Install Clock Work Mod on Samsung Galaxy Star Pro S-7262

Clock Work Mod or CWM is one of the most popular custom recovery out there for Android Phones. Other than CWM we have TWRP which is Team Win Recovery project but as for now we are limiting to CWM. Toady I will show you how you can install CWM on Samsung Galaxy Star Pro S-7262.

The main purpose of installing a custom recovery is that it gives you a lot more features than the stock recovery installed on your phone by the manufacturer. The best reason is, a custom recovery like CWM allows you to flash new ROMs and files, allows you to take complete backups and lot more!

So if you want to Root your phone or if you want to Install a custom ROM for your phone, then first of all you will need to install a custom recovery.

So let us start installing CWM recovery on Samsung Galaxy Star Pro S-7262.

Here is a list of files you need beforehand to start installing CWM on your phone:

1. Samsung USB Drivers
2. ODIN
3. The Recovery

Se lets go! Before we can start I have to tell you some formalities which start below:

Please Note:

If you have updated your phone to the new version, then you will not be able to install CWM successfully because of the update. So please confirm that your phone's kernel and baseband version ARE DIFFERENT from mine!

Now that you have agreed with the disclaimer, let us go back to work and install CWM on your phone.

Firstly, Enable USB debugging on your phone.

To enable USB debugging, follow the steps below:
1. Go to Settings
2. Scroll down to the bottom, there you will see "Developer options"
3. Slide the top slider to enable "Developer Options" from the top. Tap on OK
4. Tick 'USB Debugging' and then tap on OK

Now your phone is in unprotected mode and ready to be fucked!

Next step is to enter Download Mode of your phone.

Remove Data cable from your phone if it is connected.
Turn of your phone completely ,i.e., wait for vibration after you switch off your phone.
Now perform this combination, carefully. If you miss any of these operation then you have to do it again.
When your phone is completely switched off, Hold the Volume Down key ,i.e., Volume -ve key. Now do not leave it, keep holding it until you are said to release it.
When you are holding the volume down key, now hold Home key ,i.e., The center button on your phone below screen. Now Hold the power key
Now when the phone will start, you will see a read exclamation mark on the top left corner.
As soon as you see the Samsung logo, you can release the keys!
Now the phone will ask for confirmation, to confirm what you are gonna do, press the volume up key once. Now you are successfully in the download mode!

Now connect Data cable to your phone and connect it to PC. Now run ODIN which you downloaded some minutes before.
Odin will now detect your phone and it will only do so when your phone's USB debugging is enabled and it is in Download mode.

When ODIN successfully detects your phone, Click on PDA button and browse for the recovery.tar.md5 file. Please note, do not browse for the archive you downloaded, browse for the file which you got after extracting the archive. When you select the file, ODIN will check it and you will get a message like this:

<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> recovery.tar.md5 is valid.
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Successfully..
<OSM> Leave CS..

Now click on start button and let ODIN do its work!
It will now flash CWM to your phone and your phone will restart automatically. DO NOT do anything on your phone until ODIN completes its work. When your phone successfully boots up, and the recovery is installed, you will get a success message on ODIN.

So the task is complete and we have finally flashed CWM to your phone. If you are getting any error in between, please do comment! And yeah, I am not responsible for any damage to your phone that occurs in any step. Bu for the sake of assurance, I have myself tested this method and yes, it worked as a charm for me :)

How to enter into Clock Work Recovery Mode

Now that you have installed Clock Work Mod Recovery, you must be willing to go to it ASAP to check if the effort was successful!

How to Enter into Recovery

To Go to CWM, first switch off your phone completely. Now perform this combination of keys, Volume Up + Home Button + Power Key. Remember, this time its Volume Up but previously we used Volume Down to go to Download Mode. You should be rolling in the recovery now!

Hide Files and Folders in Android

Hiding files is a known-by-all trick for Windows users. But now we all are familiar with the growing popularity of android phones so we all must know how to hide files and folders on android device.
If you try simply hiding the file in Windows and then copy it onto an android device then the file will still show up on android device because it is a different OS and hence it follows different rules.
My Hood, My Rulz Motherfuckr said Android!

Even if you hide the folder with system properties then it too will show up as usual folder.
So what is the solution for this problem?

How to Hide files on Android Phone

Basically all you need to do is follow this rule.
"Android respects folders and files whose names start with a (.) Dot."

For eg, a usual folder will be like this "Any Stupid Folder" and a hidden folder will be ".Any Stupid Folder"
And the same rule applies to files too. You can disguise your files as system ones just by adding a dot in starting of their names!

So all you need to do is rename the file or folder with a dot starting in the front of its name.

That's it for hiding files and folders but the thing which is yet to be known is how you will access them if they go hidden?

You can enable viewing hidden folders and files in different applications as follows.

Stock Files Manager of Samsung Android Phones

If you have a Samsung Android Phone then you can use the following steps to show and hide hidden files.

Firstly open My Files and then press the options key on your phone. Now tap on Settings.Now tick/untick "Show Hidden Files" as per your needs.

ES File Explorer

If you use ES file explorer then you can follow these steps to show hidden files:

Open ES File Explorer and then press options key on your phone. Now scroll down to the bottom where you will find a button for enabling show hidden files.

If you have other file manager then go to its settings and you will definitely find option for showing hidden files. Now go give it a try!

Airtel GPRS Night Pack Activation & Details

Airtel has been providing its users with Airtel Night GPRS pack which offers 400 MB of Download at Rs. 9 only but there are many questions unanswered which we will discuss in the post. I have been personally using this plan from months and I am satisfied with it as it is very affordable and great companion for downloading files and other stuffs.

