This past weekend, we were looking for something fun for Quinn to do. Lately, she's been coming home from daycare and wants to sit on her butt and watch YouTube for Kids for hours. We aren't having it. I wanted to take advantage of the weather and get out while we could since our Saturday was wide open.
I took to Facebook asking all my friends for suggestions on where to Rachelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14126166805183387593noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6741071831808757044.post-11915702453441419582016-02-02T07:30:00.000-06:002016-02-02T10:07:57.646-06:00CHASE RYNE: 2 AND 3 MONTHS OLD

In an effort to feel better about myself, both inside and out, I've been incorporating more clean and healthy options into my lifestyle. I'd say diet but I'm not one to diet. It's more about eating foods that actually taste good and are healthy versus just eating something because 'it's good for me'. I'll watch what I eat but I'm not going to go crazy.

If you could choose one word that will describe your 2016, what would you choose?
My word is growth.
Whether it's my career, coaching business, personal development, kids, marriage, blog and so on. I want to see growth in all areas. I feel like every single day, I'm going through the motions and life is pretty status quo. This year I want to see and do somethingRachelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14126166805183387593noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6741071831808757044.post-80093807721858210612014-11-14T05:36:00.002-06:002016-01-11T12:27:04.234-06:00BOOKS I'VE BEEN READING LATELYIs it just me or does this weather (20's here in Iowa...flurries every other day) make you start to hoard books and never want to go outside? I find myself thinking I need to go to the library to get new books when I clearly have a stack of borrowed books at home, plus an additional array of books on the Kindle. I guess this is where the term book nerd comes in to play.

A few months ago, I was thinking of ways to cut little costs around my home. One of those things that came to mind was laundry detergent. I was running through bottles of Tide and never really thinking that my clothes were getting clean.

Quinn's hair has grown a least fourteen times longer since last summer. I wanted to see exactly how long it was and what she would look with straight hair so I took care of it with my flat iron. She was so good through the whole thing and was very still. You should know before looking at these pictures that Quinn loves seefood.

My brother-in-law gave my sister Maroon 5 tickets for her birthday and of course she asked me to go with her (as if she had any other choice). This past weekend was the concert and to say it was great would be the understatement of the century.
I don't know who people were more excited to see, Adam Levine or Maroon 5. My child is starting to get to that age where she requires more than just a few toys to get her by. Sometimes she gets bored and with boredom comes whining. I don't do whining. Enter homemade play dough.
I've had this play dough recipe pinned for quite awhile now and I figured with the crappy weather keeping us in all day, it would be a good day to cook it up. 1. Swimming. The best decision we've made is to sign Quinn up for a swimming class. She gets all her energy out twice a week and is completely wiped when we get home. I've never seen that many laughs, smiles and screams from her. She has absolutely no fear of the water. Story of my life. Am I right or am I right?
Looking back on the past year and how much ambition I have now (which is not much), I've developed a reasonable list of goals for 2013.
1). Read 50 books.
2). Complete the Insanity program.
3). Run 12 races this year, including a half Rachelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14126166805183387593noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6741071831808757044.post-33975865956709702462013-01-18T18:50:00.001-06:002013-01-18T18:51:10.971-06:00Book Club: What I've Been Reading Lately
I challenged myself to read 50 book this year. Last year I read 45 so I don't think it will be that big of a stretch to get 50 under my belt (I'm already on number 4!).
I recently purchased a Kindle and let me just say that it was the best decision I've made in awhile. I take that baby everywhere. Quinn and I used it at her doctor's appointment a couple weeks ago to Rachelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14126166805183387593noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6741071831808757044.post-3064055692830658112013-01-08T19:48:00.000-06:002013-01-08T20:02:23.816-06:00Christmas Part Dos
We spent the Sunday before Christmas at my husband's parents with his aunts and uncle. Quinn was very spoiled receiving a bunch of Minnie Mouse (obsession is in full force) and a sled.
Christmas Eve was spent the usual way. We attended 4 pm church service and then went back to my parents for the rest of the evening for a little Mexican food fiesta and Rachelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14126166805183387593noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6741071831808757044.post-59218947393489755902013-01-04T21:37:00.001-06:002013-01-04T21:37:26.884-06:00Analyzing 2012I was talking to a group of girlfriends a few days ago and the topic of goals for the New Year came up and it got me thinking, what am I really set on doing this year? I mean what must I do this year that is so profound and different from the previous years? Nothing, nothing really came to mind.

Can it really be in a nutshell if I divide it into two posts?? Whatever. Also, when I think of nutshell, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song plays in my head...
Aside from my husband being a bone head and not getting to relish in few glasses or so of alcohol (see my husband is a bone head), Christmas was pretty good.

Well that's pretty easy, it's singing loud for all to hear. I save my beautiful voice for the shower and Quinn, though. I've joke sang in front of my husband quite a bit lately. If I asked Quinn what she wanted to be for Halloween, she would tell me a ball, dog, cow or night, night because that's about all she says to everything.
Tonight I taught her beep, beep which is pretty fun and I'm hoping she starts using it in public.
