GQ says that chest hair is back! But the question is, did it ever leave?

As Queerty‘s Johnny Lopez notes, gay men have had a long and varied history with body hair. In the ’70s, the “Castro Clone” aesthetic pushed a hyper-masc look hat involved snug Levis, tight T-shirts and plenty of mustaches and fur.

In the ’80s, gay men started to mimic the hairless bodybuilders of that era, partially as a reaction AIDS. Gay men wanted to accentuate their muscles and avoid appearing “unhealthy.”

This trend continued into the ’90s and even through the early 2000s, when so-called “metrosexuals” dotted nightclub floors. But over the last 15 years or so, many gays in big metros are embracing it all: mustaches, chest fur and bush!

With the weather warming up, we’re wondering where Queerty readers fall on the happy trail.

Billy Porter was a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show yesterday. Porter talked his career, favorite musicals, and about the health problems that almost cost him his life last August.

Porter fell ill with a bad case of sepsis that landed him in intensive care for several days. It led to him having to pull out of his role in the rebooted Cabaret on Broadway.

“I’m grateful to be alive,” Porter told Clarkson. “I’m a walking miracle.”

Porter became emotional when he recalled his brush with mortality.

During his illness, Porter received well wishes from friends, fans and acquaintances. One, in particular, surprised Clarkson.

It came from the heir to the British throne: Prince William.

Clarkson asked Porter how this came about.

Porter explained that he was previously asked to host an event for a non-profit that Prince William set up called the Earthshot Prize. It celebrates initiatives, people and organizations that are working to help protect the environment.

“So he asked me to come and host it. And like I said, ‘How did I get here?’ And they were like, ‘Prince William asked for you.’ I didn’t know that I was on his radar, but I guess I am.

“And so when I got sick I got a get-well letter from Kensington Palace from the Prince. It was very, very high class!”

Clarkson went on to praise the Earthshot Prize and Porter said he found the project inspiring.

“It was wonderful to be around those people and to see all of the work that they’re doing. It was great.”

Billy Porter’s 5 favorite Broadway musicals

Porter went on to talk about his new children’sbook (Songbird In The Light), and his stage work. He’s next due to appear in an off-Broadway, all-Black version of La Cage Aux Folles, starring alongside Wayne Brady.

Given his love of musical theater, Porter also ranked his favorite Broadway musicals. He stressed the list changes depending on his mood, but this was his ranking right now.

At number 5 was Hamilton.

“It changed the game,” said Porter. “That’s the first thing. It’s like first time hip hop is on Broadway. The second thing I love is that all my friends are in it,” he said jokingly, adding, “I didn’t even get an audition.”

At number 4 is West Side Story. Porter remembers it fondly when his all-Black high school staged a production.

At number 3 is Gypsy.

“One of the greatest,” says Porter. “When we say well-made, we’re talking about structure, we’re talking about entertainment value, we’re talking about all the storytelling, like everything that sort of comes together. It’s really a well-made play with astonishing music.”

A Chorus Line takes Porter’s second place.

“I’ll never forget seeing it for the first time. There’s a line across the stage, that’s all the set is. And I think it’s like 17 or 18 people on the line. And they go into this hour and a half story, there’s no break. I remember coming out of it, and the way that it’s staged, and the lighting, it’s like … I thought I had just seen a movie.”

Dreamgirls

Porter said his number one Broadway musical is Dreamgirls. It blew him away. He also praised the roles it offered Black performers. He said that before he caught the show, he first saw Jennifer Holiday, Loretta Divine and Cheryl Lee Ralph perform a routine from the show at the Tony Awards. We think he’s referring to this 1982 performance.

“I just had never seen anything like it … It changed the trajectory of my life,” recalled Porter.

Need help with sunscreen, Tom?

Daley didn’t disclose the exact location of the getaway as he simply captioned the slideshow “Mexico” and included the sun, palm tree and wave emojis.

Of course the accommodations were lavish to say the least. Daley could be seen in another photo soaking in an infinity pool that looked out to a gorgeous ocean vista.

Take a little time to enjoy the view.

He included images of his two sons with husband Dustin Lance Black in between shots of basking in the heat.

But he saved the best for last, as Daley ended the gallery with a close-up image of his bronzed abs.

