Thierry Van Biesen drops by our studio today to show us his 'new look'!
Thierry is a one of a kind super fashion and portrait photographer living between New York and many other wonders of the world. Beirut born. Studied math and sociology. Got bored with facts and figures and bought a camera from an old girlfriend’s brother. Moved to New York to pursue a career in pictures. Learned to see from the likes of Sarah Moon and Arthur Elgort. Found his passion then moved back to Beirut to find his roots. Wishes to infuse the world with optimism and happiness, one visual at a time. Was feeling European so moved to Brussels, then London, then Paris. Inspired by everyone from Nikki de Saint Phalle to Moebius to Guy Bourdin. Seeing the world helped him see the world. Will never stop creating. Now divides time between New York and Paris, stills and moving images and then some. Tireless and fearless boundary pusher, storyteller, and visual linguist. Lives in his own truth and is quite happy there.

I woke up to this news today that put a huge smile on my face, and I'm sure to many faces I know! this collaboration between the Italian label's founder Consuelo Castiglioni and H&M is long overdue and will result in an incredible pattern and print fun collection. In their common effort to support the Lebanese creative economy and contribute to its growth, The British Council and Starch Foundation partner up to create a one-day seminar entitled:

“London meets Beirut: Innovation in the design Industry”

The aim of this initiative is to merge the expertise of some of the most renowned UK creative experts and Lebanese designers to:

• Give insight into innovation in the UK design industry, a pioneer in creativity, design technology and a platform for emerging talent.
• Give insight into the current Lebanese design industry
• Come up with strategies through an interactive panel to contribute to a faster growth of the Lebanese creative economy.

London speaks were Stefan Siegel from NNOT JUST A LABEL, Philip Delamore from London College of Fashion, and Ursula Geisselmann from Wallpaper* Magazine.

Lebanese designers’ panel who each acquired their education

and professional experiences abroad yet have chosen to setup their businesses in Lebanon. They have a lot to share with the audience and fill in the gaps on the current Lebanese design status and the Lebanese creative economy.

Approached by Boubess Group 9 month ago to redesign their Laziz restaurant in Hamra Beirut, Rana and her team decided to do something totally unique by embracing contemporary Beirut and what is had to offer. Elements from Beirut's Basta to London's Golborne Road were sourced to create the visual langue of the restaurant which slowly unveiled to become something that is very spontaneous and refreshing.

James Brett the man behind The Museum of Everything has now brought his world to London's Selfridges store. You can now see the exhibit in the store's basement And shop for some goodies in the pop up shop on the ground floor.

The Museum of Everything is London’s first and only public space for the display of art which has been created by artists living outside the boundaries of mainstream society. Beautiful and challenging, delicate and democratic, this is the secret art, which has inspired generations of artists - from Dubuffet to Basquiat. In this groundbreaking exhibition, the museum has invited leading artists, curators and cultural figures to explore the continuing connection between this genre and contemporary practice.
