r/SciFiScroll and r/SciFiTV Self-Promotion Policy:

These forums are part of Axiom's Edge Sci Fi, and we are trying to build a community of genre fans where where we can discuss and learn more about science fiction, fantasy, and horror while also promoting the the works of independent creators (more on that at this link). We have been allowing self-promotion at r/SciFiScroll and r/SciFiTV, but we are going to adjust the policy because things have been getting a bit out of hand. We will continue to allow you promote your books, comics, movies, web sites, web series, games, etc., but we are going to start imposing some limitations. We are going to impose a LIMIT OF THREE SELF-PROMOTION POSTS PER WEEK, and even with that, we want you to act very judiciously. And if you are putting up self promotion posts, we ask that you participate beyond promoting your own works by posting other links at these sites, and also getting involved with the discussions and debates. We want to help independent creators to get their work noticed, but we don't want to turn these forums into a shill. We also request that you DO NOT POST AFFILIATE LINKS as that is a violation of Reddit policies. You can post a link to your YouTube page or an article or site with information about your work or chapters/segments from your book or web comic, etc. And if you happen to want to let people know about a new product like the Blu-ray release of Blake's 7, you can put up an informational post with a link to where people can purchase it as long as that is not an affiliate link. And for those reporting what they believe is spam, please make sure you understand our self-promotion policies and explain your reason for reporting the post.

If you have a blog with news, reviews, information, etc. relating to science fiction, fantasy, and horror, posting links to your articles is okay. But again, be judicious about this and also post other links in the forums and participate in the discussions. For example, I post anywhere from two to four links per week from the Axiom's Edge sites, sometimes more, but I always post other links as well and try to stay as involved with the discussions as time allows. Axiom's Edge Sci Fi also allows independent creators other opportunities to promote and advertise their works, and you can read more about that at this link.

Consider these new rules to be in place now, and we will be monitoring closely in the coming weeks. You will be given one warning if you violate the rules, and then posts will be removed and you could be banned from r/SciFiScroll and r/SciFiTV. The Pack were never animals.

They were what the lower sectors became when fear learned structure.

Masked, disciplined, and territorial, the Pack survived by reading movement, pressure, weakness, and debt. They hunted alleys, markets, runners, and anyone foolish enough to cross a claimed route.

But survival created a market.

Below VEYR, black clinics began selling upgrades that turned pain into fuel, hunger into focus, and memory into instinct. Failed creatures, discarded runners, and contaminated route fragments were fed into combat systems, building a new kind of hunter.

Not stronger.

More efficient.

The Better Predator program does not create monsters. It removes hesitation. It converts trauma into reflex. It teaches the body to follow what the mind should never remember.

REY sees the danger before the Pack fully understands what they have purchased.

A predator that can follow breath.

A predator that can read pressure.

A predator that can smell a route ghost.

DREAD does not fear them.

She studies them with contempt.

Because imitation predators always reveal who taught them to hunt.

The Pack were not born predators.

They were priced into it.

Every failed route, every broken runner, every creature memory pulled from the bio trade became training material. Pain became instruction. Hunger became focus. Fear became reflex.

VEYR did not build monsters.

The Identical Murder — a futuristic detective mystery set in 2226

Hey everyone, I’m Roy Howard, and I wanted to share the first book in a new science-fiction detective series I’ve been working on called The Rook Files.

Book 1 is The Identical Murder.

It takes place in Meridian City in 2226, where cameras, AI, identity tracking, and automated systems record almost everything people do.

So when a murder happens, the city seems to have a perfect answer for who committed it.

The problem is that the evidence is correct.

The person really was there. The records are real. The system wasn’t obviously hacked.

Then another murder happens.

And once again, the evidence gives an answer that should be impossible to argue with.

The story follows private detective Cassian Rook and his robot partner Miles as they try to figure out how you solve a murder when the technology isn’t lying, but the conclusion may still be wrong.

I’m a big fan of old-school detective stories, so I wanted to combine that kind of mystery with a futuristic city full of AI, robots, surveillance, flying vehicles, and advanced technology.

If you like science-fiction mysteries, detective stories, cyber-noir, robots, and trying to solve the case along with the investigator, I’d be glad if you checked it out.

This movie quote is from IMDB for the movie Demon Seed. I learned about AI from this. Dr. Harris has constructed a computer to help him cure childhood leukemia which killed his daughter, but Proteus has other ideas. Everything we are hearing about the dangers of AI was predicted in this movie. In 1977!
