Realist® 1.13 Release Review

Realist® Release 1.13

The 1.13 release contains adjustments requested by MLS organizations, along with usability enhancements. This release focuses primarily on customer specific Realist enhancements. Key new benefits in this release include:

1 | Modified email interface to improve delivery to providers with stricter email policies

The “From” field on the email dialog has been replaced with a “Reply To” field. To remain compatible with stricter email privacy policies, all emails will be sent from Realist using an internal email address, but when a recipient of the email replies, the email address entered into the “Reply To” field will be used.

2 | Added the ability to save the Realist map as an image file

There’s a new addition to the map tools that allows users to save an image of the map. By selecting the “Save Map” button a PNG file is created and can be saved to the user’s computer. Please note that users will need to allow pop ups from Realist for this feature to work properly.

3 | Added the ability to select comparables from the comparable property detail dialog

A new feature has been added under the comparables summary, property detail dialog. Users can now select/deselect comparables to be included or removed from the report by using the check box in the upper right hand corner of the dialog.

4 | Improved compatibility with Windows 8.1 64-bit using IE11 and Firefox

Previously customers had experienced challenges using Windows 8.1 and newer versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox. We’ve improved compatibility with these browsers to resolve this issue.

5 | Other Notable Changes in Release 1.13

Upgraded utility services to resolve anti spam email issues
Added several fields for display, search and autopop to support ongoing customer integrations

Realist 1.11 Release

The latest 1.11 release focuses primarily on improvements in Realist® response time and performance, but also contains numerous usability enhancements requested by MLS organizations.

WHAT’S NEW

Launch performance improvement

Performance related to the initial launch of Realist is significantly improved by the latest release. We applied several methods to accomplish this result. One key is that non-essential components of Realist are now loaded in the background after the application is already launched and available to users. Another key has been utilization of local browser cache to enhance performance. We hope you and your members will reap considerable benefits from our efforts in this area.

Enhanced property selector navigation

Navigation buttons have been added to the top of the property selector to allow users to more easily navigate through their list of search results. Click the left arrow to see the prior property on the list; click the right arrow to see the next property. As a user clicks up and down the list, the property will also be highlighted on the list itself.

Improved modify feature

The dialog to modify report sections now remains open so that users can make multiple selections more nimbly and quickly. Simply check or uncheck each section to display or suppress. When all selections have been made, simply move the mouse off the dialog window to close and save the revised settings.

Enhanced photo support and workflow

The number of photos supported by MLS systems has increased considerably over time. Consequently, we’ve increased the maximum number of photos available via Realist from 25 to 35. This change will be reflected for new listings captured within Realist, as evidenced through Realist’s photo viewer and photo reports.

The 1.11 release also includes improved report workflow to package photos with other Realist reports. Whereas users could only print a stand-alone photo report in the past, now they will be able to include photos with other reports by using Realist’s “Customize” workflow for printing, saving or emailing reports.

Enhanced Subdivision search dialog

The subdivision search dialog has been further enhanced to automatically execute a “contains” search. As shown in the example below, searching “horse” returns all subdivisions that contain the word. Additionally, the search limit has been increased from 50 to 100 entries per search.

Added lender name search

The long awaited lender name search feature has been added. Now users can search across the Realist property database for specific lenders allowing them to narrow in their search results.

Enhanced Neighborhood Name search

This dialog has been enhanced to use the same lookup dialog as lender name, which makes it much easier to find and select neighborhood names to add to search criteria.

Enhanced preference dialog for comparables

The dialog supporting comparables search criteria has been significantly refreshed. By using drop down menus and re-organizing the sequence of options, the dialog will be more friendly and navigable.

Added active school links to PDF on neighborhood profile reports

The neighborhood profile report has been enhanced by maintaining the school linking function on reports that are emailed or saved in PDF. Clients receiving these reports will enjoy the instant ability to explore local school websites.

Added map layers, display and search fields for various customers

Throughout the year many of our customers bring special requests for their specific locale. In this latest release we were happy to add customer specific map layers, search fields and display fields to bring a new level of customization to our customers.

Realist 1.9 Release

The 1.9 version of Realist will be installed on the evening of Monday, May 6^th.

Release Highlights
This release offers a streamlined interface for users to instantly control the display of report sections.

The Quick Search screen has been enhanced to remember your recent search criteria as well as a Clear All button to quickly remove any entered criteria.

In addition, this release showcases truly new and improved Market Trends. We believe these redesigned statistics will help members educate their buyers and sellers far more effectively. We also anticipate that users who subscribe to the premium suite of MARKETrends will be especially delighted with the new power to analyze and communicate.

This release also extends the power of Realist Lite by enabling users accessing your MLS via smartphones to perform standard Realist searches and obtain the most popular reports. As in the past, users will be delighted that Realist Lite will automatically detect they’re using a smartphone and launch the version of Realist Lite expressly designed for the device in the palm of their hand!

Wondering how it works? Realist can now detect when agents are signed onto your MLS system using a tablet and automatically present our new tablet-friendly version.

Same Great Features
Whether agents are viewing an MLS listing and want to see the corresponding property on Realist, or wish to conduct a search on Realist, they can now conveniently to do so on a tablet. The following functionality is available:

Search by address, owner name and APN
View results on a grid containing up to 50 results
Instantly view Property Detail Reports, Comparables, Market Trends or Neighborhood Profile reports directly from the grid
Additionally, reports are delivered in PDF format which agents can save and email using their tablet.

Information to Note
Personalization for each user’s reports requires the desktop version of Realist. In addition, the following items can only be set up on the desktop version of Realist: sections of the property detail report to be displayed and comparable search criteria / default selection for the Neighborhood Profile Report.

Routine System Maintenance

During specific overnight hours on two weekends in November, Realist® will be performing routine maintenance on the technology infrastructure that supports the site. Your business is important to us, and we have scheduled this work during established maintenance windows that have minimal impact to our clients.

Realist will be offline during the following two time periods (stated as Pacific Standard or Pacific Daylight Time):

8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3 to 4:00 a.m. Sunday November 4
8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17 to 2:00 a.m. Sunday November 18

Realist 1.8 is Coming Soon!

The 1.8 version of Realist will be installed the evening of Monday, November 5^th.

Version Highlights
The latest release improves Realist Lite by opening up access to all tablets. It replicates Realist’s most popular reports and searches for tablet users linking from the MLS to Realist. These users will be delighted that Realist will automatically detect their tablet and launch Realist Lite.

In addition, the new version will introduce improvements to neighborhood profile, searching and deliver several improvements to the navigation and personalization of Realist.

Realist will be upgraded tonight, Saturday April 28, 2012 starting at 8pm PST and finishing around 3am PST Sunday morning. During this period users may experience intermittent access to Realist and the Realist reports.
