I have been working on my food storage for years, buying a little a time and buying a few extras when they are on sale. I came across this wonderful woman's website at Prepared LDS Family.blogspot.com . I modified her list to fit my gluten free lifestyle. I snuck in toiletries scattered throughout different months. I also included different options for egg replacers so that I always

GF Sesame Noodles

I found this awesome recipe from The Pioneer Woman and wanted to make it immediately! With only 7 minutes for my noodles to cook and mixing up the sauce while they cooked.... I made this dish in under 15 minutes! I love quick dinners and this one was fast and delicious! If I didn't have to wait for the water to boil it would have been done in 7. This recipe was easy to tweak and make

2 Ingredient Recipes - Can they really be good?

All of this started with this email from StumbleUpon, 34 Insanely Simple 2 Ingredient Recipes. I was curious. My first thought was, "What can you cook with two ingredients, and it really taste good?"

So I tried a few that sounded good to me....

I jumped in and tried the Banana Cookies from The Burlap Bag...

This recipe called for 2 bananas and 1 cup of oatmeal. I just

GF Cereal Bars - Rice Free!

I stumbled upon this recipe from the Tessa Domestic Diva.com. She has a wonderful website chock full of allergy free recipes. I didn't think I would love this recipe, but my whole family loved them! I have several kids that can't have oatmeal or rice, so we used quinoa flour instead of oat flour. We also used our homemade jelly and they turned out heavenly!

The weather is getting warm and it is almost spring time again! I love spring! I have started my seedlings under my grow light and awaiting the warm weather so I can begin to turn the soil to add my plants.

I love starting things from seeds, and my kids love to mess in the dirt and call it helping. If you want to share that passion with friends, try throwing a seed party. I found

Hummus Fried Chicken - 2 ingredients!

I saw this recipe in Reader's Digest and couldn't resist making this super simple two ingredient recipe! Chicken and hummus! I used my favorite hummus from Whole Foods, a jalapeno hummus because I love spicy chicken. It is not a crispy hard crust, but a soft crust. I love this recipe! It is tasty without all the oily fat calories!

My son asked me the other day to make him tater tots. I wasn't sure that you could even make tater tots at home. I googled and mashed two recipes together and came up with one great tasting tater tot. It takes some doing, but they are worth it. If you want a less zesty tater tot follow the black measurements. If you want a zesty tater tot with a little heat, follow the black measurements

Better Batter vs C4C Pie Crust Review

This head to head was for Katie who asked about how Better Batter Flour stacked up to C4C Flour in a pie crust.

I have to start with that I really like both these flours. They are awesome to cook with. If you can have milk, C4C is wonderful! and if you can't have milk then I would hands down chose Better Batter.

Now on with the comparison........

This is the recipe I use when recipes call for chili sauce. Feel free to adjust the sugar and vinegar to your taste if you like your sauce tangier or sweeter.

To make this recipe nightshade free, replace tomato sauce* with no tomato ketchup, add vinegar and allspice, and then add the brown sugar one tablespoon at a time adjusting to your taste.

Ingredients:
1 cup tomato sauce* or no tomato

GF Dinners, Main Dish Meal Planning - Week 1

I found this great side dish from All You. It is from their November 2012 Issue. It is lends itself to being naturally allergy free and vegan free if you skip the meat and use a vegetable broth.

As you can see, I opted not to use chorizo but used fresh Italian Hot Sausage from my local farmer, because I know all the ingredients. I also added some corn to my helping since not all my kids

Pumpkin Chili

This is our family's favorite chili recipe. This holiday season is perfect for tying a ribbon around a jar of pumpkin chili, baking up a pie plate of cornbread and wishing a friend a Merry Christmas.

For those with nightshade allergies, skip the diced tomatoes and ketchup and use 4-1/2 cups of this tomato free ketchup . Delete the chili powder. Instead of chili powder you can add cumin

Gluten Free, Dairy Free Vanilla Pudding Mix

I found a dairy version of this recipe and made it dairy free because I wanted to add it to a cake mix. This powdered version is great for adding to your dessert recipes. You can change up your extracts such as using almond, lemon, pistachio, and pineapple to name a few. You can also pour the pudding into popsicle molds and make frozen pudding pops!

I do love Udi's hot dog buns, but being on a tight wad's budget these days I needed to make my own. I took a favorite recipe, my tried and true, and made it my go to hot dog/ hamburger bun recipe.

I used my favorite Italian Roll Recipe from Better Batter and gave it a little twe-a-k! You have to know that basing this bun off an Italian roll that they are not your firm, lot of bread bun

Pumpkin Pie Spice

I just knew that I had pumpkin pie spice in my cabinet, but when I unscrewed the lid , I found an iota of spice. Does this ever happen to you?

Here is my recipe, for when you need it right now!

Ingredients:
4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground allspice (or cloves)

Mix thoroughly and place in an air tight jar.

This recipe rocks! I love, love, love this recipe. This is another hit from AllRecipes that I tweaked to be dairy free. I also make this dish rice free by using quinoa. Use the same 1/3 cup quinoa cooked in the 2/3 cup of chicken broth.

Ingredients:

1/3 cup uncooked rice
2/3 cup chicken broth
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 large zucchini, or 2 small zucchinis, cubed
1 small onion, chopped
1 clove
