Vienna Miller asked:

You’ve seen the name everywhere. Hoodia Gordonii has taken the weight loss world by storm. Being touted as the next miracle weight loss pill, Hoodia is now being put into everything from multivitamins to Trimspa.

But does Hoodia work?

Considering the debacle that was Ephedra, consumers are right to be cautious about this new weight loss pill. Does Hoodia actually work to help you lose weight? Does it really do what the pill manufacturers say?

Well, Hoodia has been shown to have some specific effects in the area of weight loss. But there are certain things you should know before running out to buy the latest Hoodia pill from your drug store.

Here are 3 ways Hoodia helps you lose weight and 3 other things you should know to make Hoodia work best for you.

#1) Hoodia Makes You Physically Less Hungry

Pure Hoodia contains a molecule scientists called “P57″ which, they believe, is responsible for making you feel full.

Normally, when you eat food, this food turns to glucose. When the glucose in your body rises it eventually signals to your brain (the hypothalamus) that you are full.

It is believed that “P57″ molecule in Hoodia mimics the effect that glucose has on your brain, telling part of your brain (the Hypothalamus) that you feel full. Consequently, you are physically less hungry.

One of the first studies of Hoodia Gordonii was done in the UK on obese patients. Half of the volunteers were given Hoodia Gordonii, the other half were given a placebo.

The subjects were allowed to do nothing but read, watch television and eat. After 15 days it was found that those taking Hoodia had reduced their calorie intake by 1000 calories a day. Despite having unlimited access to food, the Hoodia subjects lost weight without feeling hungry.

#2) Hoodia Turns Off The Desire To Overeat

Some people have reported that not only does Hoodia make them feel full, but it also shuts off their desire to eat.

As many of us know, we can feel physically satisfied but still eat for a variety of reasons like emotions, timing and social influence. In fact emotional eating is actually responsible for more overeating than physical hunger.

Hoodia can help some people lose weight by quenching this desire to eat and breaking the emotional attachment to food.

By quenching this emotional attachment to food, Hoodia can help the individual to develop new emotional coping skills that don’t include using food for comfort.

Note: Hoodia may not have this effect on everyone, however many people have reported having less of a desire to eat after taking Hoodia.

#3) By Turning Off Your Appetite Hoodia Allows You To Start Making Positive, Healthy Food Choices

How many times have we planned to eat healthy and then that old, ugly hunger rears it’s ugly head and demands food NOW. We end up reaching for anything that’s fast, easy and usually unhealthy.

By turning off your appetite, Hoodia allows you to start to make positive, healthy food choices. It takes the pain out of building new healthier eating choices. Since you probably don’t want to be on Hoodia forever, this is a great way to lose weight and transition your eating to a healthier, lighter diet – with less pain and deprivation.

So those are 3 ways Hoodia Gordonii can help you lose weight. Does that mean that it will? Not necessarily. In order for Hoodia to help you achieve your weight loss goals there are several factors you must consider:

1) Make Sure You Buy From A Pure Source.

Unfortunately, there are scam artists who are taking advantage of the current demand for Hoodia by packaging fake Hoodia, fillers or even sawdust – and then selling it as Hoodia.

Look for genuine South African Hoodia from a seller who displays both a C.I.T.E.S certificate on their website along with Lab Assays and testing of their Hoodia pills. If you’re not sure about which Hoodia brand to buy, do more research until you feel comfortable with your decision.

2) Make Sure You Are Taking Enough Hoodia.

The correct dosage varies depending on whom you talk to but most people start with about 400 mg three times a day before meals. They then increase the dosage up as high as 1000 mg three times daily until they find the dose that works for them.

Also, give it several days for the Hoodia to take effect before you increase your current dose.

3) Make Sure You Consult Your Doctor Before Taking Hoodia or Making Any Change To Your Diet or Exercise Routine.

This one is a given but surprisingly many people don’t do it and it can result in you wasting your time and effort for no good reason. If, for example, you have a medical condition that makes it hard to lose weight, Hoodia may not work for you as you’d hoped. Talk to your doctor before trying anything new.

So those are 3 ways Hoodia works to help you lose weight and reach your goals. Hoodia does work. Make sure you follow these suggestions and you’ll be well on your way to weight loss success with Hoodia.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

Ivan A Cuxeva asked:

There are several weight loss pills marketed today, however one which has become quite popular is called Hoodia Gordonii. This pill is made of a plant with the same name, it is also known by several other names such as Hoodia cactus, South African desert cactus, Ghaap, etc. The pronunciation of its popular commercial name is Hoo-dee-ahh. This plant grows primarily in the semi-deserts of South Africa where it was discovered by local tribes and used for its amazing properties. The specific areas where this plant has been found are: Angola, Botswana and Namibia.

