Did millennials really party all the time?

Gen Z here. I was shocked when I found out from a millennial co-worker that y’all had teen clubs. I heard about house parties, but dedicated teen clubs? Then when it was time for college, you went to the club or had some kind of party every single weekend, living it up. Now some millennials on TikTok claim that after college, they were partying on work nights, still clocking in the next day. For some reason, the teen clubs have since disappeared. I’m 23 now but even when I was in high school, that was not a thing. House parties were not that common either. They were more like get togethers with a small group of friends. We went to malls, but they were dying out at that point. Is it true that you were really living life this good? Or is it just exaggerated? I feel like my generation doesn’t really have fun like that and everyone is just super depressed and alone, more so since Covid. Even I’m pretty introverted, which sort of sounds ridiculous given this post. 😂 Just so you know, when I think of a “millennial party” I think of something out of Party Rock Anthem, Project X or Roderick’s party from the second DOAWD movie. It’s like I get nostalgia from something I didn’t even live through. I just feel like I didn’t really LIVE, if that even makes sense

Been balding since 25. Have known since some time that my combover was fooling no one (except myself), but this community gave me the final push.

I'm glad I've taken control of my look. Just wondering if a buzzcut would have been better than a full shave. Feel like I'm looking at Megamind in the mirror 😅

EDIT: Holy shit you guys are amazing. Y'all really know how to make a guy feel good about himself. Fwiw this really wasn't bait. I started feeling anxious immediately after the cut yesterday, wondering how fast my (little) hair would grow back. But now I'm feeling much better about myself. Raya and the Last Dragon — Trust blindly, even if it costs you everything

The core theme of the movie (which it makes very clear) is to have faith in the goodness of people, and to trust those you otherwise might not. Good, simple moral. But what they actually show is Raya being punished over and over for putting faith in people, even getting Sisu (the Last Dragon) killed because she “didn’t trust” the antagonist Namaari, You know, who currently had a crossbow pointed at her friend’s heart. In the end, everyone basically dies except Naamari, who only saves the day because she has a last minute crisis of conscience. So the takeaway is to blindly trust people who’ve repeatedly screwed you over, because not doing so might ruin your life. And if you (very understandably) view certain people with suspicion, whatever harm they might do to you is actually your fault.

Peppa Pig — Mr. Skinnylegs

This one isn’t serious but it’s fun so I included it. In episode 47, season 1 of Peppa Pig, Peppa and George find a little black spider hiding in their toys. The kids initially freak out, before being calmed by their dad, who explains that spiders are harmless friends. The episode ends with the kids holding the spider in their bare hands and having a tea party with it. In Britain, spiders by and large are harmless. In Australia, where the show is also popular, they very very much can kill you dead. So for a few years, the ABC had to take down the episode, lest Australia’s children start thinking huntsman spiders and redbacks are playmates. The episode has since been allowed to be shown.

If you recall Peep and “He bit my roommate so I’m posting his ugliest pics” about a year ago. Well roommate is now bf (good) and Peep still has a biting problem (bad) when he’s not getting what he wants (9 times out of 10, my bf’s attention - he is obsessed to an unhealthy degree and I think would deliberately cause me to fall out of a 3rd story window if it meant more time alone with him)

Also he’s been spoiled horribly. He has to be pet while he eats and screams for my bf to carry him to his bowl.

My daughter is 18 and recently moved out. She shares an apartment with her best friend Sarah. Sarah's mom talks to me on Facebook and I got a message a couple weeks ago that some guy was staying multiple nights in a row over my daughter's house. I thought that my daughter and I were close so I was very surprised when she hadn't told me that she was dating somebody.

I see her often since she only lives 15 min away. I asked her about it a couple weeks ago and she told me she was dating her 27 year old manager from work. I was uncomfortable with the entire idea but communication that's important to me and I didn't want to discourage her from talking to me in the future so I asked if she wanted to bring him over for dinner that weekend since her cousins were coming too.

They come over and he's okay. I mean, he's a 27 year old man dating my teenage daughter so okay isn't the word, but he was polite and respectful. He didn't say much and they left together. My daughter said he had a good time. They've kept dating but she says he is just kind of a boring guy who plays video games.

Well last night my daughter stayed over my house and we had a few glasses of wine together and looked at her baby photo on my laptop. We have some photos of her as a baby in the bathtub. She took a picture of the laptop screen with her phone and made a comment that her boyfriend would like these ones. I asked her what she had meant because it sounded weird that way she said it.

We had a small argument because she said it's a photo of her, her body and she can do what she wants with it. I told her that I thought it was inappropriate and it was strange he was dating her to begin with.

Her boyfriend ended up coming to get her and we haven't texted since. I'm not sure where to even go from here.

Edit : just before somebody says something, my husband joined the military at 18. My daughter can have a couple glasses of wine at home at 18.

Edit 2: I am messaging Sarah's mom on Facebook to try to touch base and see if Sarah knows anything she told her mom

Edit 3: the photo was her standing up in the bathtub with her butt sticking out, playing with paint, she was not covered with water.
