As you might have seen by now, we’re only a few weeks away from re-branding Joomlajunkie to Prothemer. In preparation for this, we’ve changed, added and deleted a few things from our website. In this blog post we’ll talk about some of the changes, and more…

The extensions we recommend here are created and provided by other Joomla clubs and developers. The extensions have all been tried and tested by our team and we highly recommend you check them out for your Joomla project. The list of recommended extensions will grow when ProThemer is up and running, as we believe good work should be talked about.

The Joomla template framework Morph is now GPL and free

As mentioned in our previous blog post, we’re doing some house cleaning to clarify our business offerings. This blog post tells you about the first steps we took a few months back; going GPL and creating a new online home for the Morph template framework.

In the beginning of 2009, you could download the Morph template framework for Joomla for the first time. Our members know it’s come a loooong way since those early days! Thanks to the feedback from our members, and hard work by our team and business partners, Morph 2.0 was released earlier this year and in August we made Morph freely available under the General Public License (GPL).

Please note: Only Joomlajunkie members have access to support, as well as downloads of our commercial themelets. See plans and pricing.

So, what’s new?

Our traditional Joomla templates are officially discontinued

Yep, that’s right! There are some sweet changes coming up here, and part of it is to “clean our house to clarify business”.

So, after extensive discussion among the team, we have decided to discontinue our old “pre-Morph” templates. Keep on reading and you’ll see why we’re doing this, and how you can get your hands on them before they’re gone.

What is being discontinued?

All templates listed under: - Commercial Joomla templates (club members only) - Free Joomla templates (for free membership, please contact us)

Why are we doing this?

Because our new site is almost ready for launch (yes, really!). Once it’s launched, our focus will be 100% on Morph (the template framework, themes, related services, etc) and our Joomla extensions.

So, to clarify our product offering, and give our members a much more streamlined experience, we first need to let go of the excess baggage we have accumulated over the past few years. This includes our old, pre-Morph Joomla templates. As an initial part of this change, we recently launched http://getmorph.org/ where you can download the Morph framework and the Vanilla canvas theme for free. All other themelets for Morph are only available for club members.

What does this mean for you?

If you want to get your hands on the traditional templates before we delete them from the club:

You can still download all our traditional Joomla templates, but only until the cut-off date of DECEMBER 15, 2011. After the cut-off date, our pre-Morph templates will no longer be available for download.
Please note: an active JoomlaJunkie club membership is required in order to download the commercial Joomla templates. If your subscription has expired, you will need to renew your account before gaining access to the downloads. Remember to use the voucher code RENEW for 15% discount on any membership! (login here)

Do you want to build a Joomla website powered by the Morph template framework, and be 100% sure you’re setting up the base in the best way possible? These two Kickstart Packages ensures your project has a smooth lift-off and easy journey ahead.

Kickstart package 1 – Basic

If you want to do the development yourself, but start by receiving project specific advice from Morph’s core developers – then this package is yours.

You get personal one-on-one advice from our team of developers about:

How best to implement the design you have in mind
How to take advantage of as much as possible of Morph’s built in functionality (based on your project specs and design)
How to extend where required and optimize where possible

This includes half an hour initial call (via Skype) for clarifications after we’ve received your design and specs. (Please note that our office hours are 8-17, GMT+2 timezone) Pricing: $250 (once-off)

Kickstart Package 2 – Hands On

Don’t want to do it yourself, but rather leave your Joomla website installation in the experienced hands of Morph specialized developers? Then this is the option for you.

This package is similar to the Basic Project Kickstart package, but here WE do the work instead of providing you advice on how to do it. This means:

We install the Morph toolset on your server
We setup the building blocks of your site, based on your design mockup/wireframe.
We create the base of your themelet, with the xml and base settings.

When you take over, the base is built and all you have to do is “coloring in” the blocks. Pricing: $250 to $1000 (depending on your project specs and design, and how much you want us to do)