Here is what this plan offers as said by Airtel:
400 MB of data usage on 2G network mode at Rs. 9 valid from 11 PM (Of same day as activation) to 6 AM (Next Day's morning)
P.S. If you are not sure then PLEASE call customer care, 198, and confirm if this plan is available in you area. I have tested this in Airtel UP West Network.

How to activate Airtel Night Plan

You can activate this plan from your mobile's balance by dialing *567*9#

Now it will ask for your confirmation, reply with 1 to confirm your request. The plan will be activated immediately, 9 Rs deduct from your main balance.

FAQ ( Frequently Asked Questions)

But wait, there is definitely more that a user of this plan needs to know which I am going to explain you. There are definitely some conditions attached. For the sake of clarity, I have made an FAQ list for it.

Q: If I have any other plan activated, will data deduct from other plans too?
A: No, if you use this plan as per the permitted time.

Q: What will happen if I cross the data limit?
A: You can't. As per the download speed provided, you can at most download 300 MB of data in one night.

Q: What will happen if time limit ends?
A: After the time limit is reached, the download will continue from other pack if already activated or if not activated then your Balance will deduct. If you have zero balance then the download will show error.

Q: I activated the plan on afternoon and later on the same day I got a message from Airtel that says my plan will be deactivated tonight. WTF? Like I haven't used it yet?
A: This message means nothing, you will be able to use the plan, please read below for more information.

Q: How to check remaining MB?
A: Dial *123*31#

LIES LIES and LIES

Airtel has lied to you for about three different things. As I have myself used this plan, I will tell you where they are lying to you!

#1. The plan is not of one night.

Wait, cheer up because you get 8 Hours and about 20 minutes of Internet usage! But Airtel said, this plan is valid for 11 PM to 6 AM? How it is of 8+ Hours?

Let me explain! Suppose you activate this plan on Monday afternoon!

1. Start using this plan from 11:00 P.M. Night and you will be able to use it for upto 6:14 A.M. morning of next day, i.e., Tuesday

2. Now you can use the remaining data on Tuesday night also :), start using this plan again at 11:00 P.M. night of Tuesday and you will be able to use it upto 12:06 A.M. of Wednesday!

#2. Crossing the limit will cost you many bucks

Here comes a twist, suppose you have a download running of big file AND you have not other net pack activated other than this Airtel night pack. Now it keeps on downloading for the whole night, suppose you forgot to stop/pause the download and it still runs after 6 AM, THEN YOUR BALANCE WILL DEDUCT UPTO Rs. 250/-.

So it is my advice that you use this pack at zero or minimum balance to avoid such situation. Read Tip #2 below!

Bets Tips for max utilization of this plan?

Yes, you need to read this if you want to get the most out of this plan.

1. Use UC Browser.

No I am not promoting it, in fact I have some reasons why I am recommending this.

Firstly, UC Browser supports Cloud Download, i.e., You can first download files to their server and then to your phone from their server. After that, your download will be at max speed and it will also support resuming download.

Another reason is that you can download all of your downloads one by one automatically so that you don't have to wake up whole night to start downloads and shit. Just start download of files one by one and pause them as soon as you add them. Now go to options and select start all downloads. Good Luck!

2. Activate standby plan too.

If you have got some balance left in your mobile phone then first activate a plan of minimum of two days validity. After activating this plan now activate the night plan. Now Airtel will not deduct your balance if you are not able to pause/ stop download in the morning.

3. Your mobile phone is a mobile phone. It is a better idea to connect your phone to a charger for whole night as your mobile phone's battery won't be able to run for straight 7 hours and when the battery dies, your phone, your problems!

Getting the perfect Rig!

The Processor

The processor is the heart of your computer and choosing the best one is the most important part of assembling a computer. Your computer's power and processing speed depends most on this hardware and hence you have to select the best processor out of competition. So what is the best budget performance processor by Intel? It is none other than Intel Pentium G640 which is sandy bridge based processor, the same technology you saw in 2nd Generation Intel Core i3/5/7 Processors. The clock rate is 2.7 GHz and the socket type is LGA 1155. The socket type determines which mother board will be compatible with the processor. So it means, Intel G640 processor can only be used with motherboards made with socket LGA 1155. Coming to the performance part, this processor scores 6.7 out of 7.9 in Windows 7 System Assessment Score which is a good mark of win.

As the title of this post reads budget gaming PC, so the processor is also chosen with price in consideration after performance. You can get this processor in around Rs 3000 to Rs 3,500 depending on your location and seller's mood.

A gaming PC without a gaming graphic card is like a tea without tea-leave. It is then not supposed to be called so!

Just as a processor determines how powerful is your computer, Graphic card determines how powerful is your Gaming computer. Gone the days when games ran buttery-smooth on Pentium-4 PCs. Now they won't even show you splash-screen! Now I request you all to read the below paragraph with full attention.

Choosing a graphic card is very important and yes, it is very difficult if you have not purchased it earlier. Here are some points to ponder:

The performance of a graphic card is NEVER measured by its memory. Firstly, you should see how new is the version of graphic card and its other details like shaders, processing speed, additional benefits etc
Never expect the graphic card to be cheap. A budget one can be brought for Rs 6k but increasing your budget will obviously help you get more performance.
ATI Vs. NVidia: ATI cards offer extreme value for money but on the other hand NVidia cards are bit costlier but after all they are more stable than ATI and last longer as compared to ATI cards. This is due to the fact that ATI cards try to give you more and more out of the hardware, which sometimes can screw your card and other hardware. So as we need performance in budget, so ATI is our first choice
To get full performance out of your card, then you must give it power supply it wants. Many people make a huge mistake of not getting a branded and powerful SMPS, and try to run the graphic card with older and low quality SMPS, which literally leads to Diwali (Google it if you don't know!) of your GPU and other parts like CPU and motherboard who had no fault in this process.