Yep, they’re all there!

Now that he has his Jersey Shore-approved tan on, Daley is ready to get back to work.

The diving phenom is set to start production on the second season of his reality series Game of Wool: Britain’s Best Knitter.

A spin-off of the Great British Bake-Off, the program features amateur knitters competing in challenges in order to be crowned the top in the nation.

The gay nightlife scene in a U.S. city known for its progressive values and frigid winters may soon get a lot steamier.

For the first time in nearly 40 years, Minneapolis is considering a push to re-open the city’s bathhouses and gay sex clubs. The proposed ordinances, which include updating zoning regulations and revising health standards, would allow sex venues to operate legally.

Like many U.S. cities, Minneapolis had a thriving bathhouse scene until the AIDS crisis in the 1980s. During that time, nearly every major metro passed ordinances that banned the businesses. Minneapolis’ last legal bathhouse closed In 1988, per the Star Tribune.

Citing the public health crisis, officials across the country moved to shutter bathhouses, which was likely at the top of their wishlists anyway. Many activists and academics believe politicians used AIDS as a pretext to surveil gay people and push homosexuality back into society’s shadows.

With the advent of PrEP and retroviral drugs, the risks today are far different. Minneapolis City Council president Elliott Payne, an author of the proposed changes, told the Star Tribune that he thinks bathhouses can be a benefit for public health.

He also views them as a way to protect queer people from a hostile regime in D.C.

Across the country in San Francisco, a city supervisor has been making a similar argument for years. After passing an array of repeals of 80’s-era prohibitions, San Francisco could soon see the return of its bathhouses as well.

The story of what happened in Minneapolis, and what’s changing, mirrors shifting societal attitudes on bathhouses and cruising in general.

The battle over bathhouses

Believe it or not, some LGBTQ+ activists were proponents of closing sex clubs. The first out gay member of the Minneapolis City Council, Brian Coyle, helped pass the city’s ban in the ’80s.

He was diagnosed with HIV in 1986 and passed away from AIDS-related complications in 1991 at age 47. The Star Tribune says he warned that bathhouses facilitated “high-risk” encounters.

Before the city’s last adult bathhouse closed in ’88, the paper says a former patron of the club demonstrated outside the space and blamed anonymous sex as bathhouses for facilitating the spread of HIV.

Over in San Francisco, Larry Littlejohn, who founded a homophile organization (groups that pushed for gay rights by downplaying sex), first introduced a ballot initiative to close down the city’s baths. SF passed a number of onerous ordinances making it impossible for bathhouses to operate. The last one closed in 1987.

But figures like Coyle and Littlejohn were in the minority. Most advocates were proponents of bathhouses, and blamed conservatives for using concerns over AIDS to fulfill their long-standing objectives.

In addition to being safe places for gay sex, bathhouses were community hubs. They provided a way for medical professionals to reach at-risk people who were detached from care.

Bay Area LGBTQ+ activist Harry Breaux says closing the bathhouses in SF had the same impact on gay people as “shutting down the internet” would today.

The movement in Minneapolis

For nearly a decade, advocates have been pushing to bring back legal bathhouses in Minneapolis. A 2017 article from a now-defunct local newspaper reports on one of the early, under-the-radar meetings.

Even though PrEP had been around for five years, there still wasn’t a lot of political muster behind the movement. As recently as 2023, Minneapolis officials closed down an unlicensed sauna. It boasted around 900 members.

But in the second Tr*mp era, high-profile city officials say they see bathhouses as potential safe havens.

“Parties and events that operate as adult sex venues already happen in the shadows, and we are trying to ensure that they are safe for patrons, especially when LGBTQ+ individuals are under attack by the federal government,” Payne, who is straight, told the Star Tribune.

A spokesperson for Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey said he’s supportive of the city looking into the proposal.

As backlash grows over hookup apps and sex bots, bathhouses could also be vital antidotes to social isolation and alienation.

Bathhouses offering IRL experiences

A 2024 Minneapolis report found that six U.S. cities allow bathhouses to operate with special permits. None of those cities “reported issues with the businesses.”

