We're moving!....Fresh start!

Heyy!

I hadn't even realized I have been a blogger since 2009, Sept 2009 to be exact. It has been a really really joyful experience to get to know everyone on blogger. However, it is time for us to move on. I have been in the process of transitioning to something new these last few months. By moving we can broaden the look of the site as well as bring in new viewers. Don't get me wrong, Blogger has been awesome these last few years. It's just for the audience I am looking to reach, it no longer serves a purpose for me. When I started blogging I didn't care really about content or who read my blog. It was just for fun in the beginning. Then it transitioned into, "oooo I can make money" from this. I had no real true vision at all, and when I did I had no internet to post anything.

Then there was the fact that I have no niche, I have been all over the place trying to figure out where I fit in. After years of figuring it out, I eventually gave up and just started posting whatever I felt like. There is nothing wrong with this concept if it's just for fun and not monetary gain. But when you take the time and effort to edit, take photos, post photos and edit them, it shouldn't be free of cost. I will admit that once I began to see what it was I can do as a blogger, and get paid for it I knew that I had to begin to take it more seriously. It's not always about money, it is about helping people. Buttttt money is important in any industry we decide to do.

I just wanted fresh start with a new found niche. To be able to bring some amazing content from a fresh new site, that I am hosting and that I own. Me!!!! Better pictures, better graphics, better posts, all of the above!!

More consistency is the numero uno!!

I am so very excited for what is to come and I can not wait for you all to see the new designs and logo for pynkstarr.com . It's going to be fabulous!!

There is no date yet for the rebranding of the site but it will be soon. Once graduation is over I will be able to focus 100% of my time on this site.

Recap: Hit the Floor Season 3, Ep 4 "Good D" Spoilers

In this week's episode, there was some of everything!! Sex, Love, Trust, and Truth!

Since Ahsha has decided to stay, she has decided to move in with German finally! Poor German looks like hell too, smh! His guilt weighing in on him badly this episode. Not only that but he knows that Derrick wants Ahsha back in his arms soon. If I were a killer and thought my girl may leave me for another man, I'd be sleep deprived too!

Sloan and Pete have hired a bodyguard instead of going to the police in regards to the kidnapping and threats. The bodyguard even teaches her how to use the gun she purchased without Pete knowing about it.

Kyle has sex with her producer, who I know still loves her. And Raquel is dating everyone, trying her best to live her life to the fullest without putting strain on her heart. Ummmm, am I the only one wondering where her son is? hmmm!! Anyhow Drew and Lucas hook back up in a big way. But Drew is still hung up on Zero, esp after Zero says I love you awwww! Drew is like who needs love, I need attention in public doe! Zero was like or nah!

Last week we saw Jelena\Terrence make a deal with Zero to fire Derrick after they buy the team. Well Zero wants his boo Drew back so he tells him everything about the deal, and of course Drew tells Lionel. Lionel makes sure to that Jelena pays for it too. She gives Ahsha more reigns over the Devil girls in this week's dance, she also gives her a huge budget for props, and lastly she wants her to go to Las Vegas to spruce up the team's image. Jelena hates this! LOL

Jelena is able to figure out that Zero snitched on their deal so she and Terrence go to Pete for help with buying the team. Pete tells Sloane, who dislikes Jelena doesn't approve of this decision. Sloane agrees to meet with Terrence alone, but still tells Pete no. Pete goes against her wishes and agrees to help them buy the team. Meanwhile, their bodyguard gets a threatening note regarding his daughter and quits. He tells Sloane to go to the police.

Back in Vegas Ahsha relalizes there is still some spark between her and Derrick. They have sex, no surprise there. But she feels guilty! Her plans are to tell German everything after the game.

While Pete, Terrence, and Jelena are on their way to the meeting about buying the team, they realize that Lionel beat them to the punch. Lionel tells Derrick about their plans, that Pete never knew about, and they are able to convince the league to postpone the buy for a later date. Derrick is super pissed at Terrence! Jelena is so mad that she cancels all of Ahsha's plans for the big game night dance routine. Oh well!

While on his way to the game German crashes his car :O

Who didn't see this happening though.

The big game happens!

So does the big first dance, which was great even without all the sparkle....ha! to you Jelena.

Lucas explains to Zero how needy Drew really was, not knowing that he and Drew were hooking up. Zero feels bad and tells Drew what Lucas told him. Then while everyone is doing their interviews, Zero kisses Lucas in front of everyone!!!! Finally!!!!!!

Sloane comes to the game to tell Pete that she is going into the witness protection program and how she would have told him first had he not ignored her calls because of his secret meeting with Jelena/Terrence. HEHEHE!

Ahaha finds out about German, and thinks he somehow found out that she had sex with Derrick. But instead he confesses to killing Olivia. :OOOOO

Well in next week's episode it looks like Ahsha is in shock. Sloane and Pete are on thin ice. And Zero has to do damage control after being public with his relationship with Drew!!

This episode gets an AAA++++ IT was soon good. Can't wait till next week.

