HUDUD STANDOFF

PR is suffering its 3rd real test in its 5th year (after the 2 general elections) and it is related to Hudud: a hidden skeleton that was kept carefully for some time until its cover was blown wide open come December 2014.

It is no secret that Hudud has been the objective of PAS. It has been in its policies, ceramah, books and party paraphernalia. DAP has, on the other hand, an unwavering stand against Hudud. Something that it likes to mention out quite publicly.

Essentially, what I am going to write is for both to step back and think for a moment. It is easy to criticise and find fault with the other, what is harder is to introspect and mull whether we ourselves have been in the wrong:

Hudud though an integral form of Islamic Law, does not represent the entire religion. It is based on ascertained Hadd punishments specified by the Qur'an and Sunnah. Even then, it is a minority when compared to the other element in Islamic Criminal law which is Ta'zir, which is not pre-determined, bigger in scope than Hudud and its application is dependent on ijtihad and the current policies of the government of the day.
Hudud does not claim to be the most prioritised commandment of Allah SWT. There are numerous other actions, deeds and worship which holds precedent such as al-'adalah (justice) and al-amanah (trust).
It is by no coincidence that there are a plethora of Islamic teachings other than Hudud that is rigourously encouraged to be implemented by Islam.
It is advised that these be put forward and suggested to be accepted by DAP and PKR such as good governance, expanding the role of the Zakat institution, education, welfare, science and technology especially explaining what is Islam exactly and how it is different than the current misconception.
DAP on the other hand, notwithstanding my writings above, would do well to understand that Malaysia has been readily able to accept many Islamic concepts with no negative impact whatsoever. Islamic banking and commerce is a good example.
If a perusal is to be made to the criminal laws of Malaysia, the concept of hanging which involves snapping of the neck bone and asphyxia, and caning: leading to severe scars and injury, are all 'brutal' acts but are nonetheless accepted as a form of capital punishment.
PAS should 'sell' Hudud in the form, sense and feel of a legal reform rather than an arbitrary imposition leaving more questions rather than answers.
DAP should also take a step back and be more inquisitive rather than dismissive. As not all things Islamic are regressive and not everything we have in our current civil laws are clean beyond reproach.
Hudud is appealing in its deterrent aspect, something that is not quite so apparent in current penalties.

In a union, all components should be aware of not only its ideological differences, but more so its similarities. It is based on these similarities should PR forge its consensus. These similar ideologies have been laid down in written form and signed in the Common Policy Framework (CPF) document.

That being said, Hudud is currently not part of the CPF. But PAS should not feel left out, as many other facets of Islam could be carried out with full support from DAP. Introduce them to the beauty of Islam on this method, and who knows InsyaAllah in the future maybe even DAP would embrace Hudud.

MH370 & MH17: Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raajiuun

SELANGOR MB ISSUE

One has only to know one fact - TSKI is a well respected corporate administrator who has successfully accomplished his KPI. As such, his KPI would be maximisation of 'profit' or in this case buffing up the Selangor State reserves to RM3b at one point.

On the other hand, he has not fulfilled his political KPI. In politics, one must spend money in a way to realise electoral promises and keep people happy. In a PR mould, this spending must be done with CAT principles in mind - different than under UMNO.

Another weak point for TSKI is that he must realise he is not given a free rein to administer Selangor. He is bound by the PR Election Manifesto, and as a party member he is bound by the party's decisions. It was the same party that nominated his name to the MB post in the 1st place.

Obviously something is very wrong when he incurred the wrath of PR Selangor. His attitude of refusing to attend Selangor PKR meetings and instructing Faekah Hussin to go in his stead shows disrespect to his peers and reflects his valuation of such meetings.

DS Anwar Ibrahim was warned about this earlier and at long last the Kajang Move materialised. The ADUN for Kajang, Lee Chin Cheh abdicated his position, and this would continue with another ADUN resigning, and another, until TSKI resigns. DSAI arrested this domino fall in the bud and announced his agreement for Langkah Kajang. He is to step in and TSKI would be replaced. Sadly UMNO machinations ensured this was foiled and DS Wan Azizah was instead chosen as the 'bidan terjun' candidate and went on to be lobbied to replace TSKI.

In Kajang, TSKI spared no expense and effort in assisting PKR which led to the win. He was of course mindful of the Kajang move, however kudos to him he went on quietly and helped Kak Wan to the win. Faekah seemed unable to advise TSKI of this overture.

When the political bureau of PKR has decided to nominate DSWA, TSKI decided not to leave his post. And assumed the usual harping of the requirement to heed the Undang-Undang Tubuh Selangor and the Sultan - a line of argument more commonly associated with UMNO and Hassan Ali. This was the final straw that showed DSAI and DSWA who Khalid really was, a rebel.

Rebels are rife in PKR. Seeing that membership has brought together a band of stalwarts, islamists and liberals all together in one uniform. TSKI was found to be more belligerent than most people think.

Anyway Selangorians are now, maybe rightfully so, asking why is there a need for TSKI to be replaced now? why not allow him to see out his term?

The answer lies not in Kajang but in the results of the just concluded PKR party elections, which was overwhelmingly won by Azmin's KeadilanRaya faction. Trouncing TSKI by 15% of the total votes cast. FYI Azmin garnered 12,250 votes, TSKI 8,123 and Saifuddin Nasution 6,997.

Obviously PKR would be steered by KeadilanRaya, which would spell the end of TSKI whether with DSAI's backing or otherwise. And for DSAI to assume control, this move would need to be done now rather than later. Or any other date as long as such date is before the official handing over to the new Majlis Pimpinan Tertinggi.

DSAI, in his vast knowledge of political maneuverings, needs to place an MB that is a form of compromise to Azmin and Khalid. In PKR, no other person commands more respect than DSWA. So there she goes. Problem is, PAS flung a spanner to the works and, although admitting sending 4 official representatives to the Majlis Presiden, the PAS President decides to voice support for TSKI. He did say that it was his personal capacity according to the media, but Nik Aziz, the Dewan Ulama and PAS Youth seemed to take this as a directive and flung its weight against DSAI.

Something they had always wanted to do.

PAS, in my opinion, was entitled to their opinion. But seemed to forget the warnings and threats made against PKR and DAP against questioning the Kedah MB fiasco. Or their selective amnesia against the sabotage they did at Kota Damansara against PKR.

In a political relationship, PAS would do well to learn that it is good to be humble. In a co-operation, there is something called 'give and take'. You cannot take the whole pie and eat it too. But at the same time questioning, plotting and stabbing friends when they want to take their share of the pie.

In any event PKR is undoubtedly in dilemma. As would any political party as time goes on. It would be absurd and untruthful to say that this was 'all PKR's fault', and not taking cognizance that the pot is as black as the kettle, and sometimes much worse. All political parties have problems, and good friends and comrades soothe rather than worsen, support rather than sabotage, their friends in their hour of need. We need to remind our party members that we too have our share of problems, and that we should stand resolute with Pakatan Rakyat, until such time that PKR has solved its internal problems.

That way PAS would win more friends and respect. Much better than what is seen now. As respect is earned by deeds rather than by right.

I hope that Azmin and DSAI shows true leadership and calmness in the face of these tests. InsyaAllah we would see the solution and members such as I would remain loyal notwithstanding the outcome. Let us see the big picture and soldier on. Hayakallah!

Hudud Debate in Dewan Negeri Selangor

First of all, kudos to YB Speaker Hannah Yeoh for showing compassion and act as a beacon of change for the ever-hardline DAP. It takes HUGE bravery to do that, and I do believe that the little YB has pondered long and hard before making known her decision.

Yes you heard me. DAP is a HARDLINER, a hardliner against what it solely perceives as constitutionally wrong, even though the exact arbiter of constitutionality are the Courts. Which makes DAP's stand as flawed constitutionally...

Anyway,

It is normal nowadays to see people from all walks and caste attacking PAS and its stand on Hudud, which PAS consistently and steadfastly fought for throughout these years. DAP especially, wishes - nay! - DEMANDS that PAS gives up its fight for Hudud using the same line of thought as the Muslim UMNO, saying that it is not applicable in this day and age, multicultural society etc.

However has anyone considered what concessions have DAP (and renowned lawyer Tommy Thomas) offered in its co-operation with Pakatan Rakyat?

Have they allayed themselves and allow themselves to at least try to learn what Hudud is actually all about? How Muslims could not, as a matter of principle, deny its application? and that it is a religious duty to try for its legislation or Taqnin?

My personal opinion is that Hudud is not a critical aspect to be canonised. There are hordes more important issues to be addressed such as poverty, minimum wage, family welfare, children's education etc which are coincidentally issues which command a bulk of Allah's commandments in the Qur'an rather than Hudud which are only mentioned 10 times out of 6200 verses in the Holy Book.

My point here is that DAP, MCA, Gerakan and other Islamophobe bigots should spend some time to read and understand why is it that the religion of 62% of Malaysia's populace, and a former lex loci of the peninsula, are so intent on its legislation?

Is it trite that Hudud, being but one small aspect of the Islamic Criminal Law, is barred from its applicability in Malaysia's legal biosphere? The answer is a resounding NO. Other aspects of the Islamic Criminal Law already exist, examples include but is not limited to Hirabah (Waging war against the State/YDPA), Ta'zir (Judicial decisions); and Qisas (Murder).

There are also useful aspects to be considered if we can regard Hudud as an attempt at Criminal Law reform. Concepts such as Sadd az-Dzarai (arresting crime at its source) and Al-'Afwa (Pardon by the deceased's heirs) are two concepts which deserve serious thought.

People should find the middle path. Neither could claim superiority and neither should coerce the other to stand down without offering an olive branch. That is what is literally meant by the term 'Give and Take', it is not merely 'Give' right?

Obviously the current Criminal Law is insufficient to act as a deterrent and it would serve as a logical legal reform to review the existing stable of penalties and consider whether these should be revised or alternatives to be proposed. Would it be the end of the world if Hudud is seen as a legal reform initiative?

