About: In 2007 Nick starts performing under the name Afrojack, determined to proceed to the top as a DJ and producer. Track after track and remix after remix follow. Afrojack is rarely seen outside of his studio. When he’s not deejaying, he is producing and it starts to pay off. His tracks get played and massively supported by international DJ’s like David Guetta, Josh Wink, Dave Clarke, Laidback Luke, Fedde Le Grand, Marco V and national DJ’s like Chuckie , DJ Benny Rodrigues, Erick E, Roog and Sidney Samson. Just to name a few.
In 2007 Afrojack starts his own record label, Wall Recordings (exclusively for Beatport and Juno). A whole bunch of quality releases soon follow (Don’t Be, Proper Introduction, Thief etc.)
In 2008 he hits the clubs with “Math” and “Do My Dance” and again both tracks get picked up by every big name in the industry. Afro hooks up with Partysquad and a couple of weeks later, a “Drop down (do my dance)” co-op mix is born and hits the Dutch top 20, and gets crowned “Tune of the Week” by the biggest Dutch radio stations, and even the biggest Dutch music television network “TMF”. He also appears at many festivals. To name a few: Mystery Land, Tomorrowland (Belgium), Extrema Outdoor and Sensation
Afrojack’s popularity is rising internationally. He is considered to be a genius producer and creates a series of collaboration with international artists like David Guetta, Diplo, Kid Cudi, Chuckie, Laidback Luke and Steve Angello. Most of his tracks are featured on beatport.com.
Respected by his colleague DJ’s for his production talent and skills and loved by clubbers for his dancefloor bombs and energetic performances, Afrojack sets a new standard in the industry and is here to stay.

Hoje, 9 de março, é comemorado o Dia Internacional do DJ, essa classe de verdadeiros xamãs contemporâneos, que embora influencie a nossa cultura urbana há várias décadas, ainda não têm o devido reconhecimento da sociedade.

Ao contrário, ainda lutam pela regulamentação de sua atividade e enfrentam vários tipos de preconceito, especialmente aqueles baseados na ignorância de quem acha que o seu som não é música de verdade ou que “é só apertar um botão e o computador faz tudo sozinho”.

Desde que comecei esse blog tive a oportunidade de conhecer vários profissionais, e com eles, também conheci de perto a dura realidade da profissão.

Por isso, nesse dia, tenho que deixar aqui um grande PARABÉNS! Vocês merecem.

Hoje pela manhã me deparo no Twitter com esse post maravilho feito pelo Dj Alex Hunt e na hora pedi para postar aqui em meu blog, acompanhem e reflitam sobre isso!

Isso mesmo, ninguém nasceu sabendo!

Temos que aprender a engatinhar, aprender a fazer cocô no lugar certo, a comer, enfim.
Apesar de termos nascido com o “ instinto “ (que é um tipo de inteligência), adquirimos conhecimento do certo e errado para coordenar nossos instintos, nos levando a escolhas.
Escolhas CERTAS ou ERRADAS vão de acordo com a moral, ética e criação de cada um portanto acho esse papo de certo e errado muito subjetivo e relativo. Ou vc acha que um cara que bebeu até morrer jurava que estava errado em beber o tanto que bebeu?
Antes do cara virar um alcoólatra ele teve sua época de “ pessoa normal “ onde tinha pleno juízo do que estava fazendo enquanto levantava um copo de bebida alcoólica ate a boca.
Portanto conseqüências vem junto com o pacote de “CONTROLE” e “ ESCOLHAS” .
Egos a parte, todos nos profissionais de cabine, tbm aprendemos com outros profissionais, seja de forma direta ou indireta, inclusive o tal “certo e errado”.
Não nascemos sabendo com esse discernimento de ética, nem com o conhecimento técnico para mixar, remixar, produzir etc.…
E cada um de nos tem uma historia particular que faz parte do seu alicerce de vida, que suporta toda a bagagem que vc tem para que hj tenha os holofotes da vida virados pra vc.
Seja seu nome em um flyer ou um profissional que seja muito bem remunerado no que se propôs a fazer e que ama o que faz!
Seja em uma cidade do interior, ou capital. TODOS NOS temos nosso reconhecimento profissional um dia depois de muito trabalho e dedicação.Mas isso não brota, nem aparece do nada. Vc pode nascer com o DOM, mas até ele tem que ser moldado, doutrinado e domado para que vc tenha controle para colocá-lo em pratica do jeito “ certo “ na hora “ certa “ .
Se esquecer das próprias origens é como vc brotar sem ter raízes.
Portanto antes de sair empinando o nariz achando que nasceu sabendo tudo, lembre-se com orgulho até que um dia vc foi um NINGUEM e que queria aprender ALGUMA COISA que NAO CONHECIA. E que contou com ALGUEM de forma indireta ou direta, e que esta hj onde esta pelo seu talento sim, mas não sozinho.
