We admitted it to be a tough week and we were 100% right. That is one of the advantages of playing Daily Fantasy Golf as opposed to being stuck in a year-long fantasy golf pool – if you don’t have a good feel for the week, you just don’t play and you don’t lose money.

Morale of the Story – You can’t lose what you don’t put into the pot!

On the bright side, only 1 of our 6 DraftStreet Sony Open picks missed the cut, which at least gave us a fighting shot come the final round of the tourney.

Anyhow, looking forward as opposed to back…this week the PGA Tour moves on to the 2013 Humana Challenge and features a smattering of top golfers on the PGA Tour including Phil Mickelson and Brandt Snedeker.

Who will be the top fantasy picks to choose at DraftStreet this week?

Check out our list below and set your lineup at DraftStreet to make some money playing daily fantasy golf.

Are you new to playing Daily Fantasy Golf ?

Check out our Fantasy Golf Tips and our Fantasy Golf Strategy Guide for a crash course on how to make yourself some money playing Daily Fantasy Golf.

Below is the fantasy golf lineup that we will be playing and think has the best shot of winning us some money. We are playing multiple games at DraftStreet against other daily fantasy golf players.

2013 Humana Challenge Player Picks for DraftStreet

Zach Johnson – $19,495 – Zach just missed the cut last week so he may benefit from an extra 2 days off to prep for the Humana. He finished in 8th place last year and has a good short game which will be a huge plus on this shorter course.

David Toms – $16,448 – David Toms has made the cut in all 13 of his entries and finished in the top 25 six times including in 6th place last year. In other words, Toms is a good reliable safe pick that usually scores enough to play the weekend and continue to get fantasy players more points.

Matt Jones – $10,348 – Jones was having a great Sony Open until he finished a weak 70 final round to drop him into 15th overall. Up until then he was flirting with a top 5 finish. As a low cost DraftStreet pick, Jones has good value to round out your fantasy golf team.

John Senden – $16,146 – Senden has made the cut 10 out of 11 times which include 4 top 10 finishes and a 6th place tie in 2012. Senden had a good showing at the Sony Open so he could be poised for another good showing this week.

Bill Haas- $22,580 – Haas has had a great career at the Humana which was previously known as the Bob Hope Classic. He should score well enough to play all four days which will net us some nice fantasy points.

Tommy Gainey – $14,220 – Gainey has continued his good golf play from the end of 2012 into the start of 2013. This will be his 3rd tournament in a row so the risk of fatigue kicks in but he should be fine to survive the cut and score the fantasy points that you need.

Total DraftStreet Salary – $99,237

Also, for those that want to have a more professional look at picking players that will do well, check out Golfbanker. We have sent fantasy players there for years and they have gone on from our free fantasy golf picks and predictions to using Golfbanker on a regular basis because of his stellar results at making players huge money.

We had a great tournament though, winning our fantasy golf matches with the team that we picked and suggested that you play at DraftStreet.

When making our picks for the 2013 Sony Open we will caution that picks for this tourney are up in the air. Some of the players we would have picked will have played on Tuesday in the final round at Hyundai and may not be up to par (pun intended) to play this week. Some may withdraw and some may simply be too worn out from the way the first week unfolded.

Remember, if you are just starting out into the world of Fantasy Golf at DraftStreet, you may want to read up on our Fantasy Golf Tips and if you are just looking to play the yearly office golf pool, check out our Fantasy Golf Strategy Guide for some extra pointers to help build your fantasy golf team.

Below is the fantasy golf lineup that we will be playing and think has the best shot of winning us some money. We are playing multiple games at DraftStreet against other daily Fantasy Golf players.

Rory Sabbatini – $15,374 – Sabbatini was all over the place last year in terms of finishes and given that he is probably on the downside of his career this can be looked at as a speculative pick. However, Sabbatini has always played well at the Sony Open having seemed to always make the cut and score well which includes 2 second place finishes in his career. We like Sabbatini to at least play the weekend and survive long enough to net us some more fantasy points.

Carl Pettersson – $24,734 – Pettersson had a good year in 2012 and finished second at the Sony Open last year. He looks to get on track early and may be in his prime form for his career. An 8th place finish at The Hyundai Tournament of Champions this past week is a great sign that he is poised to continue to play well in 2013.

Mark Wilson – $15,519 – Wilson started off strong the first round at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions but a weak second round put him towards the middle of the pack. Wilson finished strong tied for 11th place with a solid final round. A strong season starter on the PGA Tour, look for Wilson to continue his strong week at the Sony Open.