Keeping all above points in mind and budget as the first one, the best graphic card as for now is ATI HD 6670 1 GB DDR5 version, which costs less or more than Rs 6,000 and matches the needs of current generation games. This variant of card is manufactured by many vendors like Asus, HIS, Sapphire and everyone's price varies by +- 300 Rs. The Mother Board

The motherboard is the hardware which acts as a link between all your components inside PC. Getting a good quality motherboard gives you a stable and long lasting PC. Also, if you get a good quality motherboard then you can expect and slight increase in the performance too.

I would suggest you to get motherboard from any of these: Intel > Asus > Gigabyte. In the above processor part, I recommended Pentium Dual Core G640, so we should get a motherboard which must be compatible with this processor! Hence below is the best motherboard I could find that promises performance within budget.

Intel DH61HO Motherboard

This is a pure Intel motherboard, so you can easily expect it to be most stable and good in performance than those made by 2nd party like Asus and Gigabyte. Usually Intel motherboards are priced a bit higher because of their quality, but this one is priced exactly same as those made by Asus and others. So why take a chance when the best is knows to us? The best part of this motherboard is that you can anytime upgrade your CPU to 3rd generation Core i3/5/7 processor as this motherboard packs support for the same!

Not only this, you get a support of upto 16 gigs of DDR3 RAM which also makes upgrade for future easy. So your computer will be future ready if you go with my suggestions.

The only drawback is that it has support for only two SATA cables, of which one will be used for DVD writer? and one for Hard Disk. Usually, motherboards by Asus and others give you support for four. So if you are not gonna connect more than two hardware through SATA, then this Motherboard is the best choice.

The RAM

RAM is where all your apps and games execute. The purpose of RAM over hard drive is that RAM is many times faster than hard drive. Nowadays DDR3 RAM is used the most though DDR4 RAM is set to launch this year, but as for now we are with DDR3. The main question that comes related to buying RAM, is how much you need and of which brand. If you want to enjoy lag-free gaming, then start thinking from 4 GB as below that, PC will hang at times. One more thing to note, is NEVER ever buy Chinese RAMs or the name of company you have never heard. Always buy genuine branded RAM from Kingston, Transcend, Corsair etc, because if you use local RAM, then welcome hardware issues within a month of assembling of PC.

A good quality, like below one of Kingston RAM, can cost upto Rs 1000 per 2GB. So you need to spend near-about Rs 2000 for buying a good quality RAM

The Power Supply Unit (PSU or also called as SMPS)

This component is very less talked about while buying a PC, as the vendor himself installs a generic one without any prior asking to the buyer. He is doing good, but as far as we are having a graphic card in the house, the SMPS must be of good quality and should be compatible with the graphic card too. It means, if the graphic card says 500 W of power supply is needed and you install it on a PC with a 350 W SMPS, then after turning on a game or graphic intense program, you would possible see fire in the cabinet and burning smell in your nose!

The graphic card that I recommended you draws power from PCI slot itself so no need to worry about the above issue but make sure that you get a good quality PSU which should be atleast 450 Watts.

The Cabinet

This one is totally upto you, the cabinet is the structure inside which the motherboard, PSU, Hard Drive and other hardware are mounted. You can get a good quality and good looking cabinet for around Rs 1500, but adding a little more will help you find a cool gamer type too. So its all upto you, as it is the only thing on which you can save money or spend it all! My recommendation is that you should go with iBall ones as they are stylish and budget friendly too.
One more thing to note that most cabinets come with SMPS installed inside themselves, simply remove these are they are mostly 250W to 300 W which I told you, can prove to be dangerous for your hardware.

The DVD Writer

HTC Butterfly v/s Nokia Lumia 920 - Which One to Pick?

There comes a time when a high end device ends up as a mid-range device because the company creates another great device which is the new flagship of the company. This is the normal life-cycle of every phone possibly and it will keep on going this way till the time the technology is steadily improving and progressing. Both the phones in comparison today, HTC Butterfly and Nokia Lumia 920 used to be the flagships of their respective manufacturers until they were substituted with the HTC One and Nokia Lumia 925 respectively.

Screen & Body

The HTC butterfly is a candy-bar form phone with a 5” Full HD display at 1920x1080 pixels resolution at 441 ppi. Compare that to the Nokia Lumia 920, it sports a 4.5” qHD display of 1280x768 pixels at 332 ppi. The screen of the Butterfly ismuch better and sharper than the Lumia 920, but the 920 has an IPS LCD display which makes its display pretty sharp enough to make it capable to compete with Full HD resolutions. Both the screens are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2. By weight comparison the Lumia 920 is heavier at 185g owing to its great camera and polycarbonate casing. The Butterfly is just 140g.

Hardware

The Lumia 920 runs on a Dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait and Adreno 225 GPU whereas the Butterfly runs on Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait and Adreno 320 GPU. HTC Butterfly also has double the RAM at 2GB. So all in all, the Butterfly has better specs and is pretty fast, but the 920’s CPU is enough for the phone’s regular functioning owing to a different OS which we will be covering later. The 920 comes with 32GB internal storage which is non-expandable whereas the Butterfly has 16GB internal and is expandable upto 32GB. The 920’s 2000 mAh battery lasts enough for 1.5 days with medium usage whereas the Butterfly’s 2020 mAh battery lasts about 1 day with medium usage due to the stronger processor and screen.

