Hilary Knight has been building a hockey legacy for years. But this time, she also made sure everybody knew exactly whose moment it was.

After helping lead Team USA women’s hockey to gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Knight’s victory lap reached far beyond the rink. Her appearance on Saturday Night Live likely made her the first out LGBTQ+ athlete to appear on the show, and the first female athlete to appear twice. 

Notably, Knight wasn’t interested in letting Team USA’s celebration get swallowed by controversy around the men’s team and D*n*ld Tr*mp. When asked about it, she kept the attention where it belonged: on the women who earned it.

“It’s a great teaching point to really shine light on how women should be championed for their amazing feats,” Knight told LGBTQ Nation. “These women are amazing, and whatever is going on should never outshine or minimize their work and our success on the world stage.”

That team-first instinct has always been part of Knight’s career. She is a five-time Olympian, a Team USA captain, and the all-time American Olympic leader in goals and points. She’s also one of the defining faces of a generation that pushed women’s hockey to be treated like the serious sport it’s always been.

Speaking to TIME before the Olympics, Knight described what it means to represent Team USA, especially against Canada, its fiercest rival. “Whenever you throw on that jersey, whenever you get to represent your country, there is just so much pride,” she said. 

That same sense of purpose was there in 2018, when Team USA won gold after the players’ 2017 fight for better treatment from USA Hockey. “We really wanted to get it done for everybody in that room and who obviously helped us get to where we were,” Knight said. “We were playing for a bigger purpose.”

For LGBTQ+ fans, Knight’s impact has another layer. In a 2023 interview on The Keller & Kess Show, she spoke directly about why coming out mattered beyond her own life.

“I realized to be able to come out is important, because there are so many people struggling with who they are,” Knight said. “Whether it’s to lend a voice or draw a little bit more attention… hopefully it’s one of those things that people can look at and feel more comfortable when they see more people come out.”

Knight’s own love story has also become part of that visibility. She and Olympic speedskater Brittany Bowe got engaged during the 2026 Games, after first connecting through the Olympic world.

“Olympics brought us together,” Knight wrote in her announcement. “This one made us forever.” The news was met with an outpouring of love, including from LGBTQ+ sports icons like Adam Rippon and Billie Jean King.

Even though she’s a famous athlete, there’s no requirement for Knight to make every interview a speech about identity in order to make an impact. Sometimes the statement is being excellent, being visible and refusing to let anyone shrink the moment.

At least we can all agree that pride looks pretty good with a gold medal, doesn’t it?

They were perpetrated by God-fearing, family values-toting Republican men who assumed their secrets would stay in the closet.

Sadly for them, that didn’t happen.

Bryon Noem’s shocking kink took center stage earlier this year when several of his dommy mommies went on the record talking about how “ICE Barbie” Kristi Noem’s husband loved fantasizing about being transformed into a double-F cup “bimbo.” Now, one sex worker is spilling it all to The Lincoln Project, and making some salient points about Republican sex fantasies in the process.

“It’s just a Republican thing,” dominatrix Shy Sotomayor explains. “I’ve come across a lot submissives, they would do just about anything for Tr*mp.”

Bryon Noem’s kink is far from the only BDSM bombshell we’ve seen in the past few years. The problem is so prevalent, in fact, that in 2018, Politico wrote a report on why Republicans are more likely to engage in kinky extramarital fantasies that have the potential not only to embarrass them, but to out them as being far more deviant than any identity found on the LGBTQ+ spectrum.

“I surveyed 4,175 adult Americans from all 50 states about what turns them on,” wrote Tell Me What You Want authorJustin Lehmiller in 2018. He found that: “Republicans were more likely than Democrats to fantasize about a range of activities that involve sex outside of marriage.” They also were prone to “fantasies with voyeuristic themes, including visiting strip clubs and practicing something known as “cuckolding,” which involves watching one’s partner have sex with someone else.”

Considering the Jerry Falwell Jr. fallout, it makes perfect sense. Republican men crave power, but they’re turned on by the loss of it. That’s why the risky behaviors that make headlines offer a consistent contradiction between what these men openly preach, and what they privately prefer.