One of the reasons Hoodia emerged and gained popularity is due to ban of the dangerous pill “Ephedra” which is known to cause several dangerous side effects and even death. Hoodia has not shown dangerous side effects after being tested in first animals and then people. The properties of Hoodia were first tested by South African indigenous tribes (the San Bushmen) who ate this plant during extended hunting trips, they knew that this plant had substances which suppressed their hunger and thirst allowing them to push themselves far enough until they were able to get some food.

The Hoodia plant resembles a cactus which is why it is referred to as the desert cactus, however this plant shouldn’t be confused with traditional desert cactus which lack the properties of this plant. It is also said that Hoodia is actually a succulent plant once it is properly prepared, however the process of harvesting the plant involves a lot of work, for instance the plant takes about five years for the it purple flowers to appear which indicates it is ready to be cut and processed.

The active ingredient which suppresses hunger and thirst is called p57 and has only be found in this desert plant, p57 is a steroidal glycoside which triggers chemical reactions within our body allowing us to loose weight. According to studies conducted by the manufacturer Phytopharm which involved 18 humans, it was found that the use of this substance reduced the food intake of all subjects which allowed them to reduce the intake of 1000 calories on average.

p57, Hoodia’s active ingredient has shown no dangerous side effects, however running the risk of stating the obvious, people who take several pills for different medical conditions should consult their physician before using Hoodia pills, pregnant woman should stay away from any diet pill until the baby is born and their doctor indicates it is safe to start a weight loss program.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

Patsy Hamilton asked:

Some ingredients in hoodia gordonii supplements are stimulants. These are the hoodia herb combos and one should follow the manufacturer’s suggested dosage. If any side effects are noticed, such as increased heart rate or nervousness, these are most likely attributable to some natural stimulant that is included in the product. Clinical research and patient use has indicated that no side effects are experienced when using 100% hoodia gordonii products.

How much hoodia should I take? Some people report that it takes 3000mg per day to adequately control their appetites. Others report that 1500mg does the job for them. This may be a factor of body weight. Since ingredients in hoodia supplements vary, it is best to follow the manufacturers suggested dosage. Some companies advise one or two capsules in the morning and then one or two in the afternoon with a full glass of water. Some suggest one capsule with a full glass of water one hour before meals or three times per day. Sometimes this depends on the milligrams of hoodia in each capsule.

How much hoodia should I take if I am pregnant or nursing? The one word answer to this question is none.

How much hoodia should I take if I have not consulted my doctor? The one word answer, again, is none. While there is no evidence that taking hoodia gordonii as a weight loss supplement is dangerous or can complicate existing medical conditions. Clinical research is incomplete at this time. There are some informal studies and some doctors recommend hoodia for their patients, but only your doctor knows your complete medical history. To repeat, the ingredients in hoodia supplements vary and it is important to let your doctor know what those ingredients are.

How much hoodia should I take to lose weight? Taking hoodia alone will not make you lose weight. It may suppress your hunger. People, unlike other animals, do not just eat because they are hungry. People eat out of habit, boredom and many other reasons. No matter what the ingredients in hoodia gordonii can do, they can not take the place of a reasonable diet and appropriate exercise.

For answers to other questions like; how much hoodia should I take, visit the Hoodia Info Blog.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

Travis Van Slooten asked:

I’ve been researching and writing about hoodia supplements for over a year now and I can’t believe I haven’t written an article about hoodia, 60 minutes, and the BBC reports. What sparked my interest in finally writing this story was because I was fed up with all the bogus 60 minutes and BBC endorsements of specific hoodia diet pills.

Visit almost any website that is selling or promoting hoodia supplements and you’ll likely see the words prominently displayed, “As featured on” or “Endorsed by,” followed by the CBS 60 Minutes logo and the BBC logo. What you are led to believe is that the hoodia diet pill being promoted was featured or endorsed by these two media programs. Not only was a specific hoodia supplement not featured or endorsed by 60 minutes or the BBC, but no hoodia diet pill was tested or endorsed at all!

