¡Feliz mes de la Herencia Hispana! | Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!

From September 15 - October 15, time is taken to appreciate and honor the contributions of Hispanic and Latinx Americans to the culture, history and heritage of the United States. Originally started as “Hispanic Heritage Week” under President Lyndon Johnson, President Ronald Reagan expanded the week to cover a 30-day period and it was enacted into law on August 17, 1988.

This is also a significant month for many Latin American countries. September 16th is dia de la independencia for México, and Centroamerica celebrates independencia on the 15th of September.

Latinx influences in pop culture can be seen in a variety of ways. In the music industry, for example, artists like Luis Fonsi are breaking billboard music records while artists such as J Balvin, Bad Bunny and Prince Royce continue to top the charts with reggaeton and bachata hits as well.

Quizlet's 2019 Diversity and Inclusion Report

At Quizlet, we believe investing in a diverse workforce creates a strong and innovative company and gives us a competitive advantage. This year is Quizlet’s third year setting company-wide goals for diversity and inclusion. One way we hold ourselves accountable for execution on these goals is by publishing an update each year on our strategy and our results. Even though Quizlet only employs a small fraction of the U.S. workforce, I believe we can multiply our impact by showing leadership and encouraging other companies to make their own investments in building diverse and inclusive workforces.

Our strategy has been to focus in three primary areas:

First, creating milestones and holding ourselves accountable for progress. Without goals and measurement, it’s difficult to get results. In recent years it’s also become possible to benchmark Quizlet against other companies that have published their employee demographic data. We also believe that while building a diverse workforce is everyone’s job, accountability has to lie with executive leadership. That’s why, as our SVP of Engineering, I took responsibility for our focus area this year — women in engineering and technical roles.

Second, sourcing and recruiting a more diverse team. As I’ve mentioned to many leaders that have asked me how we’ve gotten results at Quizlet, it’s essential to reach out to a diverse pipeline of candidates and communities if you want to hire a diverse workforce. Accordingly, we have set goals related to diversity in recruiting. To improve hiring decisions and reduce bias, we have developed structured interview plans with clear scoring rubrics and trained interviewers in behavioral interviewing.

Part of building a diverse pipeline is looking outside of more traditional recruiting programs. We’re proud to be working with Path Forward for a second year, and this fall will be hosting mid-career paid “returnships” for professionals who have been out of the workforce for caregiving purposes. We’ve also partnered with Code2040 to help create access, awareness and opportunities for top Black and Latinx engineering talent to ensure their participation in tech.

Third, reinforcing our inclusive and supportive culture. It’s important to recognize that we are all subject to implicit biases. The impact of unconscious bias is not limited to recruiting and candidate assessment. It can affect performance and promotion decisions as well. We work hard to find and hire people for the team and we want to retain all of them and help them rise to their potential. To help the teams recognize their own biases and equip them with strategies to mitigate them, we’ve delivered periodic unconscious bias and inclusive leadership training. We’ve guided team leaders to ensure team-building events are inclusive. And we’ve supported grassroots committees and groups (like Women @ Quizlet) with budget and executive sponsors.

The numbers

This year, we prioritized women in technical roles as one of our top goals for diversity and inclusion. In a disappointing and regrettable trend, overall women’s participation in software development roles across industry has been trending down since the early 1990s in the U.S., flat at 18-20% since 2011.†

I’m proud to report that our efforts toward hiring and retaining women in tech has gotten results, increasing five percentage points to 33%, up from 28% last year (and 22% in 2017). And our new office in Denver is off to a good start, with 33% women in technical roles.

I’m especially happy that we’ve been able to include women at all levels of our technical organization. 40% of technical managers (of all levels) are women, and 33% of our technical leadership are women (director-level and above).

And looking at our company overall, Quizlet also reached 40% women in 2019, up from 35% when we started reporting numbers in 2017.

We believe that these efforts are not only critical for making Quizlet the best possible company and place to work, but can also help drive change throughout the industry as a whole. Though Quizlet is still relatively small (about 150 employees) we know that this crucial work cannot wait. While I’m pleased with our progress this year, there is obviously much more to be done. I’m looking forward to updating our goals and strategy for 2020.

How to use Quizlet classes like a pro

For teachers, the start of the school year is the perfect time to set up Quizlet classes. While folders are great for personal organization, classes help you curate Quizlet sets for specific groups of students.