You might assume this tension reached its peak during the early Tr*mp years, but that’s not the case.

In 2023, after Tr*mp’s first term was in the rearview, a separate report found that both Democrats and Republicans were seeking out fetish content like never before. “Liberals desire being dominated by conservatives and called pejoratives,” wrote one Washington Post reporter, “while conservatives want to be mocked for supporting former president D*n*ld Tr*mp, among other perceived transgressions, according to those who participate in this subculture.”

The kink works both ways, of course: one bisexual Republican (yup, you read that right) who founded the MAGA Doms/Dommes and Libt*rd Subs group on FetLife only spoke on condition of anonymity, since he knows that if his kink was found out, he’d lose everything.

Apparently, that’s part of the thrill, and it’s baked right into the American two-party system. Critiquing reformed neocon Robert Kagan’s treatise on our dying democracy, one Baffler writer pointed out last year that: “from the beginning, [American] democracy was defined as possession—guarded for some, denied to others.” Possession of land, rights, or other finite privileges afforded at first only to the most powerful. As liberals seek to make the country truly democratic, offering the same possibilities and benefits for everyone across the board, Republicans fall into cycles of “humiliation and revenge.”

Tr*mp’s autocracy stands at the matrix of these seemingly contradictory forces: as he continues to massively fumble his second term in office, Republicans must feel some degree of humiliation, even as they count on Tr*mp to enact his revenge against what they see as the liberal agenda that defined the Obama years.

As we’re seeing, however, even the Republicans can’t help but purposely undercut their political wins with personal humiliations. Bryon Noem is only one of many. It seems like every week we hear about another anti-LGBTQ+ politician or preacher getting caught soliciting minors or worse. Being caught is starting to feel like a significant part of the kink: unless they’re risking everyone by engaging in hypocritical acts of deviancy, they can’t get off.

Which is sad for them, but pretty sweet for the rest of us watching from the wings.

After he filmed what would become his breakthrough role on Heated Rivalry, but before the hot hockey romance aired & became a global phenomenon, the actor booked a part on the Paramount+ procedural drama that was only meant to be a one-episode guest star slot. But they were so impressed they decided to expand his role for a four-episode arc.

Previewing Storrie’s Criminal Minds debut on June 11, series creator Emily Messer spoke with Vulture about casting the role of Lance Kingston, a “a charming narcissist with a deep sense of entitlement” who becomes involved with the show’s Behavioral Analysis Unit after being accused of stalking his girlfriend.

“We were very much interested in finding somebody that would stand out a bit. Connor won that, hands down,” Messer says, revealing that his then-forthcoming work on Heated Rivalry wasn’t even a consideration—because no one had seen it yet!

But, like the rest of the world would soon be, they were blown away by the charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent he brought to set. So much so that Messer and her team immediately set out to write more material for him.

“We were like, ‘Okay, I know he was important for episode four, but we’ve got to make him more integral to the rest of the season’,” she recalls, noting that the decision was made “100 percent because he was so compelling.”

Along with some exclusive preview photos—which showcase Storrie showing off those signature biceps of his!—Vulture also reports that his character, Lance, will go “toe-to-toe” with the series’ heroes. And, apparently, in a role reversal of his Ilya/Shane dynamic, he’ll be the one getting dommed here, specifically by Adam Rodriguez’s character Luke Alvez. Umm, sounds hot! We’re in!

Suffice it to say, we anticipate a whole new audience tuning into Criminal Minds: Evolution this week, considering what a hot commodity Storrie’s become.

Anticipation is especially is high because it’s technically the 26-year-old star’s first proper screen role post-Heated Rivalry. We say “technically” because he also very briefly appeared in an episode of Apple TV’s sci-fi drama For All Mankind that aired last month (apparently filmed back in 2024), but that’s just one brief line of dialogue—amusingly also delivered in a Russian accent, we might add.

But with Lance, he’ll be ditching the accent, and getting to show us his range, playing someone who’s presumably just as intimidating as Ilya Rozanov, but much less of a secret softie.

