The deficiency of rescue facilities and emergency hospitals results in the increase of the casualties. The international rescue organisations and other human organisations are facing many difficulties due to tattered roads and debris to reach the front line cities.

China and KSA Hands up Result in Pak Put on Grey-list Again

Pakistan lost it’s case as FATF (Financial Action Task Force) has decided to put Pakistan in Grey-list. The final verdict has been given on late Thursday in three days meeting of FATF. The monitoring will be start in June of same year.

Pakistan was once before under surveillance from 2012 to 2015. After observing Pakistan’s efforts in war against terrorism and extremism, its name was removed in 2015. Now once again since last months Pakistan is alleged involved in money Laundering and terror financing.

FATF is an international watch dog to monitor Money Laundering and Terror Financing around the globe. Other than Pakistan countries like Yeman, Ethiopia, Iraq, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Trinidad and Tobago,Tunisia, and Vanuatu are in the Grey-list.

Despite of the facts that ratio of terror attacks have been reduced as compare to last ten years and anti corruption departments of state like NAB ( NATIONAL ACCOUNTIBILITY Bureau) have taken action against many white collar people allegedly involved in money laundering, Pakistan’s name has been once again added in Grey-list. The action has been taken against Pakistan after US and UK’s joint efforts to put Pakistan on terror watch list.

Firstly, US and UK failed to put Pakistan on grey-list, because according to organisation’s law any state cannot be put on watch lost if minimum of three countries oppose the decision. In Pakistan’s case its friendly neighbouring state China, Islamic states of Saudi Arabia and Turkey with whom Pakistan has brotherhood relations opposed the decision earlier.

But Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif had said on Tuesday that Pakistan had been given a three-month reprieve by the global watchdog. But that’s not stopped here afterwards Foreign Minister had tweeted that Pakistan’s “efforts have paid (off)” and suggested that there had been “no consensus for nominating Pakistan”.

After that US and UK along with India reformed their campaign, as America leaded with Saudi Arabia and Turkey and India pursued the China to withdrew their support. Although Turkey refused to do so that KSA and China withdrew their support.

On Friday, a contradictory statement from Indian and international media, which circulated reports that a decision had been made to include Pakistan in the FATF's grey list late Thursday night after Saudi Arabia and China allegedly withdrew their support but Turkey still opposed the decision.

The Three members bench of Apex court leading by Chief Justice Saqib Nasar, comprising of Justice Umer Ata Bandyal and Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan announced by verdict of the case reserved on the petitions against Election Act 2017 which paved the way for Nawaz Shareef to be become the President of the Party.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Awami Muslim League (AML) Chairman Sheikh Rasheed, People Party and Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhutta were among the 13 petitioners, Challenging the Election Act 2017. The short order was announced by Justice Saqib Nasar, any person declared disqualified under article 62 and 63 cannot hold presidency of any political party, regardless of by what name they call and also prohibited from exercising of power privileged under article 63-A of constitution.

The court have directed Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to erase Nawaz Shareef’s name as president of PML-N from all the legally noticeable documents and relevant records. Moreover, Legal experts are of the opinion that Senate elections will not be distribute by this verdict as PML-N representatives in election will be consider as independent nominees, as papers have already been accepted by ECP.

Contempt of Parliament by Executives, Minister Refused to Disclose Troops Deployment Location

On Monday Defence Minister appeared in Senate to present policy statement regarding troops deployment in KSA. But Minister Khurram Dastagir bluntly refused to tell deployment location in Saudi Arabia, even in in camera session as well.

Few days ago official statement from ISPR were released in which they said the contingent of about 1000 soldiers will be dispatch in Saudi Arabia, according to 1982 security protocol between Pakistan and KSA contingent of 1600 soldiers is already dispatched in KSA. The statement were released just after signed by PM.

Khurram Dastagir said that he and PM was on board when the decision was being made. But due to national security we can’t disclose the exact location of the soldiers. Chairman senate offered an in-session as he observed that information couldn’t withheld from Parliament but Minister’ still refused to disclose the information by saying that it’s sensitive for national security. But our troops will be located in the geographical boundaries of KSA. In the response Chairman senate said “Don’t give us lollipop. “

Minister said our troops will train KSA army for mountain warfare and counterterrorism as it wasn’t the case when protocol was signed in 1982. The decision is made with consent of both military and civil leadership. Chairman Senate said “if you and PM were part of decision than both of you falls under contempt of Parliament and don’t. You don’t think Parliament should be taken under confidence before making such sensitive decisions and had so many months to do so. As you were aware of decision and parcel of exercise”.

Chairman also said that “Don’t let us talk about supremacy of Parliament, executives are rubbing the nose of Parliament into sand”.

Voice Against Harassment Raised by 200 British Thespians

About 200 British thespians including Hollywood superstars Emma Watson and Kate Winslet demanded end to sexual harassment through open letter published in Observer newspaper on Sunday just before Bafta Film Awards. They expressed solidarity with Times Up movement and asked for donations to new “Justice and Equality Fund”.