OS

Both these phones run different OSs. The Lumia 920 runs on the new Windows Phone 8 OS which is sleek, snazzy and works like butter. Its Live Tiles are pretty awesome and make the phone very lively. The OS is very light and so the smaller processor of the Lumia is enough to smoothly operate the phone. On the other hand, Butterfly runs on HTC Sense 4.0+ over Android JellyBean 4.1.2. This is a pretty heavy OS and thus the Butterfly’s strong processor does a great job handling it smoothly. The Lumia 920 comes with a high Nokia mobile price in India, and brings the goods to back it up as well.

Camera & Entertainment

The 8MP camera on the HTC Butterfly does a pretty good job and is capable of capturing 1080p videos at 30fps. Its 2.1MP front camera is also capable of 1080p videos at 30fps but the Lumia 920’s 2MP front shooter does a decent job of 720p videos at 30fps. What impresses us the most is Nokia’s 8.7MP PureView HD+ camera that gives some really awesome images. It shoots the best low light images than any camera in the world. Also the 920 comes with some awesome features like Optical Image Stabilization, Autofocus, etc.

Apps & Functionality

If you look at the current situation, Android App Market, Google Play has over 800,000 apps whereas the Windows App Store has just crossed 150,000 figure lately. So it is a matter of time till the Windows OS develops and comes close to the Android or iOS app store for that matter. Though all the basic apps required are there available at the Windows App Store so won’t be actually missing much.

Conclusion

We compared the HTC Butterfly and the Nokia Lumia 920, the ex-flagships of their respective companies and we have decided to have a winner here. So considering all the criteria that we have judged these two phones on, we sure do have a clear winner and that is the HTC Butterfly with its amazing screen, fast processor, greater RAM, and bigger battery. The best of Airtel Internet plans for 2G and 3G are here. We all know that Airtel has been providing the Internet access to us using 2G from many years back. Now the speed is little compromised with the 2G network, but do you know what, the 3G signals are ruling the match. Airtel has best 3G network as for my network circle ( Delhi & NCR )

Many of us are felling nostalgic about the latest changes in the 2G internet plans which seem to be halved keeping the price same. Remember the Rs 98 plan in which you earlier got 2 GB of data, now you only get 600 MB of data for the same price which is three times lesser than previous value. And the same happens with many plans like the Rs 5 Internet plan which gave 50 MB earlier and now giving just 30 MB. And one more to be noticed is the Rs 18 plan which gave 200 MB earlier and so on.

Now coming to the solution to this epic problem, I have come up with a useful plan.
For 2G, its about half the price and data is doubled.

The best 2G data plan, as for now is the Rs 60 plan which is a awesome deal. Here are the details of this plan.

Rs 60 gets deducted from your internal balance and you get 1024 MB of Internet usage including upload, download and surfing for 14 Days. Why this plan is awesome? If you double up the price, you will have 120 Rs and for that amount you will get 2 GB of Internet data for 28 days.

Meanwhile you will remember that a plan is available of Rs 125 which is giving just 1 GB of data. So for spending Rs 5 lesser the actual amount you are getting double the original data. :-)

How to activate this plan

The price of this plan is Rs 60 for Delhi & NCR circle. A note to users is that this plan can NOT be activated by a e-recharge or what you call, Flexi. To activate this plan, here is the procedure:

Maintain a balance of Rs 60 in your SIM. If you have zero balance and are looking for a perfect recharge, then proceed as follows. Recharge your Airtel number with Rs 60, and after that you will get Rs 50.40
but you need Rs 60 for the Internet pack to be activated, so again recharge with Rs 30 and you shall get Rs 23.

So after spending Rs 60+30, you will get Rs 50.40+23 = Rs 73.40
You can also say that you have Rs 60 + Rs 13.40 in your balance.

Sync Files Easily In Single Click

On everyone’s PC there are a lot of files. Some of them are just occupying space but the rest of other important files are so damn important that you forget to copy them to their respective locations and they are gone straight to hell when you perform a clean format of your PC. Some of these are:

1. Save game files of your games which are stored in the underground storage like AppData folder
2. Saved text files and documents stored in My Documents
3. Thousands of Facebook downloaded pics stored in Downloads folder that go unnoticed.

And many more applications that store their templates and other documents in “My Documents\ {App}\Projects

After reading the above few lines you might have remembered the day when you forgot to backup your save game and then after a fresh install, the games screen shows up blank with achievements and completion progress.

Now getting to point, “What if I say, that all the above things that I told you can be done in a single click!”
Its up to you, which way you choose. One is the older method which executes as follows:

1. Select files of specific extension and type by holding control key and then making clicks to mark the files.
2. Selecting one more file that you forgot which just showed up!
3. Bump! You forgot to hold the control key so the process is nullified and again start selecting files
4. Now cut the files and go to the location where you want to paste them , make a folder and then press Ctrl+V
5. Nothing happens, as the computer didn't received the Ctrl+X request because of the $3 keyboard with low response keys so Ctrl+V has nothing to do.
6. Kick the PC hardly and then say “ I will see you later” and that day never came and your files are lost!

1. Tell the program how it should treat files in your PC
2. No need to do anything for few weeks or depending upon your priority for files
3. When you think it is the right time, execute the program again and then execute the operation.