Along with Minneapolis, San Francisco is looking to become one of them. In recent years, the city has lifted a number of restrictions. A City Supervisor named Rafael Mandalman, who’s gay, is leading the charge.

He told GayCities he doesn’t view bathhouses as sex-only venues. In Europe and Asia, they are social places to gather.

He doesn’t see why the same can’t be true here.

“If you think about the great bathhouses around the world, they’re not just sex venues,” he said. “They’re a kind of community center.”

In Mandalman’s mind, gay people connecting in a physical, sex-forward space is preferable to scrolling the grid. With Grindr subscriptions now costing hundreds of dollars annually, it’s also more inclusive and cost effective.

“I think it’s good for human beings,” he said. “People are social. I think we get a kind of stimulation from some of this online activity, including online-based sex apps, but it’s actually better to have more sustained community in person.”

Clearly, there’s an appetite for IRL cruising. In my home city of Chicago, the line for Steamworks, the bathhouse in Boystown, often stretches down the block on busy party weekends.

Rather than looking at their phones, prospective patrons are looking at each other.

My suspicions go back almost to the beginning of our marriage. Years ago, I came across some gay videos in his browser history on our shared family computer. I never brought it up, but over time, other moments raised questions. I’ve seen him admiring men in public and occasionally acting flirtatious — never disrespectfully, but enough to notice.

Then last month, he took a work trip to Atlanta. While reviewing our bank statement, I saw a small charge I didn’t recognize — it turned out to be from a gay bar. It was probably just a couple of drinks, and I doubt he realized he used our joint debit card.

I’ve never said anything before because I love him unconditionally. But lately, I’ve started to wonder if it’s time. We’re both approaching 60, our college-aged daughter is out of the house, and I don’t want us to spend the rest of our lives skirting something so important.

That said, I don’t want him to feel “caught” or like he owes me an explanation. He doesn’t. I’ll understand, no matter what. But I do worry that if he confirms what I’ve long suspected, it could end our marriage — and I’m scared to lose him. At the same time, I don’t want to be the reason he doesn’t live fully and authentically, if that’s what he needs to be happy.

I feel like I’m at a crossroads. What should I do?

Wife, Interrupted

Dear Wife, Interrupted,

What struck me most about your letter wasn’t just the situation you’re facing — it was the grace with which you’re navigating it. You’re not coming in with blame or trying to “catch” your husband in something. You’re pausing, reflecting, and asking how to open a tender, complicated conversation without shaming someone you love. You’ve quietly carried questions for years, and now you’re wondering how to finally bring them into the light — not to accuse, but to understand. That takes strength.

You’re not alone in this uncertain space. In any long-term relationship, people grow, change, shift — it’s part of the deal. The work becomes staying curious, staying honest, and deciding together what still fits.

Sexuality isn’t always black and white, and the ways people come to understand themselves — especially those raised in a time and culture where queerness was heavily stigmatized — can be slow, winding, and deeply private. Still, that doesn’t make it easy for the people closest to them, who are left trying to make sense of what’s unsaid. It’s about finding a careful balance — giving him space to explore his truth, without losing sight of your own. He may be on a journey toward living more openly, but you’re also deserving of a full, authentic life — including the chance for deep intimacy, connection, and yes, sexuality.

There’s no need to come to him with evidence or a demand. I think you can speak from the same place you wrote this letter. Something like, “I love you. You’re my best friend. And I’ve quietly carried some questions for a long time — questions I’ve avoided because I didn’t want to push you or risk what we have. But I also don’t want us to go the rest of our lives avoiding something that matters.”

You’re not accusing him. You’re inviting him — into honesty, into reflection, into the possibility of a deeper connection, however it evolves. And you’re doing it with care.

Because sometimes, it’s not the answers that bring people closer — it’s the willingness to ask the real questions. Truth-telling, even when it’s hard, can open up a kind of closeness grounded in clarity, not assumption. Whatever comes next, that’s a more honest place to stand.

I know part of you is scared that naming this out loud might unravel everything you’ve built. That’s a very real fear — and one that keeps many people silent. But avoiding what’s true doesn’t guarantee safety; it only creates distance. If your marriage changes in some way, it won’t be because you asked a question — it will be because you both chose to stop avoiding what’s real. And that kind of honesty — even when it’s painful — can be the start of something more grounded and genuine.

