Gaudi Stool

Gaudi Stool designed by Dutch Studio Geenen was inspired with the way Antoni Gaudi designed his churches. By making model out of hanging chains, and so letting gravity determine the strongest shape for taking forces.

The carbonfiber composite of the Gaudi Stool was developed in cooperation with high-end composite manufacturer CEEMO-Design/Engineering.

Good Afternoon Clock

Good Afternoon wall clock created by Mile Projects from Japan uses rays of light to replace clock hands. The clock features a set of slits that encircle the innards of the clock’s bezel. Rays of light sneak through those slits and act as second, minute and hour hands.

Build can be installed in minutes, with any number of units, anywhere. Each unit is identical, allowing you to grow your shelving system over time. Its tessellating design means you can configure the units into shapes that complement your personal environment. Build is moulded from expanded polypropylene (EPP).

Boomer Mobility Aid

The Boomer Mobility Aid created by Monash University student Daniel Molloy is a design response to the rapidly increasing elderly population. With a strong emphasis on safety, Boomer aims to reduce the risk of falls and stair-related falls, which has been identified as a major public health issue amoung the elderly. The design aims to move away from the utalitarian forms and hospital aesthetic of much of today’s elderly products. The key innovation of the design is the stair-ready function, which allows the mobility aid to transform from a walker into a device that enables the user to maneuver up and down stairs safely.

Black & White Clocks by Kibardindesign

Designer Vadim Kibardin of Prague, Czech Republic studio Kibardindesign has created Black & White digital clock concept that uses only figures without any case. Each digit has self-contained power supply and independent control, it can be fixed to any surface autonomously. A light sensor will switch the clock to an invert mode: the figures are white in the dark time of day and black at daytime.

Continue Time by Sander Mulder

Continue Time is a limited edition wall clock designed by Sander Mulder. Unlike any traditional clocks two out of the three of the clock’s hands rotate around third hand, instead of the central point on the clock face. The resulting kinetic artwork is continuously changing its shape during a full rotation of twelve hours. While creating mesmerizing patterns on your wall the pointers are still read as with any traditional clock. Continue Time if made of aluminium and brass will be available as a limited edition of 20 pieces + 1 artist proof.

CarGo Truck Concept by Adam Schacter

UK-based industrial designer Adam Schacter has created CarGo vehicle concept. CarGo addresses the issue of urban traffic congestion which affects delivery companies. Primarily designed for small, inner city deliveries, the battery powered CarGo’s innovative design allows the operator or driver to quickly adapt the vehicle to suit both traffic conditions and load volume/type. CarGo truck has one seat and provides 3 standard configurations: Compact mode, Narrow mode with corner action, and Pick-up truck mode for larger payloads. The “CarGo Pod” (storage compartment) is removable to further reduce the vehicle length making it ideal for commuters.

Punctured Paper Lampshades created by US-based company warpeDesign are made using hand punched technique create a 3 dimensional, pointillistic image and a unique lighting experience with a shade that is as lovely with the light off as on. Lamps and shades play with light, reawakening awareness of it and the joy we find when the light breaks through the dark. They don’t go flat when light surrounds them. Their textured surfaces are as intriguing in full sunlight as their pinholes of light are at night.

Black or White or Mixed Pepper Mill

Tokyo, Japan based designer Mac Funamizu has created this pepper mill concept. The pepper mill has two sections for white and black pepper. Fill them and you can grind with one hand and choose black, white or mixed. You can also save some space on the table for a little salt container you can put on top of the mill.