To automate your file syncing, you need the following software

1. SyncToy: For managing files across two locations
2. Dropbox or Google Drive: For online backup of your tiny important files
3. 15 Minutes or less for setting up the process

Why SyncToy? Because it is an official application from Microsoft and it is easy to use! Now after downloading SyncToy, you need to download any online backup application like Dropbox. This one is recommended only for those who will prefer their files to be present on the web when the whole computer gets burnt into ashes.

Now install all the applications that you downloaded from the above link and run SyncToy. Here is the wizard window that you should see when SyncToy executes successfully.New Folder pair wizard will run automatically.

Folder pair means relating two folders so that changes and creating of data is done symmetrically in another folder. Here another folder can be a folder in your pen drive, a cloud storage folder as I told you to install Dropbox or just a folder in your hard drive other than the C: Drive so that your files are safe.

So in folder one, specify the folder “Downloads”, Say. Now in the other folder in the right side, specify the folder in which you want the backup of previous folder. Let it be a folder in your pen drive, hard disk or cloud storage, as per your needs. Now after specifying both folders, click on next

Now a confusion might arise between the three modes from which one is to be selected.
Here is a short explanation of each:

1. Synchronize: In this mode both folder will act symmetrical. So changes made like renaming and deletion on either side will effect the other side. Also, files copied to right folder will be sent to left folder as well. So the pairing is two-way.

2. Echo: In this mode files will be copied from left to right only, unlike the synchronize mode. The relation is between the files which are present on the left side with the right side. So this is only one way. Files copied to the right have no effect on the left folder.

3. Contribute: This is similar to Echo mode but the only difference is that files deleted on the left are not deleted from the right folder.

So according to me, the third option is the best for our purpose of backing up. Now click on next and then enter the pairing name. Let it be “backup for downloads”

Now in the left sidebar, you will see your pair name. Now it is time to try our hard work. Just press RUN button and see the action.

Now let us make the real use of the application by organizing right things in the right place. I mean by syncing android apps in different folder and images in other folder. Lets see how this can be done.

For android apps

1. Create a folder pair with all the instructions that we used above
2. Now open the pairing page from SyncToy’s left sidebar
3. Click on Change Options
4. In “Files to Include” field enter “*.apk” Here asterisk wildcard is used to copy all files with .apk extension to the specified location

For Pictures

Follow the same steps as you did for Android apps pairing. Now a question arises, how to select more than one extension?
To do this, you have to specify in the Files to include field, “*.jpg;*.gif;*.png;*.etc” each extension are separated by a ; symbol.

Now create as many pairs you want and then from the right sidebar of SyncToy, select all folder pairs and then click on run all to manage files between two locations at the cost of single click.

As we all know, Android is today's most powerful and popular OS of portable devices. Thousands of Apps are available on Play Store and more are in development. Also, It has also emerged as quite a powerful OS for Application Development. As Android Apps are based on Java, most developers feel at home. But every developer need an IDE [Integrated Development Environment] to work upon, and this is where the backlog comes.
The only IDE for Android App Development was Eclipse, with the ADT [Android Development Tools] plugin provides in the "Android SDK" [Software Development Kit]. But, it was laggy as hell, gave too many unpredictable errors and was quite difficult to handle for budding developers.

So, to solve this big problem, Google introduced Android Studio [Preview for Now] at its annual "Google IO" Conference 2013.

The main difference b/w ADT and Studio is that Android Studio is based on the well-known "IntelliJ IDEA", which is an ideal and stable IDE for Java. While, ADT is just some plugin for Eclipse, which, though good enough, is an unstable open-source Java IDE.

For now, Android Studio is just a "Preview Access" and has some bugs, but in the distant future, it WILL be the main IDE for Android App Development.

To save a webpage as PDF, Press CTRL+P in Chrome and in the left side bar, you will see Destination, click on Change and then select, Save As PDF

Now the destination will be changed and you can click on the Save and after doing so, Chrome will ask you for the location save PDF File. Voila, you got the file and it works offline.

A webpage with some 2-3 images and 600 words text is saved a 10 MB file which makes no sense at all, but if storage is not the problem then you can adapt this method.

Hello friends I am back with a new Internet Pack post and I am sorry for not being active these days because of my final exams. As we all know Airtel, Vodafone and other leading companies are actively promoting their 3G services and the number of 3G users are also actively increasing. 3G or 3^rd Generation internet provides very high downloading speeds at reasonable price. But we live in India, Here money is just a piece of paper for some but a thing of necessity for others. If we look the recent changes in telecom services, there is a huge decline in the amount of service offered for the money spent. I am talking about the clash in data cap provided by the telecom companies, as they used to give 2 GB of Internet for Rs 90+ but now they give only 650 or such MB which is a big problem for the people like me who use Mobile Internet.

Now let me take you to the point. A normal Internet user likes downloading. Increase Bass Settings To Get Max Bass [Windows]

Hello friends, I am back with a new tutorial. I know you all love hearing songs on your PC and I too love this hobby. Some like soft music but some people like me feel that the music is complete after getting the strong bass as expected by our speakers. After finding all settings and experimenting with apps, I am done and I have found the final solution to get the exact, perfect, less distorting and head shaking bass.

All you need is a subwoofer based 2.1 or 5.1 or 69.1 speaker, but make sure you have a subwoofer or else the normal speakers of your laptop will give drunk sound. And yes, if you have good pair of earphones which are supposed to give the same sound effect as expected by speakers, then you can try that too. My settings worked with my 2.1 Speakers and a Nokia earphone. Now get lets start the work. For clearing doubts, I am not just simply gonna show you equalizer settings but much more than that, so keep reading.