What’s Next For Connor Storrie

And, of course, this is just the beginning for Storrie, whose somehow find time to film multiple projects between the Heated Rivalry press tour, magazine photoshoots, all of the red carpets, hosting SNL, and that booytlicious Verizon ad.

He’s already wrapped on an upcoming A24 comedy called Peaked from Molly Gordon, which boasts a star-studded ensemble (including Dua Lipa, Laura Dern, Amy Sedaris, Owen Thiele, Gabby Windey, and Alex Consani, to name a few) and tells the story of to high school queen bees hoping to re-embrace their teen popularity at their 10-year reunion.

And Storrie’s reportedly in the middle of filming a lead role in the thriller Turpentine from Craig Zobel (Mare Of Easttown), playing a deadbeat son who hires someone to rob his own parents, one of whom just so happens to be played by the iconic Melissa McCarthy.

He’s also attached to a mysterious new project from Babygirl filmmaker Halina Reijn, which is super exciting, too, but let’s be honest: at this point we’re starting to worry Storrie’s not going to have time to get back to the rink for Heated Rivalry!

Well, never fear, because Season 2 is set to begin filming this summer for an April 2027 release date. As reported, the new episodes will largely be based on Rachel Reid’s follow-up novel The Long Game, following Shane & Ilya growing into their relationship while still trying to keep it a secret from the world.

“It really is different,” showrunner Jacob Tierney recently teased. “And the challenge, from an adaptation standpoint, is you’re in much more serious territory. There’s still lots of flirting, and there’s lots of sex, but it’s this kind of danger. This kind of ‘hotel room, adolescent sex’ stuff is largely gone.”

But it makes sense that things will feel a little different. After all, Connor Storrie went into the first season as a relative unknown, and he’ll be walking into this one a superstar. As far as we’re concerned, he’s just getting started.

Galitzine will play Hoyt Richards in a biopic. Deadline reports that Gus Van Sant is in negotiations to direct.

Richards, 64, is regarded by many as the world’s first male supermodel. He rose to fame in the 1980s with campaigns for Gianni Versace, Valentino, Gianfranco Ferré, Ralph Lauren, and Donna Karan, among many others. Photographers he worked with included Bruce Weber, Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton and Steven Meisel.

He also did some acting, appearing in movies such as the Harrison Ford and Anne Heche rom-com Six Days, Seven Nights.

Eternal Values cult

Richards also made headlines for becoming involved with The Eternal Values cult. Its leader preyed upon male models and other wealthy young people, persuading them to part with their money and distance themselves from their families.

Richards reportedly donated millions to the organization. He escaped it in 1999 and has since spoken out about the dangers of such cults.

That part of Richards’ life is the subject of a three-part HBO documentary, Bring Me the Beauties: A Model Cult. It dropped on June 1.

Deadline says no plot details about the Hoyt Richards movie have been confirmed.

Canadian actor Galitzine first came to attention as Prince Henry in the hit queer romance, Red, White & Royal Blue. Its sequel, Red, White and Royal Wedding, wrapped filming in March and is likely to hit Amazon later this year. He also features in Pete Berg’s WWII-set sports drama, The Mosquito Bowl.

Gus Van Sant first made his name in the late 80s with Drugstore Cowboy and My Own Private Idaho. He earned Best Director Academy Award nominations for Good Will Hunting (1997) and Milk (2008), about the life of San Francisco activist and council member Harvey Milk.

Besides satiating watching Antoni pool hop around the world, the show will also see him gain “rare access inside Big Ben’s Great Clock, sample generations old art of cheese making at Quatrehomme Paris, drift off in a surreal dreamscape at Quetzalcoatl’s Nest in Mexico City, and handing out medals alongside world-class volunteers at the finish line of the New York City Marathon,” a release noted.

And if that isn’t enough to hold your attention, the cookbook author will also hit up spas and don sleeveless tanks at local wellness facilities.

“Travel has always been my way of understanding the world – and myself,” Antoni said in a statement. “Exploring these cities alongside the people who call them home reminded me that what makes a place special isn’t just what you see, but who you meet and the stories you’re invited into.”

