Instead of letting 18-year-old senior Constance McMillen wear a tux and bring a female date to the prom, Itawamba Agricultural High School canceled prom for everyone. Because of all the negative attention! And in a statement to parents and students, administrators encouraged other folks to come up with their own (private) prom, of which they could easily exclude the fags. And as we expected, instead of fostering a welcoming environment for queer students, Itawamba's administrators are helping bring the wrath of the student body against McMillen.

While Argentina's gay marriage laws are attacked in the judicial system, Mexico City's homos took full advantage of the capital city's marriage law taking effect. Five couples, all LGBT activists, wed on Thursday, and of course they were running on GST: Gay Standard Time. "The head of Mexico City's civil registry married four couples in a simple ceremony on the patio of a colonial city hall to cheers and applause from family, friends and local politicians. A fifth couple arrived late for the event — but were quickly married afterward."

And so much for that: "A federal judge in Buenos Aires has nullified the “marriage” of two gay men that took place last week in the Argentinian capital, saying “no elements existed” for the union to constitute a marriage. On Monday, Judge Felix Gustavo de Igarzabal of Buenos Aires reversed a decision which allowed two gay men to marry at the city's civil registry office on March 3. In his ruling the judge said no marriage took place “because of the absence of the institution’s structural elements,” in this case a man and a woman, and thus declared the act to be invalid. He also said any 'legal effects derived from the act shall be suspended.' The judge ordered the two men to turn in any marriage licenses or documentation received from the civil registry office within 72 hours or face monetary penalties." Now Does this count as an annulment or a divorce?

But Cynthia Nixon, in teaming with Tim Gill's Fight Back NY, is the real deal. She's personally affected by New York's lawmakers bailing on their promise to pass gay marriage legislation. And she's joined the one organization that's going to use every dollar donated to forcibly remove anti-gay legislators from office.

Earlier this month we learned of 18-year-old high school senior Constance McMillen's battle to let Itawamba Agricultural High School, in rural Mississippi, bring a lesbian date to the prom (and wear a tux). The school refused, the ACLU got involved, and now rather than let two queers infest a school dance, Itawamba administrators canceled prom for all.

Christopher Wolf is an attorney in Washington D.C. He's a partner at the law firm Hogan & Hartson, specializing in privacy law. In one pretty remarkable case from 1998, McVeigh v. Cohen, Wolf helped keep a Navy petty officer from being dismissed under Don't Ask Don't Tell, because the details used in the investigation were illegally gleaned from private AOL chats, violating the Electronic Communications Privacy Act. Wolf is also the attorney hired by former Ambassador Joseph Wilson and exposed CIA agent Valerie Plame in their since-dismissed civil suit against Vice President Dick Cheney. So you might say the guy knows a thing or two about the importance of your rights to keep your personal life, well, personal. Wolf is also a gay man — something he just decided to disclose to the entire world in a not-so-private move.

Like this one, from The Economist, which breaks down states that recognize various forms of gay unions with how many same-sex couples actually live there. Which means this week's induction of marriage in Washington D.C. actually had the most profound effect on gays per capita. Bob McDonnell is the d-bag governor of Virginia who was elected even after a 20-year-old, 93-page diatribe about how gay men (and women) were second-class citizens surfaced. Eventually, he disavowed his former remarks — but only about women, not The Gays. Which might explain why in February he issued an executive order stripping anti-discrimination protections for LGBT state workers, all part of his strategy to try to hide his bigotry until after the election. So it made sense that McDonnell's new attorney general, Ken Cuccinelli, would extend the governor's pro-discrimination platform and instruct state schools to remove protections for queer employees. Except now McDonnell is … contradicting Cuccinelli's own anti-gay positions?

We don't know the name of this 27-year-old man, but police in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, arrested him and his videographer in January after he dressed up like one of them, performed "inappropriate acts," and uploaded the video, where it went viral and was also sent around via SMS. Supposedly the man featured in the video was also once charged "with a homosexual case but was bailed out."