Stigma stating Hudud as being 'backward' or 'stone-aged' is no excuse if the law is actually effective. Having a most modern, consulted by hundreds of jurists with all the bells and whistles man ingenuity could offer would be rendered meaningless if the main mischief is not addressed - that is EFFECTIVENESS.

Sure Hudud may itself prove to be ineffective, but that requires application before decision. Talk about pre-judging persons, the same should apply to Hudud. We cannot and must not judge before we actually know what or who we are judging against. As Malays say, "Tak kenal maka tak cinta!"

Swimming with the Fishes (and guns)

I write in response to the Malaysian Inspector General of Police ("IGP") Khalid Abu Bakar's statement in trying his level best to justify the 44 guns that are found missing as enunciated in the Malaysian Auditor General's ("AG") Report for 2012.

According to the report, between 2010 and 2012, the police lost 156 units of handcuffs, 44 units of firearms, 29 vehicles, 26 walkie-talkies, 22 radios, 6 cameras, 4 computers, 1 cell-phone and 21 unspecified items.

Teresa Kok of the DAP immediately went for the kill and sought clarification whether the missing firearms could have any connection with the rising guns related crime and deaths. In response, the Malaysian Inspector General of Police ("IGP") Khalid Bakar's came with a gem off the cuff excuse that the guns may not have fell into the wrong hands but may have instead "fell into the sea!"

Today, 3 October 2013 the IGP further mentioned that the AG was not up to date in his calculations, pointing out that seven (7) guns have since been recovered. So the number is NOT 44!! it is ONLY 37!!

Talk about missing the point!

Guns, no matter how many, 44 or 37 or 5, the Royal Malaysian Police ("RMP") must be castigated as to why this was allowed to happen. With the spike in gun-related violence and murder, surely any reasonable Malaysian and not only a DAP lawmaker, could connect the two together? The onus rests on the RMP to debunk this, however miraculous the effort.

Remember that Nallakaruppan, who is political history, was once arrested on 12 August 1998 under both the Firearms Act and the Internal Security Act (ISA) for merely possession of bullets, and he had a valid license at the time!

If the full brunt of the law was implemented against him, why not against the RMP? Is there a separate Schedule in the Federal Constitution to allow leeway to RMP personnel?

You can try to use Utusan to spin it off. Hell maybe you can even consider Khairy Jamaluddin when he tried (to no success) to defend his cushy Ministerial seat by according some flimsy justification for the RM1.6 million K-Pop originally said to be 'sponsored' and suddenly AFTER THE AG REPORT it became 'forced government expenditure' similar to insurance uinderwriters.

Since when did the Malaysian government become underwriters and indemnified private corporate sponsors?

I dare the RMP or the IGP himself reprimand the AG for highlighting these issues in the name of "National Security". Which begs the question, how many gross negligence cases such as these have been swept under the carpet under the same notion?

You tell me.

Beyond the Facade: DAP Elections and a Frustrated Malay(sian)

I am writing in protest against DAP members (not leadership) who had voted in the recently concluded DAP Central Executive Committee ("CEC") elections replayed live on 29 September 2013.

Votes were cast, results announced and it was revealed that all seven (7) Malay candidates albeit one failed to win a CEC seat. My good friend chocolate extraordinaire Zairil Tan Sri Khir Johari was the eventual sole elected Malay CEC member. Karpal and Gobind Singh does not count as let's face it the latter is the son of the former and as for the former - who would dare cross swords with Karpal Singh though in a wheelchair?

What does this say? What does this mean?

For me, personally, I feel that the Chinese members in DAP have let Pakatan Rakyat and Malaysia down. When here and now we see enlightened Malaysians agreeing that affirmative actions should be based on needs rather than race, and that we should be sensitive and emphatical with the needs of the Chinese who have been ruthlessly denied Bumi housing discounts all this while, we see that the voting membership in DAP feels that it is OK to remain a Chinese party. Malay-centric policies like DEB should be REVISED they say, but then THIS is allowed to happen?

DAP is obligated to show its inclusivity by having more non-Chinese members. Social change demands fair representation. It is bad enough that DAP contests wholly in Chinese dominant areas, but the fact remains that there are Malays, Indians and others that voted for DAP. Do not fall into UMNO's trap of saying "the Chinese are against BN", let us say "Malaysians are against BN".

How to meet this? how to achieve this? educate? inculcate? that I leave to the DAP leadership. The problem is on your plate. Until and unless this is not rectified, DAP will remain to become a Chinese party with token memberships from other races. The leadership's call for others to be inclusive and racially-blind would be meaningless as they are not walking the talk.

Until there are more balanced representations, all this talk about DAP fighting for the Malays, Indians and our other Malaysians remain hot air.

Isu Nama Allah

Sejak zaman Kesultanan Melayu Melaka, kita semestinya menyamakan para Sultan Melayu sebagai seorang Islam, yang bertutur bahasa Melayu, yang mengikuti adat resam Melayu dan sebagainya. Namun sedarkan kita bahawa orang Melayu asalnya adalah penganut Hindu? Kesannya daripada Paduka Raja Parameswara yang hanya memeluk Islam dan menukar agamanya kepada Raja Iskandar Shah?

Saya merasakan perlu untuk memberikan pendapat berkenaan isu diatas memandangkan ia diberi liputan meluas dan dikaitkan pula oleh media massa termasuk parti munafik UMNO dan juak-juak mereka dalam BN untuk mengoncangkan keyakinan Rakyat terhadap Pakatan Rakyat. Saya berdiri teguh bahawa Pakatan Rakyat harus mengenepikan isu furu' ini dan bekerjasama atas dasar-dasar yang sama untuk menyelamatkan dan memajukan Malaysia.

Mereka dikira berjaya juga menimbulkan kegelisahan diantara mereka yang kurang ilmu dan paling kurang pun berjaya menyentuh fius seorang pelakon terkenal Patrick Teoh sehingga beliau mengeluarkan kata-kata yang boleh dikatakan sebagai menghina Islam.

Namun isu asasi disini bukanlah penggunaan nama Allah SWT, ia lebih berkisar kepada kejumudan sesetengah orang yang selama ini merasakan bahawa Islam itu asalnya daripada Tanah Melayu dan orang Melayu semestinya Islam.

Pada waktu itu bahasa yang digunakan adalah bahasa Melayu lama, namun yang selebihnya masih sama. Cuma sembahannya yang lain. Adat Melayu lainnya telah tercampur aduk dan akhirnya menjadi caca-merba antara elemen Islam dan elemen adat turun-temurun yang berorientasikan budaya Hindu. Kesannya masih terlihat kini dengan adat bersanding, mempercayai tahyulan dan berbagai lagi amalan yang tidak semestinya secocok dengan Islam.

Perlu diingatkan bahawa sehingga kini tahun 2012 terdapat banyak lagi amalan adat yang sememangnya bertentangan dengan Islam namun diterimapakai dan diuruskan pula oleh satu badan dibawah pihak kesultanan negeri sebagai pejabat Adat dan Agama Islam. Penggunaan ‘Yang Maha Mulia’ merupakan satu contoh pertentangan jelas dan merupakan penghinaan kepada Allah SWT.

Namun kesemua ini tidak dikira penghinaan kepada Islam.

Penyajian minuman keras dalam kapal terbang MAS, kelulusan judi dan penerimaan hasil judi kepada pendapatan negara, disamping kos perkahwinan yang melampau dan diluar kemampuan, badan zakat yang saban tahun melaporkan ‘lebihan zakat’ walhal TV3 konsisten melaporkan kewujudan golongan da’if miskin. Kesemuanya ini menunjukkan beberapa contoh perkara yang sepatutnya diselesaikan dahulu oleh orang Islam sebelum menyerang anutan orang lain yang kebetulan bertutur dalam bahasa Melayu.

Saya ingin menegaskan bahawa sememangnya ada usaha untuk propagasi agama Kristian dan sesungguhnya merasakan bahawa ada tujuan tersembunyi daripada mereka untuk menyebarkan anutan mereka. Namun saya mempersoalkan orang Islam yang fobia terhadap perkara ini. Mereka seolah-olah hilang akal dan berlakon bahawa tindakan ini tidak boleh berlaku kepada orang Melayu.

Islam adalah agama berdasarkan hujah dan keyakinan. Tidak gentar Islam kepada mana-mana suku, kaum mahupun negara. Manusia memerlukan Islam, Islam tidak perlu kepada manusia dari apa jua ceruk sekalipun.

Maka, saya berkeyakinan bahawa masyarakat Muslim perlu memperhebatkan ilmu Islam didada, bukannya dengan cara taqlid buta dan berkeadaan defensif kepada agama lain.

Tidak dinafikan, kita menyayangi Melayu dan menyayangi Islam. Kita mahu orang Melayu kekal Islam, kita mahu Islam sehingga kita mati. Tapi cara kita salah. Kita letakkan banteng rapuh yang sekiranya dicerobohi walau sekali, akan terlepas dan aqidah kita tergoncang. Maaf saya tidak setuju cara ini. Ia tidak tahan lama dan pegangan Islam sedia ada akan melalui kakisan dengan peredaran masa.

Seantero dunia Kristian kini, jika dilihat sebenar-benarnya mereka enggan dan tidak mahu menggunakan ‘Allah’ dan mahu menggunakan ‘Lord’ atau ‘God’ dan ‘Yahweh’. Paus Katolik juga pernah menafikan penggunaan perkataan ‘Allah’ dalam usahanya untuk menenangkan para Katolik daripada tuduhan beliau menggunakan perkataan ‘Allah’. Di Malaysia terbalik pula!

Saya beranggapan bahawa masyarakat Muslim di Malaysia sepatutnya menerima ia dengan tidak banyak masalah. Dalam surah Al-Fathihah telah dinyatakan Allah SWT sebagai ‘Tuhan sekalian alam’ dan bukannya ‘Tuhan orang Melayu’, pendapat yang disahkan oleh Yusuf al-Qaradhawi.