This is Antoni’s second venture with National Geographic having hosted the 2025 travel series No Taste Like Home with Antoni Porowski for the channel.

Beyond reality shows, Antoni has stayed booked and busy with his multiple brand sponsorship deals. In the last few months, he has appeared in campaigns for Peroni, the Canadian grocery chain Loblaws, and most importantly, in a series of body-baring ads for SAXX Underwear.

As of late, he’s also appeared in two ads with his real life boyfriend, Peloton trainer Zacharias Niedzwiecki. The hunky duo played versions of themselves in campaigns for DoorDash and Boss. Make those boyfriend bucks, boys!

It’s unclear if Zacharias will pop up in any of Best of the World episodes, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for a cameo.

Best of the World with Antoni Porowski premieres June 7 on National Geographic and all four episodes will be available to stream the following day on Disney+ and Hulu.

In a grotesque new ad, a Tr*mp-aligned group called “Citizens for Sanity” uses an AI-generated image of the Texas Democratic Senate nominee wearing a dress and singing about trans kids. The lyrics are as dopey as expected.

“Boys in white dresses with blue satin stashes,” sings the AI-created digital monstrosity. “Girls dusted with hormones until they grow mustaches. Changing the gender of all your offspring. These are a few of my favorite things!”

Republicans attacking Talarico for his pro-LGBTQ+ stances is nothing new. For months, they’ve tried to distort his support of trans kids in particular, insinuating the 36-year-old has perverted motives.

A Presbyterian seminarian and the grandson of a Baptist preacher, Talarico uses his faith to preach unity and tolerance. And Texas Republicans can’t handle it. They’re much more comfortable with a hypocrite hate-monger like GOP Senate nom. Ken Paxton, a Bible-thumper who cheats on his wife (she divorced him last year on “biblical grounds”).

That said, twisting an opponent’s words is an old trick in politics. The AI garbage that GOP groups now pump out is a new, dystopian brand of deception.

The AI election

The 2026 midterms are shaping up to be the AI election. Lucky us!

In the L.A. mayor’s race, backers of former reality show villain Spencer Pratt blasted out numerous AI videos on his behalf. One of the creative abominations that captured the most attention featured the ex-Celebrity Big Brother contestant saving a Gotham-esque L.A. that’s burning to the ground. The current mayor, Karen Bass, is depicted as the Joker in white face paint.

Another video shows an AI-generated group of affluent women confessing their support for Heidi Montag’s husband after a pilates class.

Though these atrocities went viral on X, it turns out that Pratt’s support was as real as an AI image. He finished third in the mayor’s race with just 25.8% of the vote, vastly underperforming Tr*mp in the City of Angels.

While Pratt’s AI slop failed to swindle liberal L.A. voters, backers of Republican Ed Gallrein were more successful in Kentucky. The Tr*mp-backed candidate defeated Rep. Thomas Massie in their GOP primary, a loss that Massie blames on deceptive AI ads.

In one of them, a fake image of Massie is seen checking into a hotel room with fake images of Reps. AOC and Ilhan Omar, inferring they’re romantically involved (Massie often votes with the Squad on anti-war measures).

“It was actually very effective on the boomers,” he added.

Speaking of which…

Tr*mp loves AI

Nobody seems to love AI more than the president himself. The almost 80-year-old routinely shares deranged AI-produced images and videos on social media.

Most recently, he posted a bizarre montage that shows AI-generated people from all over the world hanging out with him in various, ethnically stereotypical settings. “They love Donald, Donald Tr*mp,” the lyrics repeat.

Many of the images are profoundly racist.

Last month, Tr*mp went on an AI posting spree, targeting Stephen Colbert, Rep. Ro Khanna and Greenland (truly).

With a fried brain and detachment from reality, Tr*mp is the perfect mark for AI.

His administration has gone all-in on the all-powerful technology…

The AI presidency

Despite seldom being mentioned in 2024, AI now dominates our politics and society. The White House has pushed for a laissez-faire approach towards AI, despite dire warnings from its creators that it could leave millions jobless.

