Croteam boss roman Ribaric says that a PSN version of the action game could be mustered once the current version is complete, assuming there is demand for such a title. Speaking to G4, Ribaric offered: "We keep hearing over and over from publishers, investors, marketing and other suits that players from one console, in this case PSN, wouldn't want to get it later, let's say eight months and seven days after, if it's released sooner on the other console, here that would be XBLA. I would normally say that's a lot of bull, but I will refrain here from my comment.

The first unit is the Sony Wireless Keypad for PlayStation 3. I tried really hard to like this thing but I kept running into major issues with it. It's a keyboard that attaches to the top of the DualShock 3 or Sixaxis controller. It uses a spring-loaded claw to snap into place on top of the controller above the L1 and R1 triggers and does not add too much weight to the controller.

Though outspoken analyst adds that all three platform holders are “winners” this generation As part of his report that outlined the true scale of the North American pre-owned software market, Wedbush Morgan’s analyst Michael Pachter has thrown the cat amongst the pigeons by predicting that PS3 will ultimately overtake Xbox 360’s install base in this generation of machines.
Crediting the Blu-ray alliance’s victory over Toshiba in the hi-def disc market, Pachter expects the PS3’s user base to have overtaken Xbox 360’s by 2015.

PS3’s changing backwards compatibility has been a bone of contention throughout the console’s life. Arguably, now that there are so many games on the PS3, BC simply isn’t needed any more. And yet, the PS2 is still a powerful force in the console market and a linchpin in Sony’s games business. Now a new patent has come to light, pointing to a possible return of backwards compatibility in Sony’s latest console.

ver the weekend, Hulu.com started blocking Playstation 3 owners from accessing content, as reported by Engadget (the PS3's operating system includes a web browser). When a PS3 user tries to view a video they get a black screen with the message "Unfortunately, this video is not available on your platform. We apologize for any inconvenience." (If you're a Firefox user you can test this yourself. Install the Useragent Switcher Add-on and set your useragent string to "Mozilla/5.0 (PLAYSTATION 3; 2.00)" and then try to access a video at Hulu.com.).

A cycle courier has a package go off in his hands, leaves him in a coma and when he comes to finds the city dramatically different. There's a plague, riots, chaos and criminals running wild. The courier, blamed for the explosion, is a wanted man but the blast has given him superhero powers including the ability to unleash bolts of lightning from his hands. The introduction and storyline is a puzzle like a chess game built up by a Clint-Eastwood-styled voice over. The plot allows for good or evil natured actions and thus in a Star Wars way, your 'Force' powers are unlocked to the tune of hero or villain.

Sony has revealed that PlayStation Home will be "essential" for PS3 games and the starting point for its online service. Home's service director Peter Edward told MCV that the virtual world will be integral to future PS3 releases. "Home is the starting point for PlayStation 3 online, and that's something that gamers are going to expect as more games support Game Launch from within Home," he said. "This will become an essential component for all PS3 games."

When it comes to console price drops, especially when it involves the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, most of the rumors have gotten it wrong, so echoing another one's a bit like strapping yourself to the mast of the Titanic. We know Sony and Microsoft will, but the when's about as accessible as a crystal ball locked in a safe sheathed in cement at the bottom of a well.

Once again, rumours regarding the PlayStation 3 have reared up after a leading retailer in Australia moved to clear 40GB versions of Sony’s powerhouse console by hacking liberally at the system’s pocket-testing price tag. And ‘hacking’ is certainly the operative word to focus on here after Target stores reportedly began offering the PlayStation 3 for a mere $199 AUD, which equates to an outrageously cheap $160 USD.

Our evil plan to force readers to write ridiculous limericks is coming along rather nicely. We’re also giving away a game called Overlord II and it’s really rather evil, too. Today we’ve got one Xbox 360 copy - yep, that one right there - and one PlayStation 3 copy up for grabs. Plus, you also get a set of four minion figurines. All you have to do is write a limerick. Jump on over to the original competition post to find out more and leave your limerick in the comments while you’re there.

Star Wars Rogue Squadron 4 for Wii was definitely in development by Factor 5. This was revealed in a new lawsuit by ex-Factor 5 employees following the company’s recent closure of the U.S. studio. The lawsuit claims that Factor 5 “fraudulently” transfered aspects of the game to another company before they claimed bankcrupcy while also refusing to pay their employees. But the more interesting aspect to gamers is not just the fact that the game was indeed in development for the Wii.

It shouldn’t be a huge surprise; people like Final Fantasy VII. Since the game’s release on the Playstation Network back at E3, the PS3/PSP-compatible downloadable version of the game has racked up 100,000 sales, breaking PSN records. That’s right, in the two weeks since the game’s release, Final Fantasy VII has sold 100,000 copies; not bad for a 12-year-old PS1 ROM, eh? Sony’s sure proud of the sales, trumpeting it as a sign of “continue[d] loyalty to the PlayStation platform and critically-acclaimed franchise”.
