Tips and Tricks: Sharing Activity On Twitter, Facebook, and Other Sites

We want our entire community to be able connect with their friends. If you have gaming friends on Twitter or Facebook, make sure you’re sharing your gaming activity with them! Just head over to your settings and go to your sharing tab.

For Twitter, put in your account information, select what you want to share, and you’re good to go!

For Facebook, Raptr needs to connect to your Facebook account. Click “Add Application”. Don’t worry, there isn’t any clutter added to either profile.

Once you allow Raptr access to your Facebook account, you’re ready to announce to your friends!

Now all you have to do is play a game and Raptr will automatically announce your gameplay! Raptr can also announce achievements, daily summaries, and more; it’s completely up to you.

Raptr has your gaming news! Resident Evil 5 for PC release date announced for September 15 and the game will support Nvidia’s 3D technology. Newest Assassin’s Creed for PSP will connect the story between AC1 and AC2. Red Octane reveals the Guitar Hero 5 drum set and the high price tag with it. Direct2Drive is adding Lucasarts games to their service. Blizzard releases WoW Armory for the iPhone and it’s free! Looks like there will be several launch titles to go with Natal launch. PSEye will soon have facial recognition capabilities. Hulu tries to explain why they blocked PS3 users (and they failed at it). Nintendo has no plans to release the Black Wii in the US. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 PS3 release date is set for August 13.

Welcome back to OPGN! Where all your dreams come true if your dreams are reading video game news. PSP’s new strategy includes smaller, cheaper downloadable games such as Fieldrunners, the popular iPhone tower defense game. Valkyria Chronicles 2 announced… for the PSP. Wolfenstein is delayed two weeks. Bill Gates wants to bring Natal to the PC. Looks like we’re going to get a South Park game for XBLA. Gamestop sponsors indie game challenge with $100,000 to be won. League of Legends, the upcoming DotA style title, will be free to play. Resident Evil 4 for the iPhone will be released later this month. Alan Wake is a 360 exclusive… and maybe the PC. Telltale Games is holding a contest to include a line submitted by a user for a future Monkey Island title. Command and Conquer 4 requires players to constantly be on the internet.

Big announcements from many of the upcoming popular titles. Take Two Publishing announced Bioshock 2, Read Dead Redemption, Mafia 2, and Max Payne 3 will be released in the first half of 2010. After that announcement, Take Two’s stock dropped about 13%. Midway Newcastle was not kept by Warner Brothers and was shut down. Battlefield Heroes registers over 1 million players since launch. Modern Warfare 2’s “Prestige Edition” will include a bunch of goodies including fully functional night vision goggles. A look at the black Wii. The next Fallout 3 DLC gets release date and screenshots. Edios trademarks Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days - looks like there’s a sequel. Resident Evil 4 iPhone game was accidentally released and then pulled back, but not before some screenshots. New Halo Wars DLC on the way with new maps and achievements.

Why You Should Keep Your Strategy Guides

I recently bought Tales of Vesperia for the 360 and wanted to buy a strategy guide. I generally like to get the strategy guide for RPGs because I don’t like missing extra content (sometimes that stuff is impossible to get without help!). I noticed that there weren’t any guides at Best Buys or Gamestop, so I went to Amazon and saw:

Holy crap! This game came out not too long ago! I thought strategy guides were supposed to be like 20 bucks. Lame. I started poking around Ebay to see what strategy guides were worth something. First stop: Final Fantasy 7.

I know, right? That’s ridiculously expensive. It is “Buy It Now”, so that could mean that nobody will ever buy it, but I didn’t see any other similar items for a reasonable price. It’s the only 1st edition copy there too. I think I threw my Final Fantasy 7 strategy guide long ago…

I started searching for strategy guides I knew I still had from back in the day.

These are just a few of the guides on Ebay. After spending some time looking through my guides and price checking on ebay, I calculated that I could make about $300. Some of them weren’t worth anything, but several were worth a lot. Not bad for guides that I don’t use anymore.

So hold onto those strategy guides and keep them in good condition! You never know what they’re going to be worth later on.

We hope everyone had a good weekend! Fallout 3 DLC for PS3 delayed and reordered. Looks like someone got their hands on the script for God of War the movie. Warner Brothers will decide the fate of the Midway name. New Mirror’s Edge DLC for free on PSN and XBL. After No More Heroes 2, the franchise is leaving the Wii. For those of you that can’t get enough of Worms, it is now available on the iPhone. EA’s Wolfenstein RPG for iPhone is done, but not released just yet. Eidos is asking sites to take down the leaked Tomb Raider art. Dawn of War 2 beta update to end soon, which means the real patch should be coming! EA opens 8 Pound Gorilla to make smaller iPhone games. Keep your eyes peeled for another Call of Duty: World at War map pack.

TGIF everyone! Plants vs. Zombies is headed for more platforms. Game and Watch is coming to DSi ware for all your old school desires. Big surprise, Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo will not support streaming services such as OnLive. MechWarrior 4 to be free - how will they monetize, microtransactions? Bioshock 2 grabs a 4th developer for multiplayer content. The classic Elder Scrolls II: Dagerfall is free now. Little Big Planet Game of the Year edition with all DLC is to be released soon. Lots of Mass Effect 2 footage for your viewing pleasure. Konami to try to make you healthy with Wii game Walk it Out. In celebration of Street Fighter 4 for the PC, you can now play Street Fighter II in your web browser.

Many release dates and game announcements today. DJ Star lets you enjoy all the DJ antics on your DS. Summer of Arcade Games line up have been released - two big titles: TMNT: Turtles in Time and Marvel vs. Capcom 2. EA officially announces Command and Conquer 4. New Mech Warrior game announced with trailer. Ghostbusters demo released. Pre-order Splinter Cell: Conviction and get an in game semi-automatic shotgun. Return to Age of Conan and get two free weeks of play. GameStop has some big deals for summer. Battlefield 1943 is being fixed. Activision pushes back Singularity to work on Modern Warfare 2.

Achievement Comparison, Live Everyone Feed

We have always wanted our members to share their achievements, but it was difficult to compare to everyone else. Now Raptr will tell you how your progress compares to other Raptr members. If you’re one of the first, Raptr will let you know!

Sure the Raptr Stack is great for seeing what games are being played, but you don’t know who is playing them. We have addressed that and now the “Everyone” feed on your home page is in real-time and scrolling for those of you that want to see who is playing what game. Go check it out and add some friends!

Go grab some achievements and see for yourself! Make sure that all your identities are in your Raptr profile (Settings>Identities).