Sifat defensif yang ditonjolkan akan mencairkan imej ‘agama toleran’ dan menjadikan Islam sebagai ‘extreme’ akibat daripada tindakan drastik melampau seperti cadangan pembakaran Bible edisi Melayu oleh PERKASA. Dalam keghairahan mempertahankan Islam, kita pula menghina agama lain. Itu bukan diajar oleh Rasulullah SAW.

Nabi Muhammad s.a.w bersabda: “Ketahuilah! sesiapa yang menzalimi mu’ahid (rakyat bukan Islam) ataupun mengurangkan haknya, ataupun membebankannya di luar kemampuannya, ataupun mengambil sesuatu (hak) daripadanya tanpa kerelaannya, maka aku menjadi penentang sesiapa yang berbuat demikian itu pada Hari Kiamat”.

(Riwayat Abu Daud, sahih)

Cara terbaik adalah dengan ilmu. Didiklah anak bangsa dengan ilmu Islam. Dengan penghayatan atau tafaqquh fi ad-diin, maka benteng aqidah kukuh dan dapat memantul segala serangan. Bersihkan negara daripada elemen Islam hanya berdasarkan label, pisahkan pejabat adat dan Islam, perhebatkan majlis ilmu dan promosikan Islam kepada generasi muda. InsyaAllah masalah ini akan selesai, dan mereka boleh cetak dan gunakan nama Allah SWT sebanyak-banyaknya tanpa hal.

Berkenaan Majlis Syura pula, saya merasakan bahawa ayat 'wa amruhum syuraa bainahum' memberitahu kita bahawa kita perlu mendapatkan kehadiran wakil Kristian sebelum mengeluarkan keputusan.

#KL112: Res Ipsa Loquitur!

I fear if Pakatan were to be as free and restraint-free as these UMNO goons as to what would happen to Najib Razak in Permatang Pauh, Marang or Ipoh Timur?

To be very, very honest I was quite gobsmacked and was in confusion when I heard from one of my favourite maestre Tukar Tiub Hishamuddin Rais that there was a sequel to the already massive BERSIH 3.0 to be held this Saturday, 12 January 2012, namely for a mega-rally dubbed #KL112.

Coupled with his obvious disdain for apocalypse that makes the Mayan Grand-Witch doctor fume with rage, Tukar Tiub went on the offensive against his arch-nemesis the United Malays National Organisation (of which he stubbornly refuse to dub otherwise) by enlisting the NGO, opposition parties, the punks and skinheads; to be honest everything under the unfalling sky that is 'Anything But UMNO' or more affectionately known as ABU; in joining forces (again) to pressure Najib Razak into a position that would make the late Bobby Fischer, Gary Kasparov and Anatoly Karpov blush with admiration.

For here are the facts: (1) Najib Razak has now been drawn into a corner (yet again) in his pussy-footing over calling for the 13th Malaysian General Elections. If Najib Razak deals with this rally with force as was what had happened in BERSIH 3.0, he would face another big, big backlash among the young voters, of whom believe that freedom of assembly should not be curtailed. On the other hand, if he gives in and allows the demo to proceed, he would obviously be regarded as a reformer, though would be at loggerheads with the far-rightist in his right wing organisation including (but not limited to) PERKASA, who is UMNO's step-sister on his stepdad's side twice removed.

(2) All these very tall tales of UMNO and BN's 'transformation' would again be rendered bland if heavy-handedness were to prevail. All BRIMs, KRIMs and stuff would be effectively neutralised and Najib would be left trying to salvage his efforts through ANOTHER round of an mandatory but improved BRIM etc with maybe a RM3000 payout financed by IMF loans this time around and blaming it to Anwar Ibrahim.

(3) Malaysia has high domestic and extra-terrestrial debts for which is well documented which runs to more than a couple of hundred billion Ringgits - nothing much. But Najib Razak knows that corruption of the citizenry has a very high price - that is the Rakyat will feel that they deserve it and that the next handout MUST be more than the previous. At the rate he is going by labelling everything under the sun as being 1Malaysia, we will have a very difficult time finding out what is NOT 1Malaysia. Desperation has seen that even recycled bread is now fielding that name, no matter how ingenius the idea was.

(4) UMNO has felt the pressure and this has even cascaded down into UMNO supporters resorting to thugs and criminality the nature and viciousness of which was hitherto unknown. Their support for such outrage via tacit approval is easily seen by statements that blame Anwar Ibrahim's "Jelajah Merdeka Rakyat" (for example) as "carik pasal" or "asking for trouble" even "provoking the locals".

(5) Pakatan Rakyat offers the Rakyat a different brand of politics. The type of which is alien to UMNO and Barisan Nasional. A creed that allows critical thinking, allow freedom of expression and working together as one without differentiation among race or faith. For far too long have we fought vainly for internal and local power when the only winners are the taukeys and UMNOPutras. Pakatan Rakyat fights for the state to help the deserving, no matter of which creed, of whatever faith and race, and to focus Malaysia as a coherent and united nation in addressing global challenges, which would be critical when PETRONAS suddenly could not afford to be the PM's sugar daddy.

PAS and DAP has their own sets of beliefs, of which both are well aware of, especially in their conradictions. However it is the realisation that unification based on undisputed premises that augur well for Pakatan Rakyat. The realisation that the nation must be navigated through the waters of freedom from corruption, from religious persecution, from undemocratic and despotic desperados, and those who sees the other as less a human being than themselves.

All these and more, I personally will make a stand on January 12, 2013. Come what may I will stand resolute. Together with my brothers and sisters from all races, be they Indians, Chinese, Malays, Ibans, Kadazans, Bajaus, I will be proud to stand beside them for our better future.

Best Way to Introduce Yourself

Who is the most important audience? Hint: It's not the people you meet.

Whenever you introduce yourself, the person you meet is not the most important audience.

You are the most important audience. Here's why.

I like to ride bicycles. I'm not super fit. And I'm not super fast. But I like riding, and in weak moments occasionally even think of myself as a "cyclist."

So occasionally I ride in mass participation events like gran fondos. The average participant tends to be a serious cyclist: Many are triathletes, some are amateur racers, and occasionally even a few professionals show up. I live in a valley between two mountain ranges, so our events are not for the faint of fitness.

I was standing in the start area for a gran fondo that involved climbing four mountains when a man rolled over towards me. My guess is he picked me out since I was clearly one of the older riders in the field. (That was a delightful sentence to write.) As he stopped he struggled to unclip from his pedals and almost fell.

"Morning," he said, the bass in his voice turned up to 10. "I'm Louis Winthorpe III*. I'm the CEO of WeKickSeriousButt Enterprises."

"Jeff," I said. I shook his hand.

"I am really looking forward to this," he said. "I could use the break to recharge the old batteries. Just in the last few days I've had to finalise a huge contract, visit two of our plants, and sign off on plans for a new marketing push."

How do you respond to that? "Wow, you've been busy," was the best I could manage.

"Oh, not really," he said, trying and failing to seem humble. "Just same stuff, different day. I just wish I wasn't so busy. I only have time to do the shorter course today. I would have absolutely killed the long ride. What about you?"

"I'm afraid the long ride is going to kill me," I said.

"Feel free to latch on to my wheel," he said, referring to drafting in another rider's slipstream. "I'll tow you along for as long as you can hang with me." Then he slowly and carefully clipped into one pedal and wobbled away.

Cocky? Full of himself? Sure, but only on the surface: His $12,000 bike, pseudo-pro gear, and "I rule the business world" introduction were an unconscious effort to protect his ego. What his introduction really said was, "While I might not turn out to be good at cycling, that's okay because out in the real world, where it really matters, I am The Man."

While he introduced himself to me, he was his real audience.

And that's a shame. For the next six or eight hours he could have just been a cyclist. He could have struggled and suffered and maybe even rekindled the ember of youth inside us that burns a little less brightly with each passing year.

How do you introduce yourself? When you feel insecure, do you prop up your courage with your introduction? Do you include titles or accomplishments or "facts" when you don't need to?

If so, your introduction is all about you, not your audience.

Instead:

See less as more.

Brief introductions are always best. Provide the bare minimum the other person needs to know, not in an attempt to maintain distance, but because during a conversation more about you can be revealed in a natural, unforced, and therefore much more memorable way.

Stay in context.

If you meet another parent at a school meeting, for example, just say, "Hi, I'm Mark. My daughter is in third grade." Keep your introduction in context with the setting. If there is no real context, like at a gran fondo, just say, "Hi, I'm Mark. Good luck."

Embrace understatement.

Unless you're in a business setting, your job title is irrelevant. Even if you are in fact the CEO of WeKickSeriousButt Enterprises, just say you work there. To err is human. To err humble is divine.

Focus on the other person.

The other person is the only person that matters. Ask questions. Actually listen to the answers. The best connections never come from speaking; the best connections always come from listening.

That day I rolled into the finishing area well over six hours later. I stopped and slumped over my handlebars beside a small cluster of riders who had finished well before me. They were already changed and working on a post-ride beer.

One of them looked over and said, "How was it?"

"It sucked," I said.

They all laughed, and he said, "And it was awesome, right?"

I smiled, because it was. He reached over and gave me a fist bump. "I'll grab you a beer and you can tell us all about it," he said. I looked forward to the conversation more than the beer. Acceptance and camaraderie are earned by effort, not granted by title.

At that moment I happened to see Louis, sitting alone as he packed up his gear. I felt a twinge of sadness because he never allowed himself to just be a rider. He never gave himself the chance to fit in, enjoy a shared purpose, and to simply be a cyclist among cyclists.

When you introduce yourself, embrace the moment and the setting for what it says about you in that moment, not in comparison to your titles or accomplishments.

Just be whoever you are, skills and struggles and triumphs and failures and all. You are your true audience, even when you introduce yourself.

Always be yourself--especially to yourself.

Creating the perfect CV has become even more important with the growth of online job hunting. Many employers now search online CV databases to find suitable candidates, looking for specific skills keyterms.