Recap: Hit the Floor Season 3, Ep 3 "Fake Out" Spoiler

This week in episode 3 we saw Sloane trapped in some room, after last week's kidnapping she is still there. The guy who kidnapped her tells her he works for Oscar (but for some reason I don't believe him) and that she has to write a suicide note or else he'll kill Ahsha.

Jelena and Terrence are throwing an engagement party to celebrate their new lives together with the Devils family. Zero found out last week that they wanted to buy the Devils, which is a perfect opportunity for him to make a proposition in regards to Derrick. Since Zero doesn't have to worry about Terrence being the star player anymore, and because he thought Derrick was leaving the team this left him as the star!! But Derrick is back and that puts damper in his plans, so threatens to tell people about the team buy if they don't fire Derrick when they by the team. Of course they say no way!...at first.

Oscar gets two visitors this week Lionel, who tells him she plans to have him removed completely from the team. Then days later his son Drew, who he still refuses to accept is an openly gay man. Neither will be back to see him I'm sure. Poor Oscar *insert evil laugh here*

Meanwhile, Raquel and Kyle go to the cardiologist to see what is wrong and they get some bad news. Raquel's heart is enlarged and she can no longer be a Devil girl. Kyle tries to cheer her up with food, but instead Raquel remains feeling sorry for herself.

In order to keep Derrick on the team, Lionel has to bring Ahsha back. Ahsha requests to also choreograph and her wish is granted. Lionel makes sure to tell her that it was all Derrick's idea and that she should thank him. Ahsha tells German they are staying and that he can have his job back, which he is unhappy about esp when she tells him it was Derrick's idea. She better watch German's crazy ass! Smh!

At the engagement party there is a huge dance number with the Devil girls. Kyle invites the movie director so she can meet him, turns out she used to date him. Ha! Raquel no longer wants to feel sorry for herself, puts on a freakum dress, and joins the party. Ahsha thanks Derrick for what he did and how she is okay with them being friends again. Derrick was like "ummmm nah, I dont want to be your friend", he wants to get back in there. The look on her face was definitely a look of curiosity and not fear. Derrick later spots German and tells him he'll continue to fight for her.

Zero and Drew hooks up in the coat closet, awww! but poor Drew thought they'd actually be open together. Oh well. I think that Drew needs him a good man who isn't ashamed of him and is at least openly gay. Meanwhile Jelena and Terrence take his offer toget rid of Derrick once they buy the Devils after finding out that letting people know now could ruin their chances. Poor Derrick is about to get blind sided!

Overall, this episode is what I call a fluffer! It keeps you hanging on with out any really huge cliff hangers. Either way I can't wait until the next episode!

Recap: Hit the Floor, Season 3 episode 2; "Blocked" Spoiler

Hello

Wow!!! The cliffhanger in this episode has me reeled in right away in this new season!

First scene we see German and Ahsha where we left off last episode. He is having guilty dreams about murdering Olivia and Ahsha heard him call out Olivia's name. Of course he lies about the real reason, wellll he said he was protecting her from Olivia....so technically it wasn't all a lie. In this episode, German even visits Olivia's grave..yikes!

Jelena and Terrence spent the entire episode worrying about how they were going to buy the Devils. Jelena asked her mom for money, in which she finds out about her engagement to Terrence. Somehow convinces Jelena to go wedding dress shopping, which she hates. In the end Jelena and her mom finally have a breakthrough in there relationship and her mom signs on to partner in the investment to buy the devils. On the other hand Terrence's loss of a huge endorsement almost cost them everything. After a long hard days work they now have two major backers. Happy and bliss for now for these two...but I'll get to that in a moment.

As Ahsha has begun to transition her life without the Devil girls, she receives a huge offer to go to Boston. I think this idea sucks....but okay. She tells her mom, of course she is happy. She tells German who decides to leave with her to Boston. Ekkk! All while Derrick will not let his feelings for Ahsha go!

Drew and Lionel are still trying to get Derrick to sign a new contract, but he will not budge. His agent is nogitating and flirting with Drew all at the same time. Hehehe! Drew takes him out on a date, Zero shows up because Lucas is also his agent. Annnndd he is probably jealous of him smh! Derrick has until midnight to sign the contract, which he doesn't sigh. Lionel goes to his house to give him a piece of her mind and tells him that Ahsha is leaving. He later shows up to Lionel's office to sign the contract under one condition, Ahsha has to be brought back on to the Devil girls. hmmmmm this is gonna get interesting.

We don't see much a Kyle and Raquel in this episode but we do see Kyle talking about her movie. And in the end of the episode Raquel may have something wrong with her heart. :(

Sloane and Pete are still working out the whole situation with the Kincade family and Oscar being in jail. Sloane thinks that the guy following her is a body guard hired by Pete. In the end we find out that the man works for Oscar and kidnaps Sloane :O!!!

Then in the last scene as Zero is going to brag about the fact that he is the new team captain, he finds Jelena and Terrence talking to a board member. Which I know is going to cause trouble in the following episode.