The letter was started with addressing “Dear Sisters”, actually this was the continuity of the letter published by US Actresses last month as they used similar statement to address. The signatories of this campaign include Emma Watson, Kate Winslet, Kristin Scott Thomas, Keira Knightley and Saoirse Ronan.

The US Actresses asked for support from all around the world to raise voice against harassment culture in society recently uncovered by the Harvey Weinstein scandal. I recent past the act of harassment wasn’t considered as an unethical and sinful act and people used to harass women in public places, offices, Study Institutes and even at houses by other family relatives. It was an uncomfortable, unavoidable and awkward joke for women and no one like to discuss it publicly.

In letter published by British Academy Awards they said “In 2018, we seem to have woken up in a world ripe for change. If we truly embrace this moment, a line in the sand will turn to stone.” Almost 160 activists and academics have signed a sister letter asked for support for the new fund, which aims to make workplaces safe and support victims of abuse.

Justice Happened in Record Time of Seven Days as Zainab's Murderer Gets Four times Death Sentence

On 17th of February the hearing of the case were happened in Anti Terrorism Court at Kot Lakhpat Jail under very tight security arrangements. The verdict were announced by ATC judge Sajjad Ahmed in the presence of accuser Imran Ali Naqshbandi and Zainab's father.

The convict has been given four times hanging till death, lifetime imprisonment along with seven years redemption and fine of Rs 32 lacs under the charges of Raping, kidnapping and Murdering of the Seven years old child in Qasur City of Punjab.

The four times Death Sentence is given to the Imran Ali under section 364-A of PPC for kidnapping, Section 376 for committing rape, section 302-B for Murdering and section 7(a) of ATA for propagating fear and terror in area.

The ATC court reserved its decision on 15th of February after completion of prosecution and defense following four days of regular based hearing with the directives from SC and LHC. The verdict will not be practice before clearance from LHC division bench of two judges. The trial court will might be send reference along with all the records to the LHC.

After announcement of verdict Zainab's father while talking to media said, He is very thankful to judiciary and government for providing speedy justice to his family but he also demanded open execution of the convict.

The ATCs were set up in 1997 for speedy prosecution of sensitive cases but it happened first time in the history of judiciary that verdict has been given in seven days. It indicates that judiciary had got lesson from its past mistakes and now justice isn't insane in the country.

Senate calls Defence Minister on decision of troops deployment in KSA

Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani calls defence Minister Khurram Dastagir to present policy statement over matter of dispatching the Pak Army troops to KSA, as it was official announced by ISPR that Pakistan has send thousands of more soldiers to Saudi Arabia and they will be available there for internal operations.

The issue was raised by PPP senator Farhatullah babar in front of senate after that chairman senate calls defence Minister to give explanation over the order given earlier. Senator Babar also said that anyone of us can imagine the grave after effects of that decision.

The sending of troops to Saud Arabia is contradictory to the resolution passed by Joint Parliament last year when Saudi Arabia itself asked for the deployment of Pak Army troops in Kingdom in order to work for Islamic Military Alliance.

Pak Army troops are already deployed in Saudi Arabia to confront internal threats and security of religious places but the question is there any serious need of increasing number of soldiers for internal security or they might be used to tackle threats come from Yemen. If Pak Army troops will used beyond the Saudi borders then consequences will be the same as before. Pakistan should get mature enough now to smell consequences of fighting wars on behalf of others. Indeed we should hope for better.

KPK Institutional Reforms Result in Crack Down against Land Mafia

The social disease of bribery had caused illegal occupations and digress of public land all across the Pakistan. Institutional reforms in KPK has caused crack down against these powerful land Mafia groups. The Assistant Commissioner Sahira Reham along with district Police, TMA and other concerned departments has recently launched crack down against illegal digress around main roads of district Haripur.

Before that we have also seen such kind of operations in district Noshera, Bannu and in provincial capital Peshawar as well. But the operation in Haripur District is quite different from all previous operations in the province as in is this operation they have demolished permanent houses, shops and Hospital as well. While talking to Media Assistant Commissioner Sahira Reham said,

District Administration of Haripur have gave these people more than illegally given time for demolishing their property by their own and also propagate the pamphlets but they didn't demolide buildings, so we decided by concerning all concerned public department of district to demolish these illegal properties by using heavy machinery like Cranes. She also said that we haven’t gave any privilege to any person and in this operation everyone is equal in eye of government.

It’s without any doubt a good initiative taken from district administration and it represents the freedom of institution from political influences and young bureaucrats like Sahira Reham are doing such a good job. But the fact is should continue on the high level as well. It can a political stunt by KPK government to grab public good will because local elections are just few months away. If the institutions are now genuinely free of any influence than they should continue the crack down in other areas of life as well.