Your CV must tell prospective employers everything they need to know in order to decide whether or not you should be interviewed. A good CV will highlight relevant skills and experience and draw attention to you as a jobseeker.

Although everyone's CV is unique to them, if you follow some basic principles you will be able to put together a clear, concise and persuasive CV that gets you noticed.

An employer will expect to find information covering the following areas:

Personal details — name, address, phone numbers and an email address. You may wish to add your nationality, date of birth and driving licence status, but these are not obligatory.
Work experience — list the most recent first, continuing in reverse date order. Describe your work experience in short sentences using straightforward, positive language. As well as describing the jobs, highlight any general abilities you were required to demonstrate.
Education — list brief details of qualifications, such as GCSEs, A-levels or degree, along with grades. If you are applying for your first job since school, college or university, include this information above work experience.
Skills — include specific skills such as IT skills or languages
References — Put your references on a separate sheet of paper to save space. See our guide on how to create a separate references document. When you do, include names and contact details of two referees, one of which should be your most recent employer. Graduates and school leavers with limited work experience can nominate college lecturers, teachers or managers during work experience. Be sure to tell your referees!

Presentation

DO NOT

Leave any gaps in your work record. Employers may assume the worst, for example that you were sacked.
Lie. Many employers can check CV details for accuracy, including educational qualifications, places of study and job references.
Include a photo unless you know the employer wants one.
Fax it without sending a copy in the post as well.
Use elaborate fonts, or colours. Keep it simple and clear.
Forget it's just a tool for getting you an interview. The CV will not land you the job alone, the rest is up to you.

Cover letters - a practical guide

Your cover letter is your introduction to a potential employer. How do you want that presentation to be? Do you want it to be professional, clear and full of purpose or do you want it to be unfocused, messy and hard to follow? The answer may be obvious but how to write a good cover letter isn't. Follow these tips, and you'll go a long way to creating a great first impression.

Before you start writing, research the company and its industry. Most companies now have an elaborate website with a mission statement, quarterly reports, press releases and staff bios. Trade papers can help you research the industry. Reading these pages, along with carefully going through the job description, will give you an idea of where the company wants to be headed and the kind of people they want to hire to get there. News from CareerStructure.com will also help you to keep up to date on the latest projects taking place in the industry.

Carefully think about what you can offer the company. In practical terms, this means understanding how your skills apply to the job. Mentioning past work achievements is great for this, because not only does it help communicate how your skills apply to the position but it also shows you have excelled in some facet of a previous job. And achievements aren't just awards. Was a project able to be completed ahead of time because of your efforts? Did you help a previous employer find new projects to work on? These are the kinds of things a recruiter would love to hear.

First paragraph

This is a very straightforward paragraph. Keep it short, just two or three sentences long. You want to tell the recruiter:

What position you are applying for — be specific so there is no doubt.
How you heard about the position if it's relevant, such as in the case of a mutual contact.
And, most important, why you are interested in the position. Be brief and specific. Sweeping statements will not work.

I am writing in response to your advertisement for an architect. Having worked as an architect in several projects both in the UK and abroad, I am confident that I can contribute to your firm's projects and goals.

Second paragraph

This paragraph is the meatiest. In essence, you want to write why you are qualified for the position, but you want to be clear and concise. Choose two or three points you want to get across. Focus on experiences and the qualities you exhibited. Here is where you can mention achievements at work. In some cases you may have to break up the paragraph if it gets too long.

When writing this section, remember:

Use specific examples in your career, as they go a long way in helping the recruiter understand, and remember, your abilities.
Just use this as a place to repeat block passages of your CV. Your CV lays out your work experience; your cover letter explains how those experiences apply to the job at hand.
Mention the job and the company. This shows the recruiter you are really thinking about what you can bring to the job.

Example:

I began my career 12 years ago, and since then I have been a valuable asset to my employers by helping projects complete on time, being an integral part in acquiring the right planning permissions in the UK and in overseas markets and working with suppliers to keep costs low. At ABC Company, I was the architect on an urban development project in India. We completed that project ahead of time, thanks to being able to work efficiently with the right representatives to begin the project. Then at DEF Company, I created forward-thinking designs that used eco-friendly materials. Securing the materials was an important part of this project. I enjoy challenges, and I can assure you that my experience, knowledge and track record to date make me a strong candidate for this role.

Final paragraph

This is the wrap-up, but you still want to be sure you mention certain key things. In particular, you want to:

Refer to the enclosed CV.
Request an interview to further discuss your candidacy. Specify when you are available.
And thank the recruiter for taking the time to consider you for the position.

Example:

I have attached my CV with this letter. I would love the opportunity to meet with you and discuss my candidacy further. I am available for an interview after the 15th of next month. Thank you for taking the time to consider me for this position.

Check before you send

Now that you have completed the letter, it is very important you read through it and check for misspellings and grammatical mistakes. Most text editors are good at checking spelling, except when it comes to names. Make sure you have the company's correct address and that you have spelled the person's name correctly. It's ideal if you can get someone else to read the letter and give you feedback.

Also, be sure you've included all the information the job description asks for in a cover letter. Some companies want you to include extra information, such as salary requirements and start date availability. That being said, there's no requirement to include personal information like your marital status or age. In most cases it's not relevant to your suitability for the role. Any requests for personal information should be stated and explained in the job description, such as the need for a clean driving licence, for example. There's no need for you to justify lifestyle choices such as why you want to work part-time.

Final thoughts

You may be tempted to use the same cover letter for several jobs. It may save you time but is it really going to help you get the job? You should see a cover letter as an opportunity to convince the recruiter you're the right person for the job. If they are reading your cover letter, that means they are interested in you. Ask yourself what kind of introduction you want to make.

Zahid Hamidi's Obsession for New Toys

I refer to this article by the Malay Mail Online. It was found after reading Zahid Hamidi's assertion that the Eurofighter should replace our 'formidable' legion of ... 10 MiG 29s.

As with all BN and UMNO mindsets, they have no 'maintenance' mentality. Japan, for instance, has been using the same public bus skeleton for more than 25 years, but has improved its engines and technology. Much less could be said in London. Where the black taxi cabs has been in use for ages but has been internally improved.

In Malaysia, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out why this maintenance culture is absent. Forget about Mahathir's 'Look East' policy as these cartoons in the lofty offices of Putrajaya are either obsessed getting rich for themselves or getting contracts for their followers to secure their 'loftiness'.

It does not also require the brains of an emigrant Malaysian brain surgeon to figure out that new contracts have higher contract value and shorter payment regime than a time consuming Operation & Maintenance Contract. Whilst the latter option is cheaper and financially beneficial to the country in the long run, since when do UMNO and BN gives a crap about national interest? especially vis-a-vis personal or spouse interest?

As a Pakatan Rakyat supporter, of course I would see that this is in fact a leeway for me to capitalise and further embarrass UMNO and BN but the sinking feeling is this, why are we even MENTIONING that we only have 10 operational MiGs in service? Wouldn't THIS, in comparison with imprisoning a soft-spoken doctor for communist links, worth more adverse national security risk?

Also, with 6 MiGs already decommissioned, wouldn't it make perfect sense to purchase more MiGs, re-commission the 6 on the sidewalk, and continue to purchase arms and spare parts for the same type of plane? wouldn't this make more economic sense?

I am probably talking to a wall here. Memory suddenly clicked and reminded me of the oft-changing educational policy of Malaysia. PPSMI ring a bell? Interlok?

This is ANOTHER WASTAGE by UMNO and BN. Not only we look bad on procurement, we also look bad (and even look ripe for conquest!) internationally. The MiGs are the best we have right now? we only have 10. And look guys! I am telling you how many there are because domestically it gives us the "ooh" and the "aaahhs" and may even give us a few extra votes! National security? International espionage? I think those Mossad agents would have a field day with all the 'gaji buta' they'll be getting for after all in Malaysia, we serve confidential info on a silver platter.

Why the hell James Bond did a movie here is mind boggling.

Najib: You Will Fall Because of Imelda Rosmah!

I have never been amazed by this woman. A former wife to a favourite newsreader of mine, Farid Ismeth Emir of RTM, I only realised her existence on Najib's ascension to the deputy premiership. I was already familiar with Imelda Marcos however, with her penchant for luxuries resulting in suffering for her people.

The Tunisian President, Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali, and his wife, Leila Trabelsi, who hoarded wealth beyond what they could've ever legally mustered in two lifetimes, did not only enact the initial fall of the Arabian domino, but have inadvertently led in a miraculous fashion, the downfall of Barisan Nasional in Malaysia.

Legally, no person should be responsible for any indirect or consequential liability. However, in politics anything is possible. And the people's wrath against rulers (or actually ruler's wives for that matter) squandering its citizens' wealth for their own delusions of grandeur, may turn viral and, in the context of a global village, infect so many yet so far.

The above premise does come with a proviso however. That the ruler (effective ruler that is, not a rubber stamp who only barks upon their business deals are under threat), learns from these events and not to condone the act themselves.

It would not be quite a complicated logic to follow. One who touches fire will get burnt. But of course logic is only available to those who are not somehow addicted. As a compulsive gambler or alcoholic, addiction to life's finer luxuries, as evidenced by our dear Kak Ros, is a habit not so easily diminished.

And so it comes to pass. The compulsive spender (of other people's money) has led to a customs officer being sufficiently fired up, after all the incessant tax-paid government propaganda for the Rakyat to change their lifestyle, for him to take pics with his smartphone of the scrawny and somewhat shadowy transaction of a Jacob & Co. USD24 million diamond ring transaction attributable to none other than Her Excellency the First Lady, Rosmah Mansor.

A police report was lodged with the Malaysian publicity-crazy Police Force by Chegubard's SAMM and whilst we do know that it will fall on deaf ears, we do know that the Rakyat's eardrums are not as mute. And as we do know that Najib Razak will slap his forehead with his wife's latest antics, Rosmah has added a serrated nail to his already forged coffin.

And that is not all. A new bangle has been pictured with Rosmah with a value to the tune of millions of Ringgit.

