Here are a few of my favorite boots for fall.

Christian Louboutin Trotte Buckled Suede Boot

Cole Haan Air Mica Boot

With a classic shape and a silvertone studs for some extra pizazz, these Cole Haan boots are a nice choice for fall. These black boots feature a 3 1/2 inch heel and Nike Air cushioning for maximum comfort and wearability. You can get these boots from Nordstrom for $550.

BCBGirls Chill Boot

For a different flavor, check out these grey leather boots, which are trimmed in glossy black patent leather on the top shaft and cap toe. These boots are definitely unique! They aren’t only cute, but also affordable at $228.95 from Nordstrom. These BCBGirls Chill boots feature a 3 3/4-inch heel and full side zip.

Always use sunscreen.
Whenever you are going to be out in the sun for an significant period of time, always use sunscreen. Don’t bake in the sun at tanning salons or at the pool. The beauty of a tan isn’t worth the price of skin cancer. Instead, lather on the sunscreen and use one of the latest sunless tanning products on the market. Or you can head to your local salon and get a spray on tan! The experts at the salon can make sure your tan looks even and natural.

Ease up on the makeup.
In the summer, you don’t need heavy makeup. Skip foundation and instead use a bronzer or tinted moisturizer instead. Leave sticky lipstick and goopy glosses at home. Opt for a tinted lip balm for just a touch of color, while protecting your lips. Softlips offers fabulous flavors with just a hint of color.

Use an oil-free moisturizer.
Your skin needs hydration, so you can’t skip moisturizer altogether in the summer. However, you should switch from the thick creams you use in the winter and use a lighter, oil-free moisturizer instead. You also need to hydrate your skin from the inside out. In the summer, drink plenty of fluids. Drink 8 tall glasses of water each day … even more when you exercise.

Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Foods rich in antioxidants and vitamins are great for your skin. Instead of a fast food lunch, choose a fruit salad instead. Berries are especially high in antioxidants, which are essential to keeping your skin glowing.

Exfoliate every two weeks.
Exfoliate your body from head to toe every two weeks to slough away dead skin cells and keep your skin looking refreshed and radiant. Don’t rub too hard when exfoliating, however. Using too much pressure will cause irritation and inflammation.

The answer, as usual, lies in your personal style. Bows can add feminine flavor to a shirt, dressing it up from a lay-around-the-house shirt to a flirty, fun top perfect for a date. But if you’re not very girly, you may want to forego the bow, and that’s okay, too. Fashion is about finding your comfort level, and making you look good while comfortable.

If you decide to go the bow rout, you must take care to not look too cutesy. Big bows sometimes have the tendency to do this, so you must always try your bowed shirt on. (No internet purchases, ladies!) And keep your style simple, relaxed: the bow should be the biggest, and only, fashion accessory you’re wearing.

A second, very popular style is the menswear-inspired bow-tie look, like this fashionable Gap blouse. Tie it as a tie, or flip it into a bow – the choice is yours, and this added versatility allows you to go from work chic to feminine flirt in no time at all. Now that’s what I call a two-for-one deal.

Dolce & Gabbana’s runway show featured a lot of white. From white tuxedo pants to white slacks to white shorts. Stripes are also very prevalent. This show features everything from dress suits to track suits.

Louis Vuitton’s show featured a lot of blue suits, aviator sunglasses and men’s bags, including duffles, messenger bags and totes.

Prada offers darker colors that the other lines … browns, dark greens, navy and black. Again a lot bags are featured here.

Alexander McQueen featured lighter colors, tight shirts, some stripes, dip-dye and other splashes of color, including bright orange. Lots of eccentric shapes, designs and textures are evident throughout.

You get a few behind the scenes looks at Gucci. Then lots of color on the runway highlighted by aqua, sky and cobalt blue. Also lots of prints are on display.

Finding a bra that fits in very important for every woman, so important that The Tyra Banks Show filmed an entire episode around its theme. But even if you don’t watch daytime television, hope is not lost: finding your bra size is easy. Just grab a measuring tape, and follow these two easy steps:

• To measure you band size, place the measuring tape just below your breasts, around your rib cage. Check your measurement in inches, and add five to that number. If you get an odd number, round up to make it even. This is your band size.
• To determine your cup size, measure around the fullest part of your breasts. Make sure to leave the tape comfortably loose, not too tight, but not hanging off. Subtract your band size from this number, and the difference is your cup size: less than 1-inch difference = AA, 1-inch = A, 2-inch = B, 3-inch = C, 4-inch = D, 5-inch = DD/E, 6-inch = DDD/F, etc.

After you’ve determined your true bra size, head to your favorite lingerie store, and pick up lots of samples. Head into the changing room, and have fun. You know you have the right fit, so now you can focus on strap styles, fabrics, and all the other details that should actually matter when bra shopping.

Oprah became a fan of Hawaii when her personal trainer, Bob Greene suggested she buy land on one of the Hawaiian Islands. It seems as though Greene’s motives for inviting Oprah to one of his favorite regions wasn’t entirely altruistic as even Oprah noted that the was afraid that a developer would start a condo laden urban sprawl trend on the rocky hillside.

Oprah chose her interior decorator, Ellie, after having seen her Connecticut home in a magazine. The informal American country style is what most attracted her and it’s how her Hawaiian home is decorated. Or so they claim, but I would say the home is more eclectic flower shop and trinket shop than anything else.