John Senden – $16,385 – Senden had a pretty decent run in 2012 which included 5 Top 10 finishes. He should show well this year and net us a few decent fantasy points.

John Rollins – $14,212 – Rollins finished in 10th last year and 8th in 2010 at the Sony Open. He may not be the most consistent throughout the year but he has shown that he likes it at the Sony Open. He’s a risky pick but at a low salary price he may grab us some easy fantasy points.

Sang-Moon Bae – $13,331 – To round out our fantasy golf roster at DraftStreet we will take a shot at Sang-Moon Bae. The youngster from Korea finished in 29th last year at the Sony Open and had a pretty good full season overall in 2012. Hawaii is closer to home than most tournaments so he may feel a bit more motivated to play well.

Total DraftStreet Salary -$99,555

Now that the NHL Lockout is officially over, people running office pools online and offline will be hard pressed to have the inclination or time to get a 2013 fantasy hockey pool going for the shortened NHL season. With many pool junkies desperate and scrambling to get involved in fantasy hockey for the season, the alternative is Daily Fantasy Hockey online. This could be the year that Daily Fantasy Hockey takes off and the world realizes how easy it is to play and to make money enjoying fantasy hockey each night of the season.

If you have not heard of Daily Fantasy Hockey then you have already missed out on the chance to make loads of cash with your hockey knowledge. I used to play in as many office pools each year as I could for both the NHL regular season and playoffs. Ya – they were fun, and I would win occasionally and likely break even or be slightly up, but I never won anything substantial – or at least nothing more than a few hundred dollars and loads of pride. Then I heard of Daily Fantasy Hockey and I was hooked! Realizing that I could play fantasy hockey every day online for real money was a gold mine! No more gathering friends together. No more collecting cash and hounding people to pay. No more getting your top pick(s) injured and wasting an entire season. The invention of Daily Fantasy Hockey meant I could play and win every day without worrying about anything except the fun part – picking my players.

How Daily Fantasy Hockey Works

Basically, once you are hooked up with a site (see list below), you deposit some cash via Paypal or Credit Card to create an account. You usually get a sweet cash bonus thanks to the Daily Fantasy Hockey promo codes that are available out there. You choose from one of the many games where you can pick how many players you want to play against as well as the cost of the pool. You pick your players for that night’s games. You watch and hopefully win! It is really that simple… The game ends THAT NIGHT. You get paid THAT NIGHT. You can play a new fantasy hockey pool the next day to win more money.

Where To Play Online

There are now several sites that offer Daily Fantasy Hockey online for real money. I will just list a few of the top sites to get you started. I have been playing for a couple years now and have tried most of them and made note of a few where I like to play regularly – you should check them out for yourself, as one might appeal more to you than the others.

Those that are new to Fantasy Golf may want to check out our Fantasy Golf Tips and try your hand at DraftStreet this week. With a deposit bonus of 40% using the DraftStreet Promo Code REALPLUS (also known as a DraftStreet Recruiting Code), why not make a deposit today and see what fantasy players have known for years…there is a lot of money to be made from playing Fantasy Golf.

Below is the lineup that we suggest has the best shot of winning and we have taken our own cash out to prove it. We have taken this lineup at DraftStreet and put it up against other Fantasy Golf players. Can you beat us?

Hunter Mahan – $16,884 – Mahan had a strong year in 2012 by winning two tournaments and finishing 6th in the FedEx Cup standings. Having always had the talent, Mahan finally put it together and showed that he could be a top PGA Tour player. Look for him to start off 2013 strong at the season opening tournament.

Dustin Johnson – $20,251 – Johnson has a slow beginning to 2012 due to injury but finished the year off strong. There is no doubt he can be a top golfer on tour when healthy and we predict Dusting Johnson to be knocking on the door of some of the majors in 2013. He has played well here in the past and should score us some nice fantasy points.

Mark Wilson – $11,356 – 2012 was a bit of a disappointment for Wilson who was looking to build off of a sold 2011 year on the PGA Tour. Wilson has signs of greatness last year but then would follow with a clunker. Wilson always seems to start strong and could take advantage of the field with some slow starters in the group.

Rickie Fowler – $17,124 – There are many that believe that Fowler will one day take a big step on the PGA Tour like Rory McIlroy did a few years ago. I’m not one of those people. I do however think that Fowler will continue to improve his game enough to be a valuable fantasy golf player to insert into the odd tournament. With a small field, Fowler could creep up and finish in the top 5 if he is motivated enough.

