TV5's newest mini serye Nandito Ako premiered this week with a bang. The show which stars American Idol Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta and the network's primetime princesses Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Eula Caballero was a worldwide trending topic last Monday. The show's title and related keywords also trended every single day during its pilot week! Looks like TV5 has created a new record. With this buzz the show has created, things seem to be turning out well for the Kapatid network as a primetime player. Will it be able to sustain the momentum? That we have to find out in the coming weeks.

Youtube Sensation JAMICH Hits TV with a Reali-serye!

While phenomenal team-ups like Kimerald and Melason achieved stardom via a reality show, the hit online loveteam Jamich is having it the other way around. After reaching celebrity status through their viral videos, Jamvhille Sebastian and Paolinne Michelle Liggayu have finally been given the chance to star in a mini reality series on TV.

Jamich in Love: Ang Realityserye ng Puso will be aired weekly within the morning show Kris TV. This production is giving Jamich's fans more than the simple guesting they're insistently requesting for. The show's host Kris Aquino acknowledged earlier that the teen couple's first guesting in January this year contributed to one of the show's highest rated episodes.

We'll get to know more about Jam and Michelle in the coming weeks as they share with us their real-life happenings. In the meantime, read on to find out what transpired in their first episode earlier and get to catch their special Valentine offering in case you missed it.

You're never too old for Hello Kitty. At least that's what Queen of All Media Kris Aquino proved to us when she spent her birthday earlier this month with the famous Japanese character. On her talk show Kris TV, Kris shared the details of her recent trip to Tokyo, Japan with her kids Josh and Bimby. Kris, whose birthday falls on Valentine's Day, also brought along with them a few of her closest friends.

As early as the 90s, Kris' love for Hello Kitty and her collection of the character goods have already been featured. Now more than a decade later, Kris happily revealed that while her kids Josh and Bimby wanted to see Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea, she was more excited about Sanrio Puroland. (She herself laughed at the idea of being a Hello Kitty fan at 41!) With the help of local Sanrio franchise holder Virgie Ramos, Kris and her group were assigned a tour guide and luckily saved from the hassle of long lines.

In Pinoy mainstream vocabulary, back-up dancers now simply mean: sumasayaw sa gilid ni Kim Chiu o ni Gerald Anderson (dancers beside Kim Chiu or Gerald Anderson).

They are never on the spotlight. They will never be. They will always be at the background of big, popular stars, even though, sometimes, they are far better dancers than these celebs. In fact most of the time, people don't even know or don't even mind who they are. They just focus on the celebrities.

The only time they get their very own spotlight is when luck & fortune bless them with a skyrocketing career to fame. Take Dingdong Dantes (Abstract Dancers), Vhong Navarro (Streetboys), and Jhong Hilario (Streetboys) as a few examples.

But there's something sexy about male back-up dancers. Nowadays, even male back-up dancers have their own followings.

Perhaps it's their angas factor, their hot bods & skimpy costumes, or maybe their sizzling, gyrating dance moves up on stage. Not to mention, once they go topless showing their sexy abdominals-filled-with-uummmh?!-oil while performing, you will just hope the camera will just pan on them the whole time.

Aside from the pressure to look good for an audience, there's an unspoken expectation from celebrities to have fashion pieces that match their profiles. Celebrity status is automatically equated to luxury and high fashion. If we think about it, some designer brands are saving a large sum of advertising money in the process. Target markets are effortlessly reached through famous clients. Some of these celebs are observed to have incorporated specific brands into their lifestyles further strengthening brand associations. When this happens, even an ordinary-looking bag or a pair of shoes suddenly becomes aspirational.

Think Sarah Jessica Parker and Victoria Beckham. There's no denying their brand use has largely contributed to the sales of Manolo Blahniks and Hermes Birkins all over the world. Another brand that seems to be a celebrity staple both in the local and international scenes is what we know as Louboutin or Louboutins.

When showbiz kids grow up, what do they do? They strip down to the bare essentials of course. Lol. Yep, we appreciate Alden Richards's first attempt at pagpapa-sexy (as tabloid writers would put it) as a skaterboy-slash-surfer in boardshorts for Folded & Hung's Summer 2012 campaign. Not bad at all, ain't it?

But the whole thing sort of reminds us of the time when another GMA artist, Paulo Avelino, transformed almost overnight from that adorkable Starstruck kid to a demigod when he did his Bench Body's Summer 2011 pictorial.

Okay, Alden Richards's photos are a little tamer, but it's a start. He's gone trending on Twitter and other social networking sites these past few days because of this project. So, does he also plan to do the Cosmo bit and then transfer to ABS-CBN later on, too? Hehe.

We got a hold of this month's issue of Star Studio magazine distributed in the Middle East and found a striking difference from its Philippine version. We find it amusing that Kim Chiu's spaghetti-strapped tops and mini skirts were transformed into sleeved ones and skirts with leggings.
Interestingly, photos inside are edited to fit the conservative culture of Gulf states. In the Middle Eastern market, it isn't unusual to find photos in foreign magazines (e.g. shots with cleavage, exposed legs, etc.) smudged out with a black marker.

Take a sneak peek into this month's loveteam issue with Kim Chiu and Xian Lim on the cover and check out how the magazine is spared from the black marks.

He's been trending on social networking site Twitter for two consecutive days now. Richard Yap, more popularly known these days as "Papa Chen" in My Binondo Girl, defies the norm and proves to us that stardom requires no age. The 44-year old commercial model and furniture businessman is now a household name after accepting his first acting job this year as Jade's (Kim Chiu) father in the hit teleserye. Still crush-worthy in his 40s, Richard instantly gained a huge following. Too bad for some hopeful fans though, the guy's been happily married for 18 years.

In his November guesting on Kris TV, Richard shared that his wife Melody and children Ashley, 15, and Dylan, 8, have been very supportive of his acting debut. In fact, his teen daughter helped convince Richard in accepting the role of Papa Chen when she learned about the teleserye's cast. And instead of hiring a personal assistant, his wife acts as one and does the job of taking care of his things on the set. Richard said this setup also provides some "bonding time" for them as a couple.

Last night, in a heartbreaking episode where Papa Chen found out he has a lung tumor, we noticed that the bad news-bearing doctor looked so familiar. We soon figured it out that she's the actor's wife in real life.

Today's cute revelation will surely turn any KimXi-slash-Jandy fan giddy. For those unfamiliar, the KimXi/Jandy loveteam was formed from the hit teleserye My Binondo Girl. Kim Chiu plays the Mulan-ish role of Jade while Xian Lim plays as her love interest, Andy.

Kris TV's house tour episode earlier featured the fabulous home of Dra. Vicki Belo. Together with her daughter Cristalle, the celebrity doctor gamely showcased their rooms and valued possessions, and shared random stories about their lives. One of the highlights of the feature was their girl bonding-slash-baking session with Kris Aquino. Kris revealed it was her special request to have that portion claiming that Dra. Belo's chocolate chip cookies are the best. (Dra. Belo shared there's a huge demand for the cookies that they now have an in-house pastry chef.)

Okay, here is our Battle of the Balls Part 2. David Beckham’s Los Angeles Galaxy is going against Phil Younghusband’s Azkals on December 3 in a friendly match that we doubt will be a sold out affair like the other Azkals games.

We just learned from the Philippine Daily Inquirer that the tickets are pegged at the following prices: P15,500, P12,500, P10,500, P9,500, P5,000 and P2,000. At those prices, they oughta give each member of the audience a minute of tête-à-tête with Becks.