Let us see how principled BN/UMNO representatives are in when this gets to the Dewan Rakyat. I know it will be shot down by the Speaker, but the inherent grouses in their hearts against such disgusting tirade by the premier's wife will leave marks so indellible, that BERSIH 2.0 organisers would think that their 8 point demands for electoral reform has gone down to 7.

However, authorities have misinterpreted and qualified this right through the use of ultra-vires and outdated counter-insurgency legislation by detaining opposition leaders to the extent of wearing yellow t-shirts are deemed as illegal.

IV. Facts of the complaint

Detail, in chronological order, the facts and circumstances of the alleged violations. Include all matters which may be relevant to the assessment and consideration of your particular case. Please explain how you consider that the facts and circumstances described violate your rights.

My case is as follows:

1. The detention of more than 100 citizens for promoting the electoral reform rally and the charge of ‘waging war against the King’. Lawyers and family were denied six (6) times to meet the detainees. Upon being charged, the detainees (including a member of Malaysia’s Parliament) were detained without the need for trial under an Emergency Ordinance, which were originally intended for communist insurgency purposes.

2. Complete lockdown of the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur by road-blocks and incessant questioning of drivers and passengers who, for whatever reason, has a tinge of yellow (for yellow is the official colour of the electoral rally)

3. Barrage of attacks (including DDOS) to independent online media (especially MalaysiaKini) besides slander being issued on television and online stating that public demonstrations are a waste of time, a danger to national security and economic loss.

4. Arrests of citizens wearing yellow shirts, shoes and other clothing for fear of promoting the electoral reform rally dubbed BERSIH 2.0.

5. The Prime Minister Mr. Najib Razak has offered a stadium in lieu of street demonstrations. Malaysia’s King offered to mediate and also proposed the stadium which was met with agreement by BERSIH 2.0 organisers. However, the offer turned sour. Najib Razak suddenly went to Europe and the offer was left hanging. The stadium later refused to grant the rally, the Police Chief refused to allow a permit and everything turned haywire.

HISTORIC BERSIH 2.0 – TODAY I HAVE A DREAM…

The dawn of a new beginning will unfold this afternoon at 1400hrs in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Citizens of Malaysia, dubbed the “Rakyat”, will forever change the face of this glorious nation. Despite the arrests, roadblocks and unkept promises, the Rakyat from all ethnicities will march together in a resolute stand against the bigotry of UMNO and BN, converging at Stadium Merdeka.

UMNO has outlived its usefulness. Its latest sin was reneging on a deal made which was communicated to the Yang DiPertuan Agong, the King of Malaysia. The deal was for the march for Malaysian electoral reform, code named BERSIH 2.0, to be held in a closed stadium; notwithstanding it was against democratic principles, for the purpose of evading unnecessary public nuisance. The deal was brokered, tendered and His Royal Highness adjourned the meeting in a state of content – BERSIH 2.0 would be held in a stadium as per his royal request.

Rather than feeling content, UMNO showed its true colours against the royalty by snubbing the King Sultan Mizan, the undisputed supreme ruler of Malaysia. The Home Minister decided that the security risks were still present despite it being held in a closed stadium, to the chagrin of the Prime Minister; and the Police Chief ‘suddenly’ found a cache of weapons with, conveniently enough, some BERSIH 2.0 shirts. Without resorting to the cardinal and trite legal concept of ‘everyone is innocent until proven guilty’, this protector of the law has, without hesitation, immediately claimed it was linked to BERSIH 2.0.

This was from the same police of the same government that accused the United States of ‘demonising’ Muslims in the wake of September 11; calling for the removal of ‘Islamophobia’ and for judgments to be based on evidence. All were thrown away in handling BERSIH 2.0. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

This day, will see at least 300,000 of the Rakyat, snowballing to more than twice the number, not minding what race they are from, what allegiances they show. The Rakyat will march hand in hand in denouncing the evil that is Barisan Nasional and UMNO. The Rakyat will demand that the electoral process be reformed comprehensively, and that silo-minded bodies such as the SPR be revamped totally.

There will no longer be lop-sided campaigning by the mass media. All contesting parties would be accorded the same amount of airtime. The electoral roll will be cleaned – and the 8 other persons registered in Azmin Ali’s house would not be able to vote any more.

Yes, I have a dream! A dream that with every walk the Rakyat takes today, is blessed with the prayers of the unborn Malaysians, of those who have been separated from his wife and family, of those who have been murdered, either in lockups or by C4 explosives, of the children of today who will inherit the Malaysia of tomorrow. I dream that with this momentous day, BN and UMNO will fold and implode under the staggering weight of peace loving Malaysians.

My brothers and sisters! Take your step one at a time! Forge ahead to Stadium Merdeka! Let us now define the true meaning of Merdeka! Be together notwithstanding creed! Be close together and not separated! And do not fret! For Allah SWT and his angels are with you with every step you take!

How to Deal with Present Day Rulers and Systems?

CATEGORY 5 - PROPHECIES REGARDING RULERS WHO WILL NOT FOLLOW AND IMPLEMENT ISLAM & ORDER OF NOT OBEYING THEM OR HELPING THEM OR SERVING THEM

HADITH # 16

حدثنا عبد الله حدثني أبي ثنا عبد الصمد ثنا حرب بن شداد بصري ثنا يحيى يعني بن أبي كثير قال عمرو بن زينب العنبري أن أنس بن مالك حدثه أن معاذا قال : يا رسول الله أرأيت إن كان علينا أمراء لا يستنون بسنتك ولا يأخذون بأمرك فما تأمر في أمرهم فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم لا طاعة لمن لم يطع الله عز و جل

Anas bin Maalik (May Allah be pleased with him) narrate that M’uaz bin Jabal said, “O Messenger of Allah! If rulers come on who do not follow your Sunnah, and not take your order, so what do you order us regarding them?” Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said, “There is no obedience for the one who does not obey Allah”.

Reference: Masnad Abu Y’ala (Hadith # 4046), Masnad Ahmed (Hadith # 13248), Sh’uaib Arnaoot says that its chain can be called Hasan, al-Albani authenticated in Aj Jami’ As Sagheer, Haithmi says it contain ‘Amr bin Zunaib and I don’t know him, rest of the narrators are Saheeh. Ibn Hibban considered ‘Amr bin Zunaib to be trustworthy.

LESSONS FROM THIS HADITH

There is no obedience to rulers who leave the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad and don’t rule according to Qur’an, because “There is no obedience for the one who does not obey Allah”.

HADITH # 17

عبد الله بن مسعود أن النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم قال سيلي أموركم بعدي رجال يطفئون السنة ويعملون بالبدعة ويؤخرون الصلاة عن مواقيتها فقلت يا رسول الله إن أدركتهم كيف أفعل قال تسألني يا ابن أم عبد كيف تفعل لا طاعة لمن عصى الله

Narrated Ibn Mas'ud: The Messenger of Allah said: "Some men will rule over you after me. They will kill the Sunnah and act based on bid'ah. And they will delay Salat beyond its time".

I (Ibn Mas'ud) asked: "If I meet them, what should I do?" The Messenger of Allah said: "You are asking me, O son of Umm Abdullah, what to do? There is no obedience to the one who disobeys Allah!”

Reference: Sunan ibn e Majah (Hadith # 2975), authentiacated by al-Albani in Saheeh Sunan ibn e Majah, and As-Saheeha.

LESSONS FROM THIS HADITH

Someone who is an enemy of Sunnah, and is innovating his own religion, and ruling according to it, it is so obvious that he is not to be followed, that Prophet Muhammad asked Ibn Mas’ud in surprise, "You are asking me, O son of Umm Abdullah, what to do?” and then again he repeated the rule “There is no obedience to the one who disobeys Allah!”

HADITH # 18

أخبرنا أبو عبد الله الصفار ثنا محمد بن إبراهيم الأصبهاني ثنا الحسين بن حفص عن سفيان عن أبي حصين عن عبد الرحمن بن بشير الأنصاري قال : أتى رجل فنادى ابن مسعود فأكب عليه فقال : يا أبا عبد الرحمن متى أضل و أنا أعلم ؟ قال : إذا كانت عليك أمراء إذا أطعتهم أدخلوك النار و إذا عصيتهم قتلوك

Abdur Rahman bin Basheer al-Alansaari reported that a man came and called Ibn e Masud (May Allah be pleased with him), so he turned towards him, so the man said, “O Abu Abdur Rahman ! When will (the ummah) go astray and how will I know? He said, “When there will be on you rulers, if you follow them, they will lead you to hell-fire and if you disobey them they will kill you”

Reference: Mastadrak al-Haakim (Hadith # 8424), the Hadith is mawquf, Ad-Dahabi authenticated it in his Talkhees. There is a similar narration in Masnaf Abu Shaiba (Hadith # 38389) and Masnaf Abdur Razzak (Hadith # 37234), with slight difference in wording: “if you follow them, they will lead you astray…”

LESSONS FROM THIS HADITH

Rulers will force us to enter a system, which will lead us to hell-fire, and if we try to revolt against them, they will crush us by their power; this is when the Ummah will go astray. Furthermore, there is a silent approval of rebellion against these rulers in the saying of Ibn Mas’ud (May Allah be pleased with him).

HADITH # 19

سيلي أموركم من بعدي رجال يعرفونكم ما تنكرون وينكرون عليكم ما تعرفون فمن أدرك ذلك منكم فلا طاعة لمن عصى الله عز و جل

“Some men will rule over you after me, who will show you what is not pleasing to you, and will dislike what is pleasing to you, whosoever from you reaches that time, then there is no obedience to the one who disobeys Allah”

Reference: Mastadrak al-Haakim (Hadith # 5530), hakim says it is according to the condition of the two shaikhs. Authenticated by al-Albani in As Saheeha (Hadith # 590). Narrated by ‘Ubada bin Saamit (May Allah be pleased with him).

LESSONS FROM THIS HADITH

It is not mentioned explicitly in this hadith but as the advice “then there is no obedience to the one who disobeys Allah” matches with the last two ahaadith, perhaps the disliked acts mentioned are not ruling according to the law of Allah.

