On Monday April 16th 2012 at 8:30am there will be a group of concerned parents and community members at the corner of Queen's Quay and Bathurst in Toronto, holding up a banner on the green light of the intersection to ensure the safe crossing of their children to Waterfront School. As Airport related traffic continues to increase, this action to ensure safety of the children may well continue in mornings through this week while discussions continue.

#165 ~ Su Hart of 'Baka Beyond'

Su Hart of Baka Beyond was a guest speaker in October 2009 at a fundraiser for Grandmothers to Grandmothers in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. During her visit in their community, Su was part of workshops organized by Letz Sing Choir. Being familiar with Baka Beyond since the mid 1990's, Lynn Thompson welcomed the opportunity to meet up with Su Hart two days later in Nanaimo during Su's train ride to Victoria (the segment is framed by train sounds as the train arrives and departs the Nanaimo train station).

Su Hart and her husband Martin Cradick made their first recordings with the Baka in 1992. Most recently they have released a new CD titled 'Baka Beyond the Forest'. Yelli is still sung to enchant animals by Pygmy women in the rainforests of Africa.
