The ABC states a French reality TV program  called The Game of Death, contestants are asked to deliver near-fatal electric shocks to their opponents.

 I can barely believe it is true, but it must be as the ABC are reporting on it.

The US series of Project Runway will be back on Arena next week, but before we see the new season set in Los Angeles, there will be a one off All-Star Challenge.

This will screen on Monday night on Arena at 8.30pm.

The Project Runway All-Star Challenge is as the name suggests is a mix of contestants from the previous seasons.

They are:

• Mychael Knight - Season 3
• Jeffrey Sebelia - Season 3
• Uli Herzner – Season 3
• Santino Rice – Season 2
• Daniel Vosovic – Season 2
• Chris March – Season 4
• Korto Momolu – Season 5
• Sweet P – Season 4
   

The winner of the challenge will take home $100,000. Not bad for a couple of days work.

Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi who gave birth to her daughter Krishna Thea Lakshmi last month has now confirmed the father of the baby. It is Adam Dell, brother of the guy who owns Dell computers. I should add Adam is successful in his own right.

Adam Dell is currently negotiating visitation rights with Padma. (Source Daily Mail)

I was wrong on who had fathered the child I thought it was either a sperm donor due to her endometritis issues, or a Top Chef contestant. Ok I was hoping for the latter.

Anyway for Top Chef fans the next series will be set in Washington DC.

Popular comedian and contestant on last year’s Dancing With The Stars Fiona O’Loughlin has created an uproar when she paid out on Bindi Irwin on Spicks and Specks according to News.com.au.

The News.com.au states:

Viewers branded O’Loughlin spiteful and hateful after her performance on Wednesday’s episode of ABC music quiz Spicks and Specks.

O’Loughlin described 11-year-old Bindi as a “bit creepy” before doing an over-the-top impersonation of the child star’s voice.

She then made a gesture indicating Bindi was crazy, before miming a slap across the child star’s face.

But O’Loughlin has today defended her comments.

” I don’t know what all the fuss is about! it was a throwaway line as a part of some banter on a comedy panel show. I’m a comedian and comedian’s make fun of people we know ! I’ve said worse about myself,” O’Loughlin said.

I wish I had seen the episode to see everyone squirming. June Dally-Watkins would probably advised her that it is not a good idea when one of Bindi’s former Croc boys was on the panel.

New Idea have done a good special on Farmer Wants A Wife and has given updates on many of the farmers, and their partners.

Farmer Jenny

First up is female farmer Jenny Blake who is rumoured to be expecting her first baby.

New Idea said:
After marrying fellow farmer Mark Geppert last year following a whirlwind romance, it seems her dreams of a family might finally be coming true.

Jenny giggles to New Idea: ‘I can’t say anything yet’

But there’s a buzz among the Farmers about Jenny’s news. Andrew hall, who appeared in the show and went to Jenny’s wedding told the Adelaide Advertiser  he’d caught up with Jenny’s best friend – but was tight lipped about the pregnancy.

“I’ve no comment – yet,” he said.

Jenny,34, is understood to be having her baby in September, but is hesitant to discuss it at this stage.

Farmer Ben

Farmer Ben Honey is now engaged to Kate Morgan a girl mutual friends set him up with.

He told New Idea:

“Kate was absolutely stunning,” Ben 32, tells New Idea. “I thought:’This can’t be the girl they said was for me, can it?” I thought the girl they wanted to set me up with must have been in the toilets!”

A little over a year later they were engaged.

Kate who is a primary school teacher is 23.

She said “I’d never lived on property before and it was extremely different from what I’m used to. But I love it now – to have all this space is amazing.

Ben proposed while they were in Queensland for his cousins 21st birthday party in January. They plan to wed later in the year.

Farmer Rob & Jo

They will be getting married in the next few weeks. Expect to see an article in one of the weekly women’s mags.

They will wed in Dunkeld – half way between Rob’s 890-hectare property outside Mount Gambier and Jo’s home city of Melbourne. About 100 people are expected to attend the black tie nuptials.

Farmer Howie

Season Two Howie Webster is still wanting to meet his perfect match. New Idea reminds us that he rejected his budding ‘wives’ on the hit TV series because there were no sparks and he did not want to waste their time.

He told New Idea:

“It does get lonely out here, but I’d rather be alone and relatively happy than be in an unhappy relationship,”

“Some people say I’m too fussy, but as you get older, you know what you want and what you don’t want. My time on the show only reinforced my views and ideas of what I want and I’m not that keen to waste my time.”

