Interactive Designer for Boutique Digital Agency

Location: Tribeca
Type: Full-time Freelance (temp-to-perm)

Overview:
Yin and yang. Beauty and brains. Artist and architect. This Hired Guns client, the digital outpost of a well-established international agency, is looking for the one-in-a-million Gun who can bring it all to the table. They need an Interactive Designer to join their elite ranks who will raise the bar still higher on an already lofty level of creative genius.

Gun Profile:
If ever there was a way to perfectly blend imagination with practicality, you've nailed it. As a designer you relish creative freedom, but you can do great work even when there are guidelines in place. In essence, you know how to make anything look fabulous; but more than that, you know how to make anything useful. You have an amazing, modern design aesthetic and a youthful appeal. You can create beauty anywhere, even in the less image-oriented work you do; you know conceptual and strategic should still be stunning. Each page you create is an experience, more Web 2.0 than flat, boring HTML.

"All hands on deck" is what it's all about around here. You come from a similarly collaborative environment, or else you just have collaboration in the core of your being. You'll be stepping in on the ground floor of this nascent shop, so be ready for some big responsibilities and some even bigger opportunities.

Nitty Gritty:
Tucked into their downtown gallery-turned-agency-loft, this team of digital pioneers is hard at work on some amazing, innovative, and status quo-busting stuff. Their account list has serious sex appeal—from beverage to mobile banking to media and entertainment—where you'll do ad work, site design, apps and widget development, you name it. These guys have helped build one of the biggest brands of the decade; with them from the beginning, it's the kind of long-standing relationship that tells you the work being done is consistently exemplary. The shop's Creative Director, who's one of our favorite Guns, is both a creative visionary and a risk-taker who gets big things done... and he'll be expecting nothing less from you.

Inside Skinny:
Tell us how you'll leverage social media—concepting and designing more than just a pretty Facebook page—in unique and unexpected ways to really impress this "seen it all" crowd. Oh, and any hidden talents (filmmaking, sculpture, music) will just help you fit in even better with this crew.

Net-Net:
Show us a portfolio that proves you really know how to work the right and left sides of your brain ... the hyper-creative as well as the forward-thinking.

How to Apply:
Email a cover letter (required) with your most recent resume attached to boutiqueidgig@thehiredguns.com. Please copy "Interactive Designer, PSFK" into the subject line of your email. The cover letter should detail your experience relevant to this opportunity and include the reasons for your interest in the position.

No phone calls or faxes, please.

Account Director, 5th Finger

Job Type: Full-Time

So you’ve been managing big accounts at a digital agency. You’re all about using web 2.0 to build rich user experiences that have a viral edge. But you’re an early adopter and ready to take it to the next screen—Mobile. Well you’re in luck, because that’s where we’re at. And we could use someone like you. You’re bored with the digerati. Come join the Digit-erati.

5th Finger is a progressive mobile agency that designs and implements engaging brand interactions to reach on-the-go consumers. Over our nine years of experience we’ve spearheaded 5,000 integrated mobile campaigns and 300+ million interactions globally. Using Mobility Planning, our proprietary strategic approach, we take time to think like the consumer in order to talk to the consumer.

As an Account Director in NYC, you’ll be responsible for profitability within your verticals. You’ll be seen as the mobile thought leader by your clients and will be the bridge between our sales and execution teams. You’ll have ownership of execution of individual campaigns so you'll be engaged closely with the account and project teams throughout, making sure that we’re delivering world beating campaigns and delighting our clients. On the sales side, you’ll own strategy and will drive your biz dev team to achieve quarterly revenue targets. And of course, as we’re a small agency, you’ll need to be able to produce your own kung-fu PPT presentations and RFP responses.

So who are you? Well, for one thing you’re super smart and super connected. Digerati, Twitterati—whatever cute label you want to use, you’re in there. You Tweet, you blog, you’re on Flickr. When you step away from your laptop you switch seamlessly to your iphone or other hip device—you may even have one for each hand. But you’re no mere user or consumer. You understand how these tools are shaping our culture and how brands can join the game.

You may very well have some experience creating mobile campaigns or blogging or speaking about the power of mobile. But more importantly, you’ve got that digital agency experience. First and foremost, we’re an agency. Yes, we are mobile only, but if you come from a vendor background (even within mobile) and you have no agency experience, you’re probably not right for us.

This is your chance to join a truly innovative agency in a rapidly growing space. Apply today.

More specific responsibilities include:

Account direction

    * Own client relationships.
    * Plan account strategy.
    * Stay involved in key client communication. Plan in advance for “no surprises” for your client.
    * Live your clients’ brand. Be the sector expert. Monitor and analyze clients' competition and industry to identify trends.
    * Manage all key commercial development within your accounts.

Mobility planning

    * Successfully and rapidly understand a client’s needs. Create opportunity briefs as a result.
    * Support the ROI of your “big idea” with reasoned insights and data. On the spot if required.
    * Rapidly build content for presentations/ideas to support mobility planning.

Pre-sales

    * Take ownership for the pre-sale process, timing and quality. Live the client’s brand.
    * Develop quality responses and RFPs and ensure sufficient buy-in across the company.

Project Steering

    * Support the 5th Finger Account Process. Work with the AM team to ensure the Account Process supports the business.
    * Stay engaged with the AM/PM on a regular basis throughout the project.
    * Stay engaged with the client at senior level during projects.
    * Be involved in any changes in project $ or project time adjustments.

Sales

    * Develop a sales strategy for the biz dev team to prospect to. Take ownership for the execution of the sales strategy and KPI’s.
    * Achieve quarterly revenue target, getting involved in individual sales as necessary.

Leadership

    * Identify product development requirements and work with product development accordingly.
    * Maintain a highly effective relationship with the Account Management team.
    * Work with Technology to engage 3rd parties.
    * Report account progress to executive team regularly.
    * Take real responsibility for your accounts—good and bad.

Senior Interaction Designer, R/GA

Interaction Design | New York, NY, United States

Do you view the people around you as a never-ending source of design inspiration? Know how to best craft a digital interface to invite audience participation? Understand how to design for multiple touch points across complex digital eco-systems? Sweat the details, while keeping in mind that simplicity and usefulness are paramount?

If so, we want to hear from you.

At a minimum, you have:

    * Three years of experience doing Interaction Design in digital marketing, product design, advertising, or a related field
    * Extensive experience designing useful digital user interfaces

    * E-commerce
    * Social Media
    * Mobile
    * Retail Design
