New Canon G11 review at DCI

The Canon G11 is stock-piling reviews like crazy! The latest one to e-ink such a review is Digital Camera Info using their modern-era review format, which includes summaries of each review section at the very beginning, so be sure to jump over it if you like to read the review end-to-end without the spoilers!

The review has been added to the list of G11 reviews at the main blog review organizer. You can also check its stock-status at the G11 stock status matrix.

Just about all the major retailers are selling it at $500, however if you buy it from OneCall.com, you also get a bonus 8gb SDHC card and a Tamrac camera case.

Fuji S200 EXR review by Steve's

Steve's Digicams has just posted their review of the Fuji S200 EXR. This is Fuji's 2009 model using the 1/1.6" SuperCCD-EXR sensor found also in the F200 EXR. The camera has went smaller in terms of sensor size, as its predecessor, the S100fs was using a 2/3" SuperCCD non-EXR sensor. Perhaps Fuji is trying to be fiscally conservative by having one sensor instead of two.

As usual, we won't spoil their findings here :)

Sigma DP1 vs DP1s at DC-Watch

A Foveon civil war has broken out at DC Watch where they compare real-world sample pictures taken with each camera. There are seven such pictures, available in full-size JPEG if you click on them! Enjoy :-)

The DP1s is actually available for pre-order at Amazon for $600 with an estimated shipping estimate of "2 to 5 weeks". There is no hard-date provided however.

CNet UK reviews the Canon S90

The reviews are continuing to come in for the Canon S90, which could be one of the breakaway hits of the 2009 camera season. The latest review comes from Rod Lawton for CNet UK. This is a typical short one-page review, so don't get too excited about the potential of a 40-page dissectathon :)

The S90is is shipping from a number of retailers, which you can see at the nicely organized S90 stock-status matrix.

RAWsumers continue to do well at MAP

MAP Camera in association with digitalcamera.jp have posted their September 2009 rankings of their best selling digital cameras. As usual, there was a strong presence of RAWsumers, grabbing two of the top three, and three of the top six spots. Yes, the Panasonic LX3, which unlike the US market, does not have any supply issues in Japan! Ricoh has the other two RAWsumer spots in the top 10. These are the new-in-box rankings.

In the Used Top 20, the Ricoh GRD II leads the way, with two more RAWsumers, also from Ricoh staying there. Interestingly, the Canon G-series which typically has at least one camera in the top 20, is now gone.

The rest of the spots are mostly taken by DSLRs, so be sure to check it out if interested.

All apologies for the craziness with the template you have experienced the last 50 minutes. We have now switched to a two-column format. The main changes are complete.

There are two columns, the left column starts with a list of the RAWsumer reviews, followed by the latest posts here at the RAWsumer blog.

The right column starts with some basic navigation features, such as a link to the front page of the RAWsumer blog (HOME), links to the Contact and About pages and the RSS feed, followed by a Search box. After that, we feature the latest RAWsumer-themed headlines from the main noisy blog (1001noisycameras.com), followed by the RAWsumer deals from the Camera Deals blog (NoisyDeals.com), and followed by a list of the latest posts from this blog (RAWsumer blog).

The remaining boxes are the same as they were on the previous template of the blog, but they may look different because there is only one column. We will fine-tune those over the next few weeks.

Blog remodeling starts soon

We will convert this blog from a three-column to a two-column format. This will give us a longer sidebar which will make it easier to read the RAWsumer headlines from the other Noisy blogs, in an attempt to bring out more of the RAWsumer-related topics we write.

This should take about an hour, but just in case there are issues, you can always read the full-text RSS feed with your favorite newsreader regardless of the status of the blog. So be sure to subscribe to the RAWsumer RSS feed, or at least keep the url handy just in case.

We'll post an update once the update is completed :)

The Fuji S200fs RAWzoomer gets reviewed!

Because of the waves and waves of exciting cameras, some of the new models of 2009 has fallen below the radar. One of the cameras in this situation is the Fuji S200fs, but now it is getting some of the spotlight as CNet Asia has posted their review of this RAWzoomer!

As you may recall, with this model, Fuji went to a 1/1.6" SuperCCD-EXR, versus the 2/3" sensor of the S100fs. This probably makes this easier in terms of logistics for Fuji as they have fewer sensor sizes to worry about. But they did launch a 1/2.4" SuperCCD sensor as well for the fun-zoom F70-EXR.

If you look at the top of the right side of the RAWsumer blog, you will notice two new items added. We are pulling in the RAWsumer-related updates from the Main Blog (1001noisycameras.com) and the Camera Deals blog (noisydeals.com).

We hope this makes it easier for fans of RAWsumers to keep up with RAWsumer-related posts on the other noisy blogs.

Later on (maybe tonight), we will also change the sidebar to have one giant column, instead of two short ones. This will make it easier to read the headlines. We'll post an update before we start changes. And in case there are any issues with the template, you can always read the full-text RSS feed which is hosted separately on Feedburner.

Ricoh GRD III review at Radiant Lite

A brand new review of the Ricoh GRD III is out! Check it out at Radiant Lite. The GRD III is a relatively unique camera in today's market, however, the launch of the Canon S90is at nearly half the price would have been putting a lot of pressure on the GRD III, but the GRD III was already a special-interest model to begin with.

Canon SX1is review at Imaging Resource

Canon's forgotten born-again RAWsumer is getting a share of the spotlight today as one of the two major camera review sites has just published its review. Check it out at Imaging Resource.

The SX1is has had its troubles, being priced well above all other RAWzoomers, even the Fuji models that have larger sensors. The other problem it has been facing is that its Canon CMOS sensor raised expectations, perhaps unrealistically, and when the first samples and reviews came out, there was a letdown.

So now that Imaging Resource has put it through the paces, what else did we learn? No spoilers here :)
