Week 2 only the top 16 members of week 1 will be able to participate, week 3 the top 8 members of week 2 and in week 4 the top 4 members of week 3. The winner of round 4 will be crowned king or queen of Pxleyes!
The final rounds winner will be awarded with bluetooth headphones!
You can choose between these (available in white or black) or these.

Week 2, 3 and 4 will be posted on Thursdays but will be opened for entries on Sundays after the previous round is closed, when the next participants are known. If you participate, be aware you might have to re-enter next rounds too!

Rounds 2, 3 and 4 will have 2 reserve players each. These will be the 2 runners up of the previous round, in the list with names who are allowed to enter their names will be followed by "(reserve 1 or 2)".
Reserves are allowed to enter their entry whenever they want BUT be aware:
if all qualified members for that round enter: ALL the entries by the reserves will by removed when the contest goes into voting. If one or two qualified members fail to enter one or two reserves are allowed to stay in the contest when the contest turns into voting.
Those removed entries will be allowed in the Mixed Media (or other fitting) contests later on.

The theme for this contest is: Shrunk animals
We have had contests where we had to make a person smaller. Now, let's make an animal smaller. Who wouldn't want to have a pocket-sized giraffe or a cat-sized elephant? It would make it so much easier to keep them at home as pet! Put something normal size in the picture too so there is comparison. the more believable the better.

New photoshop contest: air and space models

We recently had a contest using a photo of a ground vehicle model. In many cases the light source itself does not have to appear in the image.

The term light painting also encompasses images lit from outside the frame with hand-held light sources. The first known photographer to use this technique was Man Ray in his series "Space Writing" created in 1935. Photographer, Ellen Carey, discovered Man Ray's signature signed by penlight nearly 74 years after the pictures had been taken. For this theme, give us some dazzling works of art, created with light!

Those removed entries will be allowed in the Anything goes (or other fitting) contests later on.

The theme for this contest is: best stock
It's time to take some stock photos for others to use in their art work. It's not as easy as you might think to take a good stock photo. There is a reason why some pictures get picked over and over again to be used in art work.
Remember to take in to account the light, the background, the focus and subject for your photo. You should also vote for pictures you would really want to use in your artwork.
As a reward the first place winner of this contest will be featured as the next week photo to use in the photoshop contest. Have fun and good luck!

New photography contest: orton technique

The original technique invented by Michael Orton was to overlay two or more images of an identical scene with very different exposures on slide film. One image is sharply focused and the others are very out of focus.

Here you find 4 photos, your job in this contest is to make a photo entry like this.

You'll need to post 4 photos in the SBS in this order: 1. Original photo 2. Lightened to produce "overexposed" image 3. Overexposed image blurred out of focus. 4. The final result of how your image looks after you put them together in Photoshop (or similar program) and blended both images together. Of course your final result also needs to be put up as a entry.

The use of Photoshop (or similar program) to create step 2 and 3 is allowed as well, this means you can use a single photo for this. Have fun!

New 3D contest: reflective sphere

Create a scene where the main object is a chrome (or other reflective surface) sphere. A SBS is optional, but all sources must be mentioned to prove the authenticity of your work. If no external source is used an SBS is still required.
