Can someone explain Corruption system Completely?

I simply do not understand the full system of Corruption and I feel like I can't find concrete answers.

What I get:

-Corruption levels go up as you do anything feeding related.

-These levels are required for certain vampirism abilities.

-People seeing you feed is bad.

What I don't get:

Does corruption have an impact on story? What is it? Is it "well you could have done this, but you are corruption level 4, so sorry now you can't do that."?

Does each quest have a corruption requirement of you can only be this high/you cant be this high? How the hell would I know which is which?

IF SO How on earth am I supposed to fight as a vampire AT ALL? I'm playing on a harder difficulty and I feed on animals (supposedly neutral targets) to refill my health post battle. Am I just not supposed to refill my health at all?

Kinda disappointed in the corruption part of the game (spoilers)

So i thought corruption would effect the ending or your playthrough in some way.

But as it appears, it didn't.

This game has a lot of shallow parts.

There is literally no reason to destroy the vakhir blood vials if there is no penalty in some way for drinking them instead.

A lot of choices you could make feel very dumb in that way where the descision is absolutely obvious

It feels like the game originally had no points in wich you could decide something aside from picking quests. And they shoehorned it in.

Aside from that i love the game Solid 8/10 for me

So I post on here a little while back about being careful of DMs because guys start cool then lead into sexual content. I had it happen again to me luckily I am in a good head space right now kind of dug into to it. Kind of played along a bit doing like investigating and it came out this is what he called it “Corruption kink” he gets off by basically getting people to relapse. He has deleted his account from what I can tell but be careful out there people there are demons in the mix.. don’t do what I did just delete and ignore the chat. Like I said I am in a good space right now if I wasn’t I would have probably cracked.

Can someone please explain if feeding on only animals/enemies has a negative effect on the ending? It’s required to level up vampirism, but will doing it on animals or threats still allow me to have the best possible ending?