Even from the exterior Oprah Winfrey’s Hawaiian home is just littered with junk, I’m sure its expensive junk, but when you put that much stuff together it just looks cluttered and everything loses its value and becomes one more crazy blob of activity. And what is with the big fake horse welcoming you as you approach the house? The abundance of plant life is a nice Hawaiian touch, but from the front, looking at the home it appears as if they plants take over the wraparound porches and leave almost no room for people. In addition, the repetition of so many little balusters in the railing is really distracting and busy. Did I mention the ridiculous fake horse?!

Now apparently there is a reason for the big old fake horse and that is because there are horses roaming the countryside around Oprah’s ranch. So this theme was brought inside the home and the living room is rife with antique horses. The problem with this room is, I believe, less the room itself than it is the photo used to represent it. At first glance you don’t know if you’re looking at someone’s living room or a florist’s gift shop. I see no less than nine vases with flowers in them. And the home’s interior is all but obscured by one of the horses front and center in the picture. So maybe Oprah’s living room looks nicer than it appears from first glance at this picture, but with this representation it’s just busy, cluttered, and uninspired.

Moving on to the bedroom. The white on white décor really helps tame down the cluttered and busy appearance of the room with its lattice like exposed ceiling beams, heavily grilled windows and the variety of patterns on the accessories, making it almost tolerable if you take out the flowers that litter the tops of every available surface. And again the picture of the incredible view of the ocean is all but obscured by the huge number of flower containers.

The dining room would be simply gorgeous if we hadn’t already been inundated by flowers and the main table was not loaded with huge bouquets. The vivid bright walls are beautiful, the yellow and white striped chairs are the perfect accompaniment, perfectly echoing the 12 pane windows and the striped appearance of the white window treatments and yellow walls. The square checked carpeting is a bit busy but the muted colors keep it tolerable and the large weather vane is a nice touch. So other than the overstatement of flowers for the picture, this room is beautiful and the views must be striking.

One image that is not visible in the large picture of the dining room is a Thomas Hart Benton painting which is partially lost because of the clutter of multicolored French Jaspe pottery pitchers resting below it. Thank god there are no flowers but I’m guessing that was only because they would have actually covered part of this painting, otherwise I’m sure the staging crew would have filled each and every pitcher with flowers.

The kitchen appears simple and elegant and a nice clean place to prepare food and cook, if you remove all of the clutter that was placed there by the staging crew for this picture.

The decorator, Ellie, says that everywhere she looks there’s something of interest and quality, which may be true, but this many items in a home is simply overkill and visually distracting. Perhaps it’s the fact that Oprah is used to much larger homes that can more adeptly hold and display her collections, but her Hawaiian home is too cluttered to feel comfy and cozy and the heady smell of all those floral arrangements must be almost sickening.

Let’s recap, she’s had her kids taken away, has lost control of her finances, been in and out of rehab, had a nervous breakdown, been allegedly drugged up by her manager Sam Lufti, and Possibly gotten married to her paparazzi boyfriend, and what does she do? Start training to go on tour of course.

Considering her last outing on the VMA awards I’d be surprised if this lasted longer than the recently canceled Spice Girls Reunion Concert. Maybe she should skip the luxury hotel in los angeles and go with a cheap waterfront hotel in baltimore.

The rules for buying heels are the same for buying any shoes: Do wear the right size. Don’t cram your feet into too small, too narrow or too big shoes. But they also come with their own set of rules: Don’t wear super high heels more than 12 hours at a time. Do stretch your calves after wearing heels; high heels can cause your achilles tendon to shorten over time.

Here are some other things to look out for when buying high heels:

Pointy toed shoes make your legs look longer, which makes you look thinner. When trying on these shoes, remember that the point is ornamental, not functional. You’re not supposed to squeeze your foot into the point, there should be plenty of room in there. And don’t do anything stupid like having cosmetic surgery on your feet. Shoes come and go, but your feet have to last a lifetime. Since ultra high heels push your feet forward, you may even want to go a half-size larger when selecting pointy shoes. But make sure the shoes don’t flop off your heel when you walk. You could break your ankle, or get a blister.

Spotlight a slim ankle with a strap. Ankle straps also help hold the shoe on your foot–helpful if you have narrow heels.

Pair peep toes with tights–opaque or textured–not sheer panty hose. Matching your tights to your skirt or your shoes creates a long leg line. For a subtle look match neutral shoes with tights of the same color. If you’re wearing bright shoes and a neutral dress or skirt, match the tights to the garment. If you’re young, slim and daring you can opt for bright tights and neutral shoes, but this isn’t a look everyone can wear.

Do not wear sheer hose with open-toed strappy sandals. In fact, do not wear sheer hosiery at all. If you want to protect your foot from straps that rub or bite, use a product like Blister Block to protect your feet. It really does work, but you have to remember to reapply it if you’re wearing the shoes for any length of time. Do make sure your feet are sandal worthy before donning strappy shoes. Chipped polish, unsightly callouses or rough soles will detract from your look. A pedicure is worth the investment.

If you’re under five feet tall, don’t wear sky high heels. Everyone wants to look taller, but jumbo heels and big platforms can make you look like a little girl playing dress up. Stick to shoes three inches and under that are more slim than chunky. Slingbacks, which help give the illusion of height, are another good option.