Read on to learn more about getting started with classes and check out pro tips from Quizlet's Teacher Ambassador community.

Tip 1: Create a class — or as many as you need

If you haven’t already done so, follow these simple steps to set up your first class:

Log into Quizlet and click on “Create a class” on the sidebar

Enter the name of your class and an optional description

Enter the name of your school. We’ll also save this choice for any future classes you create.

Click “Create class”

With a free Quizlet account, you can create up to eight classes that you can reuse year after year. If you need more flexibility, upgrade to Quizlet Teacher so you can create an unlimited number of classes.

Tip 2: Have students join your class

Once you’ve created your class, invite your students to join. While not required, having students become members of your Quizlet class means that they’ll have easier, more independent access to your material throughout the school year, whether logged into the website or the Quizlet app.

Class members will also be notified by email and on the site when you add new sets to the class, helping them know exactly what and when to study.

Additionally, if you'd like to keep your sets private to your students, you can make them visible to class members only.

Tip 3: Share the class join link

The easiest way for students to become members of your Quizlet class is by following the join link. You’ll find this unique link on each of your class pages.

Share this link with your students by:

Pasting it into an email to your students

Adding it to your class website or LMS

Customizing our Getting Started handout for students or for parents

When students follow the class join link, they’ll be sent to your class and prompted to log into their Quizlet account or sign up if they don’t have one yet. Then they’ll click the “Join Class” button to be added.

Tip 4: Give clear instructions for usernames

If students are signing up for Quizlet for the first time, direct them to create usernames that are easy for you to identify. For example, “lastname_studentID.” If you’re using our Getting Started handout, you can include these instructions here:

Or, if some of your incoming students already have Quizlet accounts, take the advice of this Teacher Ambassador and keep a backup spreadsheet:

Tip 5: Connect with Google Classroom

If you’re using Google Classroom, connect it with your Quizlet class so that you can easily share relevant sets and create assignments. You can also send invites to your Quizlet class using your Google Classroom rosters. Learn more here.

Tip 6: Foster class collaboration

Want to get your students more involved? Choose to “Allow your students to add study sets” when setting up or editing your class.

Or, add another class admin to help curate sets during the year — either a co-teacher, a parent or a rotation of students (for extra credit!).

Tip 7: Use QR codes

In some cases, it may not make sense to have students create their own Quizlet accounts — but you can still give them easy access to helpful study material via your Quizlet class. A great idea from Teacher Ambassador, Michael Snead: create a custom QR code using the link to your class and post it in your classroom.

Tip 8: Track student progress

Setting up classes, adding your sets and having your students join allows you to track their individual study activity and progress — so you can keep students more accountable, reward strong study habits, and understand which material still needs more review.

Start tracking Class Progress by enrolling in a free trial of Quizlet Teacher.

Have more tips for using Quizlet classes?

Share them in the comments below (log in to Quizlet first, if you're not seeing that option). And have a wonderful start to the school year!

Quizlet hacks I wish I had known last semester

Quizlet can be really intuitive and easy to use. Still, even though I’ve been using Quizlet since 2011, there were some features and tricks I wasn’t aware of until I started interning at Quizlet — things I wish I had known earlier for my college classes.

Here are some Quizlet features, tricks, and tips I could have really used last semester:

Micromatch

This trick is a fun little secret I found out during my first week at Quizlet. Essentially, when playing Match on Quizlet, you can reorganize the layout of the cards by changing the end of the URL from match to micromatch, like so:

This puts the cards into a nice grid. Rather than dragging each term to its matching definition to win the game, you just click on the two matching cards instead.

The original Match interface compared to the Micromatch interface.

While it’s fun to drag cards around in Match, it can be easier to play Micromatch when you have cards with more information on them. Still, both versions are fun ways to study.

Diagrams

When I first started using Quizlet way back in 2011, they didn’t have diagrams — you could only add pictures to cards. I had no idea Quizlet added diagrams and that I could make one until I explored Quizlet more deeply as an intern. While you do need Quizlet Plus to add more than 8 labels to a single diagram, anyone can upload an image and make a diagram set. Diagrams are images that you can label with points and then study using Learn, Write, Test, and Match. You can even blur parts of the image, so no worries if your picture already has labels.