Brandt Snedeker – $19,785 – Snedeker kind of came out of nowhere to win the 2012 FedEx Cup. Although a good solid PGA Tour player, not many thought he would dominate the season’s playoff and with the big prize. Snedeker looks to build on that and have a good showing in the season’s first tournament.

John Huh – $13,652 – Rookie of the year on the PGA Tour in 2012 Huh looks to continue to impress and at just over $13000 he is a great final choice for our fantasy team.

Total DraftStreet Salary – $99,052

The Fantasy Golf season begins the first week of 2013 in January (see the 2013 full schedule at www.PGATour.com) and daily fantasy golf players and golf bettors are licking their chops to tee off. Golf bettors are choosing sites such as http://topbet.eu to make easy money wagering on golf when using the right golf betting strategies.

Fantasy Golf players have been using our Fantasy Golf Strategies for a few years now to increase their bankroll on a weekly basis to supplement their income as golf can be a sport that makes fantasy players big money, even if you know very little about the sport.

So far, there are two daily fantasy sites that offer Fantasy Golf for real money – DraftStreet and BuzzDraft. But other sites may be in the testing phase to soon introduce daily fantasy golf games.

DraftKings could be one of the sites ready early for the 2013 PGA Tour fantasy golf season which would be an exciting site to have join the fray.

DraftKings is well known for offering $1000 Weekly NFL Freerolls and has shown the same love for fantasy NBA basketball with an abundance of freerolls available for the hard-court fan as well.

Join our Newsletter or follow us on Facebook and Twitter so that we can let you know when daily fantasy golf arrives at DraftKings, so that you can take part in whatever golf freerolls that they will undoubtedly be offering. Combine that and the amazing 100% deposit bonus available at DraftKings and this is a win-win situation for fantasy golfers.

Golf is almost back…so it is time to start doing your homework for the 2013 season and plannning your strategies that will net you the most profit and sit back and get paid watching your fantasy golf picks make you money each and every weekend.

We went 3 for 3 in Week 11 with our survivor picks and are primed to continue the momentum into Week 12.

Many suicide pool players are running out of options having only subpar teams left on their list to choose from. However, if you are still alive at this point – congrats – you have beaten the averages!

It is turkey week in the NFL and there are 3 games on Thursday – so if you like any of those, please be sure to get your knockout contest picks in on time. We suggest you avoid Thursday games unless you have New England still available in your elimination pool – which is doubtful.

So, here are our Week 12 Survivor Picks…

NFL Week 12 Survivor Picks

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES over the Carolina Panthers - Unfortunately, Philadelphia was our Week 12 survivor pick before the NFL season started and we have vowed to stick to these picks throughout the season. Are we ecstatic about this pick – no. However, there are a few things that might work here. Philly is at home, Carolina doesn’t play well on the road, it is Monday Night (prime time) and Michael Vick might be back! If he isn’t, it will be Nick Foles’ 2nd start and it should be better than the 1st. Look for Andy Reid’s job to be saved for one more week.

MIAMI DOLPHINS over the Seattle Seahawks - This is another tough choice – but this one is all about “travel”. Seattle doesn’t travel well and they are making their longest trip of the year travelling to the furthest destination in the NFL for them in Miami. The Dolphins, like Jesus, are due for a win here to keep their slim playoff hopes alive for one more week. Look for Miami to prevail in a tight defensive battle.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS over the Buffalo Bills - If you haven’t used Indy so far this year in your suicide contest, now is the time. They are for real and in the hunt for a playoff spot. Buffalo looks brutal and is out of contention and will just be playing for pride…but Indy needs to win this game and are at home where they have been dynamite. Most survivor pool players will overlook the Colts, so jump on them as your Week 12 pick.

For a full rundown of survivor picks for 2012 check out our 2012 NFL Survivor Weekly Picks.

Good luck in your pools this week!

Now things can get really tough for most knockout pool participants as most players have used the big names and are running out of choices. Fortunately we have multiple eliminator picks for you below so you can survive to Week 12. Our recommendation this week is to be wary of the obvious pick – Dallas as they are facing a Cleveland team that is starting to gel and is coming off a bye week.

Now on to the picks for Week 11…

NFL Week 11 Survivor Picks

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS over the Indianapolis Colts - Although Indy is surging right now, they take to the road to play one of the top teams in the AFC in New England in Week 11. This won’t be the blowout we thought it might have been at the start of the season because Andrew Luck is the “real deal”…but the Patriots should be able to win by a touchdown or more. With Gronkowski healthy, and Ridley playing at his best, the Pats may be the best team in the AFC.

