WARNING – This episode is potentially NSFW

Once again the boys dive into transvestite talk as they discuss if the transvestite widow of a fallen fire fighter and the fire fightere were every really married. While on the death subject (why are they so fascinated with death??), they discuss the very tragic loss of the hot, now dead, LPGA Golfer Erica Blasberg. The boys of the Pubways then try to figure out why a hand surgeon in Houston would use his hands to hit a woman. PGTerrill took and trip to Universal in Florida and extols the greatness of being able to buy beer at an amusement park while PGKyle wonders just what kind of weird drinks they make up in Wisconsin.

The trivia question is: “What was the name of Bill and Ted’s band in “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure?”

The drinking game word of the day is “Hand” so please feel free to play along at home. Remember, the more you drink, the better we sound.

That’s it. It’s done. Stick a fork in it… Summer is all but over and the greatest season of the year is among us. FALL! And with fall comes the greatest sport ever invented by the Baby Jesus, College Football! So, of course, I feel the overwhelming need to share my top 10 observations.

The Longhorns’ pre-season rank is number 4 in one poll and 5 in the other. Too high with an unproven QB. I will be impressed if Texas makes it through October 17th without a loss. If they do, look out. My official prediction… Beat Rice, Wyoming, Tech, lose to UCLA, beat OU, Nebraska, Iowa State, Baylor, then drop one to an unranked team… either Kansas State, OSU, or Florida Atlantic and finish the year with a win over A&M but miss the Big 12 Championship game with OU winning the South. Texas is taken at large and plays either the Sugar or Orange Bowl.

Boise State is number 3??? Really? Hey Boise… let me make something perfectly clear to you… NO ONE WILL TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY AS LONG AS YOU ARE PLAYING ON A BLUE FIELD.

Texas suddenly dropped Minnesota (a Big 10 (12) team) from its future schedule and replaced them with BYU… hmmm. BYU to the Big 12 (10)?

USC cheer leaders are really hot.

Notre Dame did not appear in the Pre season top 25. If they win their first game they will be. Probably top 15. The media just can’t resist and NBC makes any voters on NBC affiliates vote for them.

Shiner Bock is the perfect College Football beer. Just saying.

I’m pretty sure that Nick Saban and Urban Meyer are the same person.

I think college football coaches go to class that teaches them how to say stupid things. Mike Leach is now teaching the class.

Why is Alyssa Milano selling College wearing apparel? http://www.fandalia.com/NCAA-Shop_72205769_PG.html

Bobby Bowden feels FSU forced him out… I guess he is so old that he has forgotten that they kept him on for a decade longer than they should.

The PubGuys head Over the Hill with this, our 40th episode.
We kick it off with a lively discussion on the Texas Rangers auction and the new owners. Unsurprisingly, there are some opinions present in the PG world. Prop 8. Love it? H8 it? Don’t care? Listen in for our thoughts on the recent overturning of the controversial California law.

Continuing the legal discussions, we touch on a series of legal PubShots.
It’s all good fun in the 40th PubCast.

The trivia question is: “Who are the new owners of the Texas Rangers (spelling matters) and who is the big-money backer?”

Forbes magazine released its list of the most valuable pro sports franchises. The usual suspects are there but there is one big surprise in the top 10. The NFL’s Houston Texans are the WORLD’s 10th most valuable franchise despite having a franchise record of 49-79 and zero playoff berths.

This goes to show you the power of not only the American sports market but of the NFL in particular. Need more proof? Forbes valued 25 teams worth a billion dollars or more. 20 of them are NFL teams. The other 5 are Manchester United and Arsenal in the English Premier League (soccer), Real Madrid and Barcelona in La Liga (Soccer) and Ferrari in Formula One racing. Even more proof? Of the top ten paid athletes in 2009, 4 are from predominately American sports (basketball, football) and 3 others are Americans at the top of their sport (Golf, Boxing).

With all this money floating around the American sports marketplace, it is no wonder that F1 and Soccer are trying to realize the American sports dream.

From Forbes Magazine:

Top 10 Most Valuable Franchises

Manchester United – $1.84 billion

Dallas Cowboys – $1.65 billion

Washington Redskins – $1.55 billion

New England Patriots – $1.36 billion

Real Madrid – $1.32 billion

New York Giants – $1.18 billion

Arsenal – $1.18 billion

New York Jets – $1.17 billion

Houston Texans – $1.15 billion

Top 10 Athletes in earnings

Tiger Woods – Golf – $105 million

WARNING – This episode is NSFW (even the songs!)

In what is perhaps the strangest show to date, the PubGuys kick off the daily double with Buzzwordz.net as we welcome the host, Adam for the first half of the show. Together with Adam and an impromptu appearance from Curtis we dive into the always fun and sometimes bizarre world of Pub Trivia. (BTW, PubGuys won the top spot after the show).

Then we play everyone’s favorite game, Count The Red Flags with a rare double feature. The scary part is that they both seem to deal with out of bounds sex.

After the break, Curtis teases PG Mike with his brush with greatness and peels back the curtain on the joys of traveling stand-by.

The tricky trivia question is: “What writer and performer served as the narrator of the Dukes of Hazard?”

The drinking game word of the day is “Transvestite”, so please feel free to play along at home. Remember, the more you drink, the better we sound.

Cheers Bitches!

WARNING – This episode is NSFW

This week on the PubGuys PubCast: We wrap up the World Cup as Mel Gibson wraps up his career and LeBron James begins a new chapter in his. We take a swing at The Major League Baseball All-Star Game and we get all hard on the Rangers actually getting some pitching. We are asked by a listener what it would take for us to give up beer… yeah… not gonna happen. Then we work blue and discuss some significant deaths including the murder-suicide involving the Mayor of Coppell, TX.

Of course It wouldn’t be PugGuys without “Count The Red Flags” and DEATH!

The “tricky” trivia question is who is the first President of the United States to attend an All-Start game. If you are the first person to leave a comment with the correct answer you will get a prize the next time we see you!

The drinking game word of the day is “Backlash”, so please feel free to play along at home. Remember, the more you drink, the better we sound.

Can you believe it? August 11th will mark the 1 year anniversary of our first published show. Many (including at least one PubGuy) didn’t think three (now four) beer swilling, bar hopping, regular guys would ever succeed at trying to do something that no other Podcast has done – record every show from a remote location.

We have fought some and laughed a lot and solved some very (and not so) serious problems “One Beer at A Time” and we are going to celebrate at an upcoming show. We are in the process of pulling our favorite cuts and writing down our favorite stories about our first year. We want to know yours! Please comment below or email or even better, call us at 214-44GUYS4 (214-444-8974) and tell us what you think.

Look for the announcement of the date of the anniversary show soon! Cheers Bitches!

The PubGuys talk about their 4th of July experiences, some of which were painful. They then get into the World Cup, debate the infamous handball by Luis Suarez in the Uruguay vs. Ghana game, and make predictions on the World Cup Final. The crowd gets involved with questions from our wonderful PG1s. If you have a question you would like to hear the PubGuys answer, please send it to questions@pubguys.com or guys@pubguys.com. Special guest-host Curtis airs his opinions on LeBron James and NBA free agency, and then Kyle brings us home with recent notable deaths, and we decide if they are PubGuys Hall of Fame worthy.

The trivia question from BuzzWordz.net is which current MLB player has the most All-Star selections? If you are the first person to leave the answer in the comments section, you will receive a prize the next time we see you!

The drinking game word of the day is advance, so please feel free to play along at home. Remember, the more you drink, the better we sound.