For Windows 7 & 8 Users

If you are a Windows 7 or Windows 8 user, then you are lucky as Windows 7 and 8 provides Bass enhancement. Please note, if you have installed Realtek Audio drivers then the setting will be disabled for you, in this case skip to next step.

Now if you are using default Windows drivers for your speakers, then open Sound settings. To do so, Right click on your speaker icon and select Playback devices.

After that double click your default Audio Device. You default audio device is the one which has a green colored check sign. After clicking on it, you will entire the sound properties.

Now from the top tab, select the Enhancements tab. There you will find bass boost, check this enhancement and select the quantity of dB. The normal one is 6 dB but you can increase it to 9 dB or 12 dB but make sure that you are getting good amount of voice as increasing the base will lower your speakers voice temporarily till the settings are applied. You can trial check all the available settings.
After switching to higher base levels, you will definitely get a increase in bass for sure.

Now, if you are feeling that you have find the right setting then you can quit this article right now, or if you are feeling that the increase in base is not making the experience complete, then you can switch to default setting and continue reading the article and I will tell you about another method which will give you balanced bass with more settings and least distortion.

AIMP3 Player, The extreme music tool

After downloading, install it and open settings. To open AIMP3 settings, just press Ctrl+P and you will get the settings page. In Playback settings, select Sound Effects

From the MOD option, select the Surround to Surround Mode 2.

Now let us go to the final settings page, to get there click on DSP Manger button from the bottom.

In the second row, second column, you will find bass level, slide the bass level to around 60%, it will be enough to give the effect. As we all know, increasing bass will distort the sound, so we need to maintain an equilibrium within base and music, to do so we will normalize the bass automatically whenever the song has ups and downs.

AIMP3 has a setting for the same, from the same page where you changed the bass, you will find the option for normalizing volume, from there select the second option which says, Normalize by Amplitude and close the settings page.

Now let us configure the final setting, the old and widely used Equalizer. to open the equalizer, open the main music player window and select the bottom right button (Shown by Red Box), it will slide open equalizer window. Now make the settings as shown in the image below.

After opening the equalizer, turn on the equalizer, by clicking on the button which is marked as 1 in the image. To check that the equalizer is on and running, the button will show a light of the color of theme.

Now the second slider is of bass level (again), to get heaviest bass slide the button to bottom or top most and to get medium level bass, let it be in center.

After all this experiment I hope you get the bass you expected from the tutorial.

Enable .Net Framework on Windows 8

Dot Net Framework is a programming tool and used by many developers. Some programs even use it to a small extent but fail to execute when the .Net framework redistributable is missing on that PC. Some of my favorite programs that use it are GTA 4, Freemake video converter and many more. I said many more because I install this software as soon as I install Windows as I know this is a useful and well needed software, so those applications which need it get it without asking it from me.

Now coming to point, everyone knows that the latest Microsoft venture is Windows 8.
I liked it, you hated it and your friend liked it, so you, yes you can't alone determine that Windows 8 is a fail.
Some months back, Windows has been frequently launching beta versions of Windows 8 and they all, even the Pro version activated has a same problem and that it.

This error dialog box pops up whenever you install a program that requires .Net Framework installed in order to run properly and without errors. But the tragedy is, you get the same message while installing the .Net framework itself from your own side. Windows team is so "Besharam" that they could,t fixed it even after launching newer versions of Windows back-to-back.

So how can this be fixed?

So, to get started the things you need are; A Windows 8 Installation disc and Admin privileges

First of all locate Windows 8 Setup files path. If you have DVD, you can insert it in the DVD Drive, if you have a Windows Setup Image files, you can mount it and if you have the whole content of Windows 8 DVD copied to your Hard Disk, then it will work too. And if you have nothing from the things I asked above, then you may gracefully close this tab :-)

Let us consider, you have Windows 8 DVD inserted in your DVD drive, which is labeled as G:\ then you can go ahead and read further steps.

Running CMD with admin privileges
Hit the start page and type CMD. Now right click on it and select "Run as Administrator" from the bottom menu bar.

When the CMD Window opens, run the following command

dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /Source:J:\sources\sxs

Things to note:

Replace J:\ with your Windows 8 setup DVD or files folder
You can copy above code but can't paste it using Ctrl+V Shortcut, so to paste it, use Right Click from your mouse inside CMD Window and click on Paste. :-)
Installing .Net Framework will take upto 5-6 minutes and the progress bar is of rolling kind, it first fills up like hell and then stops at 66% and after two minutes it then again jumps to 99.8% and again after a break of two minutes it finally completes.

Done, when the execution completes, your machine should have been running .Net framework services.

Secuity

Most secure data storing site till date with 2048-Bit Encryption Technology. And for your information, GMail uses just 128-Bit Encryption for connection. So Mega uses exactly 16 times stronger encryption which makes hackers and other bad people impossible to stalk your files.
Not enough? You are the only person who can view your files not even Mega company executives. Your files are just yours. And what's more, mega uses cursor tracking and key strokes timing to assure security.
And if your data is so confidential, then it is good to know that your data stored in your Mega drive is accessible only by and not even by the company itself.
Well, its enough about the security, now I am absolutely sure that the site is gonna be a pure win. Let us move on to next set of features.

The Website

Right now Mega can be accessed only through its native website and no apps have been written for it also for now. Also, you need to browse the website only through a Desktop(or laptop) PC to make sure that the data transfer is secure. Thinking of mobile site? Mega has not been ported to a mobile site yet due to the conflict that mobile websites can't be so secure and the only last and first option you have to use this site using a desktop based browser.

