Greg, thank you so much for taking the time to answer this and for the advice. I will check out everything you told me too. It's obvious and apparent you REALLY know what your talking about and it's so wonderful to have someone like you help out and not beat around the bush! These cab's are proprietary (or custom made I should say) but were designed by EV. These are retired point source boxes that were replaced with newer line arrays. They are legitimate concert boxes that some very well known touring artist have played through. I'm hoping that 3 tops/sub's per side, properly loaded will at least hit 2500 heads (maybe Im aiming to high..lol) and the key words being PROPERLY LOADED..lol. The owner of the sound company was awesome and well respected and he's given me some solid advice and information on the system. I completely understand the driver issue. I have not had them shipped yet so I haven't had a chance to measure the air space, but I do know what the original driver's were so having that knowledge and the air space measurements should help me choose the proper drivers and amp's.
I've waited many years to follow my dream and while it's not going to be easy or cheap, I'm driven and dedicated to this industry and the family here. I'm blessed for this chance and to have amazing people help me on this journey. Thank you so much again Greg!!
Crash

It's a great bit of software, if somewhat prone to crashing! But it does save your work automatically which is a saving grace. I am sure there is a downloadable tutorial pdf on the L'Acoustics website, but in my opinion the best way to learn it is just to get stuck in and use it. It can be quite intimidating to start with, but once you get your head round how to look at a venue in terms of surfaces and profiles it is a pleasure to use. It is very important to measure your room carefully - I have found that whenever I have had an unexpected result, where the real-world setup differed from the simulation - every single time it was down to a mistake in the venue drawing. One tip - if you are drawing surfaces, enter the points COUNTER-CLOCKWISE otherwise the surface will be inverted. This isn't necessarily a train smash, but can be tedious to put right!

I've verified that the info you pointed to on the Yorkville website is in fact erroneous. Here's a post from an ex-Yorkville employee on another site:

http://soundforums.net/junior-varsity/3453-amps-clip-indicators-fire-3db-below-actual-clip-post24952.html

Greg

Mixing subs is generally not a good idea. There is usually phase interaction due to different tunings that can't fully compensated for when operating in the same band-pass. If you do it, it's best to keep the same sub models grouped together and separate from the other model. Like having the 15s clustered in the middle and the 18s on the outside of the stage. But that's no guarantee they'll play well together. Experimentation will be in order. If possible, I would sell or trade the 15s out for more of the 18s you already use.

Thanks Greg.

I do a stage at Glastonbury Festival called West Holts, we're pretty much the 3rd stage depending on who you ask. We have been running x amount of kit but I though I'd just punt it out to see what the Rat boys do.

Thanks and I await their reply.