It sounds like you’ve lived with quiet questions for a long time, and the moment has come to gently face them. The truth might change your marriage — but it could also save your connection.

Everyone mourns differently.

And for Caitlyn Jenner that entails making sure she is paid back every last cent her late BFF Sophia Hutchins allegedly owed her prior to her untimely death last summer.

The 76-year-old former Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has reportedly filed a creditor’s claim against Hutchins’ estate for nearly half a million dollars, alleging Hutchins racked up the expenses on credit cards, cash advances, personal shopping, and legal fees prior to her death, per TMZ.

Jenner has an estimated net worth of $25 million.

MAGA BFF and manager Sophia Hutchins

For over a decade, Hutchins had been a constant presence and reliable sidekick immersed in Jenner’s life. Since appearing as a teenager on the right-wing trans conservative’s E! reality series I Am Cait, Hutchins went to become her manager and the CEO of the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation.

While denying rumors they were romantically involved in a lesbian relationship, Hutchins and Jenner did bond over their shared love for the convicted felon president, despite his administration’s dystopian anti-trans crusade.

As the most high-profile trans members of the MAGA cult, Jenner and Hutchins were often spotted at Mar-a-Lago mingling with those that were trying to legislate them out of public life.

Hutchins passed away in an ATV crash on July 2nd, 2025 near Jenner’s Malibu home. She was 29.

How the $440K breaks down

Just four months later, Jenner called up her lawyers and filed the claim wanting a grand total of $439,095.88 from Hutchins estate.

Jenner seems to believe Hutchins was using her money to make exorbitant purchases without her permission.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Jenner claims Hutchins spent $273K on her credit cards at online retailers like Shopify, eBay, and 1stdibs.

Jenner also alleges Hutchins owed her another $133K in legal fees for lawyers they retained together and $23K in debit charges and cash advances.

The former Olympian noted that Hutchins had access to her credit cards for work purposes and any personal expenses were expected to be paid back prior to her death.

While Jenner filed the claim in November 2025, Hutchins’ estate allowed the claim in the full amount just last month, per TMZ.

Just days after Hutchins’ death, Jenner disclosed she was going through “tough times.”

Now that she has been fully paid back, Jenner can presumably continue to heal as the duo had a strong bond that transcended a normal friendship, at least according to Hutchins.

“Caitlyn is a parent to me. I have said that a million times. It is a parental, familial relationship,” Hutchins told People in 2021. “I feel so blessed and humbled to be a part of such an amazing family and that she treats me like a daughter.”

Georgia State Senator RaShaun Kemp [on the left above] posted an adorable Easter message over the weekend. Alongside a photo of himself with his husband, Ken, and daughter, Brooklyn, Kemp said, “He is risen! Happy Easter from the Kemp’s!”

Predictably, some people dislike seeing happy gay couples with their families. It seems that pairing such photos with a faith-inspired message really brings out the holier-than-thou brigade.

Kemp’s social media posting prompted backlash from some people on X (“Repent and receive Jesus as Lord and Savior today”, “Is the kid your niece? Because I don’t see any woman or wife here”, etc). To the point where Kemp turned off the replies.

Thankfully, the image also prompted many messages of support, particularly on Threads and Instagram (although Kemp eventually turned off comments on Threads as well).

Who is RaShaun Kemp?

RaShaun Kemp is a former high school teacher and principal. A Democratic lawmaker, he was elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2024. He is unrelated to Georgia’s GOP Governor, Brian Kemp.

Kemp represents the 38th Senate District, a Fulton County seat that includes portions of Atlanta, Sandy Springs, the City of South Fulton, Fairburn, East Point, Union City, Palmetto, and Chattahoochee Hills.

His husband, Ken Kemp, is a middle school counselor and administrator in East Point.

The men married in 2021. Six months later, Brooklyn joined their family. The men also share a son, Jaden, who attends Tennessee State University. RaShaun told GLAAD in 2024 that his son Jaden had always wanted a sibling. The men may yet extend their family further.

