What is it that you truly want to be free from? Religion,  an addiction or maybe just the status quo of life. Freedom is deeply connected to absolute truth. Your religious belief will never change the truth about how the world was really made and how our universe works. Your addiction will never change the truth about your love one being gone. Truth is not changed by how you feel, think and believe. So if freedom is connected to truth, then it serves to my advantage to set my mind to learning the truth and embracing it for what it is. John 8:31-32 “Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him. If you abide in my word, you are my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

for example, me and a business partner are losing money in all of our investments, so i will search out the cause of our problem. During the seeking of the root of the cause i discover that the partner is stealing money from our investments. Therefore in discovering the truth of the matter i will now release him from doing business with me, freeing me from the present problem “the truth is what sets you free”.

If Jesus is the way, truth and the life, that means that all of His words are truth as well. If then all of His words are truth that means i am now at liberty to experience a great degree of freedom. John 16:24″Until now you have asked nothing in my Name. Ask, and you will receive that your joy may be full.” John 16:33 “……Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” these are all words of truth. However there is another powerful tool that will transcend your knowledge of the truth and can be accessed by anyone who will receive it. “The Spirit Of Truth, The Holy Spirit.

John 16:13 “However when the Spirit Of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

The Holy Spirit is a very real part of my life and is often misunderstood by most people. He literally tells me “all things that concern me”. He is indeed the Spirit Of Truth and through Him i have experienced an exponential amount of freedom. I would do Him injustice to inform you about Him in a short sentence at the end of this message, so i will continue this in a second part.

Freedom & Truth are related.

Giving something to someone on a daily basis is important to the success of our lives. Now i’m not really talking about giving tithes to your church (however that is very important as well) ; what i’m referring to is giving to people you encounter on an everyday basis. O’k so we know that its better to give than to receive, but what is the real benefit for a person who gives?

We live in a world governed by laws. Just as there is a law of gravity, there is a law of giving, and most of us understand that the law of giving is “Give and it will be given back to you”, but i don’t think that honestly many of us believe that, but as we have learned “Your belief system doesn’t change absolute truth”. For example: Not many years ago the human race had no idea that a person could broadcast an audio message over the airwaves. To even mention such things was borderline insanity or witchcraft. But that never changed the fact that the airwaves were still a fact of reality; we just didn’t have the knowledge to access the airwaves. Now even though we don’t see the audio being broadcast in the air, we still know that it works now that we have perfected the law that was already in place.

Now i’m sure I can pull 100 scriptures to support the law of giving, but i think you will never really know how powerful it is until you experience it for yourself.
My personal experience has been, that when i go out of my way to help and give to others, the law God has set into place activates and shows up every time to help and give back to me.

I want to encourage you today to take the time and give something to someone. If its love you want, give a hug or a smile, begin to give love and affection to other people. If its Money you need, give money to someone else, like family in need or even a complete stranger. If its relationships/connections you need, connect someone else with someone they need that you are connected to.

Give to someone today. Take the time to make someones life better. I know from experience it will be a blessing to your life

Religion is simply a set of beliefs. Even atheism is a religion. The set of beliefs you hold to be true in your mind is your religion.

Jesus came to earth for 2 major reasons. He came to reconcile man to God, and to be a walking example of a person transcending the religion barrier. If you pay close attention to Jesus and the way He lived his life you will see that he was always breaking down religion barriers. He was always teaching on loving each other and going out of our way to help people. Jesus would purposely interact with people who had different beliefs on a regular basis.

In John Ch 4 we read how Jesus spoke openly to the Samaritan woman. Then in verse 20 we see how the woman argues about the 2 separate beliefs “Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.” Then in 21-26 Jesus completely transcends the religion barrier “Jesus declared, “Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem…….” He removed the mountain between the two of them and interacted with her on a much deeper level.

So you declare that you are a Christian and live right before God, yet if you have not transcended the religion barrier you have not kept the commandment Jesus gave by saying to “Love one another”, making you a transgressor of the whole law; for He that said Love your neighbor also said not to kill. Therefore what sets you apart from a murder In the eyes of God?

In closing i want to give you an example. Lets say you are a Christian and I am a Muslim. In church you preach and learn that you should reach out to Muslims and do your best to convert them to the knowledge of Christ. Yet in the going of our everyday lives we disrespect their beliefs, talk bad about the cloths they wear and give them the “My way or the highway” approach of trying to teach them about Jesus. If i were a Muslim i would not like you very much either.

You want to really change the world? Try loving and befriending people who don’t believe what you believe, then let your lifestyle and your love towards them be a reason they inquire about what you believe.

Introduction

Wisdom comes in this exact order; Knowledge, Understanding then possibly Wisdom.

Knowledge is simply information about things that are happening and have happened in and around me. To begin the path to wisdom I must first fear the Lord, because the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (proverbs 1:7). But how can I fear Him if I Don’t “Know” who He is? With that being said, learn who He is and you will begin at knowledge.

Once I come to knowledge I can then be introduced to “Understanding” (the ability to discern difference). For example, you understand that you’re reading a book and not a sea shell, because you discerned the difference between the two.

Finally, you have the opportunity to experience wisdom. Here is an example; Jimmy is at the store looking at a piece of candy. Now Jimmy doesn’t have the money to buy the candy so he thinks about stealing it. In this very moment he has the opportunity to become a friend of wisdom. Jimmy has the “knowledge” that stealing is wrong and has consequences; he also has the understanding that the candy is not free. He has completed the first 2 steps to wisdom.

“Wisdom is the ability to make a good decision regardless of the current circumstances”. Jimmy’s circumstances may seem urgent in that he really wants the candy but he uses his knowledge and understanding to capitalize on wisdom. He chooses to leave the store and return when he has the correct amount of money; a good decision regardless of his current circumstances.

You can have Knowledge and Understanding and still never meet wisdom, because wisdom is, and always will be, something that we will have to always choose to apply.

Wisdom does not necessarily come with age; wisdom comes with experience. King Saul lived most of his life in foolishness, yet the Bible state’s that King David “Behaved wisely in all his ways”, and this being when he was just a boy. David experienced a lot in a short period of time; he killed lions, bears and even a giant war lord. Through those experiences the faith he had in his God skyrocketed and he began to experience God like no other man ever had. But Saul’s life is riddled with bad decision after bad decision “There’s no fool like an old fool”.

How sweet it is to become best friends with wisdom.

Proverb 139:     A lot of men cheat because they think the woman they are encountering is a once in a lifetime opportunity; when in reality they are not capitalizing on a once in a lifetime opportunity, but rather destroying the one they presently have.

Proverb 3:    It has been proven scientifically that it takes just as much brain energy to paint a master piece as to scribble mindlessly. Since it takes just as much energy to scribble as it does to paint a masterpiece then you might as well paint a masterpiece.