HADITH # 20

أخبرنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله الصفار ثنا محمد بن إبراهيم الأصفهاني ثنا الحسين بن حفص ثنا سفيان عن الأعمش عن عمارة بن عمير عن أبي عمار عن حذيفة رضي الله عنه قال : يكون أمراء يعذبونكم و يعذبهم الله

Abu ‘Ammar narrates from Hudhaifa (May Allah be pleased with him) that he said, “There will be rulers who would punish you and Allah would punish them”

Reference: Mustadrak al-Haakim (Hadith # 8342), ad-Dahabi says it is according to the conditions of al-Bukhari and al-Muslim.

LESSONS FROM THIS HADITH

Rulers will come when you revolt against them, disapprove them, you will be punished by them, but Allah will give them their return in the hereafter, because you were on the right.

HADITH # 21

اسمعوا هل سمعتم أنه سيكون بعدي أمراء فمن دخل عليهم فصدّقهم بكذبهم، وأعانهم على ظلمهم فليس مني ولست منه، وليس بواردٍ علي الحوض، ومن لم يدخل عليهم ولم يُعنهم على ظلمهم، ولم يصدقهم بكذبهم فهو مني وأنا منه، وهو واردٌ علي الحوض

Ka’b ibn Ujrah (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) came to us and we were nine people made up of five and four either of the two numbers representing Arabs and non-Arabs. He said, “Listen! Have you heard that there will be after me, rulers? If anyone goes to them and, despite their falsehood, vouches for their truth and, despite their tyranny, helps them over their oppression, then he does not belong to me and I am not his and he will not make it to my pond. And as for him, who does not go to them and does not aid them in their oppression and does not vouch their lies to be true, he is of me and I belong to him and he will come to me at the pond.”

Reference: Jami’ Tirmidhi (Hadith # 2259), Saheeh at Targheeb wat Tarheeb (Hadith # 2244), Sunan an Nasai (Hadith # 4207, 4208), Saheeh ibn e Hibban (Hadith # 283), Mustadrak al-Haakim (Hadith # 263, 264), M’ujam al-Kabeer (Hadith # 294, 295,296), Sunan al-Baihiqi al-Kubra (Hadith # 16445). Authenticated by al-Albani in Saheeh Jami’ Tirmidhi and Saheeh at-Targheeb wat Tarheeb and his grading of Sunan an Nasai, Shu’aib Arnaoot classified it as Sahih in his classification of Saheeh ibn e Hibban. Ibn e Hibban also quotes it from the father of Abdullah bin Khabab (Hadith # 284), Classified as Hasan by Sh’uaib Arnaoot.

Same hadith is narrated by Imam Ahmed with some addition, it starts as:

انها ستكون بعدي أمراء يكذبون ويظلمون…

“Verily, there will be rulers after me, who will lie and be oppressive… ” (to the end of hadith)

Masnad Ahmed bin Hanbal, Hadith # 18151, Sh’uaib Arnaoot says that its chain is ‘Sahih’.

Another narration in Mustadrak al-Haakim (Hadith # 265) starts as:

أمراء يكونون من بعدي لا يهتدون بهديي و لا يستنون بسنتي…

“There will be leaders after me, who will not take guidance from what I’ve brought, and not act according to my Sunnah (way)….” (to the end of hadith)

Another narration quoted by Tabarani in al-awsat (Hadith # 764) and al-kabeer (hadith # 354), which is found in Masnad At-Tayalsi (Hadith # 1164,1060) as well, starts as :

إن بعدي أمراء يعملون بغير طاعة الله…

“There will be leaders after me, who will act without obeying Allah…” (To the end of hadith)

LESSONS FROM THIS HADITH

Rulers will come, who rule without obeying Allah, they will not take guidance from the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad and Qur’an, they will also be oppressive, he who accepts them and supports them doesn’t belong to Prophet Muhammad and he who does not go to them, does not support them, and doesn’t accept their lies, for him is a glad tiding that “he is of me and I belong to him and he will come to me at the pond”.

HADITH # 22

خبرنا أحمد بن علي بن المثنى قال : حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم المروزي قال : أخبرنا جرير بن عبد الحميد عن رقبة بن مصقلة عن جعفر بن إياس عن عبد الرحمن بن مسعود عن أبي سعيد و أبي هريرة قالا : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم : ( ليأتين عليكم أمراء يقربون شرار الناس ويؤخرون الصلاة عن مواقيتها فمن أدرك ذلك منكم فلا يكونن عريفا ولا شرطيا و لا جابيا ولا خازنا(

Narrated Abu Saeed and Abu Hurairah: The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: "Mentally deficient rulers will come to you, and make the most evil, worst people near to them, and delay the prayer (not pray it at the fixed time). Every one of you, who realizes that, must not be policemen, not a corporal, not a collector and not a treasurer with them."

Reference: Ibn Hibban (Hadith # 4586), Sh’uaib Arnaoot classified it to be weak, because he said Abdur Rahman bin Mas’ud is ‘majhul’, other scholars like Ibn Hajr Asqalani have classified him to be trsutworthy. Abu Ya’la (Hadith # 1115), Authenticated by Hasan Saleem, and he said Abdur Rahman bin Mas’ud is trsuthworthy. Tabarani Majma Sagheer (Hadith # 9498). Majma Zawaid (Hadith # 9225), Haythami said narrators are sahih and trustworthy. Classified as Sahih by al-Albani in Silsilah As-Sahiha (Hadith # 360) and he deemed the narrator to be Abdur Rahman bin ‘Abdullah. Al-Albani said that it had other chains too. In Saheeh at-Targheeb al-Albani classified it to be ‘Hasan lighairihi’.

Haakim has also quoted the hadith (Hadith # 4777), and he authenticated it. The same wording is also quoted in a ‘mawquf’ hadith from ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud in M’ujam al-Kabeer and Masnaf Abdur Razzaq.

LESSONS FROM THIS HADITH

Rulers will come who will not rule according to the religion of Allah (delaying prayers is equivalent to not implementing Islam as it is), and will be pleased with evil, he who realizes this corruption, should not support these leaders. He should not be a policeman and help him implement the false laws. He should not be a treasurer and collector and manage the finances of his rule. So, no one should directly help him in his evil.

HADITH # 23

عن أبي أمامة قال : سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم : سيكون في آخر الزمان شرطة يغدون في غضب الله ويروحون في سخط الله فإياك أن تكون من بطانتهم

Abu Umama (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he heard Allah’s messenger say, “ In the end times, there will be police men who get up in the morning under the wrath of Allah, and get into the evening with the wrath of Allah, so beware, don’t be one of them”.

Reference: Tabari quoted in M’ujam al-Kabeer (Hadith # 8346).Authenticated by al-Albani in Saheeh al-Jami (Hadith # 3666). Ibn Hajr quoted it in Qaul al-Musaddad and he says its chain is ‘Sahih’.

LESSONS FROM THIS HADITH

Being a policeman, someone who implements the law, is not always a noble job, it becomes noble only when you enforce the correct laws (the laws of Allah), and someone who acts 24/7 to implement the accursed man-made laws is actually spending all his time disobeying Allah.

HADITH # 24

أبا هريرة يقولا قال رسول الله صلی الله عليه وسلم يوشک إن طالت بک مدة أن تری قوما في أيديهم مثل أذناب البقر يغدون في غضب الله ويروحون في سخط الله

Abu Huraira (May Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: If you survive for a time you would certainly see people who would have whips in their hands like the tail of an ox. They would get up in the morning under the wrath of Allah and they would get into the evening with the anger of Allah.

Reference: Sahih al-Muslim, Mastadrak al-Haakim (Hadith # 8344, 8347), Authenticated by al-Albani in As-Saheeha (Hadith # 1893). Also narrated by Abu Umamah (May Allah be pleased with him).

A narration in Mastadrak al-Haakim starts with “In the end of times…”

A narration in M’ujab al-Kabeer at-Tabarni (Hadith # 8000) starts as, “In my Ummah there will be people…”

Masnad Ahmed bin Hanbal (Hadith # 22204) also contains the words معهم أسياط: “with them they will have sticks”

LESSONS FROM THIS HADITH

Those policemen who are detested for their acts (like the previous hadith) would be from amongst this Ummah as well.

APPLICATION OF THESE AHAADITH IN THE PRESENT WORLD

With all the haram around, it is very tough to draw a line between halal and haram matters because of the so much doubtful matters in between. It’s very tough to say joining which organization is clearly haram, and in which case we'll be regarded as 'm'azur' (having a valid excuse). So, the best way out is to advise everyone, that if you are not participating actively to overturn the secular system imposed on you, atleast don't be a full-time employee of organizations which in essence strengthen the secular systems. All of us who are not actively participating against these systems are silent slaves of the secular systems, may Allah give hidayah to all those who are active slaves and protectors of these secular systems.

And there are people who argue that it’s allowed to be a policeman, but you should be ‘just’ to your job. I have few simple questions to ask these people:

Can you join a bank if you do your job sincerely and if your job doesn't involve direct involvement in Riba’? Why is it haram to be a security guard in a bank? Banks do many good jobs as well, it’s not only Riba’?

Can you join a robbing gang if you are just their taxi driver?

Can you join the US and NATO armies and just be their cook?

In the end, I would say, from a Muslim it is desired to involve in Halal, and keep away from Haram and doubtful things, And Prophet Muhammad had said “Both legal and illegal things are obvious, and in between them are (suspicious) doubtful matters. So who-ever forsakes those doubtful things lest he may commit a sin, will definitely avoid what is clearly illegal; and who-ever indulges in these (suspicious) doubtful things bravely, is likely to commit what is clearly illegal....." [Bukhari and Muslim], so one should not participate in organizations that strengthen the secular systems.

Sumpah Dalam Islam

Satu;

Mubahalah tidak berlaku dalam perkara jenayah. Ini kerana, perkara jenayah adalah melibatkan perkara yang berkait dengan mahkamah, sedangkan mubahalah tidak berlaku dalam mahkamah.