I am glad that the creators keep us guessing. The writing since that first episode has changed significantly!!

Recap: Hit the Floor Season 3, Ep 1 "Power Play" Spoiler

Hello,

I must admit that I really love enjoyed reviewing Hit the Floor a few years ago. Buttt since it's been so long I sort of forgot some of the storylines from some of my fave characters.

Lets start from the beginning.

The episode picked up where it left off with Terrence recovering from his injury, Ahsha no longer being a devils girl :(. I honestly thought she'd somehow after these last few months maybe somehow be brought back on the team. But oh well!

As we saw last season German and Ahsha were back together, and yep they are still together even though he is a murderer. Yep, spoiler German killed Olivia because he found the letter she wrote Ahsha. In the letter it mentioned how she rigged the all star games back in season 1 I think. This info could get Ahsha thrown out of the dance league. Of course German couldn't have that happen so he pushed Olivia over the staircase.

Something else I forgot was that Kyle and Raquel got married in the last season in order for Raquel to stay in the US. They are actually arguing like a married couple in this episode. Not only do they live together but they have to work together.

Jelena was up to her old schemes and tricks with her boo Terrence. Since his injury the new owner of the team Lionel hasn't been treating like the captain of the team. Seems like Jelena forgot to add this to her deal with Lionel from last season. But she definitely remembered to get Ahsha fired. Now they are searching for a replacement and Jelena offers Raquel the position, perhaps out of guilt for getting her fired years ago. Turns out Raquel made the Devil girls for the second time. YAY! Although I feel as though it may not last long.

While Terrence should have been worried about Derrick taking his main position as the star on the team, he proposed to Jelena. :/ I am happy for them though.

Derrick on the other hand is trying to get back with Ahsha. LOL. It may be a lost cause because as we can see, German has no problems pushing folks down steps.

The whole Zero, Jude, and Lionel story is always sort of draggy for me. But Lionel is the new owner and making it hard for Sloane, Pete, Jelena, hell the whole dang team except for Derrick. Zero and Jude still have some weird chemistry going on. I am like either have sex or keep it moving gosh! Anyhoo, Lionel made Jude EVP of the team. All while Sloane and Dean are trying to get rid of the whole Kincade family all together.

That sums up the first episode of this season. It was really good for it to be the first episode coming back after a year. They even had really high viewer ship thanks to the great acting and writers.

Next episode we will see German having nightmares about being a murderer. Which I am like too little too late. Derrick is trying so hard to get Ahsha back smh. Zero isn't okay with public affection with Jude, but he wants to make commands about who he can talk to. And Kyle's life will be made into a movie. Yay! I loveeee Kyle because she is so openminded and funny.

I am back!!! Happy 2016!

How awesome is it to be back blogging! I mean I have missed you all so much but between life and school, I haven't had time for anything.

I let other parts of my life take precedence over what actually matters to me, which is blogging.

Getting back to the groove of blogging on a more regular basis has been difficult because at times I felt like I didn't know what I wanted to do. Nor did I understand what kind of blogger I wanted to be. Not that that is important, but it helps to know where you fit.

When I really think about it though, I never really fit in anywhere growing up. And I damn sure don't fit in to many places as an adult. Mainly because, again I had to figure out who I wanted to be. Taking a look back on some of my old posts, I wonder if I had really seen myself as an actual blogger, or was I doing it to be apart of this world I used to think was cool. Keyword on used to! I am a blogger and I enjoy it. But I don't want to be put in the category of anyone else, I'd rather make my own lane then to be trailing behind someone else.

Why put myself in a box to appease another person just because it made me comfortable knowing that they were comfortable....if that makes sense. Basically, I am a people pleaser! There is anything wrong with being a people pleaser if you know why you want to please people. Butttt I really just began blogging because it seemed fun and I wanted to be 'known' in the industry. It's like I had a hidden agenda in a way. I knew deep down that I wasn't being my true true self out of fear. Fear of not being liked, not fitting in with other bloggers, losing views blah blah blah.... I mean who really gives a darn now. But then, at 21 years old, I was okay with the fact that I wasn't being myself. And that is really sad. That meant that I had no self-worth nor did I understand how F'in cool I really was. But I am! I am super dope. And so now that my main reasons for blogging have changed I feel the need to be more consistent.

This isn't about the readers per se, although I love yaul so much, but it's more about me. And living my life the way that I want to and then allowing that to show through my blogging.

I say all that to say thank you!

I have so many awesome posts planned for this year!!! :D

I just know my blog will begin to grow into the part of my life I knew it could always be. First order of business is to make a schedule so it can be easier for you all to find certain posts I make and keep those consistent. Once I find that out I will inform you all in a blog post.

One great tip to finding balance as a college student

This is my last post for the college student series :(. I really enjoyed writing this series because it is who I am! It's what I identify as at the moment because I have been a college student for many years now. And I have learned a few things along the way!!

I can't wait to get started on my next series!

