Deburring Machines

QuickWood is the manufacture of a few different deburring machines, the one that most customers has used for deburring metal parts in an automatic fashion is the Classic 1300 Vac. As the video below will show you this machine is very fast at deburring and making an radius to the edge. The machine is made up of 9 discs heads that each carry 12 slots of our deburring brush. This deburring brush will use the pressure of the brush to sand with regular sandpaper a burr off the edge or off a cut out in your metal part. This machine will work on stainless steel and aluminum parts.

As you can see in the video, the parts as small as credit card size can be suck down by the vaccum system that are in the belt and held in place while running through the machine. The parts will go in with sharp edges and burrs on the edges and come out clean with a breaken or radius edge. The amount of edge break that a client want can be adjusted by the RPM of the discs so the more RPM’s the bigger the edge break.

The QuickWood deburring brush as shown in this video, is a Mexico fiber brush with an aluminum oxide or silicon carbide abrasive in front of it. The brush is working to back the sandpaper up, still being flexible to deburr a radius or cut out hole in a metal plate but still firm enough to break or radius and edge. The deburring brush is working in metal finishing where a wide belt cannot as the brush can go below the edges that needs deburring and clean out below the surface burrs.

AWFS Las Vegas Woodworking Show

QuickWood, like many other woodworking machinery suppliers has chosen not to participate in this year’s AWFS woodworking show in Las Vegas, NV. This decision is based on current economic situation and in particular the current pressure on the woodworking industry. We have opted to save the cost of attending this years show in an effort to help our customers instead and give them excellent machine purchasing opportunities. This will help our customers automate and begin the process of increased profit margins with better bottom lines. The QuickWood Finish Sanders are often called the Final Sanding Machine as it’s the last machine your doors or moldings will go though before stain and sealer. QuickWood offer many different machines from Molding sanders to door sanders and everything in between. Most of the QuickWood machines can be used for the final sand before stain and sealer and for sealer sanding. Some machines even offer double sided brushes where you can put one grit sanding in one direction and another grit sanding in the opposite direction. The QuickWood finishing sander is used for a final sand before the wood is ready for stain and sealer. The finishing sander is used to sand wood with a profile so that all areas of the material will be sanded exactly the same. This assures uniformity is grain opening. Since normal belts cannot do this job QuickWood has developed a special brush/abrasive combination that is flexible enough to go into the profile and sand in a deeply recessed area. The maximum flex of a brush sanding machine is approximately 1 and ½ inches or almost 150mm. This will work on most all cabinet doors, mouldings,door fronts and other 3 diamentional pieces.

Using the QuickWood brush abrasive system offers the following benefit to wood products before stain and sealer is applied:

* Even Sanding to guarantee consistent pore opening which will eliminate blotchy stain color

* Uniform edge break (slight rounding) of sharp edges and corners to eliminate weak areas in the finish where stain and sealer will not adhere.

*Removing of loose fibers in the surface of the wood both in the profile and on the top surfaces. This will reduce the consumption of sealer that has to be applied as the wood fibers will not absorb the sealer. Also removing the fibers before stain and sealer reduces the fiber pop or roughness that is felt on the surface after the sealer has dried. This will make sealer sanding much easier and make for a better finish.

*Color consistency piece after piece. Most people know that hand sanding is inconsistent at best. Utilizing a machine to sand the door with even pressure gives the work piece uniformity in color as each area of each piece of material is sanded exactly the same.