In response to public pressure, Tr*mp recently signed an executive order that could allow for some regulation. But it’s still a light touch. AI is single-handedly propping up U.S. GDP growth (big tech companies spent more on AI data centers in a single quarter than the Manhattan Project cost in total).

Elon Musk’s SpaceX just had the largest IPO ever at $75 billion, and the companies behind ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Claude (Anthropic) are aiming for IPOs of $1 trillion. When they go public, more billionaires will be created than at any point in human history.

Meanwhile, Republicans keep drowning us in AI slop. Hopefully we can come up for air.

It’s been a tough week for Hudson Williams.

The Heated Rivalry star has been the subject of intense backlash after a high school photo resurfaced on TMZ showing the actor with, among other black markings on his face, a swastika. The internet remains sharply divided on how to meet the crisis. Do we give Williams a pass for doing something dumb in his teen years? Or do we hold his feet to the fire?

Over the past few days, it would seem like Peloton chose the latter option. When fans noticed billboards with Williams’ sweaty, Fame-soundtracked ad removed—along with references to the ad campaign wiped from the official Peloton social media accounts—they assumed the worst.

The video—which instantly got a viral fan remix to the tune of Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out for a Hero”—became a sensation in its own right when it debuted in April, thanks to the powerful thirst of thousands of Heated Rivalry fans eager to watch Williams sweat and strut his stuff on a treadmill. But now, those billboards are gone, and the campaign seems to have been wiped from the official Peloton account.

The twist here is that Peloton has already responded, saying that they removed Williams’ campaign because it came to a natural, contractually agreed-upon end, not because of the current controversy.

But fans still aren’t buying it.

Not only did Peloton delete the original social media posts concerning the campaign, they’ve unfollowed Williams as well. One Williams fan account added some clarity, explaining that Peloton only follows athletes on the official account, not actors, even if they’ve previously starred in campaigns.

A source from the brand confirmed to the gossip site Deux Moi that the campaign removal had nothing to do with the resurfaced photos.

Even if it has nothing to do with what just happened this week, fans agree that the timing couldn’t be poorer. Though brands tend to be quite quick about distancing themselves from any whiff of scandal, the circumstances surrounding Williams are more complex than the average celebrity faux pas. While many viewers were disturbed by the images of Williams, others saw the photos as the result of a racist smear campaign by bad faith actors.

Whatever Peloton’s relationship to the drama, deleting the modern equivalent of Michelangelo’s David is definitely a sad choice. In addition to showing us Williams in many tantalizing positions, the video’s director Bethany Vargas has also been the force behind some of the most viral ads of the past few years, including the Gap “woke jeans” masterpiece with Katseye and Lady Gaga’s video for “Abracadabra.”

But she really broke the mold (and our brains) with that Peloton spot. The ad was wonderful while it lasted, and thanks to many Internet heros, it will be preserved in perpetuity online… just not on the official Peloton account.

This week, we’ve seen firsthand how nothing on the internet ever really disappears, in ways both wonderful and terrible. Williams getting down on a treadmill, however, will live rent free in our hearts and online, no matter what dark forces try to erase it from the record—especially that Bonnie Tyler remix.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar is the full package.

The extremely fit Saved By the Bell legend has pulled out all the, erm, stops to help launch his new series centered around a male Hooters-esque restaurant.

Gosselaar, who famously rose to stardom as Zack Morris on SBTB more than 30 years ago, was a surprise guest during the Bell Media Upfronts in Toronto. Appearing to not have aged a day, the 52-year-old strutted out on stage in a skimpy outfit to promote the new show Bulges, by nonchalantly flaunting his.

Decked out in a sleeveless white crop top bearing the show’s name, a pair of blue booty shorts and knee-high white tube socks. MPG was giving himbo excellence.

Gosselaar let his ripped six-pack, thicc muscular thighs and buff biceps take center stage as he danced around and threw air kisses to the crowd.

It’s safe to say the girls, gays and theys of a certain age where definitely in the midst of a full-blown Zack Attack!

A fan at the event captured the thirst-inducing moment and included the caption: “Ok Zack Morris I didn’t know you still played like that.” Oh but he does!

