Picnic

Last weekend we celebrated Iga’s first birthday. Probably most people don’t do picnics in the middle of October but we do. And we’re right to do so because the weather was amazing (as usual in Ireland), the company was also excellent. Birthday cake was pinky and sweet as Iga is. One more time THANKS to ALL for coming&gifts&spending this afternoon with us.

The First Year

Today Iga has the first Birthday. One year ago I was thinking how to place my huge belly and sleep a little bit longer – not 7 hours but 8 or 9 – and that was one of the biggest problems. A few hours later I sent msg to Kris: ‘pizza day cancelled’ and after next few hours I had much more to think about:). At the beginning we counted days, than weeks, than months. And I still don’t know how it’s possible that this year went by so fast. Some people say that this is the most important year – I think it’s true: the most important for new parents;). For me it was uniquely beautiful, different year. Gave me a lot of emotions. I’ve never been as tired as I’m today and I don’t think I was more happy than today. I believe that there will be much more years like that in my life:)

I’m not sure how I should say ‘hello’ after a few months break.

Need to find something what I could cling on. I need to cheer and mobilise myself – is this the main reason why I’m here again? Don’t know. I have some pictures which I would love to show you but I’ll prepare them when I’d be around 80years old.

At the beginning of July we were visiting our friend Wojtek. He lives in Manchester. The city about I heard not very good opinions about. Maybe it’s true but I found this place as a city with a soul but maybe because we had a really good guide?

St Patrick’s Day

In the dark ages, St. Patrick who wasn’t saint by then, banished snake from island of Ireland. Snake – was a symbol of sin so after that – there was no sin, no bad things and island became second version of Atlantis. No. I think this is not 100% true. However, today is St. Patrick’s Day.

People don’t go to work, except for emergency divisions and police. Stop – it has to be positive. During the day – people are dressing green, taking parts in parades and stuff. Happening in every city, village, hamlet.

During the night – celebration is continued. This time – everyone has a ‘good craic’. In Poland we’re saying that our ‘Slovak soul’ was let free. Results are generally positive although not always

We’ve spent last week in Poland, on family tournee with our little one. So – I’ve taken a few photos, in preparation for today’s holiday. Enjoy !

Fat Thursday

Today is Fat Thursday in Poland. That means you can… you should eat as many sweets as you can;). The main delights of the day are doughnuts but you can eat whatever you like. Everything that is sweet and fat;).

We ate doughnuts that we bought on O’Connell Street. They are not as tasty as typical, homemade Polish doughnuts but good enough to eat some;).

You might think that there are a lot of them but I still can’t find some important people who I met or places that I saw. Next year I’ll change it;).

I took better pictures with phone then with camera:/. Time to change it the other way.
