Try and create a scene that looks like it's from an old b-rated horror movie. You can use a scene from an actual movie or you can come up with something on your own.

New photography contest: brand names 2

This contest is about photographing brand names and logos. The brand name or logo has to be your focal point of the entry, the product itself shouldn't be recognizable or at least as unrecognizable as possible.

This means shooting an Ipod's logo is perfectly OK but do not show us the (partly) Ipod itself as primary object in your shot; or the McDonald's logo on a burger wrapper is OK but we do not want to see the burger itself. Neon lights and street advertising are offtheme. Brand names and logo's is what we are looking for!

Take a picture showing your interpretation of this quote. The main object in the photo must be people.
Good luck!

Late winter before the flowers started to bloom made it a true challenge. With spring here I thought that it would be interesting to see how much purple in nature we could find. No man made subjects. So get your camera out and take the most creative self portrait you can think of. And because we all want to see recent shots and not old ones, there is a little twist this time! You have to include either the PXL logo or just the letters "PXL" in your photo. How you do this, is up to you. You can draw it on your body, hold a sign in your hand, have it tattood on your arm, have it somewhere written in the background, it doesn't matter how big or prominent it is, as long as it is there! Have fun and good luck!

New photography contest: song lyrics 2

We all have a song that speaks to us; that perks us up when we're down or consoles us when we're sad. Maybe we just like rocking out to it or getting jiggy in the club. In any event, take your favorite song and illustrate it through photography.

Any song is acceptable, but try to keep it somewhat mainstream ("Random Indy Band X" may not be recognizable to everyone and, therefore, decrease the impact your photo has on the viewer). Finally, be sure to include the song name, artist's name, and lyrics in the description (you only need the stanza/line that you are depicting in the photograph). Best of luck!
