All in a days work...

It is unbelievable to me that I have been on maternity leave for six months with my Little Shoes.

It has been the most difficult and most rewarding time of my life.

Never have I felt more complete now calling myself a Mother. I have learnt so much about how I work and about the world and gained such a serious dose of perspective after these last six months.

There are a few things, people, tricks of the trade and places that I could not have coped without over the past few months and I am going to tell you all about them.

For now, I am feeling radiantascanbe and am the proudest Mommy I can be.

Little Shoes

It is time for me to get back to giving back.

What better way to do this than to fire up radiantascanbe again.

I was prompted to begin with blogging about the baby shower my sister and I hosted for the what will soon be the newest addition to our growing family, our Little Shoes.

In true pregnancy style, I have been nesting, building and creating a home and space for the little one that is beautiful and comfortable for us all.

Today's post is to remind you to remember the child in you. The use of crayons, colour and glitter glue can really lift your spirits, even if only for the off occasion you may be hosting.

I handmade little paper shoes for the shower and filled them with Haribo Jelly babies. In South Africa you can find anything you get in the car and drive but London is a little more tricky. I have therefore concluded that there is nothing you cannot get on Amazon and all my glue pens, scissors and even 4kg box of Haribo Jelly Babies came from there.

Who says you don't have time when you can have all this on your doorstep by the time you get home from work!

My Mom always did watermelon baskets for us as kids and I want to give Little Shoes the same happy memories with my first attempt at the below. Thank you to my husband, Shoes, for cutting this according to pattern and Lala for all her hard work!

We were so proud of our table.

We also boiled 24 eggs and made #babyboiledeggs for the day. These went down like a house on fire.

Scoop out the egg white and mix with rock salt, black pepper and mayo. I ordered my little #googlyeyes on Amazon and they arrived in one day. (I swear by Amazon Prime).

Try a little creativity on for size, it is so rewarding and good for the soul!

Message in a Feather

I walked out the door yesterday head down and off to work. on our doorstep as if it had been hand delivered, was a beautiful and perfectly formed feather.

A feather is the reminder that your home and lives are being watched over by angels so look out for life's little signs.

Mindset

So much of what we set out to do day by day is driven by what we believe we can achieve.

You are amazing and unique and there is nothing you cannot do.

I am off to write an exam and have learnt this week that as soon as my mind was right, I was winning!

Adjust your dreams from future to present and start living in the now. By doing this you are willing the universe to bring your dream to you.

Let's get back up and cracking this year as I feel like I have blinked and it is March.

Someone really lovely just reminded me that in fact a motivational quote each and every day can go a long way!

When I started Radiantascanbe in December 2011, I promised myself I would post one positive, inspiring thought every day for a full year.

It changed my life.

As it happens, life got busier and wonderful things started to happen as a result of all the positivity and I got caught up.

I was reminded that the driving force behind all these great things was in fact being as radiantascanbe each and every day.
