Rails Developers wanted for Spanking New Startup

I am looking for 1-2 developers (if 2 than you have worked together before) that are ready to build a technology/software business they can have a good equity stake in vs. usual Silicon Valley way where you are mercenaries. I have led a prior Web 2.0, Rails, venture-backed firm & have 15 years of enterprise e-commerce development & business experience. I now plan to bootstrap a new software company to profitability without financing, dilution, etc. This means more risk, less up-front cash flow, but... a way better outcome for all.

Ruby on Rails Developer - Work From Home!

Ruby on Rails Developer - Work From Home!
Location: Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex
Compensation: $40/hr(C2C all inclusive)
Position: 6-month contract likely to extend up to 1 year. Work remotely from home.
** Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident (Green) Card holders **
Description
This is initially a 6-month contract but is likely to extend to up to a year. Also, this contract allows you to work from home. You will likely meet other team members once per week but you'll be working remotely most of the time. Because of the in-person team meetings weekly or biweekly, we can accept only local candidates at this time.
The company provides a service, primarily to the mortgage industry, acting as a processor for IRS and SSA requests for income and identity verifications. The customer uses an existing online application (Ruby on Rails) to enter information for the request. They then fax official documents to the company. The back office operation then matches up the faxes with the online orders, formats them properly, verifies that all the information is legible, within the legal requirements for the request and then batches the requests for processing by the IRS or SSA. The current implementation has some software to support operations but still involves quite a bit of paper copying and scanning. The system under development has a goal to eliminate all paper and dramatically improve back end operator throughput.
The back end is Ruby on Rails 2.x (Linux) with PostgreSQL database. Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL Server 2005/2008 is a big plus considering the backend database is going to change to one of these very soon. The new front end is Flex 3 (Flash 10). Flex 3 experience is a plus but not required. The new system will run parallel with the existing system with the longer term goal to eventually replace the existing system completely. Performance monitoring, reporting and dashboard type views are also planned.
Required Experience
- Ruby on Rails 2.x
- Linux
- PostgreSQL database or other database experience
- FLEX 3 (Flash 10) experience a plus but not required
Feel free to call/mail me for further details ASAP

Full-Time RoR UI Assassin

We need a serious, proven all-star to build a hot, clean, elegant, simple, Web 2.0 RoR front end.

We have a mid-size RoR/mySQL web app 6 months into development & we've screwed around too much with guys who claim to be RoR UI developers.

We have a team of 2 killer programmers on the back end, but we need to sexify the UI big time.

You have to be able to bring some great creativity rather than just being told what to do (common sense, right?).

This is a telecommuting position & we'd love to have you long term (1 year+) if it's a good relationship.