Just click on the pencil icon in the top right corner to access the blur tool.

Diagrams are perfect for memorizing maps and anatomy—had I known about this feature, I would have definitely made brain diagrams (like this diagram of important brain structures) for my psychology class. It’s nice to be able to use Quizlet’s different study modes while studying, instead of just staring at diagrams and hoping you’ll memorize it.

Check out some of Quizlet’s cool diagrams here.

Parentheses

In Quizlet, you don’t have to type whatever is in parentheses to get the term correct. This can be helpful in many situations, such as when you have a term with multiple meanings. Let’s say you need to know the Spanish word muñeca for your Spanish class. Muñeca means both wrist and doll, but your teacher wants you to know “wrist” for your next vocabulary quiz. If you put the definition of muñeca as “wrist (doll)” in your Quizlet set, you can type either “wrist” or “wrist doll” to get the term correct.

I like to use parentheses when I want to include extra information in a term’s definition, but also not be tested on that specific information. For example, when I was in a marine biology class, I had to memorize the scientific names of tide pool creatures. For each tide pool creature, I put the scientific name on the term side. On the definition side, I wrote its common name and then a description of its appearance in parentheses — so I didn’t have to write the whole description of each tide pool creature while studying, but the information was there if I needed it.

An example of how I use parentheses in Quizlet.

Math / Symbol Language

As a psychology major, I haven’t had to take math since my first year in college. But I made many Quizlet sets to study math formulas in high school—and boy were those sets ugly. Take a look at my attempt to memorize some trigonometry formulas circa 2015:

Yeah, these formulas were definitely not pretty or easy to study back then. However, to make studying math formulas easier, Quizlet added “Math / Symbol” as a language. Just click on “Choose Language” and select “Math / Symbols.” Now, when you type, there are a bunch of common math symbols to choose from.

With the language as Math / Symbols, my previously ugly formulas can now look like this:

What’s also great about the Math / Symbols language is that Quizlet keeps track of the symbols you use and prompts you to use them in the study modes, like Write. That way, you don’t have to worry about reproducing the correct symbol while studying.

Did you already know about all of these features/tricks? Do you have any other Quizlet tips that make studying easier or more fun? Let me know in the comments.

Four step plan to ace the TEAS - Nursing prep (Part 2)

This guest post was written by Kate Raiford, founder of Prenursing Smarter. She has been helping busy college students study smarter for more than 7 years using resources from her own website and her premium TEAS study guides on Quizlet. She taught at San Diego colleges before creating her online TEAS prep program, Prenursing Smarter, in 2017.

This post is Part 2 of a two part series on better nursing prep. Read Part 1.

Yesterday we looked at the first two steps of smarter TEAS prep: 1) Learn and 2) Apply. Today I’ll walk you through steps three and four.

Step 3: Memorize

Sometimes, you just need to cram information into your brain! For the TEAS, you’ll have very specific topics to memorize. Memorization will help you on test day in few ways.

First, memorizing specific concepts will help you with quick wins. Some question topics appear on almost every version of the test. Your goal is to memorize so that you can select correct answers quickly in order to buy yourself time for those trickier questions.

Memorizing also helps you because the TEAS will test your ability to apply certain steps and processes, so you need to know these inside and out. Here are few things that are great for memorizing for the TEAS…

Path of food through the gastrointestinal system

Traits of each column of the periodic table of elements

Formulas for velocity, average, and the area of a triangle

Prefixes of the metric system and their values

In general, memorization is great when you need to match terms with definitions, work with specific formulas or follow steps in a sequence.

To help you memorize effectively, you want to memorize regularly and for short bursts. Tools that work great for memory include…

Audio reviews that you can play over and over again

Writing terms/definitions, pathways, or formulas out at least 10x each

Quizlet flashcard drills—of course!

Experiment to find a memory tool that works best for you. For example, I need to say things out loud several times and write them out in order to memorize.

Step 4: Strategy

This step is probably the most fun step because it’s all about finding time-saving tips and using the test structure to your advantage.

The TEAS is a standardized test, which means its been designed and engineered. Every test taker is scored on the same general topics. If you get clear on what those topics are, you’ll be better prepared.

And, since the TEAS is a multiple-choice test, the answer is somewhere on your page or computer screen.

