Next in line for Ghostly's "From The Vaults" treatment? The Dancing Box, the 2004 debut LP from James T. Cotton, which, funnily enough, is another alias of Detroit's Tadd Mullinix, last week's FTV subject as Dabrye. Mullinix dedicates his Cotton guise to exploring the outer reaches of hard-edged, acid-leaning techno, a direction that is obvious in "Saavy". That one's on the house, the rest is available on the cheap over at the Ghostly store.

Well, they did it. After collecting and re-releasing his essential work from the sixties and seventies in New York - Addis - London, and arranging a who-could-have-thought-it-would-be-that-brilliant collaboration with London's Heliocentrics for Inspiration Information Vol. 3, Strut finally elicited a new solo album from legendary Ethio-jazz founder, composer, arranger, and musician Mulatu Astatke. JAZZ HANDS ALL AROUND, Y'ALL. Mulatu Steps Ahead, Astatke's first solo LP in over twenty years, is out March 30 with "Green Africa" as its first "single". There is nothing floating around the Internet today that is as soothing and musically confounding as this. Promise.

Asher Roth's frat-rap anthem "She Don't Wanna Man" gets keytar-whipped into a cutting, danceable frenzy with adept electropopsters Yes Giantess at the wheel. The original can be found along with the rest of Roth's now-infamous backpack jams on Asleep In The Bread Aisle, but we prefer this synthed-out rework, which will twist, splash, and cowbell straight into your neon heart. Catch Yes Giantess if you can at their SXSW debut, which comes after a long line of killer shows spent supporting the likes of La Roux, MSTRKRFT, and Clipse.

"Arkansas" opens with the line "I don't recall the last time we spoke / You said it's my fault, I still don't believe you," which is something anyone who's ever argued to the point of exasperation can relate with, and if you can't then you are just a sucky arguer. It's the second song and first leak from Seattle folkie Damien Jurado's new album Saint Bartlett, which was produced by Richard Swift (he's responsible for that newly vaulted recording quality) and is due May 25 through Secretly Canadian.

PREMIERE: Lauren Pritchard - Stuck (Various Production Remix)

Lauren Pritchard's bio reads like a Lifetime movie. Originally from Jackson, Tennessee, she moved to Los Angeles at 15, played keys and sang back ups for a bunch of unremarkable bands before eventually finding herself homeless and taken in by, of all people, Lisa Marie Presley. She landed next in New York, cast in the soon-to-be-huge, Duncan Sheik-scored musical Spring Awakening. She left that behind for a music career, which sent her, finally, to London, where she wrote an album with producer Eg White called Wasted In Jackson and signed a deal for its release with Island. "Stuck" is from that album, and Various Production's remix, with its soap opera strings and soft touch piano, sounds as cinematic as her back story.

Reclusive Seattle ambient musician The Sight Below will release his second album, It All Falls Apart, on April 6 through Ghostly, and contained therein is this cover of Joy Division's "New Dawn Fades," fleshed out with the vocal assistance of Tiny Vipers' Jesy Fortino. It's ominous, gaseous, huge, and foreboding, sort of like standing on an empty beach and staring down the dark face of a rain cloud from hell. Or maybe The Sight Below is the smoke monster?
