Or as Paul recalled on Tuesday, “The deep state targeted President Trump, and they fought hard to hide facts from the American people during the 2020 Russia-Hoax Impeachment Sham.”

The senator was sharing a new report from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard:

Sen. Paul did create “a pressure campaign to release the whistleblowers’ names and have them testify as material witnesses.”

DNI Gabbard’s report revealed how Deep State operatives within the Intelligence Community “concocted a false narrative that Congress used to usurp the will of the American people and impeach duly-elected President Donald Trump in 2019.”

Democrats were still mad Trump won, and so they just began fabricating things with a complicit mainstream media more eager to spread government narratives than to challenge them.

But Paul did. He literally did journalists’ jobs for them.

Paul spelled out what Gabbard’s report found. He said of the whistleblowers:

In other words, they had already decided to impeach him. That was the goal. Any lie needed to get there was fine with them.

Inspector General Michael Atkinson was eventually dismissed at the end of Trump’s term, but according to Gabbard he was a primary culprit in this whole fiasco.

Gabbard said Tuesday, “Inspector General Atkinson failed to uphold his responsibility to the American people, putting political motivations over the truth. And this, along with the politicization of the whistleblower process by a former CIA employee who was working hand in glove with Democrats in Congress, are egregious examples of the deep state playbook on how to weaponize the Intelligence Community.”

She added, “Exposing these tactics and showing how they undermine the fabric of our democratic republic furthers the critical cause of transparency and accountability and will help prevent future abuse of power.”

Sen. Paul sees the report as vindication of his challenge to Democrats and their impeachment sham trial six years ago.

California’s Democrats are hiding behind homelessness as they pay desperate homeless men to forge the signatures of registered voters; this is no “glitch” — it’s the Democrat Machine at work.

Victims see their faces and bodies superimposed onto explicit content without consent, often shared virally. The result can be humiliation, job loss, mental health crises, and a permanent loss of control over their own image.

Whole countries are stepping up aggressively—not just punishing creators, but actively helping victims reclaim their identities through lawsuits, takedowns, and compensation.

The Netherlands stands out as a leading example. In recent years, several Dutch celebrities publicly announced they had become victims of deepfake porn videos. They collectively filed criminal charges, marking a watershed moment.

Dutch law has adapted rapidly. In 2023, an Amsterdam court handed down the country’s first conviction for deepfake pornography—180 hours of community service—by broadly interpreting Article 139h of the Penal Code (revenge porn provisions) to cover AI-generated “images of a sexual nature,” even if no real footage of the victim existed.

The ruling recognized that realism is what matters: if viewers believe it’s genuine, the harm is real.

Victims aren’t stopping at criminal complaints.

Civil remedies are proving even more powerful for “giving people’s identity back.” Under portrait rights (a unique Dutch doctrine protecting one’s likeness), individuals can sue creators and platforms to demand immediate removal of content.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) adds another layer: a person’s face in a deepfake qualifies as personal data, triggering rights to erasure and compensation for damages. Tort law further allows claims for reputational harm and emotional distress.

Preliminary relief proceedings enable swift court orders to take videos offline before they spread further. In practice, this means victims can force platforms to delete deepfakes, sue anonymous creators when identifiable, and recover financial losses—literally reclaiming ownership of their digital selves.

The Netherlands isn’t alone. A wave of countries is enacting similar measures, blending criminal penalties with civil empowerment:

IN America, federal proposals like the Defiance Act grant victims explicit rights to sue creators and distributors of non-consensual deepfake pornography for damages. States such as California already allow civil lawsuits (AB 602), while the Take It Down Act (passed the Senate in late 2024) mandates 48-hour removal from platforms. District attorneys, including in San Francisco, have sued websites hosting deepfake generators.

UK, South Korea, Australia, Croatia Deep Fake Laws

The Uk has amended its Online Safety Act to criminalize both the creation and sharing of sexually explicit deepfakes without consent, with penalties up to two years in prison.

South Korea has taken the hardest stance, criminalizing not only creation and distribution but even possession and consumption of deepfake porn—punishable by up to three years in prison or heavy fines. This followed widespread school scandals involving students as victims.

Australia criminalized both creation and distribution in 2024, treating it as an aggravating factor in sentencing.

Croatia became the first member state to enact specific deepfake criminal provisions in 2021, with Spain drafting new laws targeting AI-generated images and voices.

