When I started this website, I did so because I wanted an easy way for people to find me. I've had this website for approximately two years now, adding content here and there whenever I had some free time. My goal was to have fun and rank high for the search term "Robert Dawson" as I figured that is what people would type when looking for me ;)

So according to this name database site, there are 4,847,146 people in the U.S. with the first name Robert. There are 91,455 people in the U.S. with the last name Dawson. There are 1,441 people in the U.S. named Robert Dawson. So facing some stiff competition from a painter and faculty/professor, this website is now ranking #2 for Robert Dawson...In Google and Yahoo. But poor RBdawson.com is ranked second page in Bing. Can't win them all I guess.

So What?

Well this relates back to a lot of the work I do for companies through my own company Top Search Result. Obviously if I can't rank well for my own name then I'm in the wrong business. I'm not 100% sure of the direction I want to take this website right now. In the future it might be more business oriented with a work portfolio...or I might just keep posting randumb blurbs on my personal life.

Anyways, in your face other Robert Dawson's. Position 2 out of about 1,870,000 web pages for Robert Dawson based on Google results.

Cornwall PEI - Apparently Ebay's Top 10 Active List

Cornwall, PEI. My old stomping grounds, where I coach stick puck, and occasionally where I go to raid the freezer and cupboards of my parents. Technically I grew up in NORTH RIVER which got amalgamated into the town of Cornwall...but I digress.

Apparently little Cornwall, Prince Edward Island, ranks top 10 in Canada for active Ebay users. Someone mentioned this to me the other day. I didn't believe them since they may have had a few brewskies on the go. But the internet, much like TV never lies...Check out the Guardian website or Ebay itself for "empirical evidence".

This was a surprise..until I started thinking about it. My Dad bought a car on Ebay. One of my friends has been buying everything from DJ equipment to crazy watches to everything in between. So yeah I can see how it adds up.

The top five buying categories for Cornwall are NHL hockey cards, DVDs, car and truck parts, Beanie babies and video games. So maybe my friend has some other addictions. Beanie babies... tsk tsk tsk.