Specific strategy for specific question times is best learned through a test prep expert, but you can apply an important study strategy today. An often overlooked TEAS prep strategy is how you set yourself up for success with your TEAS prep.

So many students prep for the TEAS while being full-time students, parenting small children, or balancing work. You’ll likely need to study about 3 to 4 months, and one great study strategy is to be kind to yourself.

When you treat yourself well during your TEAS prep, you’ll be more likely to stick with it. You’ll be in a better mood when it’s time to study, which will help you learn the material so that it actually sticks.

Think of treats you can give yourself while you study. Maybe you buy some new colorful pens, drink your favorite tea whenever you study, or form a study group.

And keep in mind that studying it gets hard or frustrating, it’s not you: it’s the test. Find resources and people who you can trust with your questions and do your best to stay on track.

To recap, here’s how each of these 4 steps might look like in practice:

Select video or text lessons on a key TEAS concept

Devote 30 to 45 minutes to absorbing and note taking → learn

After the lecture, take practice questions on the topic → apply

Then, highlight emphasized TEAS terms/steps/processes and put them on flashcards → memorize

Take a practice test and practice using the answer options to your advantage → apply + strategy

Once you’re done, give yourself a treat, like a piece of chocolate or an episode of your favorite show → strategy

Keep going, do a little bit everyday, and be kind to yourself as you prep for the TEAS. By the time you are ready for the TEAS, you’ve already worked so hard. You got this!

Start applying your knowledge today

Each PrenursingSmarterPro Quizlet study guide contains 30-60 multiple choice practice questions. You may know Quizlet for flashcards, but these practice questions are designed to give you a more similar experience to the TEAS test. You’ll also get access to well over 100 terms and definitions per study guide.

Four step plan to ace the TEAS - Nursing prep (Part 1)

This guest post was written by Kate Raiford, founder of Prenursing Smarter.

If you are on your way to nursing school or the next step in your allied health career, you’ll likely need a good score on the TEAS. For many students, this test is the last step before applying to their dream schools, and your score can make or break admission.

The TEAS is a standardized test with four sections: Reading, Math, Science, and English. The test is used across the country by many nursing and allied health programs.

After working with hundreds of students during their TEAS prep, I’ve developed a 4-part framework that can help you can stay on track, feel confident on test day, and get a higher score.

It looks like this: Learn → Apply → Memorize → Strategize

You can use this framework for each section of the TEAS, so let’s talk about how you can make it work for you.

Step 1: Learn

In order to get a higher TEAS score, you might need to re-learn some material. The TEAS might test you on things that you learned as far back as 7th grade, so it’s totally normal to need a refresh.

Learning will look different for everyone. For example, maybe you got all As in your anatomy and physiology pre-reqs, but it’s been years since you’ve done math word problems.

Learning means giving yourself the time and the right materials. When you focus on learning, you’ll want to select material that helps you really dive in and connect the dots. This might mean using...

Notes from your college classes

Review courses that teach you what you need to know

Tutors at your college’s academic success center

This step often feels the most uncomfortable, so find supportive study tools. You are going to be tackling topics that you don’t know. It’s totally normal to feel a little confused or overwhelmed at this stage.

You can start today by making a list of the top 5 topics you’d like the most help with. Then, find in-depth sources that can guide you as you focus on learning the material. Quizlet is a great place to start!

Step 2: Apply

Applying is all about practice questions (not practice tests!). When you begin studying, you can take one practice test to help you identify what you need to learn, but try not to rely on practice tests that cover everything all at once. Instead, use shorter quizzes that focus on specific topics. Check out the four study guides I created on Quizlet!

When you are in the apply stage of your TEAS prep, try to do about 10 to 20 questions at a time. These should be short bursts to practice your recall and identify any gaps in your learning.

You’ll probably be bouncing between learning and applying in your early stages of TEAS prep. This will give you feedback on how well you’re learning the material and give you an opportunity to reinforce your recall.

Stay tuned for Nursing prep (Part 2) to get the details on steps 3 and 4 tomorrow.

The Limmers: experts in all things EMS

The Limmers are experts on all things EMS. Dan Limmer is the author of major EMS textbooks like Emergency Care, EMR Complete, and EMPACT. He and his wife Stephanie founded Limmer Education in 2009 to help students succeed on their EMS tests using high-quality, clinically accurate, and educationally sound content and tools.