Bulges

Bulges is a workplace comedy set at an “iconic and once-thriving all-male, not-so-family-friendly restaurant in Niagara Falls,” is how it was described by Deadline.

Justin Stockman, VP, Global Content for Bell Media, added: “So if Hooters is for a mainly male clientele, BULGES is for a mainly female clientele. The waiters are men, and they wear shorts. The rest is obvious. It’s basically Hooters for women.”

Understood, but don’t be so quick to alienate your gays. As political commentator and pundit Peter Rothpletz noted in a fantastic New York Times piece, Hooters can be an unlikely gay safe space!

As far as casting Zack Morris and his abs, Stockman added: “we wanted someone who might pique the interest of, ‘what is this show, and why is he on it?’ Mark-Paul Gosselaar fits the bill perfectly, and he’s very committed and super into it.”

That’s for damn sure.

Bulges is currently filming now and Gosselaar, while committed to doing whatever he has to as for as the show’s wardrobe needs, still hasn’t full embraced the show’s title.

In a recent interview with iHeartRadio, MPG admitted he still finds himself whispering the show’s title when asked what he’s currently working on.

Now some bad news, Bulges is a Canadian comedy series and it’s still unclear if it will get distribution in the United States.

But unless TV executives have been living under a rock the last six months, they’ve seen the success of another little racy Canadian series called Heated Rivalry and there will be no shortage of takers of Bulges.

Until then, we’ll keep a lookout for new images of MPG in character.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) came fifth yesterday in the South Carolina Republican gubernatorial primary.

Tr*mp-endorsed candidate Pamela Evette and current Attorney General Alan Wilson came out on top. As neither achieved over 50% of the vote, they will advance to a second primary later this month.

Mace was quick to concede defeat and endorse Wilson instead.

Among those to react to Mace’s dismal failure was Democratic Rep. Sarah McBride, the first out, trans member of Congress.

On X, McBride re-shared a tweet comparing Mace to Riley Gaines. The female swimmer once came fifth in a college race, behind a trans swimmer, and then managed to create an anti-trans media career for herself. McBride offered up her “Thoughts and prayers” to Mace.

The beef between Mace and McBride

Mace positioned herself as a supporter of LGBTQ+ rights as recently as 2023. However, she then changed her mind and came out as vehemently anti-trans. In 2024, Mace introduced an anti-trans bathroom bill to ban trans women from using female bathrooms in Congress.

Asked at the time if her bill was due to the election victory of McBride in Delaware, Mace said, “Yes and absolutely, and then some. I’m absolutely 100% gonna stand in the way of any man who wants to be in a women’s restroom, in our locker rooms, in our changing rooms. I will be there fighting you every step of the way.”

“Thoughts and prayers” was apparently not McBride’s only message to Mace after her stunning loss yesterday.

According to Axios reporter Andrew Solender, Mace also commented, “Congress’ top bathroom sheriff, Nancy Mace, was on the ballot. And while all of the votes have not yet been counted, she’s in a respectful 5th place. I don’t like to punch down and I believe in the politics of grace, so I’ll just say, Happy Pride, Nancy.”

Gay Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, a State Rep. in Pennsylvania, was among those to welcome McBride’s tweet.

Others said McBride had every right to enjoy this moment of karma.

Others questioned Mace’s rush to endorse Alan Wilson. Mace has consistently criticized Wilson during her gubernatorial campaign. In January, she criticized his office’s record on prosecuting those accused of crimes against kids.

“If you’re a p*dophile, you definitely want Alan Wilson to prosecute your case,” said Rep. Mace in a press statement at the start of the year. “Wilson needs to answer for what he’s done to our children in South Carolina.”

Wilson has previously dismissed Mace’s claims as “categorically false“. Last night, he said the two had “buried our hatchet” and thanked Mace for her endorsement.

Mace responded to her loss with a lengthy social media post.

“I will always be grateful for the people of South Carolina who trusted me, fought with me, and refused to look the other way. This isn’t the end of the fight. It’s just the end of this chapter,” she concluded.

“I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to serve my fellow country man and serve the greatest state in the nation, South Carolina.”