Farmer Damien

Good news he is now living with the love Racheal Peynenborg. Damien Atkins the gentle farmer from Tasmania says they are not yet engaged because he spent all his money on a new tractor.

He told New Idea:

“There’s nothing to report yet, but we have bought a do. That’s a big step for me. It’s the most commited I’ve ever been,” he laughs.

“It doesn’t seem like we’ve been together for 18 months,’ he says. ‘We get along well. She helps on the farm by feeding a few calves and poking around in the vegie patch, but I didn’t bring her over to be slave labour.

Farmer Ralph

New Idea reports he has just broken up with Siri. Before filming had ended on his season in 2008 25-year-old horse trainer Siri Spranz had moved in.

But last week she moved out with Ralph saying he was not ready for marriage at this stage.

He told New Idea:

“I felt the spark was there, and it certainly made sense at the time,”

“Siri’s a great girl and really ticks all the boxes, but in the end I realised I was not ready for that sort of commitment.”

They broke up over lunch.

“There were no heated arguements, but it was very emotional watching her pack her things and move out,” he says. “It doesn’t feel real at the moment, and I stil don’t believe it’s over.”

Andrew the explosive expert was overlooked by Jenny as she picked Owen, however good news he has now hooked up with Cass Skapin a woman who went on the  show to meet a farmer. She was rejected by Farmer Ralph. But these two are now living together in Rockhampton.

Jessia S who I thought would be in danger this week gave a great solo in her ballroom genre with her paso doble routine.

Also I thought Renee’s solo as better than Jess’s but maybe Jason Coleman’s declaration that he “likes his dancers pretty” came into play in that decision.

I also noted that Renee and Jessica S were holding hands as the verdicts were delivered but they were not touching Jess.

Thank you to Phillipe for providing a community service and dancing with his top off. It clearly gave his maori style solo much more impact.

I thought Heath’s solo much better than Nick’s. In fact I found his technique to be a bit weak, but maybe he has shown more growth in the competition than Heath, and that is why he was eliminated. Considering Jason even said Nick’s solo was weak, and Heath’s was stronger they punted him. I think it was the wrong decision was made.

You can watch the going ons in the house 24/7, but once a week you can watch a thirty  minute episode which updates us on what is going on.

This week it was episode three, and it was about the guys first week in the house, however they have now been in the house for a good two weeks, so I would have liked it to be a bit more current.

My other criticism is that it concentrated more on the five ‘characters’ chasing their dream, ie meeting their acting coaches, model coaches etc, then showing us some of the house dynamics. So I did not find the episode that riveting.

But here are a few thoughts on the episode:

• They did show Giglianne the wannabe model eating, something I had not seen her do in the house yet. Albeit it was a very small amount and she was eating it slowly;
• Gigli also went on a casting call for Bebe for a catwalk show, but missed out because of her height. I would love to know how tall she is, as she seems shorter than the other girls in the house;
• Justin the wannabe singer/songwriter spent time with a professional songwriting pair JT Harding and Blair Daly, this guy probably will be successful, and I bet he performs on the American Idol final night;
• Amanda, Kara, and Ben all wannabe actors got to meet their acting coach. What amazed me was Amanda did not appear to have any drama training, she just see herself as a comedy actress.

Hopefully as the episodes continue they will show more scenes with the contestant’s interacting, also next week seems interesting as Giglianne gets told off about something.

No I am not talking about the cooking temperature, I am talking about celeb chef and TV hottie Matt Moran appearing as a guest judge on the show.

He will be taking over for a bit of a stint while Gary Mehigan recovers from a knee and leg injury after slipping over on the set. No news whether the injury happened because he slipped over the saliva left after George Calombaris drooling over the hot female contestants. Your guess is as good as mine. Knowing Gary he was probably in a rush to get to the deep fried section of the catering truck.

The Daily Telegraph  article says:

Mehigan will miss some of the late series cooking challenges, and Matt Moran has been drafted to fill in for him.

The article also queries whether the viewing audience will be sick of cooking shows because My Kitchen Rules will have just finished.

My view is that My Kitchen Rules is like an appetizer you would have at your local chinese, and Masterchef Australia is the main you would get at Aria.

Rumour has it that it will premier at the end of April on Channel Ten

Unfortunately Ten’s second channel is a sport one.

