What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an easy way to keep updated on the news that’s of interest to you. Instead of having to go to websites to see if there’s a new story or feature, you can use RSS to tell you every time the news you want is updated.

How can I use RSS?

To use RSS, you need to get hold of an application called a news reader. There are many, from freeware to shareware to choose from. These readers display RSS information feeds from your chosen websites on your computer. All you have to do to get set up is to select an RSS feed from the list below.

RSS TERMS OF USE

RSS (really simple syndication) service is a means by which Racer Media & Marketing, Inc., a California Corporation (“RACER,” “us,” “we,” “our,”) offers RSS feeds of story headlines (“RSS Content”) to visitors of RACER.com (our “Website”) (the “Service”). These RSS Terms of Use in conjunction with RACER’s Terms and Conditions govern your use of the RSS Service, and the Terms and Conditions are hereby incorporated by reference.  These RSS Terms of Use and the RACER Terms and Conditions may be changed by RACER at any time without notice.

Use of RSS Feeds:

RSS is a free service offered by RACER. We grant you a limited, revocable license to use the RSS Service on your website for non-commercial use only. The RSS Service may be used only with those platforms and newsreaders from which a functional link is made available that, when accessed, takes the viewer directly to the display of the full article on our Website.

You must use the RSS Service as provided by us. Any other uses, including without limitation the incorporation of advertising into or the placement of advertising associated with or targeted towards the RSS Content, are strictly prohibited. You must use the RSS Service as provided by RACER. Specifically, you may not (a) edit, modify, alter, or create derivative works of the text, content or links supplied by us, (b) use any robot, spider, other device or manual process to monitor or copy any content from the RSS Service, (c) sell, retransmit or commercially exploit the RSS Service, headlines or content in any manner except as expressly permitted by us, or (d) use the RSS Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of the rights of others. We may include the author of each individual news story in the feed alongside each headline, which you may not alter. 

You may not use the RSS Service on a website, mobile application, or other similar media, that: (a) incites hatred whether based on race, religion, gender, sexuality or otherwise; or (b) promotes, encourages, or facilitates anti-social behavior, violence,  or illegal activity; or (c) contains material that is misleading, pornographic, defamatory, or illegal; or (e) infringes the rights of others including, but not limited to, individual privacy.

The RSS Service may be used only with those platforms from which a functional link is made available that, when accessed, takes the viewer directly to the display of the full article on our Website. You may not display the RSS Content in a manner that does not permit successful linking to, redirection to or delivery of the applicable RACER web page. You may not insert any intermediate page, splash page or other content between the RSS link and the applicable RACER web page.

You understand and agree that the RSS Content that is provided as part of the RSS Service may include footers to assure proper attribution for the content. RACER retains all ownership and other rights in the RSS Service and the RSS Content, and any and all RACER logos and trademarks used in connection with the RSS Service. You must provide attribution to RACER in connection with your use of the RSS feeds. If you provide this attribution using a graphic, you must use the RACER website logo.

RACER reserves the right to discontinue providing any or all of the RSS feeds at any time and to require you to cease displaying, distributing or otherwise using any or all of the RSS feeds for any reason including, without limitation, your violation of any provision of these RSS Terms of Use. RACER assumes no liability for any of your activities in connection with the RSS Service or for your use of the RSS Service in connection with your website, mobile application, or other media.

User Representation and Warranties: 

YOU AGREE THAT BY USING THE RSS SERVICE YOU REPRESENT THAT YOU ARE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD AND THAT YOU ARE LEGALLY ABLE TO ENTER INTO THIS AGREEMENT. You agree to transact with us and to acknowledge your agreement to these RSS Terms of Use electronically.

YOU ARE USING THE RSS SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK. We provide the RSS Service “AS IS,” without warranties, either express or implied, and with all faults. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES THAT THE RSS SERVICE IS MERCHANTABLE, ACCURATE, NON-INFRINGING, OR FIT FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. We make no representation or guarantees that Service and its content will meet your requirements, be current or be available at all times and places.

You are solely responsible to make sure that your use of the RSS Service complies with applicable laws within your territory. We assume no liability for any of your activities in connection with the RSS Service or for your use of the RSS Service. IN CONSIDERATION FOR YOUR USE OF THE RSS SERVICE, YOU AGREE THAT TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM, AND YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO RECOVER FROM US, ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER RELATED TO THESE TERMS OF USE OR YOUR ACCESS AND USE OF THE RSS SERVICE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, CONSEQUENTIAL, LOST PROFITS, SPECIAL, INDIRECT OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
