I posted this on some forums a while back and I got great responses, so I’d thought I’ll share this will with you too.

(This email is especially important for anyone who isn’t living in the US).

Here we go:

THE most important thing in being an affiliate is…

GETTING PAID!

If you don’t mind your cashflow, than sooner or later you’ll run out of cash and will be forced to stop campaigns and hold off traffic – which, in many cases, won’t be easy to restore.

These days most CPA and affiliate network offer bi-weekly or even weekly payments.

If you happend to live outside the US your payment is being sent via Check, and it can take additional 3-6 weeks the money actually becomes available in your bank account.

The solution is to setup a US bank account and have the networks send your payments directly. However, it’s becoming virtually impossible to open a US bank account without phisically showing up at the bank and signing a stackload of papers.

So what CAN you do?

Well… you can get yourself a Payoneer card.

(Ha?! A what card?)

Payneer is a well known company that issues Prepaid Mastercard Cards that can be loaded up with funds by 3rd parties (these would be your affiliate networks).

The Payoneer card “acts” like a US bank account. That means that you can get paid weekly and use the funds *immediately* to buy more traffic, pay for out-sourcing or whatever else you need.

Or course, you can also use it like a regular credit/debit card, and also withdraw cash from any ATM around the world.

Pretty cool, ha?

Up until recently, Payoneer only issued cards for large companies like Google, Amazon, and Commission Junction to give to employees and their top affiliates.

HOWEVER…

Payneer just came out with a card that was specifically designed for online marketers and affiliates to help them get paid faster and mind their cashflow.

I happend to be lucky enough to have friends at Payoneer, so when they asked me if I cuold help spread the word out – I said YES, but I asked them to sweeten the deal a bit more.

So I’ve decided to do something completely different.

I’ve decided to stop relying on affiliate promotions
to monetize my list, and, instead, I’ll be switching to
a paid list model.

By charging people a few bucks per month for my
newsletter, I can deliver real value to my subscribers,
by being able to “talk” to you about what I’m doing
in my businesses and sharing what’s working for
me and what’s not.

You know… “real” stuff.

I call it… IM Playbook.

I’m sure I’ll probably lose 80% of my subscribers
due to this move, and I’m cool with that.

I rather talk to a small “tribe” in a more personal
and intimate way, than to hordes of “tire-kickers”.

Today I want to address the aged-old debate of…

Free vs. Paid traffic.

People who know me know that I don’t “believe”
in using SEO to get traffic.

Before you get a chance to say “are you crazy?!”
let me explain what I mean by that.

It’s not that I don’t believe in SEO – not at all!
(it’s not like it’s a matter of faith anyway)

I’m all for getting free traffic. I’ll take all the traffic
I can get my hand on!

But I don’t focus AT ALL on getting “free traffic”.

…and I don’t recommend that you do, either.

Here’s why:

When you’re starting a new business online, you
need to get customers FAST.

…like RIGHT NOW!

Things like SEO, link-building and article writing -
while effective if done properly – take time.

You need to be a special kind of person to be able
to stay motivated about your business, after having
to wait months until you get your first sale.

The only fast way to get people to visit your website
(aka “right now traffic”) – is by paying for it.

Plus, there will always be sites/networks/places
that will sell me traffic – without having to understand
their algorithm.

And here’s the #1 reason I don’t recommend you
focus on “free traffic”:

IT KEEPS YOU SMALL

That’s right!

If your business relays on free traffic to survive,
that it’s not a good business.

Unless you can make money whilst paying for
traffic – you need to re-think your business model.

You need to structure your business in a way that
makes sure you can afford to pay for traffic!

It only makes sense.

So here’s what I recommend:

Focus on turning profit from paid traffic first, and
THEN go and get free traffic, if you still want to.

Sounds reasonable?