Since it’s National EMS week, they shared with us the most important things to know as you prepare to take your national registry certification exam, the NREMT.

There are 5 sections in the NREMT exam

Airway, Ventilation and Respiration – this covers material beginning with the first assessment of the airway, through opening and maintaining the airway to oxygenation and ventilation.

Cardiology and Resuscitation – this covers CPR, defibrillation and the application of running a “code” in the field. The NREMT focuses heavily on the American Heart Association guidelines in this section.

Medical Emergencies and OB – this is the biggest content area on the NREMT and covers a wide range of emergencies. The obstetrics questions are often considered the most challenging since only a small portion of the EMT class is dedicated to this important topic.

Trauma Emergencies – This section covers bleeding and shock as well as injuries to all parts of the body from the head to the neck, chest, abdomen, spine and extremities.

Operations – the easiest way to describe this is to say that it is everything that is not covered in the first four sections. This usually includes the front and back sections of the EMT book.

Plus the final category is Pediatrics, which isn’t a section in itself. However, ten to fifteen percent of all sections (except operations) contains questions on pediatric patients.

What to know about the format of the exam

The NREMT exam is computer adaptive. This means the exam will measure your knowledge by increasing the difficulty level of questions as you progress and get items correct, until you begin to get questions wrong. The exam also uses a “best answer” format. It is written with many choices being possible but only one is clearly correct. This is different from most in-class exams in an EMT course.

Many students complain that the exam uses words or terminology that they aren’t familiar with. LimmerEducation made their first Quizlet study guide on Medical Terminology which helps that issue directly. Learning prefixes, suffixes, roots and specific terms through the flashcards in the study guide and testing yourself with the exams helps students break down words and improve understanding—not just on the exam but also for everyday in EMS.

The Medical Terminology study guide is a great way to get started mastering the medical terms so that when you do practice tests, like the ones included in the Quizlet study guide, you feel really confident.

On finding the motivation to study well

Being an EMT is rewarding because it is different. While there are certainly routine calls, the people you meet and the occasional unpredictability is what many people like about EMS. It’s not your average desk job! It may sound a bit corny, but if you are becoming an EMT to help people, you will not be disappointed.

See all EMS study guides and use code EMSWEEK to get 40% of study guides through Sunday!

In the coming weeks LimmerEducation will be adding more EMS flashcards, practice questions, and study guides to Quizlet that will help students prepare for the NREMT and other certification exams. Stay tuned!

Q&A with EMS content creator Tim Nowak

This week Caroline from the Marketing team chatted with Tim Nowak and got some insights into the EMS world. Check out what he had to say below!

Tim has been in the EMS industry for 15 years and has been an EMS educator throughout his tenure. He writes and distributes a printed journal called the EMS Director in addition to serving as a columnist for EMS1.com. He is also a training instructor for Medi Credits which provides CAPCE credits for continuing education and recertification. He is also building high quality study guides on Quizlet.

When you take the NREMT for the first time, there is a ton of material you need to master, which is why Quizlet teamed up with Tim to help provide better study materials to make sure you can ace the test on the first try.

Tim: The study guide I created on Quizlet is on Airway Management, one of the key areas covered on the NREMT. I broke it into three sections. One section was specific to all the vocab terms, and then I provided 35+ questions that are more scenario based, like you’d find on the NREMT.

Caroline: Why do you think EMT students should use Quizlet? What’s good about it for EMTs?

Tim: One of the things that attracted me was when I started asking around about it, I talked to some newer EMTs who were students, and they said, “I’ve been using Quizlet for 3 years.” It’s great if they’re already familiar with it and like using it as a study tool from high school or college. It’s a natural progression to want to use it then for EMS test prep, but the other thing I really love about it is being able to use it on your phone or mobile device. This is something you can pick up and do wherever.

Caroline: What myths are out there about the NREMT?

Tim: People get hung up on the testing style. There’s often more than one “right” answer but you have to pick the best one. They throw very viable distractors at you. It’s important to reason down your answer options until you get down to two that are probable. Then think through what order or priority makes the most sense. When people don’t learn in school how to test in that style or if they rely on 15-year-old test questions, they’ll be in for a challenge. That’s why it’s so important to prepare with scenario-based practice questions like you get on the test. When I wrote the answers to many of the questions in the Airway Management Quizlet study guide, I added in descriptors to help remind you to reason. Things like, “which is the next or most appropriate response.” That can help you figure out what the grey answer is.

