Hello everyone out there in Redline land!

Craig here, stopping in on a chilly Sunday night here in London town. Chris landed safely, and we've had a very productive jam with Matt from Agent filling in on bass once again, and once again doing an awesome job!

We've got a show at the legendary Hope and Anchor pub in Islington on Thursday the 5th of November. If you're one of our London homies reading this, then please come along and rock out with us, we're really looking forward to playing again, especially as the last show went so well and it's only £6! Can't say fairer than that now, can you?

Then we've got a show with our friends I Am Giant on the 10th at the Walkabout pub in Leicester. This gig is free entry, so if you're in Leicester or the Midlands area, you might as well cruise down to say hey!

Redline to perform Freestyle Festival 09 in London

Just wanted to let you know that Redline have been confirmed to play at the Freestyle Festival in London late October.

To say we're excited about playing there would be a slight understatement!

This weekend festival showcases a tonne of cool stuff including skating, inline skating, BMX, b-boys, free running, teaching extreme sports, live bands, graffiti, urban culture and secret wars!

Killswitch Engage - Starting Over Music Video

Killswitch Engage is one of my favourite bands and I just wanted to share the music video for their new track 'Starting Over'. They always seem to deliver just the right amount heart felt emotion mixed with aggression in their music. Hope you dig it too!

Btw, you probably didn't know but when they last toured New Zealand, Rich got to be their designated driver, taking them around the place and making sure they didn't get lost :)

Well holy shit!

It's already the end of July, and whether it's because of my turning 25, or because my boss just made me do a half yard of champagne, I feel compelled to blog. And as we all know, the most insightful moments in life are alcohol induced. So at the end of this paragrapgh, feel free to stop reading, or continue to gain some kind of insight into my psyche.

I want to write about something that's been on my mind the past few days. I was born in 1984. In this time I've loved, learnt, lost, and gained lots of things. What I'm learning now though is that there are hundreds of thousands and even more of people who are less fortunate than myself, and certainly lots of causes who may benefit from my existence.

Look at the world around you. Where are you? Are you proud of where you're from? Your identity? I can tell you that I'm very proud of being from New Zealand, and the identity that comes from that. I feel that as a New Zealander, the time has come to follow in the footsteps of those who were before me and start to spread a message. Unfortunately right now there's far too much in my head to be more specific, but I shall try.

Do you believe in something? Does something make you mad? angry? upset? reactionary? Don't just bury these feelings and let the world pass you by. Surely everyone in the world has things on their mind, and things they feel passionate about. Gay rights? Climate change? Human rights? Whatever it may be, don't feel that you can't make a difference. YOU CAN! Don't worry about what people think, if you feel strongly about something, do something about it! It may be signing a petition, it may be something more active than this. Everyon has a voice, everyone has an opinion. Don't let yourself be just another face in the crowd, unless that's what you want to be. Nobody in this world has the right to tell you what to be, or what to think other than yourself. Excercise your freedom of speech to the level that you want to, and perhaps, you may make a difference.

There's a wealth of information out there for you to form your own opinions. I'm certainly not qualified to tell you what to think. I encourage anyone who reads this to visit your local library or seek out information online and see what you can find. I certainly will.

You may find this tedious and/or the outpourings of someone who's imbibed a little too much alcohol. Take from it what you will.

Hello to all in Redline-land!

So I'm just chilling at home at the moment, thought I'd give everyone a shout and see how you're all doing!

So June is drawing to a close, and looking back it's been an intense month. Yes we only played one show, but it went really well and it was great having Chris over here for a few weeks. We partied, we saw a lot (well, he did) of cool things around Europe and from my perspective, it was the first time I felt right being over here.

We went to Download festival and had an awesome time seeing some of our favourite bands, and learned about some new killer ones at the same time.

Ultimately, this month has made this whole trip over to this side of the world worth it for me, and now we're looking forward again, trying to figure out what the next step is for Redline.

Debut Redline London show success!!!

Just wanted to quickly write to say how amazing the show went last night, show you a couple of pics and to say thanks to everyone that turned up and made the show so great!

We missed having our regular Redline family with us, Isaac that does sound, Big Val who stage techs and of course Nick to slam the bass lines home. Matt from Agent did an outstanding job filling in on bass for the night, many thanks to him for helping us out.

Our set consisted of Echoes, Now, Tearaway, Time After Time, Nothing Else, Take Me In and Thriller.

The other bands we played with were killer! Big ups to Firetone, Killing Cupid and Of The I. Hope we can get to jam with you guys again sometime soon.

Pumped as for show tomorrow

Hey everyone, just got back from our last practice before the gig! We're playing tight, pumped as, and ready to show London how it's done!

Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know. If you're in London and coming to the show, I just want to say a big thank you on behalf of the other guys, it's gonna mean a lot to us. Granted unfortunately Nick's still back at home waiting for surgery (he reckon's his knee looks like it's gonna explode! Sick!) so we've got Matt from Agent deftly filling his shoes (thanks Matt and the Agent boys for letting us steal him for a bit!), and the 5th Redliner, Big Val, is not able to be with us, which sucks on both counts, but we're still ready to rock the house and bring the Redline noise to London town

I'm sure there's going to be plenty of photos and maybe even some video footage if we're lucky, we'll keep y'all in the know, obviously!

First thing I noticed when I got off the plane was how humid it was here. Next thing I noticed was the number of people walking about wearing surgical masks to fend off swine flu! Then I noticed how massive this airport really is!