So my final tip is how to balance life AND being a college student? Well, something I have learned over the years is to take a moment for myself, like do something you love. Some people like to read, others go shopping, I like to write and meditate. I just, at times, need some space from being a student. Although I am grateful for the opportunities that come along with getting my degree, I also know what it is like to have mental breakdown.

So many times you can feel so over worked and exhausted that your body just shuts down. This has happened to me, and believe me it's not pretty at all. Even if it's for 5 mins, take a break from doing HW and go an do something fun.

You will see when you come back to work, everything seems to flow better. Your mind has released it's stress and now you can actually get some work done.

3 Tips for Being a Fashionable College Student on a Budget!

Happy Friday!!

Today I would like to share some tips on how I stay fashionable on a budget, especially when it comes to the new term!

There is nothing like having fresh gear for the first day of school, I can't describe this feeling but it is super awesome to have a new look. It's almost like we are reinventing ourselves or something, which is some times the case for freshmen students. You are no longer in high school, you're practically on your own with no one telling you something is too tight, or too loose.

We all love a new look. The issue is who can afford a new look plus books plus housing plus, plus, plus? Not many of us can! So for those of us who can't, I will share a few tips on how I have managed to save money and still look fashionable.

1. Create a budget- I understand it's hard to do if you have no job but for every time you go to purchase a latte from Starbucks, put that in a bank. For a whole month of not eating out or buying a latte, you can have enough to budget for the next month. Once I realized how much money I could save buy cooking my own lunch or making my own coffee, I just continued to live this way even after I graduated the first time.

2. Recycle and repurpose outfits- For many of us, we have so many options already in our closet, the issue is looking at what we already have. I always purchase tops more than bottoms because it is easier to wear different tops with the same jeans every week. I always repurpose my tops by just changing a few things. For example, you can wear the same top 3 times in a month by just adding a jacket one day, wearing a skirt the next, and wearing it with a belt the other day. Of course washing these tops in between is necessary, but you all catch the drift.

3. Thrift and consignment shopping!- *Que Macklemore* Although I didn't shop in thrift stores in the beginning of my college years, I learned real quick how much money I could save buy purchasing clothing that someone else doesn't love any more. Not only that but you can also make a quick buck buy selling your clothing to a consignment store then take that money to the Goodwill to buy some cute staple pieces.

Hiiii!!!

Being a college student can be exhausting at times and some times the only thing that can bring you joy is food!

There is nothing in the world better than being prepared with your snacks. I say this because once I sit down to study, I hate having to get up to get more snacks.

So what are my fave snacks? Well it really depends on the day and what I am doing. I like unhealthy as well as healthy options.

1. Haagen Dazs Dulce de leche is the way to go for now, until I completely transition to vegan!

2. Swedish Fish, to me are the best candy on the planet!

3. Skittles

4. Entenmann's Cinnamon Buns

5. TastyKake Krimpets

6. Herrs Hot Cheese Popcorn

This post has made me hungry.

But these are my go snacks all the time. I am currently in transition to getting rid of the GMO products in my life.

5 Awesome Study Tips I use to Get A's!!!

Hi lovely readers.

I often get asked about tips for studying and what I do to retain so much information for every course?

The only thing that helps retain information is to take notes. Yes it seems easier said than done because everyone can't take notes properly. Any one can write down information, but if you don't remember what you wrote down then it won't be helpful! So how can you take notes and retain the information you are reading. Or what ever lectures your professor is doing.

1. Pen and Paper

I know that seems like a no brainer, but I have classmates who don't have either. LOL! Like how do you come to class without a pen or paper. SMH! So make sure you are always prepared. College professors usually only say things once so the time you spend asking for paper, you have already missed some great notes.

I use binders with notebook paper only because I don't always take as much notes for some classes. And when I use notebooks I usually have so much paper left over, it becomes a wasted notebook. Or I write too many notes and I have to purchase more notebooks. I find using a 3-ring binder is the easiest for me to add paper and I can use the same binders for ever, just take out the old notes and buy new paper.

2. Bullet Points

Once you have your own method of taking notes whether you use a notebook or 3-ring binder you now have to come up with the way to take notes. I personally use the bullet point method. Which is basically writing down all the information that is needed on a test. I am an online student so I usually just write down what the professor highlighted. I also don't read the entire chapters because some of it is usually not useful information. Sometimes it's stories or something I won't need to remember.

When I am on campus in an actual class I write down what sounds important. Like I stated in a previous post I read the syllabus and look for upcoming work so I can skim through the chapters before going to class. I do this so when the teacher says some keywords, I'll know what pages they are on.

3. Cornell note taking method

I have only used this method once because it really requires that you read the entire chapter thoroughly. Since that is impossible for me to I ended up going back to my bullet point method. But I have heard that this works wonders for advanced note taking.

4. Definitions

Writing the definitions down is very important because most professors put these on tests

5. Anything in Bold!!

Everything is boldface font is usually where most professors go to pull information. This is the easiest tip to getting an A. Write down all the information in bold so that it's easier to spot when going back through your notes. Nothing worse than taking notes and not understanding what it is you wrote down.