ATLANTA FALCONS over the Arizona Cardinals - Atlanta is coming off a tough loss to their rival New Orleans Saints and they will be looking to take their anger out on whomever is willing to take a beating. Unfortunately for the Cards – it is them. This one shouldn’t even be close. Look for Atlanta to take a quick lead and rest their players by the 4th quarter. Expect a 3-touchdown plus beating.

ST. LOUIS RAMS over the NY Jets - The Rams are finally starting to look like a real NFL team going into Week 11. The Jets are horrible and have to play on the road in what should be a loud stadium in St. Louis. Look for Danny Amendola to continue his awesome play and for the Rams to edge the Jets. Great because many survivor pool players haven’t taken the Rams this year.

Week 10 saw the concussion monster pop up and has caused many fantasy owners to worry about their starting QB leading up to the playoffs for their various leagues. Jay Cutler, Michael Vick and Alex Smith all were knocked out of their games on Sunday and Ben Roethlisberger hurt his shoulder and ribs. Will any of them be cleared in time for NFL Week 11? Only time will tell, but for those owners with these QBs, or owners who are desperate for QB help, the Week 11 waiver wire will be a busy place.
Additionally, last week, we were left wondering about the Oakland and New Orleans running back situations. Last week’s games cleared this issue up a bit, but at the same time caused a little more confusion with another running back in Oakland making an appearance.
Here are your Week 11 top NFL waiver wire pickups.

Jeremy Stewart (RB – Oakland Raiders) – While we speculated who would get the carries for the Raiders in last week’s post, out of nowhere, Jeremy Stewart gets signed from the practice squad and muddles the waters even further. Marcel Reece got the majority of the touches and that will probably be the case in Week 11, because Taiwan Jones isn’t trusted by the coaches. D-Mac and Goodson aren’t coming back this week, so taking a chance on Stewart may be worth the gamble as a change of pace back if you are desperate for a running back.

Danario Alexander (WR – San Diego Chargers) – There was never any question about the talent that Alexander possesses…it simply comes down to whether or not he can stay healthy. When healthy, Alexander has had games like Sunday where he went off for 7 catches and 134 yards including an 80 yard TD play to start the game. He is a great pick up – just pray he doesn’t break on you heading towards the playoffs.

Chris Ivory (RB – New Orleans Saints) – Last week we stated that someone will step up in New Orleans and take the reins. Although there was still an even distribution of touches, Ivory was the one who showed the most for fantasy purposes. When Sproles returns, it is anyone’s guess how the ball carries will be divided, but Ivory proved last week that he deserves a bigger role in the Saints offense.

Colin Kaepernick (QB – San Francisco 49ers) – The 49ers have until Monday to get Alex Smith cleared and all signs point to Smith playing against the Bears, so Kaepernick may not be worth picking up, but for those who have room on their bench could look at him as a flier just in case Smith fails to clear medically.

Nick Foles (QB – Philadelphia Eagles) – We wrote to pick up Foles back before Week 9 games. For those that did, and stashed him on your bench, you may now have a starter for the rest of the season. Vick suffered a serious concussion and now the speculation is that this is the opportunity the Eagles wanted to sit Vick and see what they have in Foles. He could be the spark the offense needs and could generate some nice numbers for your fantasy team.

Jason Campbell (QB – Chicago Bears) – Picking up Campbell is solely dependent on whether or not Jay Cutler gets cleared to play in Week 11. Cutler was knocked out of Sunday’s game with a concussion, and if medically cleared, will be back starting on Sunday. If he’s not cleared, Campbell showed he can step into the Bears offense and run the show capably.

Byron Leftwich (QB – Pittsburgh Steelers) – So out of nowhere another QB goes down in the Monday night game, which will send more people scrambling to the waiver wire this week. With Big Ben’s injury, the Steelers began to simply run the ball the rest of the game as Leftwich looked inaccurate on his throws. It could be rust from not having played in 37 months, so a week of practice will help his accuracy, but look for the Steelers to have more of a run-first offense which means the wide-outs will lose some of their fantasy value as well.

In Week 9, we nailed Houston over Buffalo. Week 10 “seems” to be an easy week, unless you have used up the teams that are heavy favorites in the NFL. Just in case you have, we always provide a longer shot pick for your knockout contest.

For those who are still alive in their suicide pools or are in the 2nd eliminator contest of the year, here are our Week 10 survivor pool picks.

