But I vaguely remember seeing some-one demo'ing a product like this in a mall a few months ago, but didn't really pay that much attention at that time. But after thinking about it, it would be handy.

Something you slip in between the Fan and the grill that "filters" the dust from the air that you can then remove from time to time and wash. I know it would put some extra strain on the fan (especially if it doesn't get cleaned). But it would be handy.