OMG! Your 5 Go-To Natural Hair Styles when in College!

Hi my lovely readers!!

Omygosh day 3 of this awesome college girl series!!! Um, yes 3 in a row ya'll!

As a college student, I often have issues finding a hair style that will work for me. It can't only just work for my budget though, but also for my lazy days. You know what a lazy day is.... those days where you forgot to tie up your hair because you thought it'd be fine the next day. But it turned into a big bush! :(

Well I have a few solutions for those lazy days!

Mini Twists- You can just get up and go everyday, add a little bit of oil every few days and you are good.

Flat Twist UpDo- These are my go to types of styles when I know I am going to have a hard week in school. This style lasted me about 3 days. The remainder of the days I wore a twist out.

Hair Extensions, Senegalese Twists, Faux Locs, Wigs, Sew-ins. Any form adding hair is always an awesome option because you really can have lazy weeks. But you can't neglect your hair though, it WILL fall out if you don't take good care and keep it moisturized. Been there, done that!

Bantu knot- This style is something do more than twist outs because my hair comes out so full and voluminous.

Lastly,

Scarfs- These are the last option, but usually my first option when I am really being lazy. I can just throw on a scarf during any type of weather or season. It works all the time! No will care what's happening underneath this thing. You can get creative and wear them in different styles, colors, sizes, shapes. The choices are endless!

Well I love that I was able to share with you all the choices that I find works for me. Being a college student, you sometimes neglect certain things like your hair. Natural Hair can become dry and brittle real quick, and eventually break off. And that is a no-no!

4 Ways to be An Organized College Student!

Hi readers.

People always ask me how do I stay so organized as a college student?

The answer to that is always: I write down everything! Writing helps you retain any information you have in your head. Think about it, we have about 50,000 thoughts a day and yet we want to only remember 1. Unless you are a genius that is impossible to remember things to do, plus the random thoughts we have. So that's why I write down everything, plus I am more likely to remember something I wrote down then something I haven't.

The next question I get is where do I start? This is a very common question because not many people are actually taught organizational tips. Not only that, but college professors assume you know how to take notes and that you will remember simple things like assignments and homework for the week.

But don't fret, I am here to help you get organized and to make sure you never miss an important assignment again.

1. Always print your syllabus!

I used to not have a concern for these sheets of paper that were handed out in the beginning of the term. To me they were annoying and a waste of paper. But I quickly learned that if you actually read them, they have clues to assignments due in the up coming weeks.

Reading through the syllabus will save you from any surprises!

2. Use a planner!

I have been bragging about my planner for months now, but the truth is I began using a planner back in the 6th grade. The problem is I never really took planning out my homework assignments seriously until I got to high school.

When I professor gives you an assignment once, they usually never say it again. Although you printed out the syllabus, that doesn't mean anything if what the professor assigns to you isn't actually in the syllabus. By writing all of your assignments in some sort of planner, you will never miss an assignment again. It takes some getting used to at first, but once you start failing a course because you missed important assignments, you will get the hang of it.

Here is my planner from Plum Paper Planner that I currently use for writing assignments.

There are also free printable options online, just search keyword "free printable planner". I also found a few on Amazon that will work just as fine.

3. Have the right supplies.

Okay now that we have the planner, we need utensils to write with. I have way to many pens because I love them, but I suggest you find a great pen that actually writes. If you are on a budget the Dollar Tree is awesome but be prepared for the ink to run out faster than say a Pilot pen. This one is my favorite from Amazon.

Other supplies are pencils, paper, notebooks, 3 ring binders

Now I am not perfect and I do forgot some times, but that's once in a bluemoon. Plus, because I am organized I can go back in my notes or planner to find something.

4. Keep an organized area, think Feng Shui!

My work area is filled with positive quotes, candles, incense, stones and crystals. It is just over all a good space for me to actually get my work done. I think that it also helps to have everything in the right place, like pens and note pads. I only say this because I love to be able reach for a pen and paper without having to search for something.

I use drawer storage containers from the container store. But I found some cute ones from Amazon that look almost like mine. I love them so much because they are easy to clean and I can always switch them out and repurpose them.

What to Plan Now!! --- Planner decor for June & July 2015 + My fave sites to get FREE printable stickers!

Well I know it's way past Wednesday but here I am. I was scrolling through my blog when I realized I haven't posted anything on my planner in months!!

I am very simple when it comes to planning, usually I stick to my homework for the week with minor decor just to spice it up a little bit. I mean, what else can be more motivating than pretty stickers and wash tape!!!

Here are a few pics from June:

July wasn't as decorated because I have yet to go to my school to print out a few free stickers :(.

But I still love what I did. The gray parts of the planner is always hardest to decorate.

I also found time to decorate my tabs!!

This took me a while to cut and trim but I love the end results!!

Finally I want to share a few sites of places I go to find free printables!!!