Dalam firman Allah tentang mubahalah [Al-Imran: 61], didapati mubahalah itu berlaku dalam perkara yang melibatkan pertembungan antara agama islam dengan agama kristian. Pertembungan antara agama, tidak pernah berlaku perdebatannya dalam mahkamah.

Dua;

Sumpah berlaku untuk mempertahankan diri, bukan untuk melakukan tuduhan kepada orang lain.

Nabi SAW ada bersabda;.
الْبَيِّنَةُ عَلَى الْمُدَّعِي وَالْيَمِينُ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ.

Maksudnya;

“datangkan bukti bagi orang yang menuduh, dan sumpah bagi orang yang dituduh”.
[At-tarmizi : 1261].

Jika bersumpah tidak dibenarkan dalam melakukan tuduhan, maka terlebih tidak boleh bersumpah untuk mengheret orang yang tertuduh.

Tiga;

Sumpah bagi orang yang dituduh seperti hadis di atas, adalah dengan perintah mahkamah. Sumpah yang berlaku diluar mahkamah, tidak termasuk dalam kandungan hadis yang disebutkan di atas.
Empat;

Bersumpah dalam masjid, hanya berlaku dalam bab Li’an. Dalam fiqh, Li’an bermaksud, “perkataan tertentu yang digunakan sebagai hujjah oleh orang yang terpaksa menuduh orang yang mencemarkan tempat tidurnya dan memberi malu kepadanya sebagai berzina”.

Dengan perkataan lain, Li’an bermaksud seseorang suami yang nampak isterinya berzina dengan lelaki lain, tetapi tidak dapat mendatangkan seramai empat orang saksi, maka hendaklah dia berkata, “Aku bersaksi demi Allah, aku berada di pihak yang benar terhadap dakwaanku bahawa isteriku [sebut nama dan bintinya] telah berzina”.

Perkataan ini hendaklah diucapkan sebanyak empat kali. Dan pada kali kelima, dia hendaklah berkata, “Aku dilaknati Allah sekiranya aku berbohong”. [Al-Fiqh Al-Manhaji : 4/903].
Ia berdalilkan kepada Firman Allah;.
وَالَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ أَزْوَاجَهُمْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُمْ شُهَدَاءُ إِلَّا أَنْفُسُهُمْ فَشَهَادَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ أَرْبَعُ شَهَادَاتٍ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ * وَالْخَامِسَةُ أَنَّ لَعْنَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ.

إِنْ كَانَ مِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ.

Maksudnya;

“dan orang-orang Yang menuduh isterinya berzina, sedang mereka tidak ada saksi-saksi (yang mengesahkan tuduhannya itu) hanya dirinya sendiri, maka persaksian (sah pada Syarak) bagi seseorang Yang menuduh itu hendaklah ia bersumpah Dengan nama Allah, empat kali, Bahawa Sesungguhnya ia dari orang-orang Yang benar * dan sumpah Yang kelima (hendaklah ia berkata): Bahawa laknat Allah akan menimpa dirinya jika ia dari orang-orang Yang dusta”.

SYARAT-SYARAT MUBAHALAH

Melihat kepada asbab nuzul kepada ayat ini, ulama menetapkan syarat-syarat mubahalah adalah seperti berikut;.

Pertama, hendaklah dilakukan dalam keadaan Ikhlas kerana Allah. Ia tidak boleh dilakukan dengan tujuan hawa nafsu, sebaliknya hendaklah digunakan dengan tujuan mempertahankan kebenaran atau menzahirkan kebenaran.

Kedua, hendaklah ia berlaku selepas dari pertikaian ilmu. Tanpa pertikaian terlebih dahulu, maka tidak seharusnya berlaku mubahalah. Dan mubahalah itu, hendaklah dalam perkara yang berlaku dalam perkara keilmuan.

For years since my advent in local politics, I have seen no other creature, that is so lacking of sound and mature political argument, than this disgusting abscess called Barisan Nasional.

They shamelessly propagate fear when canvassing for votes so much so that law and morality is, more often than not, chucked out into oblivion much like Khairy Jamaluddin's political career.

According to Reader's Digest, Malaysia has the highest population of deity believers. This may be due to the fact that we have only the Lord to pray to in order to deliver us from an unbelievably high cost of living and a bleak future due to economically incompetent leaders.

Even when religion seems like a taut cable holding us down onto the stable recesses of sanity, Barisan Nasional and its 99.99% shareholder UMNO, has no qualms using religion to instill fear for the sake of preservation of power.

"People fear what they don't understand" and I think it is this fear of BN being disintegrated, quartered and buried the day immediately after they lose the general elections is the main factor that encourages BN to continue stomping on law and ethics to win.

They fear change, as with all lengthy despotic regimes who have grown accustomed to power, and it is this fear that will prove dangerous to the people.

They will use all avenues, means and justifications to cling on, and in so doing they will show obliviousness that would make even nude swimmers in San Onofre cower in shame.

So far, they have resorted to media and legal manipulation, slander, distortion of facts and threats; which are the hallmarks of desperation. And only desperate people will drive immediately to the Astana on the night of an electoral victory to be Chief Minister.

This divide and conquer scenario has been practiced for far too long. Vague clarion calls such as "1Malaysia" which is meant to confuse the Rakyat as to its actual meaning, should automatically show to learned citizens that this current government of Malaysia has no class and dignity. The creation and dependance on citizen confusion to hold on to power underlies their incompetence.

UMNO, MCA and MIC has no one else but themselves should racial divide in this country has reached at an all time high. Pretty soon we will be hearing "Chinese Unite!" calls to save whatever scant reputation is left with MCA and SUPP. I don't even want to comment on UMNO, whose "steamroller" politics has laid waste to the 'other intent' of 1Malaysia time and again.

In the recently concluded Sarawak Elections, we can see how Islam is being defaced by Barisan Nasional billboards showing limbs being amputed, and caricatured chinamen suddenly becoming towelheads. and yet none of these have been rebuked by the state Islamic authorities. So much for the self-styled 'UMNO the Defenders of Islam'!

Like it or not, change WILL come. and sooner than later. I will be the first Malay Nostradamus to foretell you that, in the wake of BN and UMNO's collapse in the next general elections, the first person to piss on BN's grave will be those from the national front themselves.

ESKAY BERSAMA PELAKON DAN PELACUR!

Didalam persidangan lucah yang diberi kelulusan dan permit khas oleh pihak Polis untuk mengajak rakyat melihat filem lucah menurut undang-undang negara, kita mendengar 'rintihan' Datuk T yang mendakwa beliau 'disuruh' Anwar untuk mencari jam tangannya.

Eskay mendakwa beliau disuruh Anwar dan beliau menyelongkar bilik tersebut dan menemui 'wayar' dan beliau kemudiannya 'mengumpil' laci yang dikunci dan bertemu dengan perakam 'yang masih aktif'

Sebagai seorang peguam (yang bukan lagi pengamal aktif) saya dididik untuk bertanyakan soalan-soalan kritis agar ruang sangsi tidak wujud dan yang dituduh benar-benar bersalah. Ini adalah disebabkan antara prinsip utama undang-undang jenayah ialah "lebih baik melepaskan yang didakwa bersalah daripada menghukum yang tidak bersalah".

Dengan tidak menyentuh aspek pembuktian melalui Qaidah Syar'iyyah saya merasakan bahawa video tersebut (dan video yang disebar pada 5 April 2011) menimbulkan lebih banyak persoalan daripada jawapan. Soalan dan kemusykilan ini perlu disiasat oleh Pegawai Penyiasat Polis agar kebenaran ditegakkan. Polis perlu meletakkan dirinya lebih kepada membela Anwar kerana penyiasatan perlu menunjukkan bahawa tiada ruang lagi untuk Anwar menafikan penglibatannya dan tidak syak lagi, setelah melihat keterangan dan bukti sokongan, bahawa sememangnya Anwar yang terlibat.

Namun perlu diingatkan bahawa maruah PDRM telah tercalar sekian lama. Justeru adalah waras sekiranya siasatan dilakukan dengan tertib dan teratur. Pertama sekalinya trio Datuk T dan golongan pentadbir Carcosa Seri Negara perlu disiasat kerana telah melanggar seksyen 292 Kanun Keseksaan. Ini adalah kerana segala ramuan yang diperlukan untuk mendakwa mereka telah cukup dan sekiranya PDRM serius untuk mengembalikan maruah mereka, maka hasil siasatan hendaklah dihantar dengan segera kepada Peguam Negara untuk pendakwaan.

Setelah isu atas selesai, maka siasatan selanjutnya hendaklah kepada siapa yang merakamkan perbuatan tersebut kerana ia jelas bertentangan dengan seksyen 509 Kanun yang sama:

OF CRIMINAL INTIMIDATION, INSULT AND ANNOYANCE

509. Word or gesture intended to insult the modesty of a person.
Whoever, intending to insult the modesty of any person, utters any word, makes any sound or gesture, or exhibits any object, intending that such word or sound shall be heard, or that such gesture or object shall be seen by such person, or intrudes upon the privacy of such person, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to five years, or with fine, or with both.

Beberapa persoalan lain timbul dan IO perlu ambil perhatian:

1. Mengapa Eskay muncul dalam video sebelum 'adegan' itu bermula? Sekiranya ia bukan Eskay, siapakah dia? adakah dia 'Tuan Director' kepada lakonan amatur tersebut?

2. Mengapakah terdapat tulisan bahasa Thai didalam klip terbaru? apakah maksud tulisannya? bilakah ia dicipta? mungkinkah ia dibuat lebih awal daripada Februari 2011?

3. Mengapa Eskay 'terpaksa' mengumpil laci demi seutas jam tangan? laci hotel mana yang mempunyai kunci untuk laci? bukankah laci-laci dihotel tiada kunci?

