Christie's Jamaican Patties Sticking Around After All

http://www.heresparkslope.com/home/2012/2/23/christies-jamaican-patties-sticking-around-after-all.html

glad they could work it out. given the number of empty storefronts on flatbush (at least two on that block) i never bought the idea that a landlady would want to kick out a tenant who was paying some rent based on the speculation that an arena blocks away that hadn't opened yet was going to be her salvation. (much less that the arena somehow drove out the patty shop.) it's a recession dude. guy fell behind on his rent. landlady threatened to evict. they worked it out. good news for those of us who prefer patties to another cellphone store.

So, last week, the night of the stabbing down the street, he knocked on our door because he dropped his stick(?) and thought it was on our balcony. He looked pretty out of it. We checked, no stick. Then maybe half an hour later the cops came and said someone called to report an intruder climbing on our balcony. As far as I can figure it was all the same guy, but it freaks me out more after last night.
I hope he gets whatever help he needs.

As per the Facebook group that serves the area:

So, it turned out to be the kinda creepy homeless looking guy who keeps walking in and out of 475. He lives there with his mom, apparently? That's what one of the police men told me. He also told me that he was non violent and forgot to take his medication. Uh. So why did that require 15 cops in riot gear? I'm a little worried about his return to the building. Not sure if alma is going to do anything about it either...

Does anyone know what the hell happened outside of 475 St. Marks Ave. building last night? I came home from work and passed by seeing all of this madness (cops lined up, 2 emergency trucks, fire truck, etc.) Thinking it may be in liu of a schizophrenic tenant but am interested to see if anyone found out the CORRECT reason. <img src="http://brooklynian.com/forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_rolleyes.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" />

I am told they are allowed in the outdoor space if the dog does not have traverse the indoor space to get to the outdoor space.

...for example, The Gate in Park Slope.

However, some bars with qualifying outdoor space still prohibit dogs because of the potential hassle they create. ...for example, Franklin Park in Crown Heights.