1). Pinterest.com always has pins of great places to find free downloads.

2). Wenda of http://www.wendaful.com is a really great site!

3). I also subscribe to a few FB groups like WE love EC, Plumpaperplannercentral, and a few others that post downloads from the members who upload free printable.

Look I am all about free! So I never plan on buying anything to put in my planner that I can find for free online. And believe me there are a ton of things out here, you just have to do the research.

5 Surprising Little Ways to Use Apple Cider Vinegar

Hi readers,

Omygosh I have been meaning to post this blog months ago because I really love me some ACV. I mean I use it for everything now because it works for everything.

So a few years ago I was introduced to ACV by a few Youtubers who said this liquid was a good way to rinse your natural hair. This was like 6 years ago so I am not sure if rinsing you scalp is still a thing. But back then it was like everyone was doing it!

So I posted a blog back then about a haul from Vitacost.com in which I ordered some stuff for my hair. I went a little bit over board on buying all of those products that were supposed to magically help my natural hair growth journey.

I believe I used a ACV rinse one time because it just wasn't great for my hair. My hair felt stringy afterwards, but it did help with the scalp issues I had at the time. After that it just sat in my fridge for months until I saw some where that I could use it on my face. Yes, it works as a toner. I don't use it anymore but if you need a good toner, this helped my pores open up so much!! Then I would moisturize and splash cold water on my face to close them back up. Only thing is it made me tear up a little bit.

Another way I have used it is during my cooking, it helps for a quick marinade. I say quick because vinegar has acid and it'll cook your food in a weirdly scientific way I don't quite know how it works. But it has happened to me many of times---lol! I also have used it to boil meats, somehow it makes your food more flavorful.

Most recently my little baby had fleas :(!! Yes, by baby I mean my doggie, but she think she is a person and is quite offended when I call her a dog. LOL. I place a cap full of ACV in a water bottle with water and spritz her to see the fleas jumping all over the place. It may not kill them though but it definitely helps your doggie be more comfortable until you get them bathed. It makes a great flea repellent for the time being.

Lastly but most importantly for my female readers is ACV is great for those period days. Recently I had a trip to Florida which means beach clothes. Yes tampons can be worn with swim suits but I wanted to be period free for the time being. So I mixed water and ACV together and drank it twice a day. Ugh it was gross so I technically don't know it worked but it has helped a lot of people slow their period down a lot. The only tip is that you have to do it a week before your period in order for it to work. It's not a medical discovery so don't quote me on that. It's one of those things you try just because.

Mind you everything I have mentioned, although I have tried it may not work for you. These are just tips that have helped me in whatever I was looking for at the time.

My last tip is to do your own research with everything you see on any blog. I am no expert!! Not even close to it! So please do your research on everything. :)

Perfectly Pretty Mini Twists on Natural 4c Hair

First off, I am back! I know it doesn't seem like that long ago that I took my alleged break from blogging, but I am officially back. Yipppy!

A few weeks ago I shared how my hair was dry and how I needed something to keep it moisturized. My first thought was a protective style like faux locs or havana twists, but it's too hot for all that weave. So instead I opted for mini twists!! These twists lasted me for about 3 weeks only because my hair was no longer holding moisture, not to mention the product build up was unbearable.

After washing and moisturizing my hair, I had to make sure to prepare my hair for heat by using a few products that protect my strands from damage. See the shrinkage in the top photo

Almost done blow drying. I made sure to let my hair dry half way to cut back on the amount of heat to use.

All done.

Okay now I am just showing off!

One down, a million to go.

I wanted to try a style that gave the illusion that I shaved my sides but not really!

I loved my mini twists and yes, I will do them again as soon as I wash my hair!

I think that the key to having them in longer is to keep them as moisturized as possible and make sure the twists aren't loose. This way they won't come a loose so fast. You can redo them when they unravel, but who has time for that! It is the initial goal to make sure they don't come undone and there are a ton of videos available to show techniques to make sure this doesn't happen.

Wednesday I will be back for another post! Yes that is my schedule from now on. Sundays and Wednesdays seem to be a schedule to blog for some reason. Even if it's something small there will definitely be a post twice a week.

I need to be more consistent with my postings so by keeping a schedule I can actually do that!

Hi my lovelies,

I know it has been a while, but I am doing well. Just living life as stress free as possible and relaxing on a daily basis. Putting out content is pretty tough when you are a full time student.

Some things just have to get put on the back burner and my blogging is it. I have so many posts I have in my mind for a few future post and I can't wait to share them. It's just right now it's hard, you have to be self motivated to write a blog post. And once that goes that's it. That's why I try to post as many times as I can when I get those inspiring thoughts.

But right now I am just like, eh, blogging can wait. There are tons of bloggers in the universe so a few more weeks of not seeing me won't make a dent in the atmosphere or shall I say blogosphere!!!! :)

Crazy for jumpsuits this summer!!