Broader EU efforts aim to harmonize criminalization by 2027, leveraging GDPR across borders for takedowns.

Deepfakes don’t just create fakes—they steal identity.

By enabling lawsuits for removal, damages, and injunctions, governments are restoring agency. Platforms face pressure too; many now deploy detection tools and respond faster to reports.

Of course, challenges remain.

Creators often operate anonymously or abroad. Detection AI lags behind generation tools. Free speech concerns require careful drafting—Netherlands and others emphasize “realism” and “harm” thresholds to avoid overreach. Education and watermarking standards will be crucial supplements to legislation.

Senator Paul’s post is a timely reminder that deepfakes threaten the public square. But the personal stories of victims in the Netherlands and beyond show the human cost is even more frightening.

As AI evolves, so must our response to its output.

A vote was held last week. Thirty-six Republicans had the guts to support it. Sixteen Republicans and every single Democrat voted against it.

The data did not need permission. The RECOVERY trial provided some irrefutable numbers that nobody could spin: Dexamethasone reduced death rates in ventilated patients by approximately 1/3. From approximately 41% down to 29%. That is not statistics; that is people breathing again, leaving hospitals, returning to their children. What’s to decide?

Paul said to NBC’s Chuck Todd, “The most important thing to me isn’t necessarily me or what my role is, but that there is someone who’s advocating that international trade is good and makes us rich. That big is not bad.”

The Kentucky Republican has been an outspoken opponent of Trump’s tariffs. Some polls have shown that more than 70 percent of Americans believe tariffs have increased the costs of goods.

Paul described the difference between himself and what a figure like Vance might have to offer in terms of fostering a better economy.

The senator said that “the populists also want to break up big business. They want to break up Google because they’re liberal or Meta because it’s liberal.”

“I’m not one of those people, but that is sort of the Trump-Vance populist wing,” Paul noted.

He added that “there needs to be a free-market wing of the Republican Party. And I want to be part of trying to ensure that still exists.”

This criticism of Trump’s tariffs is not new. Paul told Kentucky’s Courier Journal in July, “I think in the Republican Party, though, there needs to be someone representing that international trade is good for America, that we get richer and more prosperous in the world we trade.”

Paul ran for president in 2016 in a cycle where every candidate including establishment darlings Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio were crushed by Donald Trump. Paul would eventually endorse Trump and became one of his most ardent supporters and defenders.

The Need for a True Anti-War ‘America First’ Republican

A significant part of Paul’s support for Trump was his condemnation of George W. Bush-Dick Cheney-Iraq War-style neoconservatism, an antiwar stance the senator shared with his father, libertarian icon Ron Paul.

Trump ran in 2016, 2020 and 2024 promising not to start any endless, regime change wars as all other 21st century presidents have done.

But now that Trump has launched an unnecessary regime change war with Iran, where does that leave an actual “America First” non-interventionist like Paul?

“I think it’s not good for America. I think what’s going to happen is it’s going to turn the public also against the president and against the Republican Party,” Paul said.

Poll show Americans are overwhelmingly against this new war of choice and over half believe its in part to cover up for the the release of the Epstein Files, the previously classified emails and communications of the late convicted sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Paul has consistently opposed U.S. wars abroad including the current one with Iran, and has tried to refocus on the American economy instead.

“I frankly think the biggest threat to America, the biggest threat to our national security, is actually our debt,” Paul told Fox Business.

The U.S. reportedly spent more than $11 billion in just the first six days of the war in Iran

Sen. Paul said, “They’re talking about another $50 billion they need immediately, but the president is also talking about another $500 billion that he wants to spend on the military. That would be a 50% increase in our military.”

“I think that you can’t be fiscally conservative and be for unlimited warfare,” he added.

Paul said last week, “The biggest threat to America and to our national security is actually our debt. I don’t think we were ever in danger of Iranian troops or the navy coming over to the United States.”

When asked back in September if he would make another White House bid, Paul replied, “We’ll see over time what happens.”

When asked this week, Paul said he’s thought about it, that there needs to be an anti-tariff and antiwar Republican in the presidential mix, and that he’s keeping an open mind on that front.

The Texas Medical Board voted to issue Bowden a public reprimand, and she had to pay a boatload of bucks in legal fees for prescribing ivermectin.

“I would do it all over again, without a doubt. I’m actually proud of myself for what I did,” Bowden said.

She’s one of the good ones.