“We don’t see two Black men who have families very often in our community,” RaShaun said to GLAAD about representation. “It isn’t very prevalent. What we do is we try just to blaze our own trail. We do have a lot of people, single guys and couples, who tell us, ‘I just love you guys, y’all are an inspiration.’ And we tell them our relationship is like a thumbprint. Everybody has a different setup. So please do not try to model your relationship on what we do.”

“I don’t want to make it seem like everything is perfect,” he added. “Everything is not always cookie cutter, like how we see in the movies or visualize as we are growing up. We’ve had struggles. But with any relationship, we have both decided that we care about each other enough that we’re going to fight through any of those struggles together. That’s the advice we like to give people. Meet someone who’s willing to always fight for you and the relationship.”

The first bill Kemp authored that passed the Georgia General Assembly was SB 93. Drawing on Kemp’s experiences as an educator, it focused on improving reading materials in schools and passed with bipartisan support.

What’s more, he’s been practicing his hockey game, adding that he’s been working on his “stick handling”—oh, we’re so sure!—as well as his hip mobility, alluding to the very same athletic stretch Hudson Williams taught Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. Put him in coach, he’s ready to play!

That’s when the ET journalist went ahead and asked if he’d heard from Tierney or anyone in the cast, to which he replied, “I’ve had some… conversations. We’ve chatted.” EXCUSE US?!?!

Pressed further if he was “booked” to join the show, Innanen offered up a little my lips are sealed gesture before adding, “Who knows?” Which in our opinion can mean only one of two things: It’s already happening, and he’s been sworn to secrecy over it. Or, conversations are still ongoing, so he can’t confirm anything yet. Either way, things are definitely moving forward!

Who could Jack Innanen play in Heated Rivalry Season 2?

Fans have taken to the comments of ET‘s Instagram post to share their excitement, but pretty immediately the conversation has turned to theories about who he might play.

As we know, Heated Rivalry the series is based on Heated Rivalry the book, first & foremost, so its main priority is the romance between Shane Hollander (Williams) & Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie). But we’ve already seen how the show’s been able to weave in other characters & storylines from Reid’s Game Changers series, like Scott Hunter (François Arnaud) & Kip Grady (Robbie G.K.), and even the cute bartender Kyle (Matthew Finlan) who gets his own love story in the Common Goal book and could see his role expanded next season.

With news of ‘Heated Rivalry’ Season 2, fans are already wondering if we’ll be seeing more of this character in the future.

That leaves plenty of options for Innanen, and the fans have narrowed it down to the three strongest possibilities.

The dark horse role in the mix seems to be Dallas Kent, a star player for the Toronto Guardians who’s unfortunately pretty homophobic and who gradually reveals himself to be one of the antagonists of the entire series, especially after SA allegations are brought forward against him.

In other words, playing Dallas means Innanen wouldn’t get to kiss any guys, so where’s the fun in that? That being said, it’s a meaty role that would surely give this rising star a chance to show his range and we can see it as a savvy career move.

Then there’s Wyatt Hayes, initially a backup goalie for the Guardians. Sadly, he’s not gay either, though he’s a vocal LGBTQ+ ally throughout the books who *spoiler alert* later plays for the Ottawa Centaurs alongside Shane & Ilya.

A bit older and described as having curly blond hair, Wyatt’s maybe not the best physical match for Innanen, but his more affable, goofy personality certainly aligns with the charming actor’s public persona.

However, if you really want to see him play gay again, then the best bet is Troy Barrett, a former Guardians player who reluctantly gets traded to play for the Centaurs. What happens next is the focus of the fifth Game Changers book called Role Model, following his secret, simmering fling with the team’s chipper social media manager, Harris Dover.

Said to be one of the hottest players in the league, it’s not hard to imagine the handsome Innanen in the role (but would he have to shave his mustache?), and the character’s arc as a total grump who’s softened by his new romance is one we could totally see the actor crushing.

So, you know which part has our vote. Though don’t expect to hear confirmation one way or another any time soon: It’s been confirmed that Heated Rivalry Season 2 is set to go into production some time this summer—maybe we’ll know by then? Or maybe they’ll keep thing under wraps until it airs in April of next year, but that’d be a true miracle on the ice.

In the meantime, you can catch Jack Innanen in Big Mistakes premiering April 9 on Netflix, and in Adults Season 2, likely to hit FX/Hulu this coming summer.