This just in...JUMPSUITS are the new summer trend. Okay, so, not new per say, but definitely a reemerged trend from like 4 years ago Jumpsuits from 2011.

They can go from casual to dressy.

They come in shorts or in pants.

Everyone is wearing them!!

I personally love the idea of wearing a jumpsuit, however I am pretty petite. And wearing a garment that is going to swallow my entire body is not an option. But there are ways around this like having them altered or choosing the shorts or capri styles.

I'll go into more details for fabric choices and styling tips in the next post.

My umpteenth wash n go experience!

After watching so many videos this week, I kinda of wanted to try a wash n go style again :O!! I know??! Why would I do that again after trying it multiple times in the past and failing at it. But I come to realize it doesn't hurt to try again, plus if it comes out bad I could just wash it out.

I washed using my usual routine; Deep Condish, CoWash, Rinse!

Then used the same styling products I always use; Shea Moisture Curl and Style Milk, Olive Oil, water.

After rinsing and applying styling products I wanted to experiment with gels; Curls Goddess Curls v. EcoStyler Gel

First I tried Goddess curls, it didn't define my hair at all :/

Then I tried my Eco Styler gel, and I loveddddd it. It really defined my hair a lot more than the other gel did esp. after blow drying just a little bit!

This picture is after I used the blow dryer just a little bit, still damp.

This is two days later, completely dry. I hair doesn't feel crunchy and is very shiny, just not as glossy as I hoped for. Which isn't about what I did it's about what I probably didn't do, like use the right products. So I am going to look for a few other gel products that might work in defining my curls like Kinky Curly or Camille Rose.

My hair isn't dry but it definitely has shrinkage which is something I am going to work on for next time I do a Wash n Go style.

Overall I like the way it came out compared to my other attempts but I am not ready to show a tutorial yet because I want to master a routine first. I will wash my hair again in a few days and try my wash and go technique again or do mini twists. I will share that since now I have time to do it !!!

Final week of school!!! Living in the NOW!

Oh My Gosh!!

Too excited for being able to relax my brain just a bit for my break for school. I still have about 3-4 terms left before I graduate, which seems like a short amount of time but it'll go by so super fast.

I have been having an issue living in the NOW, meaning not focusing on yesterday or the future, which I do ALOT! But after doing some soul searching, finishing up my Residing in Abundance course, I have come to realize that NOW is what's happening. The past has happened so I can't change that. And the future hasn't happened yet so worrying about it constantly won't really fix it. Somethings are really out of my control and I need to understand that fully. Butttt I do know that now, or at least I am working on it. :) I have been writing and praying. I am now beginning to meditate daily as well, so hard for me to do but I am doing it. 5mins a day is what my life coach suggested and it's working.

Other than that I am still into planning!! I really love my Plum Paper Planner so much because I can see what I did, how I decorated weeks ago etc. I really enjoy doing it.

Here is my last week's rainbow theme! I have seen so many examples that inspired me to try it out and well here it is!!

This week's theme is inspired by MJ so I chose black and red!!

It looks orange but it really is red!

I just want to relax and take a break! But I will post a hair update this week when I get a chance.

Dry natural hair and what I am watching!

I honestly can not describe how dry my hair was the other day. I feel this is the driest I have ever felt my hair to be, esp after just 2 days AFTER washing it. I still can't understand why it felt the way it did.

This is what I did to my hair days prior, I deep conditioned using a DIY method for about an hr or two. Rinsed it as thoroughly as possible before cowashing. I rinsed that out as well as possible before styling my hair. I used the same products but this time I didn't bantu knot, I just twisted up my hair. Well my hair went dry, like so dry. The picture is only 2 days after washing my hair.

On Thursday I decided to try something different by purchasing a new product called Eden body Works All Natural Hair Masque. I went to get Shea Moisture deep conditioner but 12.00 was something I was looking forward to spending.

I posted a live video on my youtube channel, youtube.com/pynkstarr. Describing my hair and this product a little bit more.

Okay so I separated my hair into sections

And left on my hair for more than the 15 mins they suggested, more like an hr. I rinsed and this time I shampooed before I cowashed my hair. Once all was rinsed out I let my hair air dry for about half an hr. I started doing homework and sort of forgot about it. I then styled my hair using the LOC method and flat twisted it until the next day.

Later that day, I went out in the sun for a few hours and walked a lot. I was in a hot church and then endured more sun. But my hair wasn't dry at all, it felt fine.

Then the next day my hair felt so dry again. So I don't know what the heck is happening except that maybe I need do a protective style for a few weeks and see how that works out. I may do box braids or jumbo twists or even try faux locs again. Anything to avoid this dryness that is going on with my hair. The weather could be it or maybe the products I use are no longer working out for me. Either way I will figure it!

What am I watching?!

My TV situation has been crazy these last few weeks because school is literally over taking me. I just don't have the time to spare to watch reality TV or regular TV shows. The easiest way is sometimes I can watch things on Hulu, but I think I am going to cancel that for next month because it really isn't worth it. But I do watch a few different shows like Rupaul's Drag Race, Orange is the New Black, The Game, Braxtons Family Values, and Big Brother will be starting soon and yep I will be watching that too.