Leslie Stahl, a 60 Minutes reporter, featured a story on hoodia on November 21, 2004. Ms. Stahl traveled to the Kalahari Desert, where the hoodia gordonii plant is grown in the wild, and actually ate a small piece of the plant. She said after eating the plant she noticed a marked appetite suppressant quality. She said she wasn’t hungry all day. Ms. Stahl concluded that natural hoodia probably worked as an appetite suppressant.

That’s all she said about hoodia. 60 minutes did not endorse any specific hoodia supplement. The CBS program didn’t even feature a hoodia supplement to begin with! You would never know this unless you actually read the transcripts of the 60 minutes program yourself. Unfortunately, all too many hoodia sellers have capitalized on this story and have twisted it to their advantage to sell more of their products.

The BBC report is another example where hoodia sellers have taken a story and have spun it to their advantage. The BBC did a documentary on hoodia in 2003. Tom Mangold, a well-known BBC correspondent, also traveled to the Kalahari Desert to try the hoodia gordonii plant himself. Mr. Mangold and his camera man each ate a small piece of the plant. The pair reported that they, “did not even think about food” for the rest of the day. Even more amazing, they reported that they didn’t want breakfast the next morning and their appetite during lunchtime was nearly nonexistent.

Again, you’ll notice the BBC story did not even test a specific hoodia supplement, let alone endorse one. Just as Leslie Stahl had done in her 60 Minutes story, Tom Mangold of the BBC actually ate the plant itself. Neither reporter tried a specific hoodia product. And they certainly didn’t endorse a specific brand.

The next time you visit a website promoting or selling a hoodia supplement that claims their product was featured or endorsed by 60 Minutes and the BBC, immediately click to another website. Any company that is willing to misrepresent a media story so that it works to their advantage so they can sell more of their products obviously isn’t honest. If they aren’t willing to be honest about something as simple as the media coverage of hoodia on 60 Minutes and the BBC, how honest do you really think they are about the quality and authenticity of the product they are selling?

Fit Yummy Mummy!

Patsy Hamilton asked:

It is necessary to do a little research, before you can be sure that the product you are buying is genuine hoodia gordonii. There are many varieties of the hoodia plant, but only genuine hoodia gordonii is believed to be a natural appetite suppressant. The Food and Drug Administration does not approve health supplements as they do prescription drugs, so there is no FDA approved hoodia. Consumers must protect themselves by looking for certain things, before they buy.

Many people have heard about genuine hoodia gordonii. News reporters have traveled to Africa to sample the plant. Phytopharm, a British pharmaceutical company is currently researching the effects of extracts from the genuine hoodia gordonii plant. If Phytopharm ends up releasing a prescription form of hoodia, it will have to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration before it can be sold in the United States. But, currently there is no FDA approved hoodia. While the FDA does regulate the manufacturing practices of health supplement companies to a certain extent. The FDA does not approve or disapprove dietary supplements. It is only in rare cases when the FDA will make a statement about a health supplement.

Many health supplement companies are marketing products which claim to contain genuine hoodia gordonii for use by dieters as natural appetite suppressants. While most of these companies are undoubtedly delivering reliable and high quality products, there have been reports which state that some of these products do not contain any genuine hoodia gordonii, at all. So, how can the consumer have any confidence in the products that he or she is buying? If there is no FDA approved hoodia, then what should the consumer look for?

The first thing to look for is a CITES document. Wild growth of genuine hoodia gordonii is protected from exportation by legislation in southern Africa, the only place that genuine hoodia grows. In order to legally export genuine hoodia gordonii, a manufacturer must have a CITES license. Legally exported hoodia is grown on farms. A reputable supplement company should be willing to make their licenses available for inspection by consumers. While this is not an FDA approved hoodia product, it has been approved for export by the South African government.

The second thing to look for is chemical analysis reports. Samples of genuine hoodia gordonii are compared by independent testing facilities with samples of the health supplement in question. By the time genuine hoodia becomes a health supplement, it looks like a fine brown or light green powder, baring no resemblance to the genuine hoodia plant. But labs can still test this powder using microscopic and other techniques to determine if the powder is genuine hoodia gordonii or not. While these tests are not required by the FDA, since there is no FDA approved hoodia products, responsible manufacturers do have these tests performed.