The dashboard of a typical mega account is shown below. You can upload your files using the drag and drop feature and also by using the site interface. The good thing about this Mega is that you can control many options regarding uploads and downloads. You can even upload a folder in once which is a very good feature according to me.

For poor people who have sucking Internet connection, Mega is a reason of rejoice as you can resume downloads and uploads as Mega uses a slightly different method of uploading and downloading.

Uploading

You can initiate an upload, and when your Internet connection faces constipation, you have nothing to worry of, just wait for it to reconnect and your upload will resume automatically, But you must not close your browser tab for mega site as this maybe lead to a break in connection. Moreover if you are internet connection is so lazy and doesn't starts within 48 hours, then Mega will no more help you in resuming upload.

So make sure that if you need an uninterrupted upload, do not:

Close the Mega tab of your web browser and reconnect to internet within 48 hours

Downloading

Downloading your files is not same like you used to did before joining mega, as mega uses a new method for serving downloads.
First your browser downloads the file in your temporary storage, usually %temp% for Windows and after that when the browser downloads the file completel then it will ask you you to save the file to your local storage, like Downloads.

So the download managers like IDM will have no work at all? Yup, You will have to depend on your browser for providing you good download speed. Better choose Firefox for this purpose.

You might be thinking about resuming downloads. This is possible as the way resuming uploads is.
If you disconnect your internet or it itself gets disconnected, then don't worry and just keep the Mega tab opened and reconnect to internet and the download will resume automatically.

Sharing and linking

You upload files to share with your friends and other people online. And so you will do with your Mega files. But Mega has a different point of view. To keep the "Most Secure Storage" tagline alive forever, it has changed the rules. Yes, Sharing is possible in Mega but in a changed manner. There are two types of sharing from Mega's point of view.

Collaborative Sharing

This type is sharing is the sharing of your folders between you and any other Mega user. It depends on you what you allow him or her to do. You can allow the partner to access your files, access & add new files or grant him or her full access to folder. You invite your friends to your folder and if they have already joined Mega then the shared folder will be added to their account or if they have not joined not then the email invitee will get a sign up to the Mega. A normal folder looks like this and a shared folder like this:

To share your folder, just right click any folder in your Mega folder and click on Share and a dialog box will open which allows you to invite people to access folder.

Public Sharing
This type of sharing is very usual to most of us. Just upload a file to Mega and then get the download link.
But again, its a issue of security so the link is experimental too.
A typical download link of a file uploaded to Mega is like

Actually, the link part is just https://mega.co.nz/#!q1JXWDSD and the latter is the decryption key that the person who wants to download the file must have it. So you have two options, either give the download link as https://mega.co.nz/#!q1JXWDSD and tell the people whom you want to give this link the decryption key is QP21IBaxsw_2lmeZxnVeUAwdpTZP5BmPi8Qdt8AjA1U

The another way is sending them full link including the secret key and optionally use URL shortening services like bit.ly or goo.gl

Drawbacks of Mega

As every good thing has a bad one attached to it, so is same here. Now you will think, whats bad to have 50 GB of free cloud storage and that of enterprise security! Well, first I will like to declare you that your account password can't be changed and if you forget the existing password then no one might help you. So before uploading files to your 50 GB box, make sure that your files are backed up if the files are so important.

Secondly, Mega won't let you use download managers like IDM or Flashget as everything works over the air and in your browser.

Conclusion

So what are your views about this comeback, good, awesome or disappointing. Well from my point of view, Mega can turn out to be a revolution in cloud storage with its huge free storage and state of class security features. But the thing that disappointed me is the password recovery feature which is missing as for now.

Frankly, I am not gonna use it so often but this will be my first choice if I need something to upload on the web.

Introduction to PC Customization

Who in this pretty good universe hates to be unique? Well I like to be the one who stands out of the crowd and appear as bold and impressive than others and I hope you so do the same. What's the thing that we do not customize? Books, Mobiles, Vehicles and in fact every thing that we own as private. Everyone wants their properties to be eye-catching and whoa styled. Customization can be anything, like sticking Vinyls to your Car, Changing your cell's ringtone or wallpaper, or Theme or if you are a genius than you can also change your cell's boot screen ;-) And the king of all, customizing a PC has many, many and many options to go for. In a PC you can Customize EVERYTHING, but the condition is you must be using Windows platform though. Now in this post I will get into details of PC Customization. (Software)

PC (Or Laptop) Customization has four major options to opt for customization and they are, oh wait lets see them one by one :- ). Let us start from scratch, and for sake of convenience, I have titled the level of geekness needed and the risk related to the customization.

So what's the very first thing you see when you press the power button?

The BIOS Screen

Level: PRO | Risky: Very Much

The BIOS screen is the very fist thing that you see when you hit the Power button of your PC, not sure what the PC shows in a FBI Computer though! Some Motherboard makers like Asus provide users to change the BIOS screen through a bloatware in the Drivers Disc. Since Many people PC's and dads doesn't allow it, so lets skip this one and move on to next option which is allowed for all PC's having Windows 7 Installed.

The Boot Screen

Level : Average | Risky: Negligibly low

The Booting Screen is the second thing you see when the PC starts. This one is customizable to a good extent. You can change it if you have Windows 7 installed, which is most probably on many of the PC's in this good world. Though it is also possible in Windows XP using Tune Up utilities software but it is very less used and the customization is not helpful in case of Windows XP as you need to use images which will be compressed to ugly 256-Bit based BMP images and you then opt for the default one.