Im at Sydney airport now. When I got off my flight before, airport quarantine had set up thermal cameras that scanned people as they walked through checking for anyone who may have the flu! The images that came up on their monitor screens looked like something out of predator!

It's now less than two weeks before I finally get to fly out of New Zealand on 21 May to meet up with Craig and Rich in London.

Can't wait to kick some ass at Redline's first London show on 4 June, do some traveling and then end it all in style by going to the Download Festival on 10-12 June.

This is the sickest line up of bands I have ever seen on a concert line up and I cannot wait to be in amongst it all. Check out the poster to see who is performing, totally killer!

For now, this is a short trip to the UK for me and I'll be returning to Auckland after 4 weeks. I'll take plenty of pics and vids of the trip for you to check out.

Redline's debut London show

Redline will play their debut London show on 4 June! It's been a long time coming but the moment is finally drawing nearer and I'm getting excited to hit the stage again.

Unfortunately due to a severe knee condition he has suffered, Nick has had to return to NZ. We're hoping he'll back on form soon, we're getting a fill in to help us out with the show in the meantime.

Guns n Roses - Paradise City

The reason I chose to share this song first is because this is THE song that got me into rock music! If it wasn't for this song, I have no idea what kind of person I'd be.

It's just so catchy and Guns n Roses were so bad ass compared to all the other fluffy bands around at the time. I was a kid when I first heard it, before this song all I knew about music was the pop stuff on radio and tv.

Hey Redliners! Craig here again, hope all is well.

So I woke up at 4:30 am this morning. Not keen. I'm pretty stoked on why though. I had to mission out to Heathrow airport to meet up with a certain Mr. Nick Gregory. That's right, now 3/4 of Redline (I should actually say 3/5....) are in old Blighty! After what sounds like rather comfy if long-ass flight, Nick is here and we're about to head into the west end and get him to know his way round.

I'm sure he'll post something soon (cause I'll make him!) but I wanted to share the exciting news. Forecast for next weekend: Drinking with an 85% chance of stupidity. Here's a pic we took after he'd been in the country literally 30 minutes. I'm eating Cajun Squirrel flavour crisps. They're actually pretty good...

36 Crazyfists and Poison The Well, 13/03/09

Hey Redliners, Craig here! How's things? This is quite the epic post, so make sure you're sitting comfortably!

As Chris has mentioned, Rich and I went to see 36 Crazyfists and Poison The Well the other night in Camden's Electric Ballroom. I hadn't heard much PTW, but I was keen to see them live as everyone raves about them, and I've loved 36 Crazyfists for years, so I was stoked to finally see them live. Richard's been a big fan of Poison The Well for a long time, and has seen them a few times.

We rocked up to the show and immediately I went to the merch desk and bought myself a shirt. Gotta be done, people! I haven't told many people yet, but it was actually the first band shirt I've bought that wasn't black. Seriously, people would be frightened of this....

Anyways, we caught the tail end of opening band Gwen Stacy, they were pretty good, their drummer was really tight and had a good sound. They could have been a bit more energetic though...

Poison The Well were incredible! I'm kicking myself for not seeking out these guys sooner, but luckily they're going to be playing here again in just a couple of weeks, I think Rich and I are gonna have to go again! As I didn't really know the songs at all I kinda didn't know what was going on, but I did really enjoy it, and they were really tight. Rich was loving every minute of it though.

36 Crazyfists came on and the crowd immediately went apeshit. Rich and I were hanging back a bit as we wanted to see everything, being our first time seeing the band. They rocked through a killer set, really energetic and tight. They got a lucky fan up onstage to sing 'Destroy The Map' with them. That was a really cool moment, and I was just jealous it wasn't me! Just before 'The All Night Lights' started, Brock (36CF singer) got the crowd to split in half for a Wall Of Death. Rich and I decided we had to get in amongst it, so we lined up (a few pints in, no less!) and took part. The entire floor was a warzone and somehow I found myself right up front for their encore song 'Slit Wrist Theory.' Hells yeah....

After the set, Rich and I met up outside and cruised around the back of the venue. After a little bit, we met Ryan and Bradley from Poison The Well. As they'd just been in New Zealand and had hung out with one of our friends at home, we had a chat to them about their travels. They were really lovely dudes! Then eventually 36 Crazyfists came out, posed for a few photos, and signed some stuff. I got talking to Brock, told him the band had to go down to NZ as there's lots of fans there. He gave me his e-mail address so I can tell him good places to go. Then they decided they were going to get drinking and they invited us along. I remember spending 50 quid that I really didn't want to spend, but it was worth it for such a killer night. Rich and I ended up stumbling to his place at some ungodly hour, fried chicken in hand (gross, but at the time, so amazing!). Getting home the next day wasn't too easy, I had a bit of a limp for some reason, but we had a killer night, got some awesome pics and some amazing (if somewhat fuzzy) memories.

Whew, so there we go, a recap of our night. I think we're gonna have a quiet couple of weeks because Mr. Gregory arrives in London town in just over a week, so we're gonna have to save our cash! Will take him around the place when he's recovered from the flight and we should have some wicked pics to show y'all!

Redline party up with 36 Crazyfists in London

36 Crazyfists recently toured through London. Rich and Craig got the chance to hang out and have a few drinks with the lads after their show last Friday night!

Redline heard on Outrageous Fortune!