Phytopharm has invested millions of dollars researching genuine hoodia gordonii and it’s potential as an appetite suppressant. They are concerned that p57, the active molecule in genuine hoodia gordonii may not be present in large enough quantities to have an effect on a person’s appetite. Since there is no FDA approved hoodia currently on the market and even Phytopharm’s product may not be a prescription drug (the only hoodia that would be FDA approved) since they are now partnered with Unilever, makers of Slim Fast, food products and over-the counter medications. The chemical analysis reports of the better hoodia products do show the presence of the p57 molecule.

Dieters who have tried the appetite suppressants currently on the market report mixed reviews; as with most health supplements. Even genuine hoodia gordonii only works for some people. No one is claiming that healthy diet and a reasonable exercise program are not important for weight loss. While genuine hoodia gordonii products may help to curb a person’s appetite, it will not magically melt the fat off of a person’s body. Any company that makes such a claim should be reported to the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC investigates reports of deceptive claims made by health supplement and other companies. The FTC also offers guidelines for identifying weight loss scams. These can be viewed at the official FTC website.

So, while there is no FDA approved hoodia, customers can protect themselves by educating themselves. A reasonable money-back guarantee also inspires confidence and manufacturers of most genuine hoodia gordonii products will issue refunds on unopened bottles if the product fails to produce desired results.

For more information about genuine hoodia visit the Hoodia Info Blog.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

The same is true of the products which contain hoodia mixed with other ingredients (pur hoodia plus, tru hoodia, hoodia gordonii plus, etc.). Then there are the liquid hoodia products, with names like Desert Juice and Hoodia Juice. Designed for those who have difficulty swallowing a capsule, liquid hoodia is preferred by some.

Hoodia sprays are interesting in that some of them contain alcohol, the labels say organic alcohol, and that is true, all alcohols are organic. There are too many hoodia products to compare in one article, so this comparison focuses on four products, Desert Juice and Hoodia Juice, which are liquids and pur hoodia plus versus hoodia gordonii plus, which contain hoodia combined with other herbs.

Desert Juice is liquid hoodia sold by the Desert Burn Company. They also sell hoodia coffee, tea and capsules. Hoodia Juice is sold through several different distributors and the price per bottle varies from company to company. Pur hoodia plus is distributed by a company called Direct Alternatives. Hoodia Gordonii Plus is a product from Ultra Herbal Supplements.

When purchasing liquid hoodia, consumers are wise to follow the same guidelines as they would follow when purchasing any hoodia product. In other words, if you want genuine hoodia gordonii, the natural appetite suppressant, you need to look for CITES documents or at least a chemical analysis report verifying authenticity.

Hoodia Juice liquid hoodia does not display any certifications of authenticity that we found. Desert Juice displays CITES documents, chemical analysis reports and phyto-sanitary certification. Pur hoodia plus and hoodia gordonii plus use hoodia gordonii purchased from Stella Labs. Stella Labs has the appropriate documentation displayed to support statements that they are supplying genuine hoodia gordonii.

A bottle of liquid hoodia usually comes in a 30 day or one month supply, but with some of these products it is hard to judge the serving size. Sometimes the dropper will fill halfway and sometimes full, so a bottle of liquid hoodia may not last the full thirty days.

Pur hoodia plus contains green tea and banaba leaf. Banaba is a tree that grows in Thailand and is said to lower blood glucose levels. According to available information about hoodia gordonii, it affects the nerve cells in the hypothalamus which monitor blood glucose levels and works by making the brain think that blood glucose levels have increased. This basically turns off the hunger mechanism. One may wonder about the effectiveness of combining a product which may lower blood glucose levels, with a product that suppresses hunger by mimicking an increase in blood glucose levels.

In any case, diabetes should also take caution when using any hoodia products, because the suppression of hunger may cause a prolonged drop in blood glucose without the diabetic being aware, presenting a potentially dangerous situation.

If you are interested in a hoodia with green tea product, Hoodia Grdonii plus also contains both. Hoodia Gordonii Plus also contains other ingredients, some of which are stimulants, which do not affect everyone favorably, so you should make yourself aware of all the ingredients before trying this product. A complete article about the different ingredients in hoodia gordonii plus, along with many other hoodia products, may be viewed at our blog.

If you want to go the liquid hoodia route, make sure to store it in the refrigerator when not in use and care should be taken to avoid touching the dropper against the tongue, mouth or any other surface to avoid bacteria growth.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

John A Stevens asked:

Obesity is one of the main causes for the various health problems suffered by people the world over. It has been found that nearly half the population worldwide is overweight or obese. Combating weight gain has become a major concern for doctors and laymen alike. This situation has risen out of sedentary working conditions and bad food habits followed by most of us. Obviously a comprehensive change in lifestyle is much needed to overcome this gargantuan problem. The hoodia diet is a fast, easy and safe way out till necessary changes in lifestyle is made.