4. Siapakah perempuan Cina terbabit? dari manakah asalnya? sekiranya Eskay menyatakan beliau 'disuruh Anwar' mencari jam tangan, dan beliau mengaku menggeledah seluruh bilik tersebut, bagaimana pula jam tersebut boleh berada ditangan Eskay? sekiranya Eskay bersekongkol dengan perempuan Cina terbabit dan telah menyuruh perempuan tersebut mencuri jam Anwar, mengapa pula beliau 'tidak tahu' dimana jam tersebut berada?

Dengan mengambil kira persoalan diatas dan melihat pula kaedah dan tindakan sebenar siasatan terhadap Anwar, dan juga tindakan PDRM yang lebih berminat menyiasat Anwar (sama seperti kes buku fitnah Khalid Jafri) saya merasakan PDRM, dengan menjalankan siasatan dengan tidak telus dan tersusun, telah mengakibatkan rakyat semakin bersimpati dengan Anwar. Ini adalah kerana tindakan PDRM dilihat lebih kepada melindungi Datuk T daripada melindungi 'mangsa' menurut takrif undang-undang negara.

Perlu diingatkan bahawa "Justice must not only be done, it must be seen to be done" maka tindakan PDRM didalam membenarkan penyiaran bahan lucah terbabit tanpa tindakbalas keras akan mengakibatkan rakyat semakin menyisihkan PDRM dan memperkuatkan dakwaan bahawa PDRM tidak lain dan tidak bukan hanyalah kuda tunggangan UMNO dan BN.

Siap sedialah kamu menghadapi hukuman rakyat nanti.

Datuk T: The Three Ghaplah Jinggas

AND AT LAST the trio had to reveal themselves for who they actually are. It is indeed a tribute to Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim's team who had no problems identifying these UMNO-sponsored personas barely 24 hours after they 'shook' the world with a sex tape which, in my opinion, has less steam than Chua Soi Lek's escapades.

Nazri Aziz's response in an interview with Malaysiakini TV showed the irresponsible side of him though he is a self-proclaimed 'knowledgable lawyer'.

His statement that Anwar should 'stop preaching morality when his own morale is questionable' cannot in any way be attributed to a person well read in Law. He presumes that as Anwar has been faced with many sex allegations, surely one of them is true, clearly demonstrates this excuse of a Law Minister on how he perceives the concept of justice.

If his distorted logic were to be taken as a rule, surely Rahim Tamby Chik, Jamaludin Jarjis and even Najib Razak himself should be found guilty due to multiplicity of accusations. I fear if one day BN decides to appoint him as a Federal Court Judge.

Back to the topic in question, these 3 stooges clearly have violated section 292 of the Penal Code, and referring to the statement of the current Inspector General of Police who have classified it as being investigated under that section I have to congratulate him for not being a pawn of BN and UMNO.

Now that refers to culpability under the civil law. In Islamic Law the trio has committed Qadzf, - or slanderous accusation of adultery. Clearly Muslim drunkards and sex offenders feel that there is no need to substantiate their actions by referring to Islamic Syari'ah sources. And it is amazing that neither JAWI nor JAIS see the public screening of pornography as a religious offence, they would rather debate on whether bibles are forbidden to christians themselves or not.

If UMNO is indeed as religious as the heights of their songkok claims to be, then it would follow that they would conform to Islamic Law, and not merely those parts of Islamic Law which may accord them political mileage!

In any event kudos to PKR investigators for quickly identifying the trio and forcing them to reveal their identities unwillingly. It proves that Anwar's circle of influence is more far-reaching than Najib's and this is a major concern for UMNO. These mules will continuously feed information to Anwar and with UMNO's weaknesses known, Pakatan Rakyat will walk to Putrajaya in the grandest of fashion.

Cabaran Hipokrit Mohd Noor Deris terhadap Nik Aziz

Prof Madya Mohd Noor Deris adalah makhluk kurang ajar yang tanpa segan dan malu sanggup memaki hamun Tuan Guru Nik Aziz di rumah bekas ADUN Galas yang meninggal dunia pada 30 Oktober 2010 di Kelantan.

Beliau juga pada bulan Februari 2011, setelah Nik Aziz bersetuju berdebat dengan Majlis Fatwa Kebangsaan, tiba-tiba menawarkan diri untuk berdebat dengan Nik Aziz untuk menunjukkan kehebatan diri beliau yang melantik dirinya sendiri sebagai Ketua Biro Agama Ulama' Veteran UMNO. Sesuatu yang pelik kerana jawatan itu tidak pernah dicipta sebelum ini. Namun jawatan itu 'secara rasmi' kini wujud kerana ia dikatakan membantu dalam usaha sia-sia UMNO menawan Kelantan.

Beliau bersungguh-sungguh berhajat untuk menunjukka betapa jeleknya Islam yang dipegang PAS dan betapa syumulnya Islam UMNO. Mereka selama ini menuduh kewujudan 'Islam' PAS dan 'Islam UMNO' cuba untuk mengatakan bahawa Islam UMNO sahajalah yang benar.

Hakikat ini memang pelik kerana lihat sahaja Rosmah Mansor dan Puteri UMNO dalam gambar diatas yang menghina Islam sehingga begitu sekali!

Belum lagi disiarkan gambar-gambar lain pimpinan UMNO dengan arak dan penglibatan tokoh UMNO dengan judi dan berpeleseran dengan GRO di kelab-kelab malam.

Amat pelik apabila maksiat 'dapat dikesan' di Kelantan dan kerajaan negeri terus dilabel sebagai penggalak maksiat. Maka sekiranya logik tersebut diambil kira untuk membahas tindakan UMNO, maka kita boleh mengatakan yang berikut:

1. Islam UMNO membenarkan menjudi (pemberian lesen judi di Genting);

2. Islam UMNO membenarkan arak (pembukaan kilang Guinness oleh Tun Razak);

3. Islam UMNO membenci Syari'ah (bantahan hudud, penggunaan undang-undang sivil dan skop mahkamah Syari'ah yang hina);

4. Islam UMNO membenarkan membuka aurat (Kak Ros dan Puteri UMNO);

Dan lain-lain lagi contoh yang berpandukan bukti dan logik pelik ustaz yang pelik.

Fahaman Islam UMNO yang senget ini lebih merbahaya dan mengancam daripada ancaman lain. termasuk ancaman 'pluralisme Islam' yang kononnya wujud dan disebut semula oleh al-fadhil Najib Razak yang sangat dalam pengetahuannya dalam ilmu Islam.

Hairan mengapa didalam ratusan atau ribuan ulama' dan pemikir Islam yang mengelilingi PM tersebut TIDAK ADA SEORANG PUN yang berani mengeluarkan nasihat terhadap masalah aurat yang tidak dipandang langsung oleh Rosmah? bukankah jihad yang paling afdal ialah 'Kalimatu Haqqin 'inda Sultan Ja'ir?'

Apakah Menteri Agama Khir begitu lantang dalam membicarakan Islam namun kelu dan gugup apabila mahu menasihati pimpinan sendiri? dimana Ulama Muda UMNO? adakah Ulama UMNO telah kenyang setelah diberi jawatan berhabuan tinggi? apakah ini 'Islam UMNO'?

Masih lagi tiada teguran terhadap fenomena penghinaan Al-Qur'an seperti yang ditunjukkan dalam gambar diatas, dan jika inilah yang dikatakan Islam oleh UMNO maka saya katakan kepada anda - Katakan TIDAK kepada UMNO!

Perutusan Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim Sempena Maulidur Rasul

“Sungguh telah datang kepadamu seorang Rasul dari kaummu sendiri, berat terasa olehnya penderitaanmu” (Surah at Taubah, ayat 128)

Bila menjelang sahaja 12 Rabiul Awal, maka kita umat Islam pasti terkenangkan Baginda Muhammad al Amin S.A.W kerana pada tarikh tersebut junjungan mulia dilahirkan. Sungguhpun begitu, mengingati Rasulullah SAW pastinya tidak sekadar khusus pada 12 Rabiul Awal semata-mata. Junjungan kita yang menyampaikan pesan wahyu itu haruslah dingati setiap waktu. Adalah dianjurkan kepada kita agar sentiasa berselawat keatas Baginda S.A.W sesuai dengan ayat 56 Surah al Ahzaab,

“Sesungguhnya Allah dan malaikatNya berselawat kepada Nabi, wahai orang-orang yang beriman berselawatlah kamu kepada nya serta ucapkanlah salam sejahtera dengan penghormatan yang sepenuhnya.”

Mengenangi Sayyidina Muhammad S.A.W dan perjuangan Baginda itu moga menambah rasa kecintaan yang mendalam serta dirahmati pula dengan suri teladan buat menjadi pedoman. Justeru membaca sirah Nabi S.A.W sentiasa menenangkan saya manakala terus ditohmah rekayasa musuh. Kerana itu saya mengambil kesempatan merenung serta meneliti kesabaran Junjungan Besar berhadapan dengan dugaan. Kita pastinya tahu akan peristiwa Al-Ifk, kisah fitnah yang dilemparkan kepada Sayyidatina Aishah. Kesabaran Junjungan dan Sayyidatina Aishah berhadapan tohmahan besar itu memperkukuh iltizam saya dan sekeluarga untuk tidak lekang mengharap belas ihsan serta pertolongan Allah S.W.T.

Ternyata sudah lama keluarga saya berdepan dengan dugaan ini, namun apalah dibandingkan dengan ujian yang dikenakan ke atas para Anbiya dan mereka yang dekat dengan Allah S.W.T. Namun InshaAllah, diiringi doa saudara semua serta pertolongan Yang Maha Penyayang, fitnah ini akan lenyap jua. Marilah kita sama-sama mengambil iktibar dari pesan al Quran ini:

“Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang suka terhebah tuduhan-tuduhan yang buruk dalam kalangan orang-orang yang beriman, mereka akan beroleh azab seksa yang tidak terperi sakitnya di dunia dan akhirat, dan (ingatlah) Allah mengetahui(segala perkara) sedang kamu tidak mengetahui (yang demikian)” ~ Surah An Nur ayat 19
