Larson Farms’ Chet Larson Relies on Razor Tracking to Stay Connected in the Field

You’ve probably seen Chet Larson on his highly-viewed YouTube Channel, Larson Farms. It’s a 5th-generation corn and soybean farm in west central Minnesota.

When you’re running a large operation like Larson Farms, every piece of equipment counts — and so does keeping tabs on all of it. Recently, Chet Larson worked with the team at Razor Tracking to outfit his semis with powerful GPS and telematics tracking. The experience—seamless, efficient, and already delivering results.

“The guys from Razor Tracking just finished up installing the tracking devices. They did five trucks — all wired in and synced with my John Deere Operations Center app,” said Chet.

“Now I can track everything from my phone — fuel levels, location, you name it. My tractors, my combines and now my trucks all show up in the John Deere Operations Center like any other piece of equipment.”

The Razor Tracking team worked quickly to install tracking on a variety of vehicles, including some older models that required custom wiring, which is a feature made possible with the Pro Tracker.

“The 2014 semi-trucks were easy — plug and play installation with the Premier Tracker. They had those done in like fifteen minutes,” Chet explained.
“The older trucks were a bit trickier, especially the one my dad calls the ‘junkyard truck’, but they just did a clean three-wire install. It’s more reliable that way.”

Beyond basic tracking, Chet also learned about Razor Tracking’s dash camera options — both AI-enabled and standard — and the AT230, a Ping-on-Demand Asset Tracker. It’s one of the simplest ways to track non-powered equipment.

“My dad said maybe down the road we’ll get some of those dash cams for footage. And that asset tracker,” Chet joked.
“You can just throw it in a boat and ping it to find out where your buddy’s fishing. Genius!”

Tracking Efficiency: How One Farm Uses Razor Tracking to Stay Ahead During Harvest

Zach Johnson, better known as the Millennial Farmer, recently featured Razor Tracking on his popular YouTube channel. A fifth-generation farmer from Minnesota, Zach is passionate about using technology to bring greater efficiency and safety to modern agriculture.

As his family farm gears up for another demanding harvest season, Zach faces the usual challenges of managing equipment across hundreds of acres with multiple drivers and tight timelines. This year, he’s leveling up by outfitting his fleet — including semi-trucks, a fuel trailer, and even his John Deere 9870 combine — with Razor Tracking’s Premier Trackers and Elite Dash Cameras. Bringing Peace of Mind to Rural School Bus Transportation

Located in the heart of rural North Dakota and surrounded by endless stretches of cornfields and soybeans, Northern Cass School District faces a unique transportation challenge: 90% of their students ride the bus.

Serving six rural communities (Hunter, Arthur, Erie, Grandin, Gardner, and Argusville) alongside open enrollment students from more urban areas like Fargo and West Fargo, the district spans a large geographic area with diverse road conditions. “We’re literally surrounded by cornfields or soybeans on all sides,” says Dr. Corey Steiner, Superintendent. “Getting students to and from school safely is our number one priority.”