NFL Week 10 Survivor Picks

BALTIMORE RAVENS over the Oakland Raiders - The Raiders travel across the country to face a Ravens team that is now in “playoff hunt” mode. Oakland lost their top 2 running backs in Week 9 and will possibly be starting Taiwan Jones at RB this week. Look for Oakland to “have to” throw the ball more…and in Baltimore “have-tos” are disasters. This should be a cakewalk for the Baltimore D – look for a lopsided game in what could be a chilly M & T Bank Stadium.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS over the Kansas City Chiefs - Is there a worse team in the NFL than Kansas City? If not for their huge upset win at the beginning of the year over New Orleans, half of America might still be alive in their survivor pools and we would still be perfect and Kansas City would be 0-8. These are teams heading in opposite directions – the Steelers are in a playoff run and the Chiefs are in “#1 draft pick hunt” mode. It won’t be pretty Monday night – we expect a score close to 38-10.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS over the New York Jets - If you have not used Seattle yet this year in your suicide pool, this could be the time to do so. The Jets have been pretty bad and Mark Sanchez won’t be able to handle the noise in Seattle – especially with 3rd string receivers. This should be a mess for New York. Not only are they traveling a long distance, but Seattle was home last week and are waiting for them likely well prepared. It won’t be a blowout, but Seattle should take you to Week 11.

Week 9 saw a big back in Darren McFadden go down and reports have him missing anywhere from a week to multiple weeks. Not a great time to lose a starting running back although D-Mac has been pretty pedestrian so far this year. The problem becomes…who will his replacement be? As we outline below, the Oakland Raider Running Back situation is murky at best.

In addition to replacements for D-Mac, this week’s waiver wire list sees the emergence of a couple of other wide outs and the return of another.

Forgotten, because it happened late in the week before Sunday’s games, was the announcement that Darren Sproles will be out for a while with a broken hand. Some reports say he could possibly be back for Week 10, but we would suspect him out for a little while longer especially given that the Saints may be out of the playoff hunt anyway.

Here are your Week 10 top NFL waiver wire pickups.

Emmanuel Sanders (WR – Pittsburgh Steelers) – Sanders is a bit of a tease for fantasy players as he has an exorbitant amount of talent, but is 3rd on the Steelers depth chart behind Wallace and Brown, both of whom deserve to be ahead of him. Brown went down to an injury in the game against the Giants and although Sanders only saw 2 targets all afternoon, he played the majority of the offensive plays the rest of the game. If Brown is out for any length of time, Sanders will get 1st crack at showing what he can do on the field. How the Steelers coaches use him remains to be seen, and Sanders will be at best the 4th offensive option, but he could capitalize on the opportunity given to him.

Taiwan Jones/Marcel Reece/Mike Goodson (RBs – Oakland Raiders) – So McFadden goes down and you rush to the waiver wire to find someone to pick up…only one problem…there is no clear choice to replace him. Goodson would be the 1st choice, but he was injured as well and there is some doubt as to his availability this week. Taiwan Jones was listed as the 3rd stringer but along comes fullback Marcel Reece to catch 8 passes out of the backfield. What makes things harder is that the Raiders were down most of the game and stopped trying to run the ball so no evidence is left for who would be plugged in this week. If Goodson is healthy he will be the #1 choice. But if Goodson can’t go, Jones is more of a speedy back and should then get the call ahead of Reece who isn’t known for his running as opposed to his blocking abilities. That being said, Raiders coaches have said they worry about Jones holding on to the ball. Watch reports out of camp this week and pick accordingly, but be wary of how things could unpredictably play out. Maybe put their pictures on a dartboard, close your eyes and hope to get lucky…

Danny Amendola (WR – St Louis Rams) – In a deep fantasy league, Amendola is sitting on someone’s bench and will probably not be available, but since he was injured back in Week 5, in smaller leagues Amendola may have been dropped and be ripe for the picking. One of Sam Bradford’s favorite targets, Amendola seems almost guaranteed to return in Week 10 and should get back to putting up good numbers for the Rams. He will have been forgotten about in a lot of leagues, but make sure you pick him up if he’s sitting on your waiver wire.

T.Y. Hilton (WR – Indianapolis Colts) – Hilton has played well this year, but when Donnie Avery went down to injury in the game against the Dolphins, Hilton broke through for 6 catches and 102 yards with a TD. QB Andrew Luck was raving about Hilton after the game and if Avery is to miss any time look for Hilton to get a lot more looks from Luck in the offense.

Pierre Thomas should easily be the #1 choice, but the Monday night affair also saw the return of Chris Ivory who played well and Mark Ingram also stepped up. So who will be the feature back in New Orleans? In the end, all 3 got close to equal touches so if you need depth at the running back spot, the hierarchy should be Thomas, then Ivory then Ingram – but buyer beware!
