Belfield wins BBC payout over rugby stunt injuries:

The former BBC Radio Leeds mid-morning presenter Alex Belfield has been awarded compensation by the BBC after he was hurt during a stunt for Children in Need.

Belfield says he spent time in hospital and suffered cuts and bruises when he was rugby tackled by two players with Bradford Bulls during a live broadcast.

He had spent three years presenting the mid-morning weekday show from 9am–12pm, but left last month.

Man who killed Heart DJ absconds from jail:

A man convicted of killing Heart FM radio DJ Tushar Makwana during a burglary at his home has absconded from an open prison in Derbyshire.

Brett Frewin was one of four teenagers jailed in 2004 for the manslaughter of the presenter in Birmingham.

The French government has said that it will enforce a law so that the words ‘Facebook’ and ‘Twitter’ will not be allowed to be spoken on the radio, as well as TV.

President Nicolas Sarkozy’s colleagues have agreed to uphold a 1992 decree which stipulates that commercial enterprises should not be promoted on news programmes.

Madness frontman Suggs is to make his radio acting debut in a BBC Radio 4 drama, it has been announced.

Cricket pundit Edward Bevan was shaken and bruised after a ball was smashed through his commentary box window as he covered a match for BBC Radio Wales.
