Planned Industrial Action at Major Australian International Airports

Customers departing from or arriving in Melbourne and Perth may be affected by planned industrial action by employees of Australia's Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) on Monday, 3 August 2015.

The industrial action may delay passengers processing through Customs on arrival and departure. Qatar Airways advises passengers departing Australia to arrive at least 3 hours before their scheduled flight to allow themselves sufficient time to complete Customs, Immigration and Quarantine formalities. Doha - Maputo flights

Due to operational reasons, Qatar Airways has cancelled its scheduled flights DOH-MPM-DOH, with effect from May 1 to August 19, 2015.

In view of this, the QR1359/QR1360 DOH-JNB-MPM-JNB-DOH will now operate as DOH-JNB-DOH from May 1 to August 19, 2015.

Passengers booked on the affected flights are advised to contact their travel agent or Qatar Airways 24-hour Call Centre on +974 4023 0000 for rebooking options, and visit the website for further updates.

Flights to Kathmandu

Passengers holding a confirmed reservation and a confirmed QR (157) ticket who purchased their ticket prior to May 25^th 2015 and who are booked to travel with Qatar Airways between April 25 and July 31 2015, have the option to amend their travel plan and may rebook on an alternate Qatar Airways’ flight to or from Kathmandu within the same cabin, free of charge, provided the new travel date is within 90 days of the original travel date or claim a refund if they choose not to travel. (All penalties and date change fee will be waived.) They may also rebook to alternate QR destination closest to Kathmandu – Delhi or Kolkata without any additional amount – (subject to documentation checks) or choose to travel to any alternate destination on the QR network (any additional amount in fare may be collected or if lower refunded by QR).

نود أن نعلم المسافرين الذين لديهم حجز مؤكد وتذكرة مؤكدة الحجز على الرحلة QR (157) والذين اشتروا تذكرتهم قبل تاريخ 25 مايو 2015 للسفر مع الخطوط الجوية القطرية في الفترة ما بين 25 إبريل و31 يوليو، أن بإمكانهم تغير مواعيد سفرهم وإعادة الحجز على رحلة بديلة على متن الخطوط الجوية القطرية إلى أو من كاتمندو في نفس الدرجة، مجاناً، بشرط أن يكون موعد الرحلة الجديد خلال 90 يوماً من موعد الرحلة الأصلي. أو بإمكانهم استعادة مبلغ التذكرة في حال قرروا إلغاء سفرهم. (سيتم إعفائهم من جميع الغرامات والرسوم المترتبة على تغيير الرحلة). وبإمكان المسافرين كذلك إعادة الحجز إلى وجهة بديلة من وجهات الخطوط الجوية القطرية على أن تكون قريبة من كاتمندو – نيودلهي أو كالكوتا دون دفع إي مبلغ إضافي (خاضع للتدقيق في الوثائق الشخصية)، أو اختيار السفر إلى أية وجهة بديلة على شبكة الخطوط الجوية القطرية (يمكن دفع أي فرق في السعر إذا كان أعلى، ويمكن الحصول من الخطوط الجوية القطرية على فرق السعر في حال كان أقل من السعر المدفوع أصلاً).

As a result of the security situation in Yemen, Qatar Airways has decided to temporarily suspend its services between Doha and Sanaa with immediate effect until further notice.

The suspension of these flights will be reviewed closely before recommencing any services. The safety and security of our passengers and crew remains Qatar Airways’ highest priority.

Flights to Iraq

As a result of the security situation in Iraq, Qatar Airways has decided to temporarily suspend its services between Doha and Baghdad, Erbil and Sulaymaniyah with effect from 10 March 2015 until further notice.

The Doha – Basra flight operation remains unaffected. The Doha – Najaf flight resumes scheduled service from Wednesday, April 15 2015.

The suspension of these flights will be reviewed daily before recommencing any services.

The safety and security of our passengers and crew remains Qatar Airways’ highest priority.

نتيجة للوضع الأمني في العراق، قررت الخطوط الجوية القطرية بتعليق خدماتها مؤقتا بين الدوحة وبغداد وأربيل والسليمانية اعتبارا من 10 مارس 2015 حتى إشعار آخر.

تبقى رحلة البصرة – الدوحة غير متضررة. تستأنف رحلة الدوحة - النجف خدماتها المجدولة من الأربعاء 15 أبريل، 2015.

سيتم مراجعة توقف هذه الرحلات الجوية يوميا قبل اعادة إطلاق أي خدمة.

Hamad International Airport – Enhanced Security Procedures

Enhancements to airport security procedures will take place at Hamad International Airport from December 21, 2014.

At the airport security check, your hand-baggage will be screened and you will also be required to walk through a metal detector. From December 21, 2014, you will also be required to remove all large electronic items (e.g. tablets, laptops etc.) from your carry-on baggage and place them in the tray at the security screening.

You may be asked to turn on any electrical or battery powered devices in front of security teams and/or demonstrate the item's functionality, so it is advised that you bring your charging cables with you.

In addition to the above, we request that passengers continue to adhere to the following rules:

Ensure that you are not carrying any prohibited items. These include sharp items, firearms, weapons, explosives (e.g. fireworks) and liquids over 100ml in volume. Pack any liquid containers of 100ml or less in a clear, re-sealable plastic bag and place them in the tray at the security screening. Complimentary re-sealable plastic bags are available at the airport prior to immigration.
Before walking through the metal detector, remove from your person all items with metallic parts (e.g. phones, wallets, watches, keys, belts, shoes, etc.). Place these items into your baggage or in the tray at the security screening.

مطار حمد الدولي – إجراءات أمنية جديدة

سوف تطبق في مطار حمد الدولي إجراءات أمنية جديدة اعتباراً من تاريخ 21 ديسمبر 2014

عند نقطة التفتيش الأمني في المطار، ستمر حقيبتك اليدوية عبر جهاز الفحص بالأشعة, كما سيطلب منك أن تمر عبر جهاز كاشف للمعادن. اعتباراً من 21 ديسمبر 2014، سيطلب منك كذلك إخراج كافة الأجهزة الإلكترونية الكبيرة الحجم (مثلالكمبيوتر المحمول وغيره) من حقيبة أمتعتك وسيطلب منك وضعها في صينية خاصة لتقوم بالمرور عبر الماسح الضوئي.

من المحتمل أن يطلب منك تشغيل أي جهاز الكتروني أو أي جهاز يعمل بالبطارية أمام موظفي الأمن أو إظهار وظائفه، لذا يفضل إحظار كابلات الشحن معك.

بالإضافة الى ما سبق، نرجو من المسافرين العمل على الالتزام بالقوانين التالية:

التأكد من عدم حمل أية مواد محظورة. هذه المواد تشمل الأدوات الحادة، الأسلحة النارية، الأسلحة والمتفجرات (مثل الألعاب النارية) والسوائل أكثر من 100 ملم. ضع أي عبوة سائلة بحجم 100 ملم أو أقل داخل كيس بلاستيكي يسهل إعادة إغلاقه وضعها في صينية خاصة لتقوم بالمرور عبر الماسح الضوئي. تتوفر أكياس بلاستيكية يسهل إعادة إغلاقها لدى أقرب مكتب استعلامات مجاناً.
قبل السير عبر جهاز الكشف عن المعادن، ضع الأشياء ذات الأجزاء المعدنية (الأحزمة والأحذية، ...إلخ) في حقيبة أمتعتك أو في صينية الأمن.

The World Health Organisation is closely monitoring the Ebola situation and has sent teams of experts to all affected countries to assess the situation and assist in containing the problem.