I think that there are sooooo many shows I can't even catch up on all of them. Just recently I found out that Sisterhood of Hip Hop was back on Oxygen so I am going to check that out. Orange is the new Black is back with Season 3 so yay! And lastly The haves and have nots will be back for another season this month. The other day I was able to catch up to the season finale and OMG! Veronica is crazy ya'll. So I know this season is going to be bomb!

Packing for a 5 day trip!!

Welll I am going away for a few days and I wanted to share some tips on how I pack *light*, cue Erykah Badu's Bag Lady. Anyhoo. I like to bring as many things with me as possible because I always feel as though I will forget something. The crazy thing is I just could've bought what ever I forgot because there were tons of stores around my hotel. I think I showed what luggage I have but just in case I haven't this is my luggage.

The top back is made by JanSport and is used for my snacks and electronics.

The bottom bag is my actual suitcase made by Jessica Simpson and it is where I store my clothing. Peep the picture below.

In my suitcase I store all of my shoes jewelry and makeup in the pouches inside the bag. On the other side I use the roll technique to store all of my pants, jeans, shorts, shirts, skirts, swim suits, and under garments; which I store in ziploc bags. I usually put all of my clothes in ziploc bags just to protect them. But our hotel was so clean and comfy I didn't see not one bug or ant.

Like I said before I packed sooooo much stuff because I don't like feeling that I am not secure especially being so far away from my comfort zone.

I planned on doing a lookbook while I was there of all of the outfits I wore, but in all honesty I just wanted to enjoy the moment. I didn't take many pictures but a few which are personal but I did get to go on the beach.

I really really enjoyed the beach so much. But I got burned so next time I am going to buy a better sun block!

Planner update!! Plum Paper Planner month of May 2015

Hey Ya'll

Planning can be so complex at times because a) I overthink too much about getting the perfect look and b) I really don't have time to decorate.

And this week was supposed to be my trip week so I definitely just didn't have time to do much. But I did get to the library to print some FREE printables. They have saved my life completely :)!! Because I can not go buying planner supplies all willy nilly like some people can. Nothing wrong with that, but I just can't afford to do that so these free printables are a great way to decorate while on a budget. I either create my own or I print some from Google!!

I love the way they came out on my school's printer versus mine. My printer is awesome too, but the color ink isn't the greatest for sticker printing, only general things.

I really love my PPP because it's not too bright for me. It's easy to carry around with me. And I take it everywhere with me because I always need to use it. Planning keeps me from losing my mind and forgetting things. It really is peaceful to decorate. And fun. You do not need a ton of money to decorate your planner and that is something I had to learn on my own. People feel as though they need to go crazy and buy everything in every color when that is not the case. Just do you when it comes to planning!

Please take my advice and have fun with your planner, what ever brand you have!! Decorate it, don't decorate whooo careess?! No one else matters but you :)

My desk Organization!! I love IKEA!!

Hi guys!! I am one of those people who appreciate organized chaos. I like my area, especially my crafting and planning, to be clean. This is a staged photo, lol. Because my desk isn't always this clean, my drawers are clean all the time because I always put my stuff away in an organized fashion. :) So I have said before that I purchased my desk because I needed an area to do my HW.

I had a previous desk but after water damage it's not the same, the feng shui was all off. I believe if you have a space you love, you will want to do the work. I enjoy writing at my desk, I eat at my desk, do my school work, my arts and crafts. You name it and my desk is involved. I need to be able to feel comfortable in what ever it is I am doing.

This post isn't about detailed specs of my desk but I really love that my desk is spacious. However, as long as I am going to continue to grow my scrapbook supplies, I will need more space. I have no space to really grow without stuffing things in my drawers, and I am not fan of that. Currently I have the Micke by IKEA but I plan to purchase a bigger desk from IKEA once I move into my new apartment. :D

Let's break down the desk though. On top is where I have my laptop, and either my planner if I am planning or my binder for school. I also have some stones and crystals for good energy and a candle. On the left in the pink basket I have my Target note pads, which I have to go get more because they just added some more :D. Farther left are my pens and makeup brushes. This will eventually change because this caddy is not too big for me, and I can't always get to my makeup brushes. Next to that is my white board, which is where I put my HW. And below that is my paper station, which I will plan on expanding soon. But these folders also come from Target's dollar spot. and I love them :D

Then we have my drawer systems that I purchased in the kitchen section of the Container's Store. Left drawer has all of my essentials, my washi tape, hole punch, some smaller note books, label maker, ribbons, and my doggie's nail clipper.

Right drawer I have a smaller version of the drawer separator where I store my sticky notes, my calculators, page flags, paper clips, binder clips, and index cards.

By being organized I feel as though I can get more work done because my mind doesn't see clutter. I can't really describe it but when I see organization it's not as hard to do my work. I will post more pictures and details soon.