Hoodia is a succulent flowering plant found only in the Kalahari Desert in southern Africa. It is also known as xhooba, !khoba, Ghaap, hoodia cactus and South African desert cactus. The plant grows in clumps of green upright stems with spines and looks very similar to cactus. The San Bushmen of the South Kalahari Desert have been using this plant to suppress hunger and thirst while going on long hunts for centuries. It is also used by them as medicine for various ailments.
The plant grows wild only in the remote desert areas of South Africa, Namibia and Botswana and is now considered to be an endangered species. It takes around 5 years to mature and flower. Since it needs very hot and arid desert like conditions to grow, it is very difficult to cultivate it commercially.

There are nearly 20 types of hoodia of which only the species hoodia gordonii has appetite suppressing properties. Clinical research has identified a molecule named P57, found only in the species hoodia gordonii, as the ingredient that suppresses hunger and thirst. The P57 molecule tricks the brain into believing that the stomach is full by mimicking the effect of glucose on the nerve cells in the brain. It removes hunger pangs helps to combat your desire to overeat and thus you don’t feel deprived or crave for food. It even makes you stop thinking of food. It also acts as a mood enhancer making you feel good. It contains many nutrients making it a good tonic too.

Hoodia works quickly or slowly depending on person to person. It may work as fast as in 30 minutes or may take even as long as 20 days.

Hoodia has been found to be safe during clinical research. Trials done on animals have It is a natural, organically grown herb, having no dangerous stimulants. There is no danger of the side effects associated with other weight reducing drugs. It works by suppressing hunger thus promoting weight loss. Just remember to drink enough water since it also suppresses thirst. The South Kalahari Bushmen has been safely using it for generations.

Hoodia works only as an appetite suppressant. Regular exercise and a healthy diet plan are very necessary for getting the desired result.

Today, hoodia is heavily marketed all over the world in the form of pills, powders and in liquid form as the new miracle diet supplement. Many drug companies are selling hoodia online. Check for certification to ensure it is the genuine article.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

Patsy Hamilton asked:

Until now, most appetite suppressants contained caffeine or some other stimulant. Hoodia gordonii is not believed to have any stimulating affects, but blended products may. As the name indicates hoodia gordoniplus contains hoodia plus other active ingredients. These other ingredients are included to increase the effectiveness of the product. However, the inclusion of green tea extract will mean that a small amount of caffeine is present and could cause unwanted side effects in persons sensitive to caffeine. For instance, migraine sufferers are often instructed to avoid products containing caffeine. Hoodia XR, on the other hand, contains nothing except hoodia and the ingredients used to make the capsule.

It is difficult to compare the amount of hoodia gordonii in the two products. They use different manufacturing methods. Hoodia gordoniplus uses a concentrated form of hoodia. Concentrates are generally believed to be more potent sources of key ingredients. The package indicates that the hoodia gordonii content in hoodia gordoniplus is 400mg in a 10:1 ratio, which means that 10 grams of whole plant are used to create one gram of concentrate. Hoodia XR contains 1000mg of hoodia gordonii in powdered form, meaning that the entire plant is ground into a powder. There is no standard dosage for hoodia gordonii. Some persons need to use more than others to achieve desired results. Most companies recommend that the product should be taken one hour before meals or three times per day, but this is too strong for some people. It is not recommended that the appetite be entirely suppressed. No one recommends fasting.

Hoodia gordoniplus is currently selling for $39.95 for a one month supply. Many companies report that they expect prices to increase as supplies dwindle. It takes several years of growth before hoodia gordonii is ready for harvesting and the increasing demand for the product has reduced the current supply. Hoodia XR is currently selling for $49.95. Both companies offer discounts for purchases of multiple bottles and Hoodia XR currently offers free shipping via Federal Express for orders of two or more bottles.

Both hoodia gordoniplus and Hoodia XR offer a 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee, but remember that thirty days is from the date of order, not receipt. Hoodia XR recommends that you use the product as directed for a full ten days, before making a decision. Some people experience a decrease in appetite after the first dose. Others do not experience effects for a week or more. Whether you choose hoodia gordoniplus, Hoodia XR or some other hoodia product, you should check with your doctor, be in reasonably good health and drink plenty of water, since hoodia can suppress thirst, as well as hunger.