Now talking about Windows 7 customization with regards of Boot Screen, you can change it very much as you need. The most famous and stable tool made for this purpose is the Windows 7 Boot Updator. The level of risk in this customization is very low because you can edit all the things using a single program on the go and the #Program allows you to create backups of system files and restore them if needed. Even I am using this program and the programs is very reliable.

The Windows 7 Boot screen has two part, static and dynamic. In static part, you can edit the following: The Background Color from 48 predefined colors which is good enough to provide you a choice of colors or you can also change the whole background by defining a image of full colors and this options seems to be more useful. Now coming to text, you can change the following text that you see as "Starting Windows" "©Microsoft Corporation" and after changing the respective text you can change their font size, their position i.e., with respect to space gap b/w the edges and the text color and the color now as more number of choices.

And if you want a cleaner look, then you can also remove both messages to give just a animation part on a black background.

And now coming to dynamic part, the animation part, you can change the whole animation. Moreover, you can can also create your own booting screen animation by creating 105 different BMP images as parts of animation and copying them inside a folder and then selecting that folder using the boot screen editing tool.
Now after editing the whole boot screen drastically, let us move to the next part which is Login Screen.

Login Screen

Level: Geek | Risk: Low

The Login Screen is the next thing after booting screen and is the intermediate between desktop and booting screen. The Login Screen can be changed in many ways. The Level is geek because you need to deal with system files manually and since the files are system files so there is a risk of system crash in a low extent.

You can customize your Windows 7 Login screen by changing its background ( easy and non risky ) and by changing its other small parts like Messages, lower branding and login forms ( Geeky and risky ). The good thing about customizing login screen as there are many applications available online which will help you change the background of your Login Screen making the task easy and risk-less. One such program is Logon Studio by Stardocks which allows you to edit Logon Screen for Windows XP, Vista and 7.

And if you want to change login forms and other high level things, you need to either edit your system files which are involved in Login Screen using a program named Resource hacker and then replace them with system files. This thing is very professional and risky too.

When you have logged in to your PC, you usually see the very own desktop if your PC is working fine.

Now moving on to next part, and that is your favorite one, the very own desktop.

Desktop

Level: Average | Risk: You can customize your desktop and your friends will kill you if you do not tell'em how to do that.

Desktop is the first thing you customize when you get to use a PC or a laptop. The first thing you do to customize it is by changing its wallpaper to your own face, you cat, dog, your favorite artist or any awesome piece of shit.

But kiddo, time time has changed and it is time to grow up and enhance your desktop to the next level, to the geek level. Changing your desktop wallpaper is not enough, you need to make it alive. Now question comes how to make it more beautiful when you are already using the best wallpaper according to you.

Desktop customizing is fun and you have limitless options for customizing it. The best are Rain Meter and X Widgets. Rain Meter makes your desktop what you never thought of and has thousands of full, free themes available online. The best place to search themes for Rainmeter is DeviantArt and Google. Here is a example of my case. The wallpaper that is currently applied on my desktop was just a group of vertical black bars. Now to renovate the look of my desktop I stumbled upon a good and matching Rainmeter theme for this wallpaper and after applying theme, I got this.

Looks awesome, isn't it?

P.S. The additional changed that you are seeing in my desktop are usable, I mean that I can see the time from it, open Hard Drives and control my Music player as I want like seeking the track, changing its volume and so on. There are many Rainmeter themes which are made for everyone, you can get a simple minimal to Heavy and detailed themes for more fun.

Now you have seen the power of rainmeter, its time for Xwidgets. Xwidgets, is same as Rainmeter as the collection of Xwidgets gallery has reached thousand of widgets and each and every widget is very promising in terms of customization. I have already posted abut XWidgets on my blog previously and here is the condition of my desktop when I used it previously.

Now which one to choose? Rainmeter or X Widgets? Well, if you are asking my choice then I would recommend you Rainmter if you want a complete and perfect layout of widgets and tools.

And if don't wanna mess up your desktop and just want a bunch of useful and stylish widgets, then go for X widgets. You can find exactly what kind of widget you need. Whether its a stylish clock or a RSS feed reader or just a showpiece.

So the whole desktop customization is managed by Rainmeter and X Widgets somewhat.

Your PC has booted, Logged and now you at desktop, what's next? Its the Windows Explorer and now the customization is about it.

Windows Explorer

Level: Geek | Risk: Medium

Windows Explorer is what you use to browse your PC in terms of HDDs, Removable drives, Folders and Files. A non geek user can't use his PC without this application and so it behaves as a most used and important part of Windows. Now when it comes to customization, it is very hard to customize Windows Explorer and it also has some potential risk of system crash as first of all, to customize it, you need to have perfect knowledge of shell level editing and it is risky because you need to replace existing system files with your edition. But even after this, you can't say that this is useless, but in fact if you are able customize this one, then the PC will act like as if a new version of OS is installed and it also completes the combination of Boot Screen + Desktop + Explorer Customization which is enough to regard your PC as the coolest one than the default installed.

Some geeks around the world practice their geekness and upload modified and cooler version of Explorer related themes. For eg, the glass version of theme by devaintart user Pawan2face looks like this.

So if you want to completely customize your PC, you need to make some customization to Windows Explorer!

Conclusion

Customizing PC is both Fun and Awesome if done properly and careful, but if try to smarten with your PC then you can probably end up with the final option of Re Installing Windows. It takes just a few hours to get a nearly perfect combination of customization. My favorite options are customizing Boot Screen as I have seen some amazing and oomphing Boot Screens to add an eye candy to our PC and some Rain Meter themes that changed my whole desktop to the one that every computer geek will like to adopt.
