Kathryn Glinski, Chris Gostling and Margaret Stagg worked together on breathe new life into this re-purposed mahogany table, creating a robust and beautiful addition to the PDA for 40 Oaks interior!

We absolutely loved the design and idea of EndGrain‘s Harvest Table for PDA for 40 Oaks, made from such obviously accessible and awesome materials – reclaimed wood doors and steel!
Endgrain is Soojung Jenny Park, Mingus New, Patrick Kroetsch, and Mike Lovas, who are students and graduates from OCAD Industrial Design.

Another beautiful harvest table for the community hub at 40 Oaks. This one is created by Amy Markanda of Tinsel & Sawdust, and the material is White oak.

This mural is a result of a collaboration between PDA, the Regent Park community, the Institute Without Boundaries and the StudioLab at George Brown College. Last September, PDA and the IWB hosted workshops at the Regent Park Centre of Learning. The IWB students led community members through a brainstorming process to generate ideas for the mural. The IWB students then created a design brief which was given to the George Brown StudioLab students who developed designs for the mural. After the final presentations in December, PDA selected the design that best met the conceptual ideas generated by the community and implemented the design. The winning design came from Karen Yu and Paul Lapkin. The name of the mural: H.U.G. It is now to be found in the Community Meeting Room at 40 Oaks. The materials are nails and string.

These cute “FELT Pockets” by Kathryn Walter/FELT Studio are going into the 40 Oaks building’s common room. It is made of industrial wool felt.

When you enter 40 Oaks you will be met by some pretty amazing pieces. Rob Southcott has created the beautiful 40 Oaks Donorwall to honor those kind people who have made the entire project possible. The name of the piece is The Roots of 40 Oaks, and it is made of various lumber species, each of them defining the amount given.

The vestibule is lit up by the stunning chandeliers (?) created by Brothers Dressler. The 3 big lights are called Triple Burst, and are, as many of the other pieces made for 40 Oaks,  created out of salvaged church pew elm, discarded light fixtures and hardware.

The Future Looks Bright – Orange! – That is the name of the directory wall created by MADE for PDA for 40 Oaks. It is constructed of Retired wallpaper samples, salvaged oak church pews, fir ply scrap and low voc paint.

This amazing couch was built for PDA for 40 Oaks by Connie Chrisholm Design and Tina Morgan Upholstery. It is made from Reclaimed Oak and Elm and Scrap Leather.

Another Design Lines Favorite! This coffee table is created by designer Clayton McMaster out of Reclaimed birch flooring for the 40 Oaks building.

The beautiful wall installation was made by Christina Ott from CROW Art and Design build, and the community in Regent Park. See the video of Christina Ott and her workshop here. The material used is String, popsicle sticks, and wire.

This wonderful harvest table was made for 40 Oaks by Canadian Salvage Timber. It is made of Threshing Pine floor. And as the picture shows, it got the Design Lines Love Tag! We think it deserves it.

This interesting Coffee table was made by designer Vincent Monastero for PDA for 40 Oaks. As many of the other pieces in the exhibition, this piece was created of reclaimed church pews, more specifically white and red oak, coated with black milk paint.  The piece is named “An Alter”.

The Board Room Table is designed by Studio Junction and is made from reclaimed douglas fir and steel.  The Light Fixture called OH – 85 [SITE - 1] is designed by Jano Badovinac and Ryan Wilding of Fugitive Glue and is made from salvaged MDF and plywood, reclaimed spruce, RAB LED light strips and tape, Plaskolite Diffuser panel.

Both objects were created for PDA for 40 Oaks.

Blanket Chair by Heidi Earnshaw Design was made with textile collaboration from Marie deSousa. The chair is made from reclaimed ash, reclaimed wool blankets and stainless steel.

The lamp in the foreground is called L.A.M.P and is designed by Alana Boychuk and Tristan Fuller of Boychuk+Fuller with assistance from Maxwell Lloyd & Byers-Bush. The lamp is made from powder-coated steel frame (reclaimed plant stand) and a paper shade.

Both objects were created for PDA for 40 Oaks.

The coffee table in the background is called Steelog and is designed by Cassandra Alves & Kara Logan of Karkas and is made of steel pipes & unidentified salvaged wood.