Caroline: What advice would you give to someone studying for the national exam for the first time?

Tim: Pay attention in school and do a good job studying and reviewing. It’s not a trick. You just need to know your stuff. That’s where study guides on Quizlet can help! But if you do find yourself stuck on a question while you’re taking the exam, you’re best off if you go with your gut, it’s probably pointing you in the right direction.

Caroline: How do you stay inspired to keep learning?

Tim: It’s so important to stay up to date in EMS since things are changing all the time. I get inspired by looking at trade journals online to keep up with the news that’s happening. I go to conferences, especially outside of my agency or zip code. It really helps to get a different perspective by being curious.

Caroline: What is at the cutting edge of EMS lately? What is there to look forward to?

Tim: Well there’s some different newer technologies, things like prehospital ultra-sound and mechanical compression devices (not new but expanding in prevalence). On the administrative side of things, there are some advancements that will ultimately help EMTs provide better and more efficient care. Things like the Medicare, Medicaid, ET-3 model. Because up until recently Medicare only pays if you transport someone to the hospital. Now to be more efficient with resources you might bring them to primary care or send a PA or a nurse practitioner to your house and they’re paying for that. There’s also advancements happening in health data exchange, making medical records more useful all around.

Caroline:Is there anything else we should know about your new EMS study guide?

Tim: The Airway Management | EMT Guide was designed for EMTs. It’s modeled after the standard national curriculum. I’m very excited to be partnering with Quizlet and so you can expect more study guides covering other sections of the NREMT soon. I’m also looking forward to expanding to the paramedic level.

Take advantage of the EMS week discount! You can get 40% off of my study guide and others like it with code EMSWEEK until Sunday at 11:59pm.

Apply Your Learning with Premium Practice Questions!

Last December we introduced Premium Content on Quizlet: expert created study-guides to help users prepare for exams.

But students told us they wanted more. More ways to practice for tests exactly like they’re going to find when they sit down on exam day. More tough questions to help mimic the tough questions their teachers or classes would throw at them.

Introducing practice questions — available on select Quizlet Premium Content study guides. Practice questions take studying to a deeper level and require learners to go beyond memorization. Instead, students can demonstrate mastery of the concepts they’ve studied by applying their knowledge to multiple-choice questions designed by Verified Creators to test their knowledge.

Our 21 Verified Creators to release premium practice questions are: KnopmanMarks, Kenhub,FitnessMentors, FUNctionalAnatPhysio, Media4Math, BA_Learn_IT, ASBITE-Executioner, LuminaTestPrep, SeñorTaylor2, Babbel, scottmooredo, OrganicChemistryExplained, Novacademy, ProfessuerAdams, TomatoLearning, TheKindestSchool, DATbootcamp, Kaplan_NCLEX, QStudyChallenges4U, Knowsys, and DriversEdTestPrep.

We've spotlighted 4 of those creators below. Verified Creators — Lumina Test Prep, Kenhub, Knopman Marks, and Babbel — have developed practice questions to help students apply their knowledge of biology, human anatomy, financial markets and the Spanish language.

LuminaTestprep
LuminaTestPrep is a project of Lumina Datamatics, a content creation company with deep domain expertise and hundreds of thousands of practice questions.. Their Biology practice question offering is extensive and will continue to grow in the coming weeks. Check out their study set on Cell Structure and Functions for a glimpse at the detail and depth LuminaTestPrep can offer your studying.

Kenhub
Our partners at Kenhub help students learn human anatomy faster and smarter. With so many muscles, bones, nerves, and joints in the human body, it can be difficult to master and apply all the terminology. Practice questions are available on many Kenhub study guides including Oral Cavity Practice Questions, Ankle and Foot Practice Questions and Pancreas Practice Questions.

The content creators at Knopman Marks have 25 years of experience supporting 100,000 students in passing various FINRA and licensing examinations. Students preparing for the Security Industries Essentials (SIE) Exam can test their knowledge with practice questions designed to asses, just like the real test does.

Babbel
The language learning app and e-learning platform Babbel offers Quizlet Premium Content for the Spanish language. Students can practice learning vocabulary words, commonly used verbs, and prepare for the AP Spanish Language exam.