A few thoughts on tonight’s episode:

• Robbie and Ivy’s Debbie Ellis routine was great it will be interesting to see how they go next week with different partners;
• The Mary Poppins routine was perfect for Heath because he was able to really camp it up, conversely I was a fan of Jessica’s but she is losing me, she is just not hitting any new heights;
• And if you didn’t know Matt Lee will be starring in Mary Poppins later on in the year you do now;
• Renee and Phillipe’s hip hop routine song, was set to Wade Robson’s music, is there anything that guy cannot do?
• Can we just talk about Jess’s tattoo down her left side – is this something she is going to regret in 10 year’s time? By the way I am not sure Jess is connecting with the audience if she makes top ten it will be interesting to see if she gets votes;
• Carly was ordinary in the salsa with Kieran and needs to keep her mouth shut when she dances;
• I get the feeling Matt will be gone if he lands in the bottom three;
• Move over Tania Zaetta, Ivy is coming to Mumbai, it was perfect for her, I wondered if that was a bit rigged that her and Robbie got that genre;
• Underwhelmed by Heath and Jessica’s sloppy hip hop, did Nacho Pop choreograph it or is off still flipping burgers somewhere?
• I really liked Jess in the Gabrielle Climi routine.  I thought there were some partnerwork issues, but that could  have been Nick being tentative after his injury in rehearsal;
• The pinochhio routine is going to take put Keiran and Carly into the bottom three, that choreographer Yianni needs to be sacked, but then Bonnie thought it was the best routine of the night – Go Figure;
• Pasha and Anya are still here in Australia +2, Phillipe having his shirt buttoned up -1. By the way why has noone interviewed Anya and Pasha?
• The Square Divison routine was well danced but just not exciting enough.

Bottom Three prediction: Carly and Keiran, Heath and Jessica; Renee and Phillipe.

Here are just a few thoughts on the episode:

• Is anyone buying the Coach and Jerri romance? I don’t as Jerri must surely realise he is a nutjob;
• Why are the villains unable to build a freaking shelter, haven’t they all been  on the show before, wouldn’t they at least have some idea about how to construct it, or at least look up a how to manual before coming;
• Rob had a brain explosion over his tribe so much so he collapsed;
• Also I thought Rob’s teammates were pretty inadequate when he collapsed, Jerri was tryign to revive a semi conscious person, why did she not get help straight away. Also there seemed to be no one with him until the medico’s arrived. But that could just have been editing;
• Rob’s view was it was time to let bad Rob out as that was making him ill, not that I saw any sign of bad Rob in the episode – I was disappointed;
• In the first immunity/reward challenge I could not work out why Rupert sat out. I know he has a broken toe but a lot of the challenge was strength. Also the heroes blew a huge lead, and James was not happy, as he thought there were too many people giving orders;
• James reasoning for Stephenie to be voted off was she was kryptonite to challenges she never won any. I have never seen James talk so much.
• I thought Tom was being slightly cutting towards James when he said to camera about where James fit on the winner/loser spectrum, and how he doubted he was always a winner.
• Shambo’s ghost was again here this episode with more chooks running around, I am starting to think the producers have planted them on the island;
• I like Cirie and the way she plays, as she said to Candice who had the swinging votes she did not care who went. I like she is unemotional about the whole game. Also unlike Dr Mike and Jayson she is not afraid of double checking on people in her alliance;
• The second immunity/reward challenge was again a strength challenge. I think this is a tad unfair for the girls;
• Also i think they get a bit rough. Coach was aiming his bag at Rupert’s head;
• What was the kiss Tyson gave JT after the end their bout, clearly a not so secret sign to say they will align if they both make it to the merge;
• I am not liking James as much this season, he just seems a bit angry, throwing the wrestling bag at Randy was unnecessary;
• Coach looks like an alien under the night camera;
• Also Russel has been hit by the Parvati spell, it would be kind of ironic if she bought him down, considering he was so misogynistic in Survivor Samoa;
• Coach think’s Parvati is the Mata Hari of the tribe;
• Quote of the night by Parvati on Russell “I do kind of trust him even though he is a lunatic”,
• And he proved it by hiding the machete hoping to create mayhem in his tribe’
• I wanted Parvati to stay just because the Jerri and her dynamic is good viewing. I cracked up when she called her a cougar;
• However, Coach and Jerri are right, if Parvati makes the merge she will be very dangerous;
• Parvati was safe, and Randy was voted out;
• What gets me is why Courtney is safe, she is lazy and completely useless in challenges, and yet sales through.