For more information about hoodia gordoniplus or hoodia XR, visit the Hoodia Info Blog.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

Patsy Hamilton asked:

People have asked us where to buy hoodia pills in USA stores. Major retail giants like GNC offer some hoodia supplements, but hoodia gordonii does not grow in the United States, so all genuine hoodia gordonii is imported from Africa.

The major concern in buying hoodia gordonii from any supplement company is quality. If a hoodia gordonii USA product is not genuine hoodia gordonii then the appetite will not be suppressed. Dissatisfied customers have reported problems with some hoodia products. Sometimes, another hoodia product allows them to achieve their goals. Anyone who has access to the internet can investigate a product before they buy it. Perhaps the best answer to where to buy hoodia pills in USA stores is to investigate the product, before you buy it.

Hoodia Gordonii USA

DexL 10 is a product sold by GNC that, according to the label, supplies 500mg of hoodia gordonii. According to the company, their product has been analyzed by independent laboratories and is genuine hoodia gordonii. However a sample evaluated by Alkemists Pharmaceuticals for Hoodia gordonii.co.za, a South African non-profit company interested in providing accurate information about hoodia supplements, showed a near zero trace of hoodia gordonii and they could not confirm the presence of the p57 molecule in the tested sample. P57 is believed to be the active molecule in hoodia gordonii according to the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in South Africa. The CSIR was the first to report that hoodia gordonii caused weight loss in lab animals, but not due to any apparent toxic effect. Perhaps, the question should be; where can we buy genuine hoodia gordonii USA products. And the best answer to this question may be the internet.

The other products sold by GNC are hoodia herb combos. There have been no studies into the effectiveness or safety of combining hoodia gordonii with other botanicals. Most hoodia herb combos contain stimulants and stimulants can cause a variety of unwanted side effects. People looking for natural genuine hoodia gordonii USA products may need to buy them from the internet. Desert Burn does have one outlet in New Jersey. Desert Burn is an American based company and their hoodia gordonii has been authenticated by several independent laboratories including Alkemists Pharmaceuticals for Hoodia gordonii.co.za.

The other consideration about where to buy hoodia pills in USA stores is dosage. While there is no accepted standard dosage to achieve appetite suppression from hoodia gordonii, must people report that it takes about 3000mg per day. This means that if a product contains only 500mg per capsule and the average bottle contains 30 capsules, then one must buy two bottles per month. This can be expensive, since even the least expensive products cost about $40 per bottle. Another American based company, Hoodia XR sells a 1000mg tablet, which costs $49.95 for a bottle of 90 capsules. This is a true thirty day supply. Hoodia XR displays CITES permits and analysis reports from IBC labs on their website. Maybe the best hoodia gordonii USA products are sold only on the internet.

For more information about hoodia gordonii USA products, visit the Hoodia Info Blog.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

Faviano Torres asked:

Have you entertained the idea that you could lose weight by just chewing a gum? Strange weight- loss aids, supplements and products have been around for many years. The range, types and functions of these products just show how creative manufacturers are, but so far, nothing has raised the bar like hoodia gum.

Hoodia gordinii products had already made a mark in the weight-loss industry, they are among the most popular appetite suppressants in the market. A new addition to the long list of these products are the chewing gums, which is a breakthrough product that promises to help consumers lose considerable weight by acting on the appetite-governing part of the brain–the hypothalamus.

It should be noted that the said plant has long been considered an effective appetite suppressant. It works by tricking the brain into believing that it is full by mimicking the sensation of satiety after a huge meal. Once the brain is overflowing with the effects of this plant, it will curb the appetite of the consumer, thus limiting the urge to eat.

This gum is an all-natural product. Since the active ingredient is the hoodia extract, it will work in the same manner as all the others work. However, it offers benefits that other products cannot deliver.

What sets it different from pills and supplements is its capacity to deliver the effects of the product directly to the bloodstream. This is because the product does not need to travel through the digestive system, instead, the extracts of the hoodia gordonii plant is absorbed directly in the mouth and then sent to the bloodstream, thanks to the high absorption rate of the ingredient.

The convenience and fun of chewing a gum as well as the fast delivery of effects aside, this product is among the “in” stuffs these days due to the sheer simplicity of the idea. It is like replacing actual food with one that does not contain calorie at all while making the consumer feel satisfied and full. Now that’s something that will be a household name soon.

Fit Yummy Mummy!
