Bergman's experience spans real estate development, program management, land use planning, research, and urban/regional redevelopment strategies. In particular, he has worked intensively on issues surrounding the formation of urban and regional development strategies and the role of public investments in infrastructure for economic development. With a strong background in public policy analysis and the communication of economic development goals to community stakeholders, Bergman's professional practice has centered around public private partnerships, redevelopment, and general plan economics. Hines Student Urban Design Competition, the most prestigious graduate real estate and design competition in the country.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Team members include (from left to right):&lt;br /&gt;Sarfaraz Momin (M.U.D.)&lt;br /&gt;Mike Johnson  (M.U.D)&lt;br /&gt;Deirdre Groves (M.U.P. and Real Estate Certificate), student team leader&lt;br /&gt;Danielle Bober (M.U.P. and Real Estate Certificate)&lt;br /&gt;Michael Tchang (M.B.A.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Kit McCullough, Lecturer at TCAUP, was the faculty advisor for the team.  The ULI/Hines Competition is a part of the course, UP 564, the Integrated Real Estate Seminar, the capstone class of the Graduate Real Estate Certificate.  The course is taught by Chris Leinberger, Professor and Director of the Graduate Real Estate Program. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There were 96 teams in the competition from schools such as UC Berkeley, University of Pennsylvania, Harvard, among others.  The urban design competition focused on The Cedars section of Dallas, immediately adjacent to downtown.  The final four teams will have an opportunity to revise their initial design concepts following a site visit and will make a personal presentation in Dallas in early April, when the winner will be announced.
